Séba, probablement l'Arabie heureuse, patrie de l'encens et de beaucoup d'autres aromates.

Le roseau précieux (probablement le calamus odoratus) est mentionné Exode 30.23, comme entrant dans la composition de l'huile sainte. Il venait, paraît-il, de l'Inde. Jérémie condamne ici, comme déjà Esaïe (chapitre 1), ceux qui prétendaient se justifier devant Dieu par leur zèle pour les cérémonies du culte ; 22.2 et suivants.
