Cette abondance toute nouvelle de poissons, indiquée au verset 9, est décrite au verset 10 avec toutes ses conséquences.

Des pêcheurs. La vie humaine elle-même avec l'activité qui l'accompagne, reparaîtra sur ces rivages jusqu'ici plongés dans la solitude et la mort.

D'En-Guédi (la source du bouc) jusqu'à En-Eglaïm, (la source des deux veaux) : En-Guédi, c'est une petite oasis d'une végétation luxuriante due à la source qui l'arrose (Cantique 1.14) ; elle est située sur la rive occidentale de la mer à peu près à égale distance de ses extrémités nord et sud. La situation d'En-Eglaïm est inconnue. On a pensé que cet endroit devait se trouver sur la rive orientale en face d'En-Guédi, pour que tout le pourtour de la mer fût ainsi désigné ici. Mais les pêcheurs ne tendent pas leurs filets au travers d'une mer de quatre lieues de largeur. Il faut donc supposer qu'En-Eglaïm se trouvait aussi sur la rive occidentale, soit au nord, soit au sud d'En-Guédi.

Selon son espèce. D'après Genèse 1.21, cette expression indique la conservation et la multiplication de la race et, par conséquent, la puissance de vie dont elle est douée.

Comme celui de la grande mer, c'est-à-dire de la Méditerranée. Les espèces seront aussi diverses et nombreuses que celles de cette mer.
