Je me glorifierai. Cette expression est empruntée à Exode 14.,4,7,8. Dieu se glorifie en une créature, quand il fait éclater à son occasion l'une de ses perfections.

Je me sanctifierai en elle. Ce second terme fait comprendre quelle est la perfection que Dieu va manifester dans sa conduite à l'égard de Sidon ; ce sera sa sainteté, son horreur du mal. Il atteindra ce but en la jugeant.
