Matthieu 5.21

Vous savez bien quels commandements ont été transmis à nos ancêtres : Tu ne commettras pas de meurtre. Si quelqu’un a commis un meurtre, il en répondra devant le tribunal et sera condamné.
Les docteurs juifs enseignaient que rien n’était interdit dans le sixième commandement, à l’exception du meurtre. En fait, ils étaient loin de la signification spirituelle de ce commandement. Christ en a montré la pleine signification : le fait de savoir que nous devrons être jugés plus tard, doit influencer notre conduite actuelle.

Toute colère irréfléchie est en réalité un « meurtre » du cœur. Par le terme « frère », mentionné au verset Matthieu 5:22*, nous devons comprendre toute personne, même si elle n'est pas de notre parenté, car nous sommes tous faits de la même manière.

« Raca », est une parole pleine de mépris, elle est proférée par l’orgueil ; le mot « insensé », quant à lui, exprime la rancune, la haine en est l’origine. Les calomnies et les accusations malveillantes sont des poisons lents et sournois. Christ dit à ces Juifs, que le peu d’importance qu'ils attachaient à ces péchés, les amènerait certainement en jugement, afin que justice soit faite.

Nous devons veiller à être en paix avec tous nos frères et leur manifester un amour qui soit digne de Christ ; si parfois il y a querelle, suite à une mauvaise parole ou conduite, nous devons alors confesser rapidement notre manquement, en nous humiliant devant notre frère ; si nous persistons à rester sur nos positions, nous sommes « indignes » d’une sainte communion avec Dieu, conformément à Ses saintes Ordonnances.

Quand nous nous préparons à rencontrer spirituellement le Seigneur, il est bon de nous examiner nous-mêmes au préalable. Les paroles de ce texte peuvent parfaitement s’appliquer à notre propre existence, en ce qui concerne notre réconciliation avec Dieu, par le biais de Christ !

Tant que nous sommes en vie, ici-bas, nous sommes sur le « chemin du Trône du Jugement » ; après notre mort tout sera consommé...

Quand nous considérons toute l'importance de cet enseignement, conjugué à l’incertitude de la vie, nous devons mesurer combien il est nécessaire de rechercher sans tarder, la Paix avec Dieu !
