Dans le temps de ces rois-là. On pourrait appliquer ces mots à toutes les monarchies qui se sont succédé ; le sens serait : et au milieu de cette succession d'empires. Mais on ne peut nier que ce sens ne soit un peu forcé, et il paraît plus naturel d'appliquer ce mot de rois aux différents Etats représentés par les orteils de la statue, qui sont déjà le sujet de la phrase : ils se mêleront.

Un royaume. C'est ici le nouvel état de choses, destiné à durer toujours, que Dieu lui-même créera pour remplacer l'ordre actuel auquel préside la puissance terrestre opposée à Dieu.
