Cette prospérité, actuelle est le prélude de la puissance future du peuple.

L'eau déborde : image d'un état d'abondance qui dispense de toute précaution économique. On sait combien on est généralement avare de l'eau en Orient.

Sa semence... Des semailles bien arrosées sont l'image d'une nombreuse et florissante postérité.

Agag. Ce nom est celui du roi amalékite que défit Saül (1Samuel 15.9). C'était peut-être, comme le nom de Pharaon en Egypte, le titre de la dynastie amalékite. Ce peuple s'était montré l'ennemi d'Israël immédiatement après la sortie d'Egypte (Exode 17.8,14,16 ; Nombres 14.45). Moab fera donc bien de laisser passer Israël sans l'attaquer.
