Enfoncées en terre : ensevelies sous les décombres.

Plus de loi, plus de vision. Ces deux témoignages de l'habitation de Dieu au milieu de son peuple ont disparu. L'accomplissement des prescriptions légales supposait l'existence du sanctuaire. Quant à la prophétie, il y avait bien encore des prophètes ; mais au moment de la ruine il ne leur fut accordé aucune révélation propre à encourager le euple ; comparez Psaumes 74.9. Dieu semblait à ce moment avoir abandonné son peuple.
