Jacques 5

1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.

2 Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.

3 Your gold and your silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be for a testimony against you, and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up your treasure in the last days.

4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies .

5 You have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure. You have nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

6 You have condemned, you have murdered the righteous one. He doesn't resist you.

      Patience et prière

7 Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.

8 You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

9 Don't grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won't be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.

10 Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

11 Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

12 But above all things, my brothers, don't swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your "yes" be "yes," and your "no," "no"; so that you don't fall into hypocrisy.

13 Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises.

14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord,

15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

16 Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it didn't rain on the earth for three years and six months.

18 He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.

19 Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back,

20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.

      5 Vous avez vécu sur 1909 la terre 1093 dans les voluptés 4684 5656 et 2532 dans les délices 5171 5656, vous avez rassasié 5142 5656 vos 5216 cœurs 2588 au 5613 1722 jour 2250 du carnage 4967.

      6 Vous avez condamné 2613 5656, vous avez tué 5407 5656 le juste 1342, qui ne vous 5213 a pas 3756 résisté 498 5731.

      Patience et prière

      7 Soyez donc 3767 patients 3114 5657, frères 80 jusqu’à 2193 l’avènement 3952 du Seigneur 2962. Voici 2400 5628, le laboureur 1092 attend 1551 5736 le précieux 5093 fruit 2590 de la terre 1093, prenant patience 3114 5723 à 1909 son égard 846, jusqu’à 2193 302 ce qu’il ait reçu 2983 5632 les pluies 5205 de la première 4406 et 2532 de l’arrière-saison 3797.

      8 Vous 5210 aussi 2532, soyez patients 3114 5657, affermissez 4741 5657 vos 5216 cœurs 2588, car 3754 l’avènement 3952 du Seigneur 2962 est proche 1448 5758.

      9 Ne vous plaignez 4727 5720 pas 3361 les uns des autres 2596 240, frères 80, afin que 3363 vous ne soyez pas jugés 2632 5686: voici 2400 5628, le juge 2923 est 2476 5707 5758 à 4253 la porte 2374.

      10 Prenez 2983 5628, mes 3450 frères 80, pour modèles 5262 de souffrance 2552 et 2532 de patience 3115 les prophètes 4396 qui 3739 ont parlé 2980 5656 au nom 3686 du Seigneur 2962.

11 Voici 2400 5628, nous disons bienheureux 3106 5719 ceux qui ont souffert patiemment 5278 5723. Vous avez entendu parler 191 5656 de la patience 5281 de Job 2492, et 2532 vous avez vu 1492 5627 la fin 5056 que le Seigneur 2962 lui accorda, car 3754 le Seigneur 2962 est 2076 5748 plein de miséricorde 4184 et 2532 de compassion 3629.

      12 1161 Avant 4253 toutes choses 3956, mes 3450 frères 80, ne 3361 jurez 3660 5720 ni 3383 par le ciel 3772, ni 3383 par la terre 1093, ni 3383 par aucun 5100 autre 243 serment 3727. Mais 1161 que votre 5216 oui 3483 soit 2277 5749 oui 3483, et 2532 que votre non 3756 soit non 3756, afin que 3363 vous ne tombiez 4098 5632 pas sous 1519 le jugement 5272.

      13 Quelqu’un 5100 parmi 1722 vous 5213 est-il dans la souffrance 2553 5719 ? Qu’il prie 4336 5737. Quelqu’un 5100 est-il dans la joie 2114 5719 ? Qu’il chante des cantiques 5567 5720.

      14 Quelqu’un 5100 parmi 1722 vous 5213 est-il malade 770 5719 ? Qu’il appelle 4341 5663 les anciens 4245 de l’Eglise 1577, et 2532 que les anciens prient 4336 5663 pour 1909 lui 846, en l 846’oignant 218 5660 d’huile 1637 au 1722 nom 3686 du Seigneur 2962 ;

      15 2532 la prière 2171 de la foi 4102 sauvera 4982 5692 le malade 2577 5723, et 2532 le Seigneur 2962 le 846 relèvera 1453 5692 ; et s 2579’il a 5600 5753 commis 4160 5761 des péchés 266, il lui 846 sera pardonné 863 5701.

      16 Confessez 1843 5732 donc vos péchés 3900 les uns aux autres 240, et 2532 priez 2172 5737 les uns 240 pour 5228 les autres 240, afin que 3704 vous soyez guéris 2390 5686. La prière 1162 fervente 1754 5734 du juste 1342 a une grande 4183 efficace 2480 5719.

      17 Elie 2243 était 2258 5713 un homme 444 de la même nature que 3663 nous 2254 : 2532 il pria 4336 5662 avec instance 4335 pour qu’il ne plût 1026 5658 point 3361, et 2532 il ne tomba point 3756 de pluie 1026 5656 sur 1909 la terre 1093 pendant trois 5140 ans 1763 et 2532 six 1803 mois 3376.

      18 Puis 2532 il pria 4336 5662 de nouveau 3825, et 2532 le ciel 3772 donna 1325 5656 de la pluie 5205, et 2532 la terre 1093 produisit 985 5656 son 846 fruit 2590.

      19 Mes frères 80, si 1437 quelqu’un 5100 parmi 1722 vous 5213 s’est égaré 4105 5686 loin de 575 la vérité 225, et 2532 qu’un autre 5100 l 846’y ramène 1994 5661,

      20 qu’il 846 sache 1097 5720 que 3754 celui qui ramènera 1994 5660 un pécheur 268 de 1537 la voie 3598 où il s 846’était égaré 4106 sauvera 4982 5692 une âme 5590 de 1537 la mort 2288 et 2532 couvrira 2572 5692 une multitude 4128 de péchés 266.

      Deutéronome 8

      12 lest, when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and lived therein;
      13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;
      14 then your heart be lifted up, and you forget Yahweh your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

      Deutéronome 32

15 But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

      Néhémie 9

25 They took fortified cities, and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns dug out, vineyards, and olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness.
26 "Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their back, and killed your prophets that testified against them to turn them again to you, and they committed awful blasphemies.

      Job 20

15 He has swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again. God will cast them out of his belly.
16 He shall suck cobra venom. The viper's tongue shall kill him.
17 He shall not look at the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.
18 That for which he labored he shall restore, and shall not swallow it down. According to the substance that he has gotten, he shall not rejoice.
19 For he has oppressed and forsaken the poor. He has violently taken away a house, and he shall not build it up.
20 "Because he knew no quietness within him, he shall not save anything of that in which he delights.
21 There was nothing left that he didn't devour, therefore his prosperity shall not endure.
22 In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress shall overtake him. The hand of everyone who is in misery shall come on him.
23 When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.
24 He shall flee from the iron weapon. The bronze arrow shall strike him through.
25 He draws it forth, and it comes out of his body. Yes, the glittering point comes out of his liver. Terrors are on him.
26 All darkness is laid up for his treasures. An unfanned fire shall devour him. It shall consume that which is left in his tent.
27 The heavens shall reveal his iniquity. The earth shall rise up against him.
28 The increase of his house shall depart. They shall rush away in the day of his wrath.
29 This is the portion of a wicked man from God, the heritage appointed to him by God."

      Psaumes 17

14 from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

      Psaumes 49

6 Those who trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches--
7 none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him.
8 For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
9 That he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.
10 For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.
12 But man, despite his riches, doesn't endure. He is like the animals that perish.
13 This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.
14 They are appointed as a flock for Sheol . Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol , far from their mansion.
15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol , for he will receive me. Selah.
16 Don't be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.
17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him.
18 Though while he lived he blessed his soul-- and men praise you when you do well for yourself--
19 he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.
20 A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.

      Psaumes 73

3 For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.
5 They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men.
6 Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
7 Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
8 They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
9 They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
18 Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
19 How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
20 As a dream when one wakes up, so, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.

      Proverbes 11

4 Riches don't profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.

      Ecclésiaste 5

13 There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun: wealth kept by its owner to his harm.
14 Those riches perish by misfortune, and if he has fathered a son, there is nothing in his hand.

      Esaïe 13

6 Wail; for the day of Yahweh is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty.

      Esaïe 22

12 In that day, the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, called to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to dressing in sackcloth:
13 and behold, joy and gladness, killing cattle and killing sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine: "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die."

      Jérémie 4

8 For this clothe yourself with sackcloth, lament and wail; for the fierce anger of Yahweh hasn't turned back from us.

      Jérémie 9

      23 Thus says Yahweh, Don't let the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, don't let the rich man glory in his riches;

      Joël 1

5 Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine, because of the sweet wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
11 Be confounded, you farmers! Wail, you vineyard keepers; for the wheat and for the barley; for the harvest of the field has perished.
13 Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests! Wail, you ministers of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God , for the meal offering and the drink offering are withheld from your God's house.

      Amos 6

6 who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best oils; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
7 Therefore they will now go captive with the first who go captive; and the feasting and lounging will end.

12 Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.

      Sophonie 1

18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Yahweh's wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.

      Zacharie 11

2 Wail, fir tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the stately ones are destroyed. Wail, you oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down.
3 A voice of the wailing of the shepherds! For their glory is destroyed: a voice of the roaring of young lions! For the pride of the Jordan is ruined.

      Matthieu 19

23 Jesus said to his disciples, "Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."

      Luc 6

24 "But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.
25 Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

      Luc 12

16 He spoke a parable to them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly.
17 He reasoned within himself, saying, 'What will I do, because I don't have room to store my crops?'
18 He said, 'This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
19 I will tell my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, be merry."'
20 "But God said to him, 'You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared--whose will they be?'
21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

      Luc 16

19 "Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, living in luxury every day.
20 A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 and desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. Yes, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 It happened that the beggar died, and that he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died, and was buried.
23 In Hades , he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.
24 He cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue! For I am in anguish in this flame.'
25 "But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that you, in your lifetime, received your good things, and Lazarus, in the same way, bad things. But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish.

      Luc 23

28 But Jesus, turning to them, said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, don't weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
29 For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.'

      1 Timothée 6

9 But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

      Jacques 1

11 For the sun arises with the scorching wind, and withers the grass, and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in his pursuits.

      Jacques 2

6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Don't the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?

      Jacques 4

9 Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow let's go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit."

      Jacques 5

1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming on you.

      Apocalypse 6

15 The kings of the earth, the princes, the commanding officers, the rich, the strong, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.
16 They told the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,
17 for the great day of his wrath has come; and who is able to stand?"
