Dans le pays de Canaan. Ces mots ont une importance particulière : c'est dans le pays de la promesse que Sara sera enterrée.

Abraham avait donc quitté Béerséba pour revenir à Hébron. On ne peut pas conclure, en effet, de la fin du verset (Abraham vint...) qu'Abraham ait, dans ce temps-là, vécu à Béerséba et Sara à Hébron. Ces mots signifient plutôt qu'Abraham se retira dans la tente de Sara pendant le temps de son deuil. Comparez l'expression la tente de Sara dans 24.67
