9 et 10 Cette maison ne devait être qu'un moyen d'offrir des sacrifices au Dieu des cieux (verset 3). Ces sacrifices, Darius veut, pour attirer sur lui et ses fils la bénédiction du ciel, les fournir lui-même régulièrement ; il ne lui suffit pas, que les Juifs adorent leur divinité nationale.
