Montagne nue : probablement le cône de craie absolument nu s'élevant comme une pyramide à l'origine du Wadi Fikré, qui descend du désert vers le nord-est et aboutit à l'extrémité sud de la mer Morte.

Séir désigne la limite méridionale de la terre d'Israël (Genèse 32.3).

Baal-Gad (Césarée de Philippe, aujourd'hui Banvas) en est l'extrémité septentrionale.

La vallée du Liban : non la Célésyrie, entre le Liban et l'Hermon, mais la vallée au sud de l'Hermon, arrosée par l'affluent oriental du lac Mérom.
