- Genèse 11
  
  1 The whole earth was of one language and of one speech.
  
  2 It happened, as they traveled east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they lived there.
  
  3 They said one to another, "Come, let's make bricks, and burn them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they used tar for mortar.
  
  4 They said, "Come, let's build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top reaches to the sky, and let's make ourselves a name, lest we be scattered abroad on the surface of the whole earth."
  
  5 Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.
  
  6 Yahweh said, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do.
  
  7 Come, let's go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech."
  
  8 So Yahweh scattered them abroad from there on the surface of all the earth. They stopped building the city.
  
  9 Therefore its name was called Babel, because there Yahweh confused the language of all the earth. From there, Yahweh scattered them abroad on the surface of all the earth.
  
  10 This is the history of the generations of Shem. Shem was one hundred years old and became the father of Arpachshad two years after the flood.
  
  11 Shem lived five hundred years after he became the father of Arpachshad, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  12 Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and became the father of Shelah.
  
  13 Arpachshad lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Shelah, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  14 Shelah lived thirty years, and became the father of Eber:
  
  15 and Shelah lived four hundred three years after he became the father of Eber, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  16 Eber lived thirty-four years, and became the father of Peleg.
  
  17 Eber lived four hundred thirty years after he became the father of Peleg, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  18 Peleg lived thirty years, and became the father of Reu.
  
  19 Peleg lived two hundred nine years after he became the father of Reu, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  20 Reu lived thirty-two years, and became the father of Serug.
  
  21 Reu lived two hundred seven years after he became the father of Serug, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  22 Serug lived thirty years, and became the father of Nahor.
  
  23 Serug lived two hundred years after he became the father of Nahor, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  24 Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and became the father of Terah.
  
  25 Nahor lived one hundred nineteen years after he became the father of Terah, and became the father of sons and daughters.
  
  26 Terah lived seventy years, and became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
  
  27 Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot.
  
  28 Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees.
  
  29 Abram and Nahor took wives. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran who was also the father of Iscah.
  
  30 Sarai was barren. She had no child.
  
  31 Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son's son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram's wife. They went from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there.
  
  32 The days of Terah were two hundred five years. Terah died in Haran.
  
  Esdras 10
  
  1 Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before God's house, there was gathered together to him out of Israel a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very bitterly.
  
  2 Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered Ezra, "We have trespassed against our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land. Yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.
  
  3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God. Let it be done according to the law.
  
  4 Arise; for the matter belongs to you, and we are with you. Be courageous, and do it."
  
  5 Then Ezra arose, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they swore.
  
  6 Then Ezra rose up from before God's house, and went into the room of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib: and when he came there, he ate no bread, nor drank water; for he mourned because of their trespass of the captivity.
  
  7 They made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together to Jerusalem;
  
  8 and that whoever didn't come within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the assembly of the captivity.
  
  9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together to Jerusalem within the three days; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month: and all the people sat in the broad place before God's house, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
  
  10 Ezra the priest stood up, and said to them, "You have trespassed, and have married foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.
  
  11 Now therefore make confession to Yahweh, the God of your fathers, and do his pleasure; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign women."
  
  12 Then all the assembly answered with a loud voice, "As you have said concerning us, so must we do.
  
  13 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand outside; neither is this a work of one day or two; for we have greatly transgressed in this matter.
  
  14 Let now our princes be appointed for all the assembly, and let all those who are in our cities who have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and its judges, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned from us, until this matter is resolved."
  
  15 Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this; and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
  
  16 The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers' households, after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
  
  17 They made an end with all the men who had married foreign women by the first day of the first month.
  
  18 Among the sons of the priests there were found who had married foreign women: of the sons of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and his brothers, Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.
  
  19 They gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.
  
  20 Of the sons of Immer: Hanani and Zebadiah.
  
  21 Of the sons of Harim: Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.
  
  22 Of the sons of Pashhur: Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and Elasah.
  
  23 Of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah (the same is Kelita), Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.
  
  24 Of the singers: Eliashib. Of the porters: Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.
  
  25 Of Israel: Of the sons of Parosh: Ramiah, and Izziah, and Malchijah, and Mijamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.
  
  26 Of the sons of Elam: Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Elijah.
  
  27 Of the sons of Zattu: Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
  
  28 Of the sons of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
  
  29 Of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, Jeremoth.
  
  30 Of the sons of Pahathmoab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
  
  31 Of the sons of Harim: Eliezer, Isshijah, Malchijah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
  
  32 Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah.
  
  33 Of the sons of Hashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
  
  34 Of the sons of Bani: Maadai, Amram, and Uel,
  
  35 Benaiah, Bedeiah, Cheluhi,
  
  36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
  
  37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasu,

  Matthieu 10
  
  1 He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
  
  2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;
  
  3 Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
  
  4 Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
  
  5 Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, "Don't go among the Gentiles, and don't enter into any city of the Samaritans.
  
  6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
  
  7 As you go, preach, saying, 'The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!'
  
  8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers , and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
  
  9 Don't take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.
  
  10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
  
  11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
  
  12 As you enter into the household, greet it.
  
  13 If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn't worthy, let your peace return to you.
  
  14 Whoever doesn't receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
  
  15 Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
  
  16 "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
  
  17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
  
  18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
  
  19 But when they deliver you up, don't be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
  
  20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
  
  21 "Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
  
  22 You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
  
  23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.
  
  24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
  
  25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
  
  26 Therefore don't be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
  
  27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
  
  28 Don't be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
  
  29 "Aren't two sparrows sold for an assarion coin ? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father's will,
  
  30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
  
  31 Therefore don't be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
  
  32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
  
  33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.
  
  34 "Don't think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn't come to send peace, but a sword.
  
  35 For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
  
  36 A man's foes will be those of his own household.
  
  37 He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn't worthy of me.
  
  38 He who doesn't take his cross and follow after me, isn't worthy of me.
  
  39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
  
  40 He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
  
  41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
  
  42 Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."

  9 עַל־כֵּ֞ן קָרָ֤א שְׁמָהּ֙ בָּבֶ֔ל כִּי־שָׁ֛ם בָּלַ֥ל יְהוָ֖ה שְׂפַ֣ת כָּל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וּמִשָּׁם֙ הֱפִיצָ֣ם יְהוָ֔ה עַל־פְּנֵ֖י כָּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
  
  10 אֵ֚לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת שֵׁ֔ם שֵׁ֚ם בֶּן־מְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֔ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־אַרְפַּכְשָׁ֑ד שְׁנָתַ֖יִם אַחַ֥ר הַמַּבּֽוּל׃
  
  11 וַֽיְחִי־שֵׁ֗ם אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־אַרְפַּכְשָׁ֔ד חֲמֵ֥שׁ מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  12 וְאַרְפַּכְשַׁ֣ד חַ֔י חָמֵ֥שׁ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־שָֽׁלַח׃
  
  13 וַֽיְחִ֣י אַרְפַּכְשַׁ֗ד אַֽחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־שֶׁ֔לַח שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  14 וְשֶׁ֥לַח חַ֖י שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־עֵֽבֶר׃
  
  15 וַֽיְחִי־שֶׁ֗לַח אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־עֵ֔בֶר שָׁלֹ֣שׁ שָׁנִ֔ים וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  16 וַֽיְחִי־עֵ֕בֶר אַרְבַּ֥ע וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־פָּֽלֶג׃
  
  17 וַֽיְחִי־עֵ֗בֶר אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־פֶּ֔לֶג שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וְאַרְבַּ֥ע מֵא֖וֹת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  18 וַֽיְחִי־פֶ֖לֶג שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־רְעֽוּ׃
  
  19 וַֽיְחִי־פֶ֗לֶג אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־רְע֔וּ תֵּ֥שַׁע שָׁנִ֖ים וּמָאתַ֣יִם שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  20 וַיְחִ֣י רְע֔וּ שְׁתַּ֥יִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־שְׂרֽוּג׃
  
  21 וַיְחִ֣י רְע֗וּ אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־שְׂר֔וּג שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים וּמָאתַ֣יִם שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  22 וַיְחִ֥י שְׂר֖וּג שְׁלֹשִׁ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־נָחֽוֹר׃
  
  23 וַיְחִ֣י שְׂר֗וּג אַחֲרֵ֛י הוֹלִיד֥וֹ אֶת־נָח֖וֹר מָאתַ֣יִם שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  24 וַיְחִ֣י נָח֔וֹר תֵּ֥שַׁע וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֖וֹלֶד אֶת־תָּֽרַח׃
  
  25 וַיְחִ֣י נָח֗וֹר אַחֲרֵי֙ הוֹלִיד֣וֹ אֶת־תֶּ֔רַח תְּשַֽׁע־עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה שָׁנָ֖ה וּמְאַ֣ת שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֥וֹלֶד בָּנִ֖ים וּבָנֽוֹת׃
  
  26 וַֽיְחִי־תֶ֖רַח שִׁבְעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֑ה וַיּ֙וֹלֶד֙ אֶת־אַבְרָ֔ם אֶת־נָח֖וֹר וְאֶת־הָרָֽן׃
  
  27 וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת תֶּ֔רַח תֶּ֚רַח הוֹלִ֣יד אֶת־אַבְרָ֔ם אֶת־נָח֖וֹר וְאֶת־הָרָ֑ן וְהָרָ֖ן הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת־לֽוֹט׃
  
  28 וַיָּ֣מָת הָרָ֔ן עַל־פְּנֵ֖י תֶּ֣רַח אָבִ֑יו בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מוֹלַדְתּ֖וֹ בְּא֥וּר כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃
  
  29 וַיִּקַּ֨ח אַבְרָ֧ם וְנָח֛וֹר לָהֶ֖ם נָשִׁ֑ים שֵׁ֤ם אֵֽשֶׁת־אַבְרָם֙ שָׂרָ֔י וְשֵׁ֤ם אֵֽשֶׁת־נָחוֹר֙ מִלְכָּ֔ה בַּת־הָרָ֥ן אֲבִֽי־מִלְכָּ֖ה וַֽאֲבִ֥י יִסְכָּֽה׃
  
  30 וַתְּהִ֥י שָׂרַ֖י עֲקָרָ֑ה אֵ֥ין לָ֖הּ וָלָֽד׃
  
  31 וַיִּקַּ֨ח תֶּ֜רַח אֶת־אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֗וֹ וְאֶת־ל֤וֹט בֶּן־הָרָן֙ בֶּן־בְּנ֔וֹ וְאֵת֙ שָׂרַ֣י כַּלָּת֔וֹ אֵ֖שֶׁת אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֑וֹ וַיֵּצְא֨וּ אִתָּ֜ם מֵא֣וּר כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ אַ֣רְצָה כְּנַ֔עַן וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ עַד־חָרָ֖ן וַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּ שָֽׁם׃
  
  32 וַיִּהְי֣וּ יְמֵי־תֶ֔רַח חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים וּמָאתַ֣יִם שָׁנָ֑ה וַיָּ֥מָת תֶּ֖רַח בְּחָרָֽן׃

  2 וַיַּעַן֩ שְׁכַנְיָ֨ה בֶן־יְחִיאֵ֜ל מִבְּנֵ֤י *עולם **עֵילָם֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְעֶזְרָ֔א אֲנַ֙חְנוּ֙ מָעַ֣לְנוּ בֵאלֹהֵ֔ינוּ וַנֹּ֛שֶׁב נָשִׁ֥ים נָכְרִיּ֖וֹת מֵעַמֵּ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ וְעַתָּ֛ה יֵשׁ־מִקְוֶ֥ה לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל־זֹֽאת׃
  
  3 וְעַתָּ֣ה נִֽכְרָת־בְּרִ֣ית לֵ֠אלֹהֵינוּ לְהוֹצִ֨יא כָל־נָשִׁ֜ים וְהַנּוֹלָ֤ד מֵהֶם֙ בַּעֲצַ֣ת אֲדֹנָ֔י וְהַחֲרֵדִ֖ים בְּמִצְוַ֣ת אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וְכַתּוֹרָ֖ה יֵעָשֶֽׂה׃
  
  4 ק֛וּם כִּֽי־עָלֶ֥יךָ הַדָּבָ֖ר וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ עִמָּ֑ךְ חֲזַ֖ק וַעֲשֵֽׂה׃
  
  5 וַיָּ֣קָם עֶזְרָ֡א וַיַּשְׁבַּ֣ע אֶת־שָׂרֵי֩ הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים הַלְוִיִּ֜ם וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לַעֲשׂ֛וֹת כַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה וַיִּשָּׁבֵֽעוּ׃
  
  6 וַיָּ֣קָם עֶזְרָ֗א מִלִּפְנֵי֙ בֵּ֣ית הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיֵּ֕לֶךְ אֶל־לִשְׁכַּ֖ת יְהוֹחָנָ֣ן בֶּן־אֶלְיָשִׁ֑יב וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ שָׁ֗ם לֶ֤חֶם לֹֽא־אָכַל֙ וּמַ֣יִם לֹֽא־שָׁתָ֔ה כִּ֥י מִתְאַבֵּ֖ל עַל־מַ֥עַל הַגּוֹלָֽה׃
  
  7 וַיַּעֲבִ֨ירוּ ק֜וֹל בִּיהוּדָ֣ה וִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם לְכֹל֙ בְּנֵ֣י הַגּוֹלָ֔ה לְהִקָּבֵ֖ץ יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
  
  8 וְכֹל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־יָב֜וֹא לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת הַיָּמִ֗ים כַּעֲצַ֤ת הַשָּׂרִים֙ וְהַזְּקֵנִ֔ים יָחֳרַ֖ם כָּל־רְכוּשׁ֑וֹ וְה֥וּא יִבָּדֵ֖ל מִקְּהַ֥ל הַגּוֹלָֽה׃
  
  9 וַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּ כָל־אַנְשֵֽׁי־יְהוּדָה֩ וּבִנְיָמִ֨ן ׀ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת הַיָּמִ֗ים ה֛וּא חֹ֥דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁיעִ֖י בְּעֶשְׂרִ֣ים בַּחֹ֑דֶשׁ וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ כָל־הָעָ֗ם בִּרְחוֹב֙ בֵּ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים מַרְעִידִ֥ים עַל־הַדָּבָ֖ר וּמֵהַגְּשָׁמִֽים׃
  
  10 וַיָּ֨קָם עֶזְרָ֤א הַכֹּהֵן֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם אַתֶּ֣ם מְעַלְתֶּ֔ם וַתֹּשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת לְהוֹסִ֖יף עַל־אַשְׁמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  11 וְעַתָּ֗ה תְּנ֥וּ תוֹדָ֛ה לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽי־אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם וַעֲשׂ֣וּ רְצוֹנ֑וֹ וְהִבָּֽדְלוּ֙ מֵעַמֵּ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ וּמִן־הַנָּשִׁ֖ים הַנָּכְרִיּֽוֹת׃
  
  12 וַיַּֽעְנ֧וּ כָֽל־הַקָּהָ֛ל וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל כֵּ֛ן *כדבריך **כִּדְבָרְךָ֥ עָלֵ֖ינוּ לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃
  
  13 אֲבָ֞ל הָעָ֥ם רָב֙ וְהָעֵ֣ת גְּשָׁמִ֔ים וְאֵ֥ין כֹּ֖חַ לַעֲמ֣וֹד בַּח֑וּץ וְהַמְּלָאכָ֗ה לֹֽא־לְי֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ וְלֹ֣א לִשְׁנַ֔יִם כִּֽי־הִרְבִּ֥ינוּ לִפְשֹׁ֖עַ בַּדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  14 יַֽעֲמְדוּ־נָ֣א שָׂ֠רֵינוּ לְֽכָל־הַקָּהָ֞ל וְכֹ֣ל ׀ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בֶּעָרֵ֗ינוּ הַהֹשִׁ֞יב נָשִׁ֤ים נָכְרִיּוֹת֙ יָבֹא֙ לְעִתִּ֣ים מְזֻמָּנִ֔ים וְעִמָּהֶ֛ם זִקְנֵי־עִ֥יר וָעִ֖יר וְשֹׁפְטֶ֑יהָ עַ֠ד לְהָשִׁ֞יב חֲר֤וֹן אַף־אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ עַ֖ד לַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  15 אַ֣ךְ יוֹנָתָ֧ן בֶּן־עֲשָׂהאֵ֛ל וְיַחְזְיָ֥ה בֶן־תִּקְוָ֖ה עָמְד֣וּ עַל־זֹ֑את וּמְשֻׁלָּ֛ם וְשַׁבְּתַ֥י הַלֵּוִ֖י עֲזָרֻֽם׃
  
  16 וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵן֮ בְּנֵ֣י הַגּוֹלָה֒ וַיִּבָּדְלוּ֩ עֶזְרָ֨א הַכֹּהֵ֜ן אֲנָשִׁ֨ים רָאשֵׁ֧י הָאָב֛וֹת לְבֵ֥ית אֲבֹתָ֖ם וְכֻלָּ֣ם בְּשֵׁמ֑וֹת וַיֵּשְׁב֗וּ בְּי֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִ֔י לְדַרְי֖וֹשׁ הַדָּבָֽר׃
  
  17 וַיְכַלּ֣וּ בַכֹּ֔ל אֲנָשִׁ֕ים הַהֹשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת עַ֛ד י֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃
  
  18 וַיִּמָּצֵא֙ מִבְּנֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֹשִׁ֖יבוּ נָשִׁ֣ים נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת מִבְּנֵ֨י יֵשׁ֤וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָק֙ וְאֶחָ֔יו מַֽעֲשֵׂיָה֙ וֶֽאֱלִיעֶ֔זֶר וְיָרִ֖יב וּגְדַלְיָֽה׃
  
  19 וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ יָדָ֖ם לְהוֹצִ֣יא נְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם וַאֲשֵׁמִ֥ים אֵֽיל־צֹ֖אן עַל־אַשְׁמָתָֽם׃
  
  20 וּמִבְּנֵ֣י אִמֵּ֔ר חֲנָ֖נִי וּזְבַדְיָֽה׃
  
  21 וּמִבְּנֵ֖י חָרִ֑ם מַעֲשֵׂיָ֤ה וְאֵֽלִיָּה֙ וּֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֔ה וִיחִיאֵ֖ל וְעֻזִיָּֽה׃
  
  22 וּמִבְּנֵ֖י פַּשְׁח֑וּר אֶלְיוֹעֵינַ֤י מַֽעֲשֵׂיָה֙ יִשְׁמָעֵ֣אל נְתַנְאֵ֔ל יוֹזָבָ֖ד וְאֶלְעָשָֽׂה׃
  
  23 וּמִֽן־הַלְוִיִּ֑ם יוֹזָבָ֣ד וְשִׁמְעִ֗י וְקֵֽלָיָה֙ ה֣וּא קְלִיטָ֔א פְּתַֽחְיָ֥ה יְהוּדָ֖ה וֶאֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃
  
  24 וּמִן־הַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים אֶלְיָשִׁ֑יב וּמִן־הַשֹּׁ֣עֲרִ֔ים שַׁלֻּ֥ם וָטֶ֖לֶם וְאוּרִֽי׃
  
  25 וּמִֽיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל מִבְּנֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֡שׁ רַ֠מְיָה וְיִזִּיָּ֤ה וּמַלְכִּיָּה֙ וּמִיָּמִ֣ן וְאֶלְעָזָ֔ר וּמַלְכִּיָּ֖ה וּבְנָיָֽה׃
  
  26 וּמִבְּנֵ֖י עֵילָ֑ם מַתַּנְיָ֤ה זְכַרְיָה֙ וִיחִיאֵ֣ל וְעַבְדִּ֔י וִירֵמ֖וֹת וְאֵלִיָּֽה׃
  
  27 וּמִבְּנֵ֖י זַתּ֑וּא אֶלְיוֹעֵנַ֤י אֶלְיָשִׁיב֙ מַתַּנְיָ֣ה וִֽירֵמ֔וֹת וְזָבָ֖ד וַעֲזִיזָֽא׃
  
  28 וּמִבְּנֵ֖י בֵּבָ֑י יְהוֹחָנָ֥ן חֲנַנְיָ֖ה זַבַּ֥י עַתְלָֽי׃

  1 Καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος τοὺς δώδεκα μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἐξουσίαν πνευμάτων ἀκαθάρτων ὥστε ἐκβάλλειν αὐτὰ καὶ θεραπεύειν πᾶσαν νόσον καὶ πᾶσαν μαλακίαν.
  
  2 τῶν δὲ δώδεκα ἀποστόλων τὰ ὀνόματά ἐστιν ταῦτα· πρῶτος Σίμων ὁ λεγόμενος Πέτρος καὶ Ἀνδρέας ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ, Ἰάκωβος ὁ τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ Ἰωάννης ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ,
  
  3 Φίλιππος καὶ Βαρθολομαῖος, Θωμᾶς καὶ Μαθθαῖος ὁ τελώνης, Ἰάκωβος ὁ τοῦ Ἁλφαίου καὶ Θαδδαῖος,
  
  4 Σίμων ὁ Καναναῖος καὶ Ἰούδας ὁ Ἰσκαριώτης ὁ καὶ παραδοὺς αὐτόν.
  
  5 Τούτους τοὺς δώδεκα ἀπέστειλεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς παραγγείλας αὐτοῖς λέγων· Εἰς ὁδὸν ἐθνῶν μὴ ἀπέλθητε καὶ εἰς πόλιν Σαμαριτῶν μὴ εἰσέλθητε·
  
  6 πορεύεσθε δὲ μᾶλλον πρὸς τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἀπολωλότα οἴκου Ἰσραήλ.
  
  7 πορευόμενοι δὲ κηρύσσετε λέγοντες ὅτι Ἤγγικεν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.
  
  8 ἀσθενοῦντας θεραπεύετε, νεκροὺς ἐγείρετε, λεπροὺς καθαρίζετε, δαιμόνια ἐκβάλλετε· δωρεὰν ἐλάβετε, δωρεὰν δότε.
  
  9 μὴ κτήσησθε χρυσὸν μηδὲ ἄργυρον μηδὲ χαλκὸν εἰς τὰς ζώνας ὑμῶν,
  
  10 μὴ πήραν εἰς ὁδὸν μηδὲ δύο χιτῶνας μηδὲ ὑποδήματα μηδὲ ῥάβδον· ἄξιος γὰρ ὁ ἐργάτης τῆς τροφῆς αὐτοῦ.
  
  11 εἰς ἣν δ’ ἂν πόλιν ἢ κώμην εἰσέλθητε, ἐξετάσατε τίς ἐν αὐτῇ ἄξιός ἐστιν· κἀκεῖ μείνατε ἕως ἂν ἐξέλθητε.
  
  12 εἰσερχόμενοι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν ἀσπάσασθε αὐτήν·
  
  13 καὶ ἐὰν μὲν ᾖ ἡ οἰκία ἀξία, ἐλθάτω ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν ἐπ’ αὐτήν· ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ᾖ ἀξία, ἡ εἰρήνη ὑμῶν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐπιστραφήτω.
  
  14 καὶ ὃς ἂν μὴ δέξηται ὑμᾶς μηδὲ ἀκούσῃ τοὺς λόγους ὑμῶν, ἐξερχόμενοι ἔξω τῆς οἰκίας ἢ τῆς πόλεως ἐκείνης ἐκτινάξατε τὸν κονιορτὸν τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν.
  
  15 ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀνεκτότερον ἔσται γῇ Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόρρων ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κρίσεως ἢ τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ.
  
  16 Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀποστέλλω ὑμᾶς ὡς πρόβατα ἐν μέσῳ λύκων· γίνεσθε οὖν φρόνιμοι ὡς οἱ ὄφεις καὶ ἀκέραιοι ὡς αἱ περιστεραί.
  
  17 προσέχετε δὲ ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων· παραδώσουσιν γὰρ ὑμᾶς εἰς συνέδρια, καὶ ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν μαστιγώσουσιν ὑμᾶς·
  
  18 καὶ ἐπὶ ἡγεμόνας δὲ καὶ βασιλεῖς ἀχθήσεσθε ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς καὶ τοῖς ἔθνεσιν.
  
  19 ὅταν δὲ παραδῶσιν ὑμᾶς, μὴ μεριμνήσητε πῶς ἢ τί λαλήσητε· δοθήσεται γὰρ ὑμῖν ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ τί λαλήσητε·
  
  20 οὐ γὰρ ὑμεῖς ἐστε οἱ λαλοῦντες ἀλλὰ τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν τὸ λαλοῦν ἐν ὑμῖν.
  
  21 παραδώσει δὲ ἀδελφὸς ἀδελφὸν εἰς θάνατον καὶ πατὴρ τέκνον, καὶ ἐπαναστήσονται τέκνα ἐπὶ γονεῖς καὶ θανατώσουσιν αὐτούς.
  
  22 καὶ ἔσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου· ὁ δὲ ὑπομείνας εἰς τέλος οὗτος σωθήσεται.
  
  23 ὅταν δὲ διώκωσιν ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ πόλει ταύτῃ, φεύγετε εἰς τὴν ἑτέραν· ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ μὴ τελέσητε τὰς πόλεις τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἕως ἂν ἔλθῃ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
  
  24 Οὐκ ἔστιν μαθητὴς ὑπὲρ τὸν διδάσκαλον οὐδὲ δοῦλος ὑπὲρ τὸν κύριον αὐτοῦ.
  
  25 ἀρκετὸν τῷ μαθητῇ ἵνα γένηται ὡς ὁ διδάσκαλος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ δοῦλος ὡς ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ. εἰ τὸν οἰκοδεσπότην Βεελζεβοὺλ ἐπεκάλεσαν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον τοὺς οἰκιακοὺς αὐτοῦ.
  
  26 Μὴ οὖν φοβηθῆτε αὐτούς· οὐδὲν γάρ ἐστιν κεκαλυμμένον ὃ οὐκ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται, καὶ κρυπτὸν ὃ οὐ γνωσθήσεται.
  
  27 ὃ λέγω ὑμῖν ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ, εἴπατε ἐν τῷ φωτί· καὶ ὃ εἰς τὸ οὖς ἀκούετε, κηρύξατε ἐπὶ τῶν δωμάτων.
  
  28 καὶ μὴ φοβεῖσθε ἀπὸ τῶν ἀποκτεννόντων τὸ σῶμα τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν μὴ δυναμένων ἀποκτεῖναι· φοβεῖσθε δὲ μᾶλλον τὸν δυνάμενον καὶ ψυχὴν καὶ σῶμα ἀπολέσαι ἐν γεέννῃ.
  
  29 οὐχὶ δύο στρουθία ἀσσαρίου πωλεῖται; καὶ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν οὐ πεσεῖται ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἄνευ τοῦ πατρὸς ὑμῶν.
  
  30 ὑμῶν δὲ καὶ αἱ τρίχες τῆς κεφαλῆς πᾶσαι ἠριθμημέναι εἰσίν.
  
  31 μὴ οὖν φοβεῖσθε· πολλῶν στρουθίων διαφέρετε ὑμεῖς.
  
  32 Πᾶς οὖν ὅστις ὁμολογήσει ἐν ἐμοὶ ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ὁμολογήσω κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτῷ ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς·
  
  33 ὅστις δ᾽ ἂν ἀρνήσηταί με ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ἀρνήσομαι κἀγὼ αὐτὸν ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς.
  
  34 Μὴ νομίσητε ὅτι ἦλθον βαλεῖν εἰρήνην ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν· οὐκ ἦλθον βαλεῖν εἰρήνην ἀλλὰ μάχαιραν.
  
  35 ἦλθον γὰρ διχάσαι ἄνθρωπον κατὰ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ θυγατέρα κατὰ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτῆς καὶ νύμφην κατὰ τῆς πενθερᾶς αὐτῆς,
  
  36 καὶ ἐχθροὶ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οἱ οἰκιακοὶ αὐτοῦ.
  
  37 ὁ φιλῶν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔστιν μου ἄξιος· καὶ ὁ φιλῶν υἱὸν ἢ θυγατέρα ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ οὐκ ἔστιν μου ἄξιος·
  
  38 καὶ ὃς οὐ λαμβάνει τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκολουθεῖ ὀπίσω μου, οὐκ ἔστιν μου ἄξιος.
  
  39 ὁ εὑρὼν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἀπολέσει αὐτήν, καὶ ὁ ἀπολέσας τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ εὑρήσει αὐτήν.

  42 καὶ ὃς ἂν ποτίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ποτήριον ψυχροῦ μόνον εἰς ὄνομα μαθητοῦ, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ μὴ ἀπολέσῃ τὸν μισθὸν αὐτοῦ.

- Genèse 11
  
  1 Et toute la terre avait une seule langue et les mêmes paroles.
  
  2 Et il arriva que lorsqu'ils partirent de l'orient, ils trouvèrent une plaine dans le pays de Shinhar ; et ils y habitèrent.
  
  3 Et ils se dirent l'un à l'autre : Allons, faisons des briques, et cuisons-les au feu. Et ils avaient la brique pour pierre, et ils avaient le bitume pour mortier.
  
  4 Et ils dirent : Allons, bâtissons-nous une ville, et une tour dont le sommet atteigne jusqu'aux cieux ; et faisons-nous un nom, de peur que nous ne soyons dispersés sur la face de toute la terre.
  
  5 Et l'Éternel descendit pour voir la ville et la tour que bâtissaient les fils des hommes.
  
  6 Et l'Éternel dit : Voici, c'est un seul peuple, et ils n'ont, eux tous, qu'un seul langage, et ils ont commencé à faire ceci ; et maintenant ils ne seront empêchés en rien de ce qu'ils pensent faire.
  
  7 Allons, descendons, et confondons là leur langage, afin qu'ils n'entendent pas le langage l'un de l'autre.
  
  8 Et l'Éternel les dispersa de là sur la face de toute la terre ; et ils cessèrent de bâtir la ville.
  
  9 C'est pourquoi on appela son nom Babel, car là l'Éternel confondit le langage de toute la terre ; et de là l'Éternel les dispersa sur la face de toute la terre.
  
  10 Ce sont ici les générations de Sem : Sem était âgé de cent ans, et il engendra Arpacshad, deux ans après le déluge.
  
  11 Et Sem, après qu'il eut engendré Arpacshad, vécut cinq cents ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  12 Et Arpacshad vécut trente cinq ans, et engendra Shélakh.
  
  13 Et Arpacshad, après qu'il eut engendré Shélakh, vécut quatre cent trois ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  14 Et Shélakh vécut trente ans, et engendra Héber.
  
  15 Et Shélakh, après qu'il eut engendré Héber, vécut quatre cent trois ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  16 Et Héber vécut trente quatre ans, et engendra Péleg.
  
  17 Et Héber, après qu'il eut engendré Péleg, vécut quatre cent trente ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  18 Et Péleg vécut trente ans, et engendra Rehu.
  
  19 Et Péleg, après qu'il eut engendré Rehu, vécut deux cent neuf ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  20 Et Rehu vécut trente-deux ans, et engendra Serug.
  
  21 Et Rehu, après qu'il eut engendré Serug, vécut deux cent sept ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  22 Et Serug vécut trente ans, et engendra Nakhor.
  
  23 Et Serug, après qu'il eut engendré Nakhor, vécut deux cents ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  24 Et Nakhor vécut vingt-neuf ans, et engendra Térakh.
  
  25 Et Nakhor, après qu'il eut engendré Térakh, vécut cent dix-neuf ans ; et il engendra des fils et des filles.
  
  26 Et Térakh vécut soixante-dix ans, et engendra Abram, Nakhor, et Haran.
  
  27 Et ce sont ici les générations de Térakh : Térakh engendra Abram, Nakhor, et Haran.
  
  28 Et Haran engendra Lot. Et Haran mourut en la présence de Térakh, son père, au pays de sa naissance, à Ur des Chaldéens. -
  
  29 Et Abram et Nakhor prirent des femmes : le nom de la femme d'Abram était Saraï, et le nom de la femme de Nakhor, Milca, fille de Haran, père de Milca et père de Jisca.
  
  30 Et Saraï était stérile, elle n'avait pas d'enfants.
  
  31 Et Térakh prit Abram son fils, et Lot, fils de Haran, fils de son fils, et Saraï, sa belle-fille, femme d'Abram, son fils ; et ils sortirent ensemble d'Ur des Chaldéens pour aller au pays de Canaan ; et ils vinrent jusqu'à Charan, et habitèrent là.
  
  32 Et les jours de Térakh furent deux cent cinq ans ; et Térakh mourut à Charan.
  
  Esdras 10
  
  1 Et comme Esdras priait et faisait sa confession, pleurant et se prosternant devant la maison de Dieu, il se rassembla vers lui, d'Israël, une très-grande congrégation d'hommes et de femmes et d'enfants, car le peuple pleurait beaucoup.
  
  2 Et Shecania, fils de Jekhiel, des fils d'Élam, prit la parole et dit à Esdras : Nous avons été infidèles à notre Dieu, et nous avons pris des femmes étrangères d'entre les peuples du pays. Mais maintenant, il y a espérance pour Israël à cet égard.
  
  3 Et maintenant, faisons alliance avec notre Dieu pour renvoyer toutes les femmes et ceux qui sont nés d'elles, selon le conseil de mon seigneur et de ceux qui tremblent aux commandements de notre Dieu, et qu'il soit fait selon la loi.
  
  4 Lève-toi, car la chose repose sur toi, et nous serons avec toi ; sois fort et agis.
  
  5 Et Esdras se leva, et il fit jurer aux chefs des sacrificateurs, des lévites, et de tout Israël, d'agir selon cette parole ; et ils jurèrent.
  
  6 Et Esdras se leva de devant la maison de Dieu, et alla dans la chambre de Jokhanan, fils d'Éliashib ; et il entra là : il ne mangea point de pain et ne but point d'eau, car il menait deuil sur le péché de ceux qui avaient été transportés.
  
  7 Et on fit passer en Juda et à Jérusalem un appel à tous les fils de la transportation de se rassembler à Jérusalem,
  
  8 et pour que quiconque ne viendrait pas dans les trois jours selon le conseil des chefs et des anciens tous ses biens fussent confisqués, et que lui-même fût séparé de la congrégation de ceux qui avaient été transportés.
  
  9 Et tous les hommes de Juda et de Benjamin se rassemblèrent à Jérusalem dans les trois jours : c'était le neuvième mois, le vingtième jour du mois ; et tout le peuple était assis dans la place de la maison de Dieu, tremblant à cause de cette affaire et à cause des pluies.
  
  10 Et Esdras, le sacrificateur, se leva et leur dit : Vous avez été infidèles, et vous avez pris des femmes étrangères, pour ajouter à la coulpe d'Israël.
  
  11 Et maintenant, faites confession à l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, et faites ce qui lui est agréable, et séparez-vous des peuples du pays et des femmes étrangères.
  
  12 Et toute la congrégation répondit et dit à haute voix :
  
  13 Oui, à nous de faire selon tes paroles ; mais le peuple est nombreux, et c'est la saison des pluies, et il n'y a pas moyen de se tenir dehors ; et ce n'est pas l'oeuvre d'un jour ni de deux, car nous avons grandement péché dans cette affaire.
  
  14 Que nos chefs donc, pendant cette affaire, se tiennent là pour toute la congrégation, et que tous ceux qui, dans nos villes, ont pris des femmes étrangères, viennent à des époques déterminées, et avec eux les anciens de chaque ville et ses juges, jusqu'à ce que l'ardeur de la colère de notre Dieu soit détournée de nous.
  
  15 Seuls, Jonathan, fils d'Asçaël, et Jakhzia, fils de Thikva, s'opposèrent à cela ; et Meshullam, et Shabthaï, le lévite, les appuyèrent.
  
  16 Et les fils de la transportation firent ainsi. Et Esdras, le sacrificateur, et des hommes qui étaient chefs des pères, furent séparés selon leurs maisons de pères, et tous par leurs noms. Et ils s'assirent le premier jour du dixième mois pour examiner l'affaire ;
  
  17 et, le premier jour du premier mois, ils en eurent fini avec tous les hommes qui avaient pris des femmes étrangères.
  
  18 Et, parmi les fils des sacrificateurs, il s'en trouva qui avaient pris des femmes étrangères : des fils de Jéshua, fils de Jotsadak, et de ses frères : Maascéïa, et Éliézer, et Jarib, et Guedalia.
  
  19 Et ils s'engagèrent à renvoyer leurs femmes, et ils offrirent pour leur faute, un bélier du troupeau comme offrande pour le délit.
  
  20 Et des fils d'Immer : Hanani et Zebadia ;
  
  21 et des fils de Harim, Maascéïa, et Élie, et Shemahia, et Jekhiel, et Ozias ;
  
  22 et des fils de Pashkhur, Elioénaï, Maascéïa, Ismaël, Nethaneël, Jozabad, et Elhasça.
  
  23 Et des lévites : Jozabad, et Shimhi, et Kélaïa (c'est Kelita), Pethakhia, Juda, et Éliézer. Et des chantres : Éliashib.
  
  24 Et des portiers : Shallum, et Télem, et Uri.
  
  25 Et de ceux d'Israël : des fils de Parhosh, Ramia et Jizzija, et Malkija, et Mijamin, et Éléazar, et Malkija, et Benaïa ;
  
  26 et des fils d'Élam, Matthania, Zacharie, et Jekhiel, et Abdi, et Jerémoth, et Élie ;
  
  27 et des fils de Zatthu, Elioénaï, Éliashib, Matthania, et Jerémoth, et Zabad, et Aziza ;
  
  28 et des fils de Bébaï, Jokhanan, Hanania, Zabbaï, Athlaï ;
  
  29 et des fils de Bani, Meshullam, Malluc, et Adaïa, Jashub, et Sheal, et Ramoth ;
  
  30 et des fils de Pakhath-Moab, Adna, et Kelal, Benaïa, Maascéïa, Matthania, Betsaleël, et Binnuï, et Manassé ;
  
  31 et les fils de Harim, Éliézer, Jishija, Malkija,
  
  32 Shemahia, Siméon, Benjamin, Malluc, Shemaria ;
  
  33 des fils de Hashum, Mathnaï, Matthattha, Zabad, Éliphéleth, Jerémaï, Manassé, Shimhi ;
  
  34 des fils de Bani, Maadaï, Amram, et Uel,
  
  35 Benaïa, Bédia, Keluhu,
  
  36 Vania, Merémoth, Éliashib,
  
  37 Matthania, Mathnaï, et Jaasçaï,
  
  38 et Bani, et Binnuï, et Shimhi,

  44 Tous ceux-ci avaient pris des femmes étrangères, et il y en avait parmi eux dont les femmes avaient eu des enfants.
  
  Matthieu 10
  
  1 Et ayant appelé ses douze disciples, il leur donna autorité sur les esprits immondes pour les chasser, et pour guérir toute maladie et toute langueur.
  
  2 Or ce sont ici les noms des douze apôtres : le premier, Simon appelé Pierre, et André son frère ; Jacques le fils de Zébédée, et Jean son frère ;
  
  3 Philippe et Barthélemy ; Thomas et Matthieu le publicain ; Jacques le fils d'Alphée, et Lebbée surnommé Thaddée ;
  
  4 Simon le Cananéen, et Judas l'Iscariote, qui aussi le livra.
  
  5 Jésus envoya ces douze et leur donna des ordres, disant : Ne vous en allez pas sur le chemin des nations, et n'entrez dans aucune ville de Samaritains ;
  
  6 mais allez plutôt vers les brebis perdues de la maison d'Israël.
  
  7 Et quand vous irez, prêchez, disant : Le royaume des cieux s'est approché.
  
  8 Guérissez les infirmes ; ressuscitez les morts ; rendez nets les lépreux ; chassez les démons : vous avez reçu gratuitement, donnez gratuitement.
  
  9 Ne faites provision ni d'or, ni d'argent, ni de cuivre dans vos ceintures,
  
  10 ni d'un sac pour le chemin, ni de deux tuniques, ni de sandales, ni d'un bâton, car l'ouvrier est digne de sa nourriture.
  
  11 Et dans quelque ville ou village que vous entriez, informez-vous qui y est digne ; et demeurez là jusqu'à ce que vous partiez.
  
  12 Et quand vous entrerez dans une maison, saluez-la.
  
  13 Et si la maison en est digne, que votre paix vienne sur elle ; mais si elle n'en est pas digne, que votre paix retourne à vous.
  
  14 Et si quelqu'un ne vous reçoit pas et n'écoute pas vos paroles, -quand vous partirez de cette maison ou de cette ville, secouez la poussière de vos pieds.
  
  15 En vérité, je vous dis : le sort du pays de Sodome et de Gomorrhe sera plus supportable au jour du jugement que celui de cette ville-là.
  
  16 Voici, moi je vous envoie comme des brebis au milieu des loups ; soyez donc prudents comme les serpents, et simples comme les colombes ;
  
  17 et soyez en garde contre les hommes, car ils vous livreront aux sanhédrins et vous fouetteront dans leurs synagogues ;
  
  18 et vous serez menés même devant les gouverneurs et les rois, à cause de moi, en témoignage à eux et aux nations.
  
  19 Et quand ils vous livreront, ne soyez pas en souci comment vous parlerez, ni de ce que vous direz ; car il vous sera donné dans cette heure-là ce que vous direz ;
  
  20 car ce n'est pas vous qui parlez, mais c'est l'Esprit de votre Père qui parle en vous.
  
  21 Et le frère livrera son frère à la mort, et le père son enfant ; et les enfants s'élèveront contre leurs parents et les feront mourir ;
  
  22 et vous serez haïs de tous à cause de mon nom ; et celui qui persévérera jusqu'à la fin, celui-là sera sauvé.
  
  23 Mais quand on vous persécutera dans cette ville, fuyez dans l'autre ; car, en vérité, je vous dis : Vous n'aurez point achevé de parcourir les villes d'Israël, que le fils de l'homme ne soit venu.
  
  24 Le disciple n'est pas au-dessus du maître, ni l'esclave au-dessus de son seigneur.
  
  25 Il suffit au disciple qu'il soit comme son maître, et à l'esclave qu'il soit comme son seigneur : s'ils ont appelé le maître de la maison Béelzébul, combien plus les gens de sa maison ?
  
  26 Ne les craignez donc pas ; car il n'y a rien de couvert qui ne sera révélé, ni rien de secret qui ne sera connu.
  
  27 Ce que je vous dis dans les ténèbres, dites-le dans la lumière ; et ce qui vous est dit à l'oreille, prêchez-le sur les toits.
  
  28 Et ne craignez pas ceux qui tuent le corps et qui ne peuvent pas tuer l'âme ; mais craignez plutôt celui qui peut détruire et l'âme et le corps, dans la géhenne.
  
  29 Ne vend-on pas deux passereaux pour un sou ? Et pas un seul d'entre eux ne tombe en terre, sans votre Père.
  
  30 Et pour vous, les cheveux même de votre tête sont tous comptés.
  
  31 Ne craignez donc pas : vous valez mieux que beaucoup de passereaux.
  
  32 Quiconque donc me confessera devant les hommes, moi aussi je le confesserai devant mon Père qui est dans les cieux ;
  
  33 mais quiconque me reniera devant les hommes, moi aussi je le renierai devant mon Père qui est dans les cieux.
  
  34 Ne pensez pas que je sois venu mettre la paix sur la terre ; je ne suis pas venu mettre la paix, mais l'épée :
  
  35 car je suis venu jeter la division entre un homme et son père, entre la fille et sa mère, entre la belle-fille et sa belle-mère ;
  
  36 et les ennemis d'un homme seront les gens de sa maison.
  
  37 Celui qui aime père ou mère plus que moi, n'est pas digne de moi ; et celui qui aime fils ou fille plus que moi, n'est pas digne de moi ;
  
  38 et celui qui ne prend pas sa croix et ne vient pas après moi, n'est pas digne de moi.
  
  39 Celui qui aura trouvé sa vie, la perdra ; et celui qui aura perdu sa vie pour l'amour de moi, la trouvera.
  
  40 Celui qui vous reçoit, me reçoit ; et celui qui me reçoit, reçoit celui qui m'a envoyé.
  
  41 Celui qui reçoit un prophète en qualité de prophète, recevra la récompense d'un prophète ; et celui qui reçoit un juste en qualité de juste, recevra la récompense d'un juste.
  
  42 Et quiconque aura donné à boire seulement une coupe d'eau froide à l'un de ces petits, en qualité de disciple, en vérité, je vous dis, il ne perdra point sa récompense.
