Te lapideront : on voit par Lévitique 20.2,10 que le supplice de la lapidation était la peine des adultères ; comparez Jean 8.5-7.

Te perceront de leurs épées : Genèse 9.6 ordonne la peine du glaive pour le crime de meurtre ; et Josué 6.21, pour les habitants d'une ville mise à l'interdit. Israël, meutrier des fils de Jéhova (verset 21, note), a mérité le supplice des Cananéens. Comparez Lévitique 20.1-5.

Une assemblée : la réunion des peuples qui assiégeront et détruiront Jërusalem est comparée à l'assemblée solennelle des Israélites lapidant un coupable.
