La gloire de Dieu est son luminaire (Ezéchiel 43.2) et a remplacé pour elle les luminaires naturels. (Genèse 1.14)

Ce luminaire brille comme une pierre de jaspe, image qui servait déjà dans Apocalypse 4.3 à caractériser l'aspect de celui qui était assis sur le trône.
