  1 Et ce sont ici les fils de David qui lui naquirent à Hébron : le premier-né, Amnon, d'Akhinoam, la Jizreélite ; le second, Daniel, d'Abigaïl, la Carmélite ;
  
  2 le troisième, Absalom, fils de Maaca, fille de Talmaï, roi de Gueshur ; le quatrième, Adonija, fils de Hagguith ;
  
  3 le cinquième, Shephatia, d'Abital ; le sixième, Jithream, d'Égla, sa femme :
  
  4 les six lui naquirent à Hébron. Et il régna là sept ans et six mois, et il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.
  
  5 -Et ceux-ci lui naquirent à Jérusalem : Shimha, et Shobab, et Nathan, et Salomon, quatre de Bath-Shua, fille d'Ammiel ;
  
  6 et Jibkhar, et Elishama,
  
  7 et Éliphéleth, et Nogah, et Népheg,
  
  8 et Japhia, et Elishama, et Éliada, et Éliphéleth, neuf :
  
  9 tous étaient fils de David, outre les fils des concubines, -et Tamar, leur soeur.
  
  10 Et le fils de Salomon : Roboam ; -Abija, son fils ; Asa, son fils ; Josaphat, son fils ;
  
  11 Joram, son fils ; Achazia, son fils ; Joas, son fils ;
  
  12 Amatsia, son fils ; Azaria, son fils ;
  
  13 Jotham, son fils ; Achaz, son fils ; Ézéchias, son fils ; Manassé, son fils ;
  
  14 Amon, son fils ; Josias, son fils.
  
  15 Et les fils de Josias : le premier-né, Jokhanan ; le second, Jehoïakim ; le troisième, Sédécias ; le quatrième Shallum.
  
  16 -Et les fils de Jehoïakim : Jéconias, son fils ; Sédécias, son fils.
  
  17 -Et les fils de Jéconias : Assir ; Shealthiel, son fils ;
  
  18 et Malkiram, et Pedaïa, et Shenatsar, Jekamia, Hoshama, et Nedabia.
  
  19 -Et les fils de Pedaïa : Zorobabel et Shimhi. Et les fils de Zorobabel : Meshullam et Hanania, et Shelomith, leur soeur ;
  
  20 et Hashuba, et Ohel, et Bérékia, et Hasadia, et Jushab-Hésed, cinq.
  
  21 -Et les fils de Hanania : Pelatia et Ésaïe ; les fils de Rephaïa, les fils d'Arnan, les fils d'Abdias, les fils de Shecania.
  
  22 Et les fils de Shecania : Shemahia ; et les fils de Shemahia : Hattush, et Jighal, et Bariakh, et Nearia, et Shaphath, six.
  
  23 -Et les fils de Nearia : Elioénaï, et Ézéchias, et Azrikam, trois.
  
  24 -Et les fils d'Élioénaï : Hodavia, et Éliashib, et Pelaïa, et Akkub, et Jokhanan, et Delaïa, et Anani, sept.

  1 Les fils de Juda : Pérets, Hetsron, et Carmi, et Hur, et Shobal.
  
  2 Et Reaïa, fils de Shobal, engendra Jakhath ; et Jakhath engendra Akhumaï et Lahad. Ce sont les familles des Tsorhathiens.
  
  3 -Et ceux-ci sont du père d'Étam : Jizreël, et Jishma, et Jidbash ; et le nom de leur soeur était Hatselelponi ;
  
  4 et Penuel, père de Guedor ; et Ézer, père de Husha : ce sont les fils de Hur, premier-né d'Éphratha, père de Bethléhem.
  
  5 -Et Ashkhur, père de Thekoa, eut deux femmes, Héléa et Naara.
  
  6 -Et Naara lui enfanta Akhuzzam, et Hépher, et Themni, et Akhashtari : ce sont les fils de Naara.
  
  7 -Et les fils de Hélea : Tséreth, et Tsokhar, et Ethnan.
  
  8 -Et Kots engendra Anub, et Tsobéba, et les familles d'Akharkhel, fils d'Harum.
  
  9 Jahbets fut plus honoré que ses frères ; et sa mère l'avait appelé du nom de Jahbets, disant : Je l'ai enfanté avec douleur.
  
  10 Et Jahbets invoqua le Dieu d'Israël, disant : Si tu me bénissais abondamment, et si tu étendais mes limites, et si ta main était avec moi, et si tu me mettais à l'abri du mal, en sorte que je fusse sans douleur ! Et Dieu fit arriver ce qu'il avait demandé.
  
  11 Et Kelub, frère de Shukha, engendra Mekhir ; il fut père d'Eshton.
  
  12 Et Eshton engendra Beth-Rapha, et Paséakh, et Thekhinna, père de la ville de Nakhash : ce sont les gens de Réca.
  
  13 -Et les fils de Kenaz : Othniel et Seraïa ; et les fils d'Othniel : Hathath.
  
  14 Méonothaï engendra Ophra ; et Seraïa engendra Joab, père de la vallée des artisans ; car ils étaient artisans.
  
  15 -Et les fils de Caleb, fils de Jephunné : Iru, Éla, et Naam ; et les fils d'Éla,... et Kenaz.
  
  16 -Et les fils de Jehalléleël : Ziph, et Zipha, Tiria, et Asçareël.
  
  17 -Et les fils d'Esdras : Jéther, et Méred, et Épher, et Jalon ; et elle conçut, et enfanta Miriam, et Shammaï, et Jishbakh, père d'Eshtemoa.
  
  18 Et sa femme, la Juive, enfanta Jéred, père de Guedor, et Héber, père de Soco, et Jekuthiel, père de Zanoakh. Et ceux-là sont les fils de Bithia, fille du Pharaon, que Méred prit pour femme.
  
  19 -Et les fils de la femme d'Hodija, soeur de Nakham : le père de Kehila, le Garmien, et Eshtemoa, le Maacathien.
  
  20 -Et les fils de Shimon : Amnon, et Rinna, Ben-Hanan, et Thilon. -Et les fils de Jishi : Zokheth et Ben-Zokheth.
  
  21 Les fils de Shéla, fils de Juda : Er, père de Léca, et Lahda, père de Marésha, et les familles de la maison des ouvriers en byssus de la maison d'Ashbéa,
  
  22 et Jokim, et les gens de Cozéba, et Joas, et Saraph, qui dominèrent en Moab, et Jashubi-Lékhem. Ce sont des choses anciennes.
  
  23 C'étaient les potiers, et les gens qui se tenaient dans les plantations et dans les enclos ; ils habitaient là, auprès du roi, pour ses travaux.
  
  24 Les fils de Siméon : Nemuel, et Jamin, Jarib, Zérakh, et Saül ;
  
  25 Shallum, son fils ; Mibsam, son fils ; Mishma, son fils.
  
  26 Et les fils de Mishma : Hammuel, son fils ; Zaccur, son fils ; Shimhi, son fils.
  
  27 Et Shimhi eut seize fils et six filles. Et ses frères n'eurent pas beaucoup de fils, et toutes leurs familles ne se multiplièrent pas comme les fils de Juda.
  
  28 Et ils habitèrent à Beër-Sheba, et à Molada,
  
  29 et à Hatsar-Shual, et à Bilha, et à Etsem, et à Tholad,
  
  30 et à Bethuel, et à Horma, et à Tsiklag,
  
  31 et à Beth-Marcaboth, et à Hatsar-Susim, et à Beth-Biri, et à Shaaraïm. Ce furent leurs villes jusqu'au règne de David.
  
  32 Et leurs villages : Étam, et Aïn, Rimmon, et Thoken, et Ashan, cinq villes,
  
  33 et tous leurs villages qui étaient autour de ces villes, jusqu'à Baal. Ce sont là leurs habitations et leur registre généalogique.
  
  34 -Et Meshobab, et Jamlec, et Josha, fils d'Amatsia ;
  
  35 et Joël, et Jéhu, fils de Joshibia, fils de Seraïa, fils d'Asciel ;
  
  36 et Elioénaï, et Jaakoba, et Jeshokhaïa, et Asçaïa, et Adiel, et Jescimiel, et Benaïa,
  
  37 et Ziza, fils de Shiphi, fils d'Allon, fils de Jedaïa, fils de Shimri, fils de Shemahia.
  
  38 Ceux-ci, mentionnés par nom, furent princes dans leurs familles ; et leurs maisons de pères se répandirent beaucoup.
  
  39 Et ils allèrent à l'entrée de Guedor, jusqu'à l'orient de la vallée, pour chercher des pâturages pour leur menu bétail ;
  
  40 et ils trouvèrent un pâturage gras et bon, et un pays spacieux, et paisible et fertile ; car ceux qui avaient habité là auparavant étaient de Cham.
  
  41 Et ceux-ci, écrits par nom, vinrent au temps d'Ézéchias, rois de Juda ; et ils frappèrent leurs tentes et les Maonites qui se trouvaient là, et les détruisirent entièrement, jusqu'à ce jour, et habitèrent à leur place ; car il y avait là des pâturages pour leur menu bétail.
  
  42 Et cinq cents hommes d'entre eux, des fils de Siméon, s'en allèrent à la montagne de Séhir ; et ils avaient à leur tête Pelatia, et Nearia, et Rephaïa, et Uziel, les fils de Jishi ;
  
  43 et ils frappèrent le reste des réchappés d'Amalek ; et ils ont habité là jusqu'à ce jour.

  1 Et les fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël (car il était le premier-né, mais, parce qu'il avait profané le lit de son père, son droit de premier-né fut donné au fils de Joseph, fils d'Israël, mais Joseph n'a pas la primogéniture dans le registre généalogique ;
  
  2 car Juda eut la prééminence au milieu de ses frères, et le prince sort de lui ; mais le droit de premier-né fut à Joseph) ;
  
  3 -les fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël : Hénoc et Pallu, Hetsron et Carmi.
  
  4 Les fils de Joël : Shemahia, son fils ; Gog, son fils ;
  
  5 Shimhi, son fils ; Michée, son fils ; Reaïa, son fils ; Baal, son fils ;
  
  6 Beéra, son fils, que Tilgath-Pilnéser, roi d'Assyrie, emmena captif : lui était le prince des Rubénites.
  
  7 Et ses frères, selon leurs familles dans le registre généalogique de leurs générations : le chef Jehiel, et Zacharie,
  
  8 et Béla, fils d'Azaz, fils de Shéma, fils de Joël ; lui habitait à Aroër, et jusqu'à Nebo et Baal-Méon ;
  
  9 et il habita au levant jusqu'à l'entrée du désert, du côté du fleuve Euphrate, car leurs troupeaux s'étaient multipliés dans le pays de Galaad.
  
  10 aux jours de Saül, ils firent la guerre contre les Hagaréniens, et ceux-ci tombèrent par leur main ; et ils habitèrent dans leurs tentes, dans tout le pays à l'orient de Galaad.
  
  11 Et les fils de Gad habitèrent à côté d'eux dans le pays de Basan, jusqu'à Salca :
  
  12 Joël, le chef, et Shapham, le second ; et Jahnaï et Shaphath, en Basan.
  
  13 Et leurs frères, selon leurs maisons de pères : Micaël, et Meshullam, et Shéba, et Joraï, et Jahcan, et Zia, et Éber, sept.
  
  14 -Ceux-ci furent les fils d'Abikhaïl, fils de Huri, fils de Jaroakh, fils de Galaad, fils de Micaël, fils de Jeshishaï, fils de Jakhdo, fils de Buz :
  
  15 fils d'Abdiel, fils de Guni, chef de leur maison de pères.
  
  16 Et ils habitèrent en Galaad, en Basan, et dans les villages de leur ressort, et dans tous les pâturages de Saron jusqu'à leurs issues.
  
  17 -Ils furent tous enregistrés dans les généalogies, aux jours de Jotham, roi de Juda, et aux jours de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël.
  
  18 Les fils de Ruben, et les Gadites, et la demi-tribu de Manassé, d'entre les vaillants, des hommes portant l'écu et l'épée, tirant de l'arc, et instruits pour la guerre : quarante-deux mille sept cent soixante, en état d'aller à l'armée.
  
  19 Ils firent la guerre contre les Hagaréniens, contre Jetur, et Naphish, et Nodab ;
  
  20 et ils furent aidés contre eux, et les Hagaréniens, et tous ceux qui étaient avec eux furent livrés en leur main ; car ils crièrent à Dieu dans la bataille, et il se rendit à leurs prières, car ils avaient mis leur confiance en lui.
  
  21 Et ils prirent leurs troupeaux, cinquante mille chameaux, et deux cent cinquante mille moutons, et deux mille ânes, et en hommes, cent mille,
  
  22 car il en tomba morts un grand nombre, parce que la bataille venait de Dieu : et ils habitèrent à leur place jusqu'à la transportation.
  
  23 Et les fils de la demi-tribu de Manassé habitèrent dans le pays, depuis Basan jusqu'à Baal-Hermon, et à Senir, et à la montagne de l'Hermon : ils étaient nombreux.
  
  24 Et ce sont ici les chefs de leurs maisons de pères : Épher, et Jishi, et Éliel, et Azriel, et Jérémie, et Hodavia, et Jakhdiel, forts et vaillants hommes, gens de renom, chefs de leurs maisons de pères.
  
  25 Mais ils péchèrent contre le Dieu de leurs pères, et se prostituèrent après les dieux des peuples du pays, que Dieu avait détruits devant eux.
  
  26 Et le Dieu d'Israël réveilla l'esprit de Pul, roi d'Assyrie, et l'esprit de Tilgath-Pilnéser, roi d'Assyrie, et il transporta les Rubénites, et les Gadites, et la demi-tribu de Manassé, et les emmena à Khalakh, et à Khabor, et à Hara, et au fleuve de Gozan, où ils sont jusqu'à ce jour.

  1 Voici la liste des fils de David qui lui naquirent à Hébron. Le premier-né s’appelait Amnôn, il était fils d’Ahinoam de Jizreél ; le deuxième, Daniel, était fils d’Abigaïl de Karmel ;
  
  2 le troisième, Absalom, était le fils de Maaka, fille de Talmaï, le roi de Guechour ; le quatrième, Adoniya, était le fils de Haggith ;
  
  3 le cinquième, Chephatia, d’Abital ; le sixième, Yitream, de sa femme Egla.
  
  4 Ces six fils lui naquirent à Hébron, où il régna sept ans et six mois. Il régna ensuite trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.
  
  5 Voici les enfants qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem : Chimea, Chobab, Nathan, Salomon, tous les quatre de Bath-Choua, fille d’Ammiel.
  
  6 Il eut encore : Yibhar, Elichama, Eliphéleth,
  
  7 Noga, Néphég, Yaphia,
  
  8 Elichama, Elyada et Eliphéleth, soit neuf autres fils de David.
  
  9 Ses épouses de second rang lui donnèrent aussi des fils. Tamar était leur sœur.
  
  10 Les descendants de Salomon, en ligne directe de père en fils, furent : Roboam, Abiya, Asa, Josaphat,
  
  11 Yoram, Ahazia, Joas,
  
  12 Amatsia, Azaria, Yotam,
  
  13 Ahaz, Ezéchias, Manassé,
  
  14 Amôn, Josias.
  
  15 Fils de Josias : le premier-né, Yohanân ; le second, Yehoyaqim ; le troisième, Sédécias ; le quatrième, Challoum.
  
  16 Fils de Yehoyaqim : Yekonia et Sédécias.
  
  17 Descendants de Yekonia, qui fut emmené en captivité : Chealtiel, son fils,
  
  18 et Malkiram, Pedaya, Chénatsar, Yeqamia, Hochama et Nedabia.
  
  19 Fils de Pedaya : Zorobabel et Chimeï. Zorobabel eut deux fils : Mechoullam et Hanania ; Chelomith était leur sœur.
  
  20 Puis Hachouba, Ohel, Bérékia, Hasadia, Youchab-Hésed, soit cinq.
  
  21 Descendants de Hanania : Pelatia et Esaïe ; les fils de Rephaya, ceux d’Arnân, d’Abdias, et Chekania.
  
  22 Chekania eut six fils : Chemaeya, Hattouch, Yigueal, Bariah, Nearia et Chaphath.
  
  23 Nearia eut trois fils : Elyoénaï, Ezéchias et Azriqam.
  
  24 Elyoénaï eut sept fils : Hodavyahou, Eliachib, Pelaya, Aqoub, Yohanân, Delaya et Anani.

  1 Descendants de Juda : Pérets, Hetsrôn, Karmi, Hour et Chobal.
  
  2 Reaya, fils de Chobal, fut le père de Yahath, et Yahath celui de Ahoumaï et Lahad. Ce sont les ancêtres des familles des Tsoreatiens.
  
  3 Fils d’Etam : Jizreél, Yichma et Yidbah, et leur sœur Hatselelponi.
  
  4 Penouel était le père de Guedor et Ezer celui de Houcha. Ce sont là les fils de Hour, premier-né d’Ephrata, père de Bethléhem.
  
  5 Achhour, père de Teqoa, eut deux femmes, Hélea et Naara.
  
  6 Naara lui donna ces fils : Ahouzzam, Hépher, Témeni et Ahachtari.
  
  7 Hélea lui donna ces fils : Tséréth, Tsohar et Etnân.
  
  8 Qots fut le père d’Anoub et de Hatsobéba, et les familles d’Aharehél, fils d’Haroum.
  
  9 Yaebets était plus considéré que ses frères, sa mère lui avait donné le nom de Yaebets en disant : « C’est parce que je l’ai enfanté dans la douleur. »
  
  10 Yaebets invoqua le Dieu d’Israël en disant : « Si tu me bénis réellement et si tu agrandis mon territoire, si tu es avec moi, si tu éloignes de moi le malheur pour m’épargner la souffrance... » Et Dieu lui accorda ce qu’il avait demandé.
  
  11 Keloub, frère de Chouha, eut pour fils Mehir, qui fut le père d’Echtôn.
  
  12 Echtôn fut le père de Beth-Rapha, Paséah et Tehinna, le père de Ir Nahach. Ce sont là les gens qui habitèrent Réka.
  
  13 Fils de Qenaz : Otniel et Seraya. Fils d’Otniel : Hatath
  
  14 et Meonotaï qui fut le père d’Ophra. Seraya fut le père de Joab qui fut celui de Ge Harashim.
  
  15 Fils de Caleb, fils de Yephounné : Irou, Ela et Naam. Qenaz fut le fils d’Ela.
  
  16 Fils de Yehalléleél : Ziph, Zipha, Tirya et Asareel.
  
  17 Fils d’Esdras : Yeter, Méred, Epher et Yalôn. Méred épousa Bitya, une fille du pharaon, qui conçut Miryam, Chammaï et Yichbah, le père d’Echtemoa. De sa femme judéenne, il eut Yéred, le père de Guedor, Héber, celui de Soko et Yeqoutiel, celui de Zanoah.
  
  19 Fils de la femme de Hodiya, sœur de Naham : le père de Qeïla, le Garmite et d’Echtemoa, le Maakathite.
  
  20 Fils de Simon : Amnôn, Rinna, Ben-Hanan et Tilôn. Fils de Yicheï : Zoheth et Ben-Zoheth.
  
  21 Descendants de Chéla, fils de Juda : Er, père de Léka, Laeda, père de Marécha, et les familles qui travaillent le byssus à Beth-Achbéa,
  
  22 Yoqim, les hommes de Kozéba, Yoach et Saraph, qui dominèrent sur Moab, et sur Yachoubi-Léhem. Ces choses sont anciennes.
  
  23 C’étaient des potiers qui habitaient à Netaïm et Guedéra près du roi et travaillaient pour lui.
  
  24 Fils de Siméon : Nemouel, Yamîn, Yarib, Zérah, Saül.
  
  25 Son fils : Challoum, son fils Mibsam, son fils Michma.
  
  26 Michma eut pour fils Hammouel, Zakkour et Chimeï.
  
  27 Chimeï eut seize fils et six filles. Ses frères n’eurent pas beaucoup de fils. C’est pourquoi les familles de Siméon ne se multiplièrent pas autant que les descendants de Juda.
  
  28 Elles habitaient à Beer-Chéba, à Molada, à Hatsar-Choual,
  
  29 à Bilha, à Etsém, à Tolad,
  
  30 à Betouel, à Horma, à Tsiqlag,
  
  31 à Beth-Markaboth, à Hatsar-Sousim, à Beth-Bireï et à Chaaraïm. Telles furent leurs villes jusqu’au règne de David,
  
  32 et leurs villages étaient au nombre de cinq : Etam, Aïn, Rimmôn, Tokên et Achân.
  
  33 Il faut ajouter tous les villages qui sont aux alentours de ces villes, jusqu’à *Baal. Telles furent leurs habitations et leur généalogie.
  
  34 Mechobad ; Yamlek ; Yocha, fils d’Amatsia ;
  
  35 Joël, Jéhu, fils de Yochibia, fils de Seraya, fils de Asiel,
  
  36 Elyoénaï, Yaaqoba ; Yechohaya, Asaya, Adiel, Yesimiel, Benaya,
  
  37 Ziza, fils de Chipheï, et petit-fils d’Allôn, lui-même descendant de Yedaya, de Chimri et de Chemaeya.
  
  38 Ces hommes qui viennent d’être nommés étaient les chefs de leurs familles, leurs groupes familiaux devinrent très nombreux
  
  39 et ils se dispersèrent jusqu’à l’entrée de Guedor, à l’est de la vallée, afin de chercher des pâturages pour leurs moutons et chèvres.
  
  40 Ils trouvèrent de gras et bons pâturages, et un pays vaste, tranquille et paisible ; ceux qui l’habitaient auparavant descendaient de Cham.
  
  41 Du temps d’Ezéchias, roi de Juda, ces hommes qui viennent d’être cités arrivèrent dans cette région, détruisirent les lieux d’habitation et les abris qui se trouvaient là, ils exterminèrent les habitants pour les *vouer à l’Eternel, et ceux-ci ont disparu jusqu’à ce jour. Puis ils s’établirent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leur petit bétail.
  
  42 Il y eut aussi cinq cents descendants de Siméon, qui se rendirent dans la région montagneuse de Séir, avec, à leur tête, Pelatia, Nearia, Rephaya et Ouzziel, les fils de Yicheï.
  
  43 Ils tuèrent le reste des rescapés d’Amalec, et ont habité là jusqu’à aujourd’hui.

  1 Ruben était le premier-né d’Israël, mais parce qu’il avait eu des relations sexuelles avec l’une des femmes de son père, son droit d’aînesse fut donné aux fils de Joseph, fils d’Israël ; ainsi Ruben ne fut pas recensé comme l’aîné.
  
  2 Juda fut puissant parmi ses frères, et de lui est issu le prince d’Israël, mais le droit d’aînesse appartenait à Joseph.
  
  3 Fils de Ruben, premier-né d’Israël : Hénok, Pallou, Hetsrôn et Karmi.
  
  4 Descendants de Joël, de père en fils : Chemaeya, Gog, Chimeï ;
  
  5 Michée, Reaya, Baal,
  
  6 Beéra, un chef des Rubénites que Tiglath-Piléser, roi d’Assyrie, emmena en captivité.
  
  7 Les hommes apparentés à Beéra, cités par familles selon leurs listes généalogiques sont : le chef Yeïel, Zacharie,
  
  8 Béla, fils d’Azaz, petit-fils de Chéma, le fils de Joël. Ces hommes habitaient à Aroër et dans le territoire qui va jusqu’au mont Nébo et Baal-Meôn.
  
  9 A l’est, ils s’étaient implantés jusqu’à l’entrée du désert qui s’étend jusqu’à l’Euphrate, car leur cheptel était nombreux dans le pays de Galaad.
  
  10 Du temps de Saül, ils firent la guerre aux Hagaréniens, qui furent vaincus par eux ; ils s’installèrent dans leurs habitations dans la partie orientale de Galaad.
  
  11 Les descendants de Gad habitaient sur le plateau du *Basan et jusqu’à Salka.
  
  12 Le groupe familial le plus important fut celui de Joël, puis, en deuxième, celui de Chapham, puis celui de Yaenaï et celui de Chaphath.
  
  13 Il y avait à côté d’eux sept groupes familiaux : ceux de Mikaël, Mechoullam, Chéba, Yoraï, Yaekan, Zia et Eber.
  
  14 Ils étaient les fils d’Abihaïl, fils de Houri, dont les ascendants en ligne directe étaient Yaroah, Galaad, Mikaël, Yechichaï, Yahdo et Bouz.
  
  15 Ahi, fils d’Abdiel et petit-fils de Gouni, était le chef de leurs groupes familiaux.
  
  16 Ils habitaient en Galaad, en Basan et dans les localités qui en dépendent, ainsi que dans tous les pâturages du Sarôn jusqu’à leur extrême limite.
  
  17 Ils furent tous recensés dans les généalogies, du temps de Yotam, roi de Juda, et du temps de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël.
  
  18 Les membres des tribus de Ruben, de Gad et de la demi-tribu de Manassé avaient 44 760 vaillants soldats capables de manier le bouclier et l’épée, ou tirant à l’arc. Ils étaient exercés à la guerre et prêts à combattre.
  
  19 Ils firent la guerre aux Hagaréniens et à Yetour, Nappich et Nodab.
  
  20 Dieu les secourut et leur donna la victoire sur les Hagaréniens et tous leurs alliés, parce qu’ils l’en avaient imploré pendant la bataille. Il les exauça parce qu’ils lui avaient fait confiance.
  
  21 Ils s’emparèrent de tout leur bétail, à savoir : 50 000 chameaux, 250 000 moutons et chèvres et 2 000 ânes ; de plus, ils firent 100 000 prisonniers.
  
  22 Beaucoup d’ennemis furent aussi tués, car ce combat était entre les mains de Dieu. Ils s’installèrent à leur place et y demeurèrent jusqu’à l’exil.
  
  23 Les descendants de la demi-tribu de Manassé habitaient dans le pays qui allait du Basan à Baal-Hermon, Senir, et la montagne de l’Hermon ; ils étaient nombreux.
  
  24 Voici les noms des chefs de leurs groupes familiaux : Epher, Yicheï, Eliel, Azriel, Jérémie, Hodavia et Yahdiel ; c’étaient tous de vaillants hommes de guerre, des gens renommés, ces chefs de leurs groupes familiaux.
  
  25 Mais, par la suite, les descendants de ces tribus furent infidèles au Dieu de leurs ancêtres et se *prostituèrent aux dieux des peuples du pays, que Dieu avait détruits devant eux.
  
  26 C’est pourquoi le Dieu d’Israël incita le roi d’Assyrie Poul, c’est-à-dire Tiglath-Piléser roi d’Assyrie, à déporter les membres des tribus de Ruben, de Gad et de la demi-tribu de Manassé : il les exila à Halah, Habor et Hara, et sur les rives du fleuve de Gozân, où ils sont demeurés jusqu’à ce jour.

  2 the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
  
  3 the fifth, Shephatiah of Abital; the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife:
  
  4 six were born to him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months. In Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years;
  
  5 and these were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel;

  15 The sons of Josiah: the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum.
  
  16 The sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son.
  
  17 The sons of Jeconiah, the captive: Shealtiel his son,
  
  18 and Malchiram, and Pedaiah, and Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
  
  19 The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel, and Shimei. The sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam, and Hananiah; and Shelomith was their sister;
  
  20 and Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and Hasadiah, Jushab Hesed, five.
  
  21 The sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah, and Jeshaiah; the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, the sons of Shecaniah.
  
  22 The sons of Shecaniah: Shemaiah. The sons of Shemaiah: Hattush, and Igal, and Bariah, and Neariah, and Shaphat, six.
  
  23 The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, and Hizkiah, and Azrikam, three.

  1 The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
  
  2 Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath; and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
  
  3 These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi;
  
  4 and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
  
  5 Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
  
  6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
  
  7 The sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
  
  8 Hakkoz became the father of Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
  
  9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers: and his mother named him Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him with sorrow."
  
  10 Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow!" God granted him that which he requested.
  
  11 Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
  
  12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.
  
  13 The sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.
  
  14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah: and Seraiah became the father of Joab the father of Ge Harashim; for they were craftsmen.
  
  15 The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah; and Kenaz.
  
  16 The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
  
  17 The sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she bore Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
  
  18 His wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.
  
  19 The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
  
  20 The sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben Zoheth.
  
  21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
  
  22 and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. The records are ancient.
  
  23 These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah: there they lived with the king for his work.
  
  24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
  
  25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
  
  26 The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
  
  27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers didn't have many children, neither did all their family multiply like the children of Judah.
  
  28 They lived at Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,
  
  29 and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,
  
  30 and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,
  
  31 and at Beth Marcaboth, and Hazar Susim, and at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities to the reign of David.
  
  32 Their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;
  
  33 and all their villages that were around the same cities, to Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy.
  
  34 Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,
  
  35 and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
  
  36 and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
  
  37 and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah--
  
  38 these mentioned by name were princes in their families: and their fathers' houses increased greatly.
  
  39 They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
  
  40 They found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for those who lived there before were of Ham.
  
  41 These written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and struck their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and destroyed them utterly to this day, and lived in their place; because there was pasture there for their flocks.
  
  42 Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
  
  43 They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.

  1 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, because he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.
  
  2 For Judah prevailed above his brothers, and of him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph's:)

  11 The sons of Gad lived over against them, in the land of Bashan to Salecah:
  
  12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
  
  13 Their brothers of their fathers' houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.
  
  14 These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
  
  15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers' houses.
  
  16 They lived in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, as far as their borders.
  
  17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
  
  18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, that were able to go forth to war.
  
  19 They made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
  
  20 They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was entreated of them, because they put their trust in him.
  
  21 They took away their livestock; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.
  
  22 For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.
  
  23 The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land: they increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon and Senir and Mount Hermon.
  
  24 These were the heads of their fathers' houses: even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.
  
  25 They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
  
  26 The God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
