Segond 21 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel : La tiare sera retirée, le diadème sera enlevé. Tout va changer : ce qui est bas sera élevé, et ce qui est haut sera abaissé. La tiare..., la couronne... Comme il n'est question ici que de la royauté, nous ne pensons pas que le terme de tiare doive être appliqué à la mitre du grand sacrificateur (Exode 28.4). Il s'agit plutôt de la tiare d'étoffe précieuse sur laquelle reposait la couronne d'or, emblème de la dignité royale. L'enlèvement de ces ornements signifie la destruction de la royauté en Juda. C'est ce qu'expriment énergiquement les mots suivants : tout sera changé ; littéralement : Ceci ne sera plus ceci ; parole qui est expliquée par les mots suivants : abaisser ce qui est bas ; abaisser ce qui est haut. Le prophète veut exprimer par là une révolution radicale, un renversement complet.
