Pierre annonce à ses auditeurs Jésus-Christ, qu'il venait de nommer comme auteur de la paix, (verset 36) en ces termes : (grec) vous savez le fait qui s'est produit,...savoir (Luc 2.15) Jésus qui était de Nazareth, comment Dieu l'a oint d'Esprit saint. (Esaïe 61.1 ; Matthieu 3.16 ; Jean 1.32-34) Sa sainte vie fut une suite non interrompue de bienfaits : il alla de lieu en lieu (Actes 8.4) faisant du bien, guérissant et délivrant même les malheureux qu'opprimait la puissance des ténèbres. Quelles preuves éclatantes que Dieu était avec lui !

- Relativement à ces faits extérieurs de la vie de Jésus, l'apôtre pouvait dire : Vous savez parce que, ses auditeurs habitant la Palestine, il était impossible qu'ils n'en eussent pas quelque connaissance ; mais ils n'en avaient pas compris la signification profonde. Pierre la leur révèle.
