Comme la femme dont il est question, finira sans doute par s'humilier et par prier son mari de la reprendre tout à fait à lui, lui promettant d'être fidèle, ainsi Israël retournera à son Dieu ; puis il recherchera en même temps son roi (David) ; car, avec la conversion religieuse, le schisme politique prendra fin tout naturellement. Après l'exil, l'idolâtrie et le schisme cessèrent du même coup. Mais ce n'était là qu'un commencement d'accomplissement, prélude de l'accomplissement plus parfait à l'époque du Messie (voyez note 1.11).

Tremblants... vers l'Eternel... Ils s'approcheront de l'Eternel avec l'humble tremblement du pécheur repentant (11.11).

A la fin des temps. La fin de l'exil se confond pour le regard du prophète avec les derniers temps.
