Il n'y avait aucun empire semblable à celui là. Les autres royaumes (cyprès, platanes) n'égalaient pas même ses provinces (ses rameaux).

Le jardin de Dieu ne peut désigner que le paradis. Le sens est : que lorsque le paradis existait, il ne renfermait pas d'arbre pareil à ce cèdre. L'homme n'apparaissait pas si grand en Adam, nouvellement créé, que dans la personne du roi d'Assyrie.

      17 until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
      18 Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, "Yahweh will deliver us." Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?
