40 à 43 La description de ce quatrième empire comprend quatre versets entiers à cause de son importance décisive. C'est la dernière forme de la puissance terrestre et hostile à Dieu avant sa ruine.

Fort comme du fer. Ce métal, plus dur que tous les autres, est l'emblème de sa puissance incomparable de destruction.
