L'intérêt du prophète est si vivement sollicité par la scène dont il est témoin qu'il ne peut s'empêcher d'y prendre part (comparez Esaïe 6.5,8,11) : Et je dis. On a pensé que ces mots signifiaient Et j'ai dit, c'est-à-dire : J'ai ordonné, et qu'ils étaient la continuation du discours de l'ange. Mais il faudrait dans ce cas : Qu'ils te mettent... sur ta tête...

Tiare. Le mot employé ici (tsaniph) désigne ordinairement la coiffure des rois et des princes (Job 29.14), mais il a la même racine que celui qui désigne habituellement la coiffure du souverain sacrificateur (mitsnépheth, Exode 28.1). C'était sur le devant de cette tiare qu'était fixée la lame d'or portant ces mots : Sainteté à l'Eternel (Exode 28.38). Aussi comprend-on l'intérêt que met le prophète, sacrificateur lui-même, à ce que cette pièce du vêtement sacerdotal, qui rappelait si expressément la sainteté, gloire d'Israël, ne soit point oubliée.

Ils posèrent la tiare. Ils commencent par ce qu'il y a de plus en vue, la tête.

Etait présent : non seulement pour montrer que cet acte de ses serviteurs était bien le sien, mais aussi parce qu'il avait quelque chose d'important à ajouter à la suite de cette scène.

Comment ne pas penser ici à l'enfant prodigue dépouillé de ses haillons par les serviteurs de son père et revêtu par eux de la plus belle robe ! Comment ne pas penser surtout à Celui qui a porté sur lui le péché du monde et qui a rapporté du tombeau à la fois sa justice et la nôtre !
