Aucune nouvelle introduction ne lie ce morceau aux précédents, ce qui prouve qu'il en est simplement la continuation.

La main de l'Eternel... Ces mots indiquent l'action surnaturelle par laquelle l'esprit d'Ezéchiel est transporté dans une sphère supérieure, afin d'y contempler le tableau que lui présente l'Esprit-Saint.

Au milieu de la plaine. L'article la ferait penser que c'était celle où Dieu l'avait transporté lorsqu'il lui aurait parlé pour la première fois (3.22-23).

Dieu redonne vie à des ossements morts. (Ezéchiel 37:1-14)
Toute la maison d’Israël est représentée dans le futur, jouissant des bénédictions du Royaume de Christ. (Ezéchiel 37:15-28)

Aucune puissance de ce monde n'a encore pu redonner la vie à des ossements humains morts et desséchés. Seul, Dieu a pu accomplir un tel prodige !

De la peau et de la chair recouvrirent ces ossements, puis un souffle fut envoyé sur ces corps : c’est ainsi qu’ils ont recouvré la vie.

Ce souffle était l’emblème de l'Esprit de Dieu, il manifestait Sa toute Puissance. Cette vision était destinée à fortifier les Juifs, alors découragés ; elle prédisait à la fois leur restauration, après leur captivité, mais aussi leur rétablissement, après la dispersion mondiale qu’ils allaient connaître dans un futur plus lointain.

C'était également une information claire sur la résurrection des morts : ce souffle représente la Puissance et la Grâce de Dieu, dans la conversion à l’évangile, des pécheurs les plus désespérés.

Regardons à Lui, Celui qui ouvrira, à la fin des temps, nos tombes, pour nous mener au Jugement dernier : Il peut aujourd’hui nous délivrer du péché, et mettre Son Esprit en nous ; par Sa Puissance, par le moyen de la foi, Il est capable de nous conduire, au salut !
