Actes 18.26

On voit par ce récit qu'Aquilas et Priscille, qui se trouvaient alors à Ephèse, (verset 19) suivaient encore le culte de la synagogue.

C'est là qu'ils entendirent Apollos parler avec assurance (grec s'enhardir).

Ce couple fidèle comprit aussitôt ce qui manquait à l'éloquent prédicateur, et, l'ayant pris avec eux, invité dans leur maison, ils lui exposèrent plus exactement et plus complètement la voie de Dieu, c'est-à-dire l'œuvre de la rédemption accomplie par Jésus-Christ, et, spécialement, celle de la régénération opérée par le Saint-Esprit.

Le savant Alexandrin se montra assez humble pour recevoir instruction de ces modestes fabricants de tentes.
