Le fruit de cet enseignement : ils se laisseront juger par Jéhova, dont ils acceptent la loi ; il sera leur arbitre suprême. Leurs querelles ne se videront plus par les armes, mais seront soumises à sa décision. La guerre cessera donc d'elle-même, la paix universelle sera réalisée, non seulement pour le peuple de Dieu mais pour tous les peuples (Zacharie 9.10). Ainsi s'accomplira une transformation opposée à celle que décrivait Joël 3.9 et suivants, lorsqu'il montrait les peuples s'assemblant pour combattre le royaume de Dieu et changeant leurs instruments aratoires en armes de guerre. Ces deux intuitions prophétiques ne sont point contradictoires : le jugement des peuples et leur conversion ont l'un et l'autre leur place dans l'histoire du règne de Dieu.
