Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where are your zeal and your mighty acts? the yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.

Les enfants d'Israël sollicitent l'Éternel, afin qu'Il constate le triste état dans lequel la nation « élue » se trouve. En ôtant le voile de leur cœur et en les faisant retourner dans leur pays « d'héritage », Son Nom ne pouvait-il pas qu'être glorifié ? La captivité des Juifs à Babylone, et leur affranchissement, n'étaient que des signes précurseurs des événements prévus à leur égard.

Le Seigneur porte Ses regards sur nous, ici-bas, avec tendresse et miséricorde. Les jugements spirituels doivent être plus redoutés que tout autre calamité ; nous devrions faire tout notre possible pour éviter de commettre les péchés qui provoquent Le seigneur : Il nous laissera alors livrés à nous-mêmes.

« Notre Rédempteur est éternel » : Tel est Ton Nom ; Ton peuple T'a toujours considéré comme le Dieu qu'il pouvait solliciter.

Le Seigneur entend les prières de ceux qui Lui appartiennent, Il les délivre de ceux qui outragent Son Nom !
