Le travailla au burin. Traduction incertaine ; d'autres entendent : le jeta au moule.

L'art de travailler l'or est très ancien. Dès les temps les plus reculés il y avait dans la péninsule du Sinaï des mines et des fonderies exploitées par les Egyptiens.

Un veau de métal. Sans doute un veau de bois recouvert d'or battu ; voir verset 20. Les grandes statues des dieux chez les anciens étaient en bois recouvert de plaques d'or ; comparez Exode 30.22 ; 40.19
