Lamentations 1.3

Toute la population de Juda est en exil, elle est écrasée de misère, sous le poids d’un dur esclavage. Elle vit parmi les autres peuples, mais elle ne trouve pas où s’installer. Ceux qui la poursuivaient l’ont rattrapée dans un chemin sans issue.
[Guimel. ] La Judée a été emmenée captive tant elle est affligée, et tant est grande sa servitude ; elle demeure maintenant entre les nations, et ne trouve point de repos ; tous ses persécuteurs l'ont attrapée entre ses détroits.
