  1 Et les fils d'Issacar : Thola, et Pua, Jashub, et Shimron, quatre.
  
  2 Et les fils de Thola : Uzzi, et Rephaïa, et Jeriel, et Jakhmaï, et Jisbam, et Samuel, chefs de leurs maisons de pères, de Thola, hommes forts et vaillants, dans leurs générations ; leur nombre, aux jours de David, fut de vingt deux mille six cents.
  
  3 -Et les fils d'Uzzi : Jizrakhia ; et les fils de Jizrakhia : Micaël, et Abdias, et Joël, et Jishija, cinq, tous des chefs.
  
  4 Et avec eux, suivant leurs générations, selon leurs maisons de pères, il y eut des bandes de guerre pour combattre, trente-six mille hommes ; car ils avaient beaucoup de femmes et de fils.
  
  5 Et leurs frères de toutes les familles d'Issacar, hommes forts et vaillants, furent en tout quatre-vingt-sept mille, enregistrés dans les généalogies.
  
  6 Fils de Benjamin : Béla, et Béker, et Jediaël, trois.
  
  7 Et les fils de Béla : Etsbon, et Uzzi, et Uziel, et Jerimoth, et Iri, cinq, chefs de maisons de pères, hommes forts et vaillants, et, enregistrés dans les généalogies, vingt deux mille trente-quatre.
  
  8 -Et les fils de Béker : Zemira, et Joash, et Éliézer, et Elioénaï, et Omri, et Jerémoth, et Abija, et Anathoth, et Alémeth ; tous ceux-là étaient fils de Béker ;
  
  9 et, enregistrés dans les généalogies, selon leurs générations, des chefs de leurs maisons de pères, hommes forts et vaillants, vingt mille deux cents.
  
  10 -Et les fils de Jediaël : Bilhan ; et les fils de Bilhan : Jehush, et Benjamin, et Éhud, et Kenaana, et Zéthan, et Tarsis, et Akhishakhar ;
  
  11 tous ceux-là étaient fils de Jediaël, selon les chefs des pères, hommes forts et vaillants, dix-sept mille deux cents, formés au service pour la guerre.
  
  12 -Et Shuppim et Huppim, fils d'Ir. -Hushim : les fils d'Akher.
  
  13 Les fils de Nephtali : Jahtsiel, et Guni, et Jétser, et Shallum, les fils de Bilha.
  
  14 Les fils de Manassé : Asriel,... qu'elle enfanta. Sa concubine syrienne enfanta Makir, père de Galaad.
  
  15 Et Makir prit une femme la soeur de Huppim et de Shuppim ; et le nom de leur soeur était Maaca. Et le nom du second fils était Tselophkhad ; et Tselophkhad n'eut que des filles.
  
  16 Et Maaca, femme de Makir, enfanta un fils, et l'appela du nom de Péresh ; et le nom de son frère, Shéresh ; et ses fils : Ulam et Rékem.
  
  17 Et les fils d'Ulam : Bedan. Ce sont là les fils de Galaad, fils de Makir, fils de Manassé.
  
  18 -Et sa soeur Moléketh enfanta Ishhod, et Abiézer, et Makhla.
  
  19 -Et les fils de Shemida furent Akhian, et Sichem, et Likkhi, et Aniam.
  
  20 Et les fils d'Éphraïm : Shuthélakh ; et Béred, son fils ; et Thakhath, son fils ; et Elhada, son fils ; et Thakhath, son fils ;
  
  21 et Zabad, son fils ; et Shuthélakh, son fils ; et Ézer, et Elhad. Et les gens de Gath, qui étaient nés dans le pays, les tuèrent ; car ils étaient descendus pour prendre leurs troupeaux.
  
  22 Et Éphraïm, leur père, mena deuil pendant nombre de jours ; et ses frères vinrent pour le consoler.
  
  23 Et il vint vers sa femme ; et elle conçut, et enfanta un fils ; et elle l'appela du nom de Beriha, car il était né quand le malheur était dans sa maison.
  
  24 Et sa fille fut Shééra ; et elle bâtit Beth-Horon, la basse et la haute, et Uzzen-Shééra.
  
  25 Et son fils fut Réphakh ; et Résheph, et Thélakh, son fils ; et Thakhan, son fils ;
  
  26 Lahdan, son fils ; Amminhud, son fils ; Elishama, son fils ;
  
  27 Nun, son fils ; Josué, son fils.
  
  28 Et leur possession et leurs habitations furent Béthel et les villages de son ressort ; et au levant, Naaran ; et au couchant, Guézer et les villages de son ressort, et Sichem et les villages de son ressort, jusqu'à Gaza et les villages de son ressort.
  
  29 Et aux mains des fils de Manassé étaient Beth-Shean et les villages de son ressort, Thaanac et les villages de son ressort, Meguiddo et les villages de son ressort, Dor et les villages de son ressort. Les fils de Joseph, fils d'Israël, habitèrent dans ces villes.
  
  30 Les fils d'Aser : Jimna, et Jishva, et Jishvi, et Beriha, et Sérakh, leur soeur.
  
  31 Et les fils de Beriha : Héber et Malkiel ; (il était père de Birzavith).
  
  32 Et Héber engendra Japhleth, et Shomer, et Hotham, et Shua, leur soeur.
  
  33 Et les fils de Japhleth : Pasac, et Bimhal, et Ashvath ; ce sont là les fils de Japhleth.
  
  34 -Et les fils de Shémer : Akhi, et Rohga, et Hubba, et Aram.
  
  35 -Et les fils d'Hélem, son frère : Tsophakh, et Jimnah, et Shélesh, et Amal.
  
  36 Les fils de Tsophakh : Suakh, et Harnépher, et Shual, et Béri, et Jimra,
  
  37 Bétser, et Hod, et Shamma, et Shilsha, et Jithran, et Beéra.
  
  38 -Et les fils de Jéther : Jephunné, et Pispa, et Ara.
  
  39 -Et les fils d'Ulla : Arakh, et Hanniel, et Ritsia.
  
  40 -Tous ceux-là étaient fils d'Aser, chefs de maisons de pères, hommes d'élite, forts et vaillants hommes, chefs des princes ; et, selon leur enregistrement généalogique dans l'armée pour la guerre, leur nombre fut de vingt-six mille hommes.

  1 Et Benjamin engendra Béla, son premier-né ; Ashbel, le second ; et Akhrakh, le troisième ;
  
  2 Nokha, le quatrième ; et Rapha, le cinquième.
  
  3 -Et Béla eut des fils : Addar, et Guéra, et Abihud,
  
  4 et Abishua, et Naaman, et Akhoakh,
  
  5 et Guéra, et Shephuphan, et Huram.
  
  6 Et ce sont ici les fils d'Éhud (ceux-ci étaient chefs des pères des habitants de Guéba ; et ils les transportèrent à Manakhath,
  
  7 savoir Naaman, et Akhija, et Guéra ; -lui les transporta) : il engendra Uzza, et Akhikhud.
  
  8 Et Shakharaïm engendra des fils, dans les champs de Moab, après avoir renvoyé Hushim et Baara, ses femmes.
  
  9 Et il engendra de Hodesh, sa femme : Jobab, et Tsibia, et Mésha, et Malcam, et Jehuts, et Shobia, et Mirma :
  
  10 ce sont là ses fils, des chefs des pères.
  
  11 Et de Hushim il engendra Abitub et Elpaal.
  
  12 -Et les fils d'Elpaal : Éber, et Misham, et Shémer (lui, bâtit Ono, et Lod et les villages de son ressort),
  
  13 et Beriha, et Shéma. Ceux-ci furent chefs des pères des habitants d'Ajalon ; ce furent eux qui mirent en fuite les habitants de Gath.
  
  14 -Et Akhio, Shashak, et Jerémoth,
  
  15 et Zebadia, et Arad, et Éder, et Micaël,
  
  16 et Jishpa, et Jokha, furent les fils de Beriha.
  
  17 -Et Zebadia, et Meshullam, et Hizki, et Héber,
  
  18 et Jishmeraï, et Jizlia, et Jobab, furent les fils d'Elpaal.
  
  19 -Et Jakim, et Zicri, et Zabdi,
  
  20 et Éliénaï, et Tsilthaï, et Éliel,
  
  21 et Adaïa, et Beraïa, et Shimrath, furent les fils de Shimhi.
  
  22 Et Jishpan, et Éber, et Éliel,
  
  23 et Abdon, et Zicri, et Hanan,
  
  24 et Hanania, et Élam, et Anthothija,
  
  25 et Jiphdeïa, et Penuel, furent les fils de Shashak.
  
  26 -Et Shamsheraï, et Shekharia, et Athalia,
  
  27 et Jaaréshia, et Élie, et Zicri, furent les fils de Jerokham.
  
  28 Ce sont là les chefs des pères, -selon leurs générations, des chefs ; ceux-là habitèrent à Jérusalem.
  
  29 -Et à Gabaon habita le père de Gabaon ; et le nom de sa femme était Maaca.
  
  30 Et son fils premier-né : Abdon ; et Tsur, et Kis, et Baal, et Nadab,
  
  31 et Guedor, et Akhio, et Zéker.
  
  32 Et Mikloth engendra Shimea. Et eux aussi habitèrent à côté de leurs frères à Jérusalem, avec leurs frères.
  
  33 Et Ner engendra Kis ; et Kis engendra Saül ; et Saül engendra Jonathan, et Malki-Shua, et Abinadab, et Eshbaal.
  
  34 Et le fils de Jonathan fut Merib-Baal ; et Merib-Baal engendra Michée.
  
  35 Et les fils de Michée : Pithon, et Mélec, et Tharéa, et Achaz.
  
  36 Et Achaz engendra Jehoadda ; et Jehoadda engendra Alémeth, et Azmaveth, et Zimri ;
  
  37 et Zimri engendra Motsa ; et Motsa engendra Binha : Rapha, son fils ; Elhasça, son fils ; Atsel, son fils.
  
  38 Et Atsel eut six fils, et ce sont ici leurs noms : Azrikam, Bocru, et Ismaël, et Shéaria, et Abdias, et Hanan ; tous ceux-là furent fils d'Atsel.
  
  39 Et les fils d'Eshek, son frère, furent Ulam, son premier-né ; Jehush, le second, et Éliphéleth, le troisième.
  
  40 Et les fils d'Ulam étaient des hommes forts et vaillants, tirant de l'arc, et ils eurent beaucoup de fils et de petits-fils, cent cinquante. Tous ceux-là sont d'entre les fils de Benjamin.

  1 Et tous ceux d'Israël furent enregistrés par généalogies ; et voici, ils sont inscrits dans le livre des rois d'Israël. Et Juda fut transporté à Babylone à cause de ses péchés.
  
  2 Et les premiers habitants qui étaient dans leurs possessions, dans leurs villes, étaient Israël, les sacrificateurs, les lévites, et les Nethiniens.
  
  3 à Jérusalem habitèrent des fils de Juda, et des fils de Benjamin, et des fils d'Éphraïm et de Manassé :
  
  4 Uthaï, fils d'Ammihud, fils d'Omri, fils d'Imri, fils de Bani, des fils de Pérets, fils de Juda.
  
  5 Et des Shilonites : Asçaïa, le premier-né, et ses fils.
  
  6 Et des fils de Zérakh : Jehuel, et ses frères, six cent quatre-vingt-dix.
  
  7 Et des fils de Benjamin : Sallu, fils de Meshullam, fils d'Hodavia, fils d'Hassenua ;
  
  8 et Jibneïa, fils de Jerokham ; et Éla, fils d'Uzzi, fils de Micri ; et Meshullam, fils de Shephatia, fils de Rehuel, fils de Jibnija ;
  
  9 et leurs frères, selon leurs générations, neuf cent cinquante-six. Tous ces hommes-là étaient chefs des pères de leurs maisons de pères.
  
  10 Et des sacrificateurs : Jedahia, et Joïarib, et Jakin ;
  
  11 et Azaria, fils de Hilkija, fils de Meshullam, fils de Tsadok, fils de Meraïoth, fils d'Akhitub, prince de la maison de Dieu ;
  
  12 et Adaïa, fils de Jerokham, fils de Pashkhur, fils de Malkija ; et Mahçaï, fils d'Adiel, fils de Jakhzéra, fils de Meshullam, fils de Meshillémith, fils d'Immer ;
  
  13 et leurs frères, chefs de leurs maisons de pères, mille sept cent soixante hommes forts et vaillants, pour l'oeuvre du service de la maison de Dieu.
  
  14 Et des lévites : Shemahia, fils de Hashub, fils d'Azrikam, fils de Hashabia, des fils de Merari ;
  
  15 et Bakbakkar, Héresh, et Galal ; et Matthania, fils de Michée, fils de Zicri, fils d'Asaph ;
  
  16 et Abdias, fils de Shemahia, fils de Galal, fils de Jeduthun ; et Bérékia, fils d'Asa, fils d'Elkana, qui habitait dans les villages des Netophathites.
  
  17 Et les portiers : Shallum, et Akkub, et Talmon, et Akhiman, et leurs frères ; Shallum était le chef.
  
  18 Et ils sont jusqu'à maintenant à la porte du roi, au levant ; ils étaient les portiers des camps des fils de Lévi.
  
  19 Et Shallum, fils de Koré, fils d'Ébiasaph, fils de Coré, et ses frères, les Corites, de la maison de son père, étaient préposés sur l'oeuvre du service, gardant les seuils de la tente : et leurs pères avaient été préposés sur le camp de l'Éternel, gardant l'entrée ;
  
  20 et Phinées, fils d'Éléazar, fut autrefois prince sur eux : l'Éternel était avec lui.
  
  21 Zacharie, fils de Meshélémia, était portier à l'entrée de la tente d'assignation.
  
  22 Tous ceux-là, choisis pour portiers des seuils, étaient deux cent douze ; ils furent enregistrés par généalogies dans leurs villages ; David et Samuel, le voyant, les avaient établis dans leur charge.
  
  23 Et eux, et leurs fils, étaient établis aux portes de la maison de l'Éternel, de la maison de la tente, pour y faire la garde.
  
  24 Les portiers étaient vers les quatre vents, à l'orient, à l'occident, au nord, et au midi.
  
  25 Et leurs frères, dans leurs villages, devaient venir de sept jours en sept jours, d'un terme à l'autre, auprès d'eux ;
  
  26 car, dans leur charge, ces quatre furent les principaux portiers : ils étaient Lévites ; et ils étaient préposés sur les chambres et sur les trésors de la maison de Dieu,
  
  27 et ils se tenaient la nuit autour de la maison de Dieu, car la garde leur en appartenait, et ils en avaient la clé, pour ouvrir chaque matin.
  
  28 Il y en avait aussi quelques-uns d'entre eux qui étaient préposés sur les ustensiles du service ; car ils les rentraient en les comptant, et ils les sortaient en les comptant.
  
  29 Et il y en avait qui étaient commis sur les vases, et sur tous les ustensiles du lieu saint, et sur la fleur de farine, et sur le vin, et sur l'huile, et sur l'encens, et sur les aromates.
  
  30 Et c'étaient des fils des sacrificateurs qui composaient les parfums avec les aromates.
  
  31 Et Mathithia, d'entre les Lévites, premier-né de Shallum, le Corite, avait la charge de l'ouvrage des gâteaux cuits sur la plaque ;
  
  32 et des fils de Kehathites, d'entre leurs frères, étaient chargés des pains à placer en rangées, pour les apprêter chaque sabbat.
  
  33 Et ce sont là les chantres, chefs des pères des Lévites, qui étaient dans les chambres, étant exempts d'autres fonctions, parce que, jour et nuit, ils étaient à l'oeuvre.
  
  34 Ce sont les chefs des pères des Lévites, selon leurs générations, des chefs ; ceux-là habitèrent à Jérusalem.
  
  35 Et à Gabaon habita le père de Gabaon, Jehiel ; et le nom de sa femme était Maaca.

  39 -Et Ner engendra Kis ; et Kis engendra Saül ; et Saül engendra Jonathan, et Malki-Shua, et Abinadab, et Eshbaal.
  
  40 -Et le fils de Jonathan fut Merib-Baal ; et Merib-Baal engendra Michée.
  
  41 Et les fils de Michée : Pithon, et Mélec, et Thakhréa.
  
  42 -Et Achaz engendra Jahra ; et Jahra engendra Alémeth, et Azmaveth, et Zimri. Et Zimri engendra Motsa ;
  
  43 et Motsa engendra Binha : et Rephaïa, son fils ; Elhasça, son fils ; Atsel, son fils.
  
  44 Et Atsel eut six fils, et ce sont ici leurs noms : Azrikam, Bocru, et Ismaël, et Shearia, et Abdias, et Hanan ; ce furent là les fils d'Atsel.
  
  1 Chroniques 10
  
  1 Et les Philistins combattirent contre Israël, et les hommes d'Israël s'enfuirent devant les Philistins, et tombèrent tués sur la montagne de Guilboa.
  
  2 Et les Philistins pressèrent fortement Saül et ses fils ; et les Philistins frappèrent Jonathan, et Abinadab, et Malki-Shua, fils de Saül.
  
  3 Et la bataille se renforça contre Saül, et les archers l'atteignirent ; et il eut peur des archers.
  
  4 Et Saül dit à celui qui portait ses armes : Tire ton épée, et perce-m'en, de peur que ces incirconcis ne viennent et ne m'outragent. Et celui qui portait ses armes ne voulut pas le faire, car il avait très-peur. Et Saül prit son épée, et se jeta dessus.
  
  5 Et quand celui qui portait ses armes vit que Saül était mort, il se jeta, lui aussi, sur l'épée, et mourut.
  
  6 Et Saül mourut, et ses trois fils ; et toute sa maison mourut ensemble.
  
  7 -Et tous les hommes d'Israël qui étaient dans la vallée virent que Saül et ses fils s'étaient enfuis, et qu'ils étaient morts, et ils abandonnèrent leurs villes et s'enfuirent ; et les Philistins vinrent et y habitèrent.
  
  8 Et il arriva que, le lendemain, les Philistins vinrent pour dépouiller les tués, et ils trouvèrent Saül et ses fils tombés sur la montagne de Guilboa.
  
  9 Et ils le dépouillèrent, et prirent sa tête et ses armes, et les envoyèrent partout dans le pays des Philistins pour annoncer la bonne nouvelle à leurs idoles et au peuple.
  
  10 Et ils placèrent ses armes dans la maison de leur dieu, et clouèrent sa tête dans la maison de Dagon.
  
  11 Et tous ceux de Jabès de Galaad entendirent parler de tout ce que les Philistins avaient fait à Saül ;
  
  12 et tous les hommes vaillants se levèrent, et prirent le corps de Saül et les corps de ses fils, et les apportèrent à Jabès ; et ils enterrèrent leurs os sous le térébinthe de Jabès, et jeûnèrent sept jours.
  
  13 Et Saül mourut dans son péché qu'il avait commis contre l'Éternel, à propos de la parole de l'Éternel, qu'il n'avait pas gardée, et aussi pour avoir interrogé une femme qui évoquait les esprits pour les consulter ;
  
  14 et il ne consulta point l'Éternel. Et Il le fit mourir, et transféra le royaume à David, fils d'Isaï.

  1 Issacar eut quatre fils : Tola, Poua, Yachoub, et Chimrôn.
  
  2 Descendants de Tola : Ouzzi, Rephaya, Yeriel, Yahmaï, Yibsam et Samuel ; tous ceux-là furent les chefs des groupes familiaux de Tola, de vaillants guerriers dans leurs lignées ; à l’époque de David, ils étaient au nombre de 22 600.
  
  3 Descendants d’Ouzzi : Yizrahya qui eut pour fils : Mikaël, Abdias, Joël, Yichiya. Ils furent tous les cinq chefs.
  
  4 Leurs groupes familiaux comptaient des corps d’armées totalisant 36 000 soldats, tant leurs femmes et leurs enfants étaient nombreux.
  
  5 L’ensemble des membres de toutes les familles d’Issacar recensées se montait à 87 000 vaillants guerriers.
  
  6 Benjamin eut trois fils : Béla, Béker et Yediaël.
  
  7 Béla eut cinq fils : Etsbôn, Ouzzi, Ouzziel, Yerimoth et Iri qui furent des chefs de leurs groupes familiaux et de vaillants guerriers, qu’on recensa au nombre de 22 034 hommes.
  
  8 Descendants de Béker : Zemira, Yoach, Eliézer, Elyoénaï ; Omri, Yérémoth, Abiya, Anatoth et Alameth. Tels étaient les descendants de Béker.
  
  9 Le recensement selon les descendants des chefs de groupes familiaux donnait 20 200 vaillants guerriers.
  
  10 Descendants de Yediaël : Bilhân, qui eut pour fils : Yeouch, Benjamin, Ehoud, Kenaana, Zétân, Tarchich et Ahichahar.
  
  11 Tous ces descendants de Yediaël furent des chefs de leurs groupes familiaux qui comptaient 17 200 vaillants guerriers pouvant sortir pour le combat.
  
  12 Chouppim et Houppim étaient fils d’Ir : Houchim était fils d’Ahèr.
  
  13 Fils de Nephtali : Yahtseél, Gouni, Yétser et Challoum, descendants de Bilha.
  
  14 Descendants de Manassé : Asriel, enfanté par son épouse syrienne de second rang. Elle lui donna aussi Makir, le père de Galaad.
  
  15 Makir prit une femme pour Houppim et une pour Chouppim. Le nom de sa sœur était Maaka. Le nom du second fils était Tselophhad qui n’eut que des filles.
  
  16 Maaka, femme de Makir, lui donna encore un fils qu’elle appela Pérech, dont le frère fut Chérech ; ce dernier eut pour fils Oulam et Rékém.
  
  17 Oulam eut pour fils Bedân. Tels sont les descendants de Galaad, fils de Makir, et petit-fils de Manassé.
  
  18 Sa sœur Hammoléketh donna naissance à Ichhod, Abiézer et Mahla.
  
  19 Les fils de Chemida étaient : Ahyân, Sichem, Liqhi et Aniam.
  
  20 Les descendants d’Ephraïm en ligne directe de père en fils furent : Choutélah, Béred, Tahath, Eleada, Tahath,
  
  21 Zabad, Choutélah. Quant à Ezer et Elead, ils furent tués par les habitants de Gath natifs du pays, parce qu’ils avaient tenté de s’emparer de leurs troupeaux.
  
  22 Ephraïm, leur père, porta longtemps leur deuil. Les gens de sa parenté vinrent le consoler.
  
  23 Plus tard, Ephraïm s’unit à sa femme, elle devint enceinte et lui donna un fils qu’il appela Beria (Dans le malheur) car sa famille avait été dans le malheur.
  
  24 Ephraïm eut aussi une fille, Chééra, qui fortifia Beth-Horôn la Basse, Beth-Horôn la Haute, et Ouzzèn-Chééra.
  
  25 Puis, en ligne directe de père en fils : Réphah, Récheph, Télah, Tahân,
  
  26 Laedân, Ammihoud, Elichama,
  
  27 Nôn et Josué.
  
  28 Les descendants d’Ephraïm avaient en propriété pour y habiter Béthel et les localités qui en dépendaient, à l’est, Naarân ; à l’ouest, Guézer et Sichem, et les localités qui dépendaient de ces deux villes ; leur territoire s’étendait jusqu’à Ayya et les localités qui en dépendaient.
  
  29 Les descendants de Manassé possédaient les villes de Beth-Cheân, Taanak, Meguiddo, Dor et les localités qui dépendaient de celles-ci. C’est dans ces villes qu’habitèrent les descendants de Joseph, fils d’Israël.
  
  30 Fils d’Aser : Yimna, Yichva, Yichvi et Beria ; leur sœur était Sarah.
  
  31 Fils de Beria : Héber et Malkiel. Ce dernier fut le fondateur de Birzavith.
  
  32 Héber eut pour fils Yaphleth, Chomer, Hotam et leur sœur Choua.
  
  33 Fils de Yaphleth : Pasak, Bimhal et Achvath. Tels étaient les fils de Yaphleth.
  
  34 Fils de Chémer : Ahi, Rohega, Yehoubba et Aram.
  
  35 Fils de Hélem, son frère : Tsophah, Yimma, Chélech et Amal.
  
  36 Fils de Tsophah : Souah, Harnépher, Choual, Béri, Yimra,
  
  37 Betser, Hod, Chamma, Chilcha, Yitrân et Beéra.
  
  38 Fils de Yéter : Yephounné, Pispa et Ara.

  40 Voici donc les descendants d’Aser, chefs de leurs groupes familiaux, hommes d’élite et vaillants soldats, à la tête des chefs de famille. Le nombre des hommes recensés dans leur armée pour le combat était de 26 000 hommes.

  6 Les fils d’Ehoud, Naaman, Ahiya et Guéra étaient les chefs de groupe familial des habitants de Guéba. Ceux-ci furent déplacés à Manahath. C’est Guéra qui les fit émigrer. Il eut pour fils Ouzza et Ahihoud.
  
  8 Chaharaïm eut des enfants dans les plaines de Moab, après avoir renvoyé ses deux femmes Houchim et Baara.
  
  9 Il eut, de Hodech, sa femme : Yobab, Tsibia, Mecha, Malkam, Yeouts, Sakia et Mirma.
  
  10 Tels sont les fils de Chaharaïm qui devinrent des chefs de groupe familial.
  
  11 De son épouse Houchim, il avait eu Abitoub et Elpaal.
  
  12 Fils d’Elpaal : Eber, Micheam et Chémer qui bâtit Ono, Lod et les localités qui en dépendaient.
  
  13 Beria et Chéma, qui étaient chefs de groupe familial parmi les habitants d’Ayalôn, mirent en fuite les habitants de Gath.
  
  14 Puis : Ahyo, Chachaq, Yerémoth,
  
  15 Zebadya, Arad, Eder,
  
  16 Mikaël, Yichpha et Yoha, les fils de Beria.
  
  17 Puis : Zebadya, Mechoullam, Hizqi, Héber,

  29 Le père de Gabaon habitait à Gabaon. Sa femme s’appelait Maaka.

  31 Guedor, Ahyo et Zéker.
  
  32 Miqloth eut pour fils Chimea. Ces derniers habitaient eux aussi à Jérusalem, avec ceux qui leur étaient apparentés.
  
  33 Ner eut pour fils Qich qui eut pour fils Saül ; les fils de Saül furent Jonathan, Malki-Choua, Abinadab et Echbaal.
  
  34 Jonathan eut pour fils Merib-Baal, qui eut pour fils Michée.
  
  35 Fils de Michée : Pitôn, Mélek, Taeréa et Ahaz.
  
  36 Ahaz eut pour fils Yehoadda, qui eut pour fils : Alémeth, Azmaveth et Zimri.
  
  37 Voici les descendants de Zimri en ligne directe : Motsa, Binea, Rapha, Eleasa, Atsel.
  
  38 Atsel eut six fils, dont voici les noms : Azriqam, Bokrou, Ismaël, Chearia, Abdias et Hanân. Tels étaient les fils d’Atsel.
  
  39 Echeq était le frère d’Atsel. Il eut pour fils Oulam, son premier-né, Yeouch, le deuxième, et Eliphéleth, le troisième.
  
  40 Les fils d’Oulam furent de vaillants hommes de guerre, tireurs à l’arc ; ils eurent de nombreux fils et petits-fils : cent cinquante. Tels étaient les descendants de Benjamin.

  1 Tout Israël a été recensé et inscrit dans les Annales des rois d’Israël. La population de Juda fut déportée à Babylone, à cause de ses infidélités.
  
  2 Les premiers à s’établir de nouveau dans leurs propriétés et dans leurs villes respectives, furent des Israélites, des prêtres, des lévites, et desservants du Temple.
  
  3 De plus, des gens des tribus de Juda, de Benjamin, d’Ephraïm et de Manassé s’établirent à Jérusalem :
  
  4 Outaï, fils d’Ammihoud, ayant pour ascendants Omri, Imri, Bani, du lignage de Pérets, fils de Juda.
  
  5 Parmi les Chilonites, il y avait Asaya, le premier-né et ses fils.
  
  6 Des descendants de Zérah, il y avait Yeouel. Les membres de la tribu de Juda installés à Jérusalem étaient au nombre de 690.
  
  7 De la tribu de Benjamin, il y avait Sallou, fils de Mechoullam, qui avait pour ascendants : Hodavia et Hassenoua ;
  
  8 Yibneya, fils de Yeroham ; Ela, fils d’Ouzzi, et petit-fils de Mikri ; Mechoullam, fils de Chepatia et petit-fils de Reouel, le fils de Yibniya.
  
  9 Les membres de la tribu de Benjamin installés à Jérusalem étaient au nombre de 956 et tous ces hommes étaient des chefs de groupe familial dans leur groupe familial.
  
  10 Parmi les prêtres, il y avait : Yedaeya, Yehoyarib, Yakîn,
  
  11 Azaria, fils de Hilqiya, qui avait pour ascendants : Mechoullam, Tsadoq, Merayoth, Ahitoub, responsable en chef du Temple de Dieu ;
  
  12 il y avait aussi Adaya, fils de Yeroham, qui avait pour ascendants Pachhour et Malkiya ; il y avait Maesaï, fils d’Adiel, dont les ascendants étaient Yahzéra, Mechoullam, Mechillémith et Immer.
  
  13 Avec les autres prêtres, chefs de leur groupe familial, ils étaient au nombre de 1 760 hommes forts et vaillants affectés au service du Temple de Dieu.
  
  14 Parmi les lévites : Chemaeya, fils de Hachoub, descendant d’Azriqam, Hachabya du lignage de Merari ;
  
  15 il y avait aussi Baqbaqar, Hérech, Galal, Mattania, fils de Michée, petit-fils de Zikri, et descendant d’Asaph.
  
  16 Il y avait Abdias, fils de Chemaeya, descendant de Galal et Yedoutoun ; il y avait Bérékia, fils d’Asa et petit-fils d’Elqana, qui habitait dans les villages des Netophatites.
  
  17 Il y avait encore des portiers : Challoum, Aqoub, Talmôn, Ahimân et leurs frères. Challoum en était le chef.
  
  18 Et, jusqu’à présent, ses descendants surveillent l’entrée orientale du Temple appelée la porte du roi. Ce sont là les portiers du camp des lévites.
  
  19 Challoum, fils de Qoré, descendant d’Ebiasaph, et de Qoré, ainsi que les autres membres du groupe familial des Qoréites, remplissaient les fonctions de gardiens de l’entrée de la *tente de la Rencontre, comme leurs ancêtres avaient gardé l’entrée du camp de l’Eternel.
  
  20 Phinéas, fils d’Eléazar, avait été autrefois leur chef car l’Eternel était avec lui.
  
  21 Zacharie, fils de Mechélémia, était aussi portier à l’entrée de la tente de la Rencontre.
  
  22 Ils étaient en tout 212 qui avaient été choisis comme portiers des entrées et ils avaient été recensés d’après leurs villages d’origine. David et Samuel le prophète les avaient établis dans leur fonction de façon permanente.
  
  23 Eux et leurs descendants ont donc pour fonction de surveiller les portes du sanctuaire de l’Eternel, c’est-à-dire du sanctuaire de la Tente.
  
  24 Il y avait des portiers des quatre côtés : à l’est, à l’ouest, au nord et au sud.
  
  25 D’autres portiers, qui demeuraient dans leurs villages respectifs, devaient de temps à autre venir auprès d’eux pendant sept jours.
  
  26 Cependant, ces quatre portiers principaux étaient en fonction de façon permanente ; c’étaient des lévites et ils avaient la responsabilité des salles et des trésors du sanctuaire de Dieu.
  
  27 Ils passaient la nuit dans les environs du sanctuaire de Dieu, puisqu’ils en avaient la garde et qu’ils devaient en ouvrir les portes chaque matin.
  
  28 Certains lévites avaient la responsabilité des ustensiles du service : ils les comptaient lorsqu’on les emportait et lorsqu’on les rapportait.
  
  29 D’autres étaient désignés pour veiller sur les ustensiles, y compris les ustensiles du sanctuaire, et sur la fleur de farine, le vin, l’huile, l’*encens et les aromates.
  
  30 Mais c’étaient des membres des familles sacerdotales qui composaient les parfums aromatiques.
  
  31 Mattita, l’un des lévites, fils aîné de Challoum le Qoréite, était responsable de la fabrication des gâteaux cuits à la poêle.
  
  32 D’autres lévites, faisant partie des Qehatites, avaient la responsabilité de préparer chaque jour de repos les pains devant être exposés devant l’Eternel.
  
  33 Les chefs de groupe familial des lévites affectés au chant avaient leurs chambres ; ils étaient dispensés de toute autre tâche, parce qu’ils étaient de service jour et nuit.
  
  34 Ce sont là des chefs de groupe familial des lévites chacun dans sa génération. Ils habitaient à Jérusalem.

  1 Les Philistins attaquèrent Israël. Les soldats israélites s’enfuirent devant eux et beaucoup d’entre eux furent tués sur le mont Guilboa.
  
  2 Les Philistins s’acharnèrent à poursuivre Saül et ses fils et ils tuèrent Jonathan, Abinadab et Malkichoua, fils de Saül.
  
  3 Dès lors, tout le combat se concentra sur Saül. Les archers le découvrirent, et il en fut terrifié.
  
  4 Alors il ordonna à celui qui portait ses armes : —Dégaine ton épée et tue-moi, pour que ces incirconcis ne viennent pas me faire subir leurs outrages. Mais celui-ci refusa car il tremblait de peur. Alors Saül prit lui-même l’épée et se jeta dessus.
  
  5 Quand l’écuyer vit que Saül était mort, il se jeta lui aussi sur l’arme et mourut.
  
  6 Ainsi périrent ensemble, le même jour, Saül, ses trois fils et toute sa famille.
  
  7 Quand tous les hommes d’Israël qui habitaient la vallée virent que l’armée était en déroute et que Saül et ses fils étaient morts, ils abandonnèrent leurs villes et prirent la fuite. Les Philistins allèrent s’y établir.
  
  8 Le lendemain, les Philistins vinrent sur le champ de bataille pour détrousser les cadavres. Ils découvrirent Saül et ses fils qui étaient tombés sur le mont Guilboa.
  
  9 Alors ils dépouillèrent Saül de son armure, emportèrent sa tête et ses armes. Puis ils firent annoncer la nouvelle de leur triomphe à travers tout le pays des Philistins, à leurs idoles et parmi la population.
  
  10 Ils déposèrent les armes dans le temple de leurs dieux et suspendirent son crâne dans le temple de Dagôn.
  
  11 Lorsque tous les habitants de Yabèch en Galaad apprirent tout ce que les Philistins avaient fait à Saül,
  
  12 les hommes les plus vaillants se mirent en route, ils enlevèrent le corps de Saül et celui de ses fils et les ramenèrent à Yabèch. Ils enterrèrent leurs ossements sous le tamaris de Yabèch, puis ils jeûnèrent pendant sept jours.
  
  13 Saül mourut à cause de la désobéissance dont il s’était rendu coupable envers l’Eternel. Il n’avait pas respecté la parole de l’Eternel et, de plus, il avait interrogé et consulté quelqu’un qui évoque les morts
  
  14 au lieu de consulter l’Eternel. L’Eternel le fit mourir et transféra la royauté à David, fils d’Isaï.

  3 The sons of Uzzi: Izrahiah. The sons of Izrahiah: Michael, and Obadiah, and Joel, Isshiah, five; all of them chief men.
  
  4 With them, by their generations, after their fathers' houses, were bands of the army for war, thirty-six thousand; for they had many wives and sons.

  10 The sons of Jediael: Bilhan. The sons of Bilhan: Jeush, and Benjamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanah, and Zethan, and Tarshish, and Ahishahar.
  
  11 All these were sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers' households, mighty men of valor, seventeen thousand and two hundred, who were able to go forth in the army for war.
  
  12 Shuppim also, and Huppim, the sons of Ir, Hushim, the sons of Aher.
  
  13 The sons of Naphtali: Jahziel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shallum, the sons of Bilhah.
  
  14 The sons of Manasseh: Asriel, whom his concubine the Aramitess bore: she bore Machir the father of Gilead:
  
  15 and Machir took a wife of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maacah; and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters.
  
  16 Maacah the wife of Machir bore a son, and she named him Peresh; and the name of his brother was Sheresh; and his sons were Ulam and Rakem.
  
  17 The sons of Ulam: Bedan. These were the sons of Gilead the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh.
  
  18 His sister Hammolecheth bore Ishhod, and Abiezer, and Mahlah.

  34 The son of Jonathan was Merib Baal; and Merib Baal became the father of Micah.
  
  35 The sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz.
  
  36 Ahaz became the father of Jehoaddah; and Jehoaddah became the father of Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza.
  
  37 Moza became the father of Binea; Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
  
  38 Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan. All these were the sons of Azel.

  19 Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father's house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent: and their fathers had been over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entry.
  
  20 Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and Yahweh was with him.
  
  21 Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the Tent of Meeting.
  
  22 All these who were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.
  
  23 So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Yahweh, even the house of the tent, by wards.
  
  24 On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
  
  25 Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them:
  
  26 for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God's house.
  
  27 They lodged around God's house, because that duty was on them; and to them pertained its opening morning by morning.
  
  28 Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out.
  
  29 Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
  
  30 Some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices.
  
  31 Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.
  
  32 Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.
  
  33 These are the singers, heads of fathers' households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service; for they were employed in their work day and night.
  
  34 These were heads of fathers' households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these lived at Jerusalem.
  
  35 In Gibeon there lived the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife's name was Maacah:
  
  36 and his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,
  
  37 and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
  
  38 Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their brothers in Jerusalem, over against their brothers.
  
  39 Ner became the father of Kish; and Kish became the father of Saul; and Saul became the father of Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
  
  40 The son of Jonathan was Merib Baal; and Merib Baal became the father of Micah.
  
  41 The sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.
  
  42 Ahaz became the father of Jarah; and Jarah became the father of Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza;
  
  43 and Moza became the father of Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
  
  44 Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.

  1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain on Mount Gilboa.
  
  2 The Philistines followed hard after Saul and after his sons; and the Philistines killed Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
  
  3 The battle went hard against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was distressed by reason of the archers.
  
  4 Then Saul said to his armor bearer, "Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me." But his armor bearer would not; for he was terrified. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell on it.
  
  5 When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell on his sword, and died.
  
  6 So Saul died, and his three sons; and all his house died together.
  
  7 When all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook their cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and lived in them.
  
  8 It happened on the next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
  
  9 They stripped him, and took his head, and his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines all around, to carry the news to their idols, and to the people.
  
  10 They put his armor in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the house of Dagon.
  
  11 When all Jabesh Gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
  
  12 all the valiant men arose, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
  
  13 So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of the word of Yahweh, which he didn't keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,
  
  14 and didn't inquire of Yahweh: therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
