  10 et Jokhanan engendra Azaria : c'est lui qui exerça la sacrificature dans la maison que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem.
  
  11 Et Azaria engendra Amaria, et Amaria engendra Akhitub,
  
  12 et Akhitub engendra Tsadok, et Tsadok engendra Shallum,
  
  13 et Shallum engendra Hilkija, et Hilkija engendra Azaria,
  
  14 et Azaria engendra Seraïa, et Seraïa engendra Jotsadak,
  
  15 et Jotsadak partit quand l'Éternel transporta Juda et Jérusalem par la main de Nebucadnetsar.
  
  16 Les fils de Lévi : Guershom, Kehath, et Merari.
  
  17 -Et ce sont ici les noms des fils de Guershom : Libni et Shimhi.
  
  18 Et les fils de Kehath : Amram, et Jitsehar, et Hébron, et Uziel.
  
  19 Les fils de Merari : Makhli et Mushi. -Ce sont là les familles de Lévi, selon leurs pères.
  
  20 De Guershom : Libni, son fils ; Jakhath, sont fils ; Zimma, son fils ;
  
  21 Joakh, son fils ; Iddo, son fils ; Zérakh, son fils ; Jathraï, son fils.
  
  22 Les fils de Kehath : Amminadab, son fils ; Coré, son fils ; Assir, son fils ;
  
  23 Elkana, son fils ; et Ébiasaph, son fils ; et Assir, son fils ;
  
  24 Thakhath, son fils ; Uriel, son fils ; Ozias, son fils ; et Saül, son fils.
  
  25 -Et les fils d'Elkana : Amasçaï et Akhimoth.
  
  26 Elkana, -les fils d'Elkana : Tsophaï, son fils ; et Nakhath, son fils ;
  
  27 Éliab, son fils ; Jerokham, son fils ; Elkana, son fils.
  
  28 Et les fils de Samuel : le premier-né, Vashni, et Abija.

  31 Et ce sont ici ceux que David établit pour la direction du chant dans la maison de l'Éternel, depuis que l'arche fut en repos.
  
  32 Et ils faisaient le service devant le tabernacle de la tente d'assignation, pour le chant, jusqu'à ce que Salomon eût bâti la maison de l'Éternel à Jérusalem ; et ils se tinrent là selon l'ordre établi pour leur service.
  
  33 Et ce sont ici ceux qui se tenaient là, et leurs fils : Des fils des Kehathites : Héman, le chantre, fils de Joël, fils de Samuel,
  
  34 fils d'Elkana, fils de Jerokham, fils d'Éliel, fils de Thoakh,
  
  35 Fils de Tsuph, fils d'Elkana, fils de Makhath,
  
  36 fils d'Amasçaï, fils d'Elkana, fils de Joël, fils d'Azaria, fils de Sophonie,
  
  37 fils de Thakhath, fils d'Assir, fils d'Ébiasaph, fils de Coré,
  
  38 fils de Jitsehar, fils de Kehath, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël.
  
  39 Et son frère Asaph, qui se tenait à sa droite : Asaph, fils de Bérékia,
  
  40 fils de Shimha, fils de Micaël, fils de Baascéïa, fils de Malkija,
  
  41 fils d'Ethni, fils de Zérakh,
  
  42 fils d'Adaïa, fils d'Éthan, fils de Zimma,
  
  43 fils de Shimhi, fils de Jakhath, fils de Guershom, fils de Lévi.
  
  44 Et les fils de Merari, leurs frères, à la gauche : Éthan, fils de Kishi, fils d'Abdi, fils de Malluc,
  
  45 fils de Hashabia, fils d'Amatsia,
  
  46 fils de Hilkija, fils d'Amtsi, fils de Bani,
  
  47 fils de Shémer, fils de Makhli, fils de Mushi, fils de Merari, fils de Lévi.
  
  48 Et leurs frères, les Lévites, furent donnés pour tout le service du tabernacle de la maison de Dieu.
  
  49 Et Aaron et ses fils faisaient ce qui se brûlait sur l'autel de l'holocauste et sur l'autel de l'encens, pour tout le service du lieu très-saint, et pour faire propitiation pour Israël, selon tout ce que Moïse, serviteur de Dieu, avait commandé.
  
  50 Et ce sont ici les fils d'Aaron : Éléazar, son fils ; Phinées, son fils ;
  
  51 Abishua, son fils ; Bukki, son fils ; Uzzi, son fils ; Zerakhia, son fils ;
  
  52 Meraïoth, son fils ; Amaria, son fils ;
  
  53 Akhitub, son fils ; Tsadok, son fils ; Akhimaats, son fils.
  
  54 Et ce sont ici leurs habitations, selon leurs enclos, dans leurs confins. -Pour les fils d'Aaron, de la famille des Kehathites, car le sort tomba pour eux :
  
  55 et on leur donna Hébron, dans le pays de Juda, et sa banlieue autour d'elle ;
  
  56 mais la campagne de la ville et ses hameaux, on les donna à Caleb, fils de Jephunné.
  
  57 Et aux fils d'Aaron on donna la ville de refuge : Hébron ; et Libna et sa banlieue, et Jatthir, et Eshtemoa et sa banlieue,
  
  58 et Hilen et sa banlieue, et Debir et sa banlieue,
  
  59 et Ashan et sa banlieue, et Beth-Shémesh et sa banlieue ;
  
  60 et de la tribu de Benjamin : Guéba et sa banlieue, et Allémeth et sa banlieue, et Anathoth et sa banlieue. Toutes leurs villes : treize villes, selon leurs familles.
  
  61 Et aux autres fils de Kehath on donna, part le sort, dix villes, des familles de la tribu d'Éphraïm et de la tribu de Dan et de la moitié de la tribu de Manassé ;
  
  62 et aux fils de Guershom, selon leurs familles, treize villes, de la tribu d'Issacar, et de la tribu d'Aser, et de la tribu de Nephthali, et de la tribu de Manassé, en Basan ;
  
  63 et aux fils de Merari, selon leurs familles, par le sort, douze villes, de la tribu de Ruben, et de la tribu de Gad, et de la tribu de Zabulon.
  
  64 Et les fils d'Israël donnèrent aux Lévites les villes et leurs banlieues.
  
  65 Et ils donnèrent, par le sort, de la tribu des fils de Juda, et de la tribu des fils de Siméon, et de la tribu des fils de Benjamin, ces villes-là, qu'ils nommèrent par leurs noms.
  
  66 Et pour les familles des fils de Kehath qui eurent les villes de leur territoire de la tribu d'Éphraïm,
  
  67 on leur donna la ville de refuge : Sichem et sa banlieue, dans la montagne d'Éphraïm, et Guézer et sa banlieue,
  
  68 et Jokmeam et sa banlieue, et Beth-Horon et sa banlieue,
  
  69 et Ajalon et sa banlieue ; et Gath-Rimmon et sa banlieue ;
  
  70 et de la demi-tribu de Manassé : Aner et sa banlieue, et Bilham et sa banlieue, -pour les familles des autres fils de Kehath.
  
  71 Aux fils de Guershom, on donna, de la famille de la demi-tribu de Manassé : Golan, en Basan, et sa banlieue, et Ashtaroth et sa banlieue ;
  
  72 et de la tribu d'Issacar : Kédesh et sa banlieue, Dobrath et sa banlieue,
  
  73 et Ramoth et sa banlieue, et Anem et sa banlieue ;
  
  74 et de la tribu d'Aser : Mashal et sa banlieue, et Abdon et sa banlieue,
  
  75 et Hukok et sa banlieue, et Rehob et sa banlieue ;
  
  76 et de la tribu de Nepthali : Kédesh, en Galilée, et sa banlieue, et Hammon et sa banlieue, et Kiriathaïm et sa banlieue.
  
  77 Aux fils de Merari qui restaient, on donna, de la tribu de Zabulon : Rimmono et sa banlieue, et Thabor et sa banlieue ;
  
  78 et au delà du Jourdain de Jéricho, à l'orient du Jourdain, de la tribu de Ruben ; Bétser, au désert, et sa banlieue,
  
  79 et Jahtsa et sa banlieue, et Kedémoth et sa banlieue, et Méphaath et sa banlieue ;
  
  80 et de la tribu de Gad : Ramoth, en Galaad, et sa banlieue, et Mahanaïm et sa banlieue,
  
  81 et Hesbon et sa banlieue, et Jahzer et sa banlieue.

  17 Ils exerçaient déjà leur service par le chant devant le *tabernacle, la *tente de la Rencontre, jusqu’à ce que Salomon eût bâti le Temple de l’Eternel à Jérusalem, et ils exerçaient leur fonction d’après la règle qui leur avait été prescrite.
  
  18 Voici ceux qui accomplissaient ce service avec leurs fils. Parmi les Qehatites, Hémân officiait comme musicien. Ses ascendants en ligne directe étaient : Joël, Samuel,
  
  19 Elqana, Yeroham, Eliel, Toah,
  
  20 Tsouph, Elqana, Mahath, Amasaï,
  
  21 Elqana, Joël, Azaria, Sophonie,
  
  22 Tahath, Assir, Ebyasaph, Qoré,
  
  23 Yitsehar, Qehath, Lévi, fils d’Israël.
  
  24 A la droite de Hémân se tenait Asaph, membre de la même tribu, dont les ascendants de fils en père étaient Bérékiahou, Chimea,
  
  25 Mikaël, Baaséya, Malkiya,
  
  26 Etni, Zérah, Adaya,
  
  27 Etân, Zimma, Chimeï,
  
  28 Yahath, Guerchom, fils de Lévi.
  
  29 Sur la gauche se tenait Etân, des descendants de Merari, membres de la même tribu qu’eux. Les ascendants d’Etân en ligne directe étaient : Qichi, Abdi, Mallouk,
  
  30 Hachabia, Amatsia, Hilqiya,
  
  31 Amtsi, Bani, Chémer,
  
  32 Mahli, Mouchi, Merari, Lévi.
  
  33 Les autres lévites étaient affectés à toutes les autres tâches afférentes au sanctuaire de Dieu.
  
  34 Aaron et ses descendants offraient les sacrifices sur l’autel des *holocaustes et les parfums sur l’autel des parfums ; ils accomplissaient toutes les tâches relatives au lieu très-saint et faisaient le rite d’*expiation pour Israël, conformément à tout ce qu’avait ordonné Moïse, serviteur de Dieu.
  
  35 Voici la liste des descendants d’Aaron de père en fils : Eléazar, Phinéas, Abichoua,
  
  36 Bouqqi, Ouzzi, Zerahya,
  
  37 Merayoth, Amaria, Ahitoub,
  
  38 Tsadoq et Ahimaats.
  
  39 Voici la liste des territoires avec leurs enclos attribués aux descendants d’Aaron, de la famille des Qehatites, auxquels fut attribué par le sort un lot :
  
  40 Hébron, dans le pays de Juda, avec les terres attenantes ;
  
  41 mais les champs et les villages qui dépendaient de la ville furent donnés à Caleb, fils de Yephounné.
  
  42 On donna aux descendants d’Aaron Hébron, la ville de refuge, et les villes suivantes avec leurs terres attenantes : Libna, Yattir, Echtemoa,
  
  43 Hilên, Debir,
  
  44 Achân, Beth-Chémech.
  
  45 Dans le territoire de la tribu de Benjamin, ils reçurent, avec leurs terres attenantes : Guéba, Allémeth, Anatoth. Ils reçurent donc au total treize villes réparties entre leurs familles.
  
  46 Les autres Qehatites obtinrent par tirage au sort dix villes situées dans les territoires des familles de la tribu [d’Ephraïm, de la tribu de Dan et ] de la demi-tribu de Manassé.
  
  47 Les Guerchonites obtinrent pour leurs familles treize villes situées dans les territoires des tribus d’Issacar, d’Aser, de Nephtali et de la tribu de Manassé établie dans le *Basan.
  
  48 Les Merarites reçurent pour leurs familles, par tirage au sort, douze villes situées dans les territoires des tribus de Ruben, de Gad et de Zabulon.
  
  49 Les Israélites attribuèrent ces villes et les terres attenantes aux lévites.
  
  50 Ils attribuèrent par tirage au sort ces villes désignées par leur nom et situées dans le territoire des tribus de Juda, de Siméon et de Benjamin.
  
  51 Les autres familles des Qehatites obtinrent pour domaine des villes situées dans le territoire de la tribu d’Ephraïm
  
  52 avec leurs terres attenantes : Sichem, la ville de refuge, dans la région montagneuse d’Ephraïm, Guézer,
  
  53 Yoqmeam, Beth-Horôn,
  
  54 Ayalôn, Gath-Rimmôn.
  
  55 Dans le territoire de la demi-tribu de Manassé, ils reçurent, avec leurs terres attenantes : Aner et Bileam. Voilà ce que reçurent les autres familles des descendants de Qehath.
  
  56 Les descendants de Guerchom reçurent : dans le territoire des familles de la demi-tribu de Manassé les villes suivantes, avec leurs terres attenantes : Golân, dans le Basan, et Achtaroth.
  
  57 Dans le territoire de la tribu d’Issacar, ils reçurent, avec leurs terres attenantes : Qédech, Dobrath,
  
  58 Ramoth et Anem.
  
  59 Dans le territoire de la tribu d’Aser, avec leurs terres attenantes : Machal, Abdôn,
  
  60 Houqoq et Rehob.
  
  61 Et dans le territoire de la tribu de Nephtali : Qédech en Galilée et les terres attenantes, Hammôn et les terres attenantes et Qiryathaïm et les terres attenantes.
  
  62 Le reste des Merarites reçurent, dans le territoire de la tribu de Zabulon, les villes suivantes avec leurs terres attenantes : Rimmono, Thabor.
  
  63 En Transjordanie, en face de Jéricho, à l’est du *Jourdain, dans le territoire de la tribu de Ruben, ils reçurent, avec leurs terres attenantes : Bétser au désert, Yahtsa,
  
  64 Qedémoth, Méphaat.
  
  65 Et dans le territoire de la tribu de Gad, avec leurs terres attenantes : Ramoth en Galaad, Mahanaïm,

  15 Jehozadak went into captivity, when Yahweh carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
  
  16 The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
  
  17 These are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.
  
  18 The sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.
  
  19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' households.
  
  20 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,
  
  21 Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.
  
  22 The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,
  
  23 Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,
  
  24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.
  
  25 The sons of Elkanah: Amasai, and Ahimoth.
  
  26 As for Elkanah, the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,
  
  27 Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.
  
  28 The sons of Samuel: the firstborn Joel, and the second Abijah.
  
  29 The sons of Merari: Mahli, Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son,
  
  30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.
  
  31 These are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Yahweh, after that the ark had rest.
  
  32 They ministered with song before the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, until Solomon had built the house of Yahweh in Jerusalem: and they waited on their office according to their order.
  
  33 These are those who waited, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
  
  34 the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,
  
  35 the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,
  
  36 the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,
  
  37 the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,
  
  38 the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.
  
  39 His brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,
  
  40 the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,
  
  41 the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,
  
  42 the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,
  
  43 the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.
  
  44 On the left hand their brothers the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,
  
  45 the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,
  
  46 the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,
  
  47 the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
  
  48 Their brothers the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of God's house.
  
  49 But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
  
  50 These are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,
  
  51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,
  
  52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,
  
  53 Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.
  
  54 Now these are their dwelling places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),
  
  55 to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs around it;
  
  56 but the fields of the city, and its villages, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
  
  57 To the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron; Libnah also with its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,
  
  58 and Hilen with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs,
  
  59 and Ashan with its suburbs, and Beth Shemesh with its suburbs;
  
  60 and out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its suburbs, and Allemeth with its suburbs, and Anathoth with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
  
  61 To the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.
  
  62 To the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
  
  63 To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
  
  64 The children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their suburbs.
  
  65 They gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.
  
  66 Some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.
  
  67 They gave to them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim with its suburbs; Gezer also with its suburbs,
  
  68 and Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth Horon with its suburbs,
  
  69 and Aijalon with its suburbs, and Gath Rimmon with its suburbs;
  
  70 and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its suburbs, and Bileam with its suburbs, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.
  
  71 To the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs;
  
  72 and out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,
  
  73 and Ramoth with its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs;
  
  74 and out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon with its suburbs,
  
  75 and Hukok with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs;
  
  76 and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, and Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim with its suburbs.
  
  77 To the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its suburbs, Tabor with its suburbs;
  
  78 and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs,
  
  79 and Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs;
