Ne connaissant pas,...d'autres traduisent "méconnaissant" il ; il s'agit plutôt d'ignorance involontaire. Cette ignorance toutefois a pour cause première l'orgueil et l'incrédulité.

Le sens spécial de ce terme est indiqué par l'antithèse : leur propre justice.
