- 2 Samuel 18
  
  1 Et David passa en revue le peuple qui était avec lui, et il établit sur eux des chefs de milliers et des chefs de centaines.
  
  2 Et David envoya le peuple, un tiers sous la main de Joab, et un tiers sous la main d'Abishaï, fils de Tseruïa et frère de Joab, et un tiers sous la main d'Itthaï, le Guitthien. Et le roi dit au peuple : Certainement je sortirai moi aussi avec vous.
  
  3 Mais le peuple dit : Tu ne sortiras point ; car quand nous viendrions à fuir, ils ne prendraient pas garde à nous, et quand la moitié d'entre nous mourrait, ils ne prendraient pas garde à nous ; car toi, tu es comme dix mille d'entre nous ; et maintenant il est bon que, de la ville, tu nous sois en secours.
  
  4 Et le roi leur dit : Je ferai ce qui est bon à vos yeux. Et le roi se tint à côté de la porte, et tout le peuple sortit par centaines et par milliers.
  
  5 Et le roi commanda à Joab, et à Abishaï, et à Itthaï, disant : Usez-moi de douceur envers le jeune homme, Absalom. Et tout le peuple entendit lorsque le roi donna ses ordres à tous les chefs touchant Absalom.
  
  6 Et le peuple sortit dans la campagne à la rencontre d'Israël ; et la bataille eut lieu dans la forêt d'Éphraïm.
  
  7 Et le peuple d'Israël fut battu là par les serviteurs de David ; et le carnage fut grand ce jour-là... vingt mille hommes.
  
  8 Et la bataille s'étendit là sur toute la surface du pays, et la forêt dévora en ce jour plus de peuple que n'en dévora l'épée.
  
  9 Et Absalom se trouva en présence des serviteurs de David, et Absalom montait un mulet ; et le mulet entra sous les branches entrelacées d'un grand térébinthe ; et la tête d'Absalom se prit dans le térébinthe, et il demeura suspendu entre le ciel et la terre ; et le mulet qui était sous lui passa outre.
  
  10 Et un homme vit cela, et le rapporta à Joab, et dit : Voici, j'ai vu Absalom suspendu à un térébinthe.
  
  11 Et Joab dit à l'homme qui le lui rapportait : Et voici, tu l'as vu, et pourquoi ne l'as-tu pas abattu là par terre ? Et c'eût été à moi de te donner dix pièces d'argent et une ceinture.
  
  12 Et l'homme dit à Joab : Et quand je pèserais dans ma main mille pièces d'argent, je n'étendrais pas ma main sur le fils du roi ; car à nos oreilles le roi t'a commandé, à toi, et à Abishaï, et à Itthaï, disant : Prenez garde, qui de vous que ce soit, au jeune homme Absalom ;...
  
  13 ou j'eusse agi perfidement contre ma vie, car rien n'est caché au roi, et toi tu aurais pris parti contre moi.
  
  14 Et Joab dit : Je ne m'attarderai pas ainsi devant toi. Et il prit trois javelots dans sa main, et les enfonça dans le coeur d'Absalom, alors qu'il était encore vivant au milieu du térébinthe.
  
  15 Et dix jeunes hommes qui portaient les armes de Joab entourèrent et frappèrent Absalom, et le mirent à mort.
  
  16 Et Joab sonna de la trompette, et le peuple revint de la poursuite d'Israël, car Joab retint le peuple.
  
  17 Et ils prirent Absalom et le jetèrent dans la forêt, dans une grande fosse, et élevèrent sur lui un très-grand monceau de pierres. Et tout Israël s'enfuit, chacun à sa tente.
  
  18 Et Absalom avait pris et dressé pour lui, de son vivant, une stèle qui est dans la vallée du Roi ; car il disait : Je n'ai pas de fils pour rappeler la mémoire de mon nom. Et il appela la stèle de son nom ; et elle est appelée jusqu'à ce jour le monument d'Absalom.
  
  19 Et Akhimaats, fils de Tsadok, dit : Laisse-moi courir et porter au roi la nouvelle que l'Éternel lui a fait justice de la main de ses ennemis.
  
  20 Et Joab lui dit : Tu ne seras pas l'homme qui portera les nouvelles aujourd'hui, mais tu porteras les nouvelles un autre jour ; aujourd'hui tu ne porteras pas les nouvelles, puisque le fils du roi est mort.
  
  21 Et Joab dit au Cushite : Va, rapporte au roi ce que tu as vu. Et le Cushite se prosterna devant Joab, et courut.
  
  22 Et Akhimaats, le fils de Tsadok, dit encore une fois à Joab : Quoi qu'il arrive, que je coure, moi aussi, je te prie, après le Cushite. Et Joab dit : Pourquoi veux-tu courir, mon fils, puisque tu n'as pas des nouvelles opportunes ?
  
  23 -Et quoi qu'il arrive, je veux courir. Et Joab lui dit : Cours ! Et Akhimaats courut par le chemin de la plaine, et dépassa le Cushite.
  
  24 Et David était assis entre les deux portes ; et la sentinelle alla sur le toit de la porte, sur la muraille, et elle leva les yeux, et regarda, et voici un homme qui courait seul.
  
  25 Et la sentinelle cria et le rapporta au roi ; et le roi dit : S'il est seul, il y a des nouvelles dans sa bouche. Et l'homme allait toujours, et approchait.
  
  26 Et la sentinelle vit un autre homme qui courait, et la sentinelle cria au portier et dit : Voici, un homme court seul. Et le roi dit : Celui-ci aussi apporte des nouvelles.
  
  27 Et la sentinelle dit : Je vois le premier courir comme court Akhimaats, fils de Tsadok. Et le roi dit : C'est un homme de bien, il vient avec de bonnes nouvelles.
  
  28 Et Akhimaats cria, et dit au roi : Paix ! Et il se prosterna devant le visage contre terre, et dit : Béni soit l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui a livré les hommes qui avaient levé leurs mains contre le roi, mon seigneur !
  
  29 Et le roi dit : Y a-t-il paix pour le jeune homme Absalom ? Et Akhimaats dit : J'ai vu un grand tumulte lorsque Joab envoya le serviteur du roi et ton serviteur, et je ne sais ce qu'il y avait.
  
  30 Et le roi dit : Tourne-toi, et tiens-toi là. Et il se tourna, et se tint là.
  
  31 Et voici, le Cushite arriva, et le Cushite dit : Que le roi, mon seigneur reçoive une bonne nouvelle, car l'Éternel t'a aujourd'hui fait justice de la main de tous ceux qui s'étaient levés contre toi.
  
  32 Et le roi dit au Cushite : Y a-t-il paix pour le jeune homme Absalom ? Et le Cushite dit : Que les ennemis du roi, mon seigneur, et tous ceux qui se sont levés contre toi pour le mal, soient comme ce jeune homme !
  
  33 Et le roi fut très-ému, et il monta à la chambre au-dessus de la porte et pleura ; et en allant, il disait ainsi : Mon fils Absalom ! mon fils ! mon fils Absalom ! Fussé-je mort à ta place ! Absalom, mon fils, mon fils !
  
  Ezéchiel 25
  
  1 Et la parole de l'Éternel vint à moi, disant :
  
  2 Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers les fils d'Ammon, et prophétise contre eux,
  
  3 et dis aux fils d'Ammon : Écoutez la parole du Seigneur, l'Éternel ! Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Parce que tu as dit : Ha ha ! contre mon sanctuaire, quand il a été profané, et contre la terre d'Israël, quand elle a été désolée, et contre la maison de Juda, quand elle est allée en captivité :
  
  4 à cause de cela, voici, je te donne en possession aux fils de l'orient, et ils établiront chez toi leurs parcs, et placeront chez toi leurs demeures ; ils mangeront tes fruits et boiront ton lait.
  
  5 Et je ferai de Rabba un pâturage pour les chameaux, et du pays des fils d'Ammon un gîte pour le menu bétail ; et vous saurez que je suis l'Éternel.
  
  6 Car ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Parce que tu as battu des mains et que tu as frappé du pied, et que tu t'es réjoui dans tout le mépris que tu avais en ton âme contre la terre d'Israël,
  
  7 -à cause de cela, voici, j'étendrai ma main sur toi et je te livrerai en proie aux nations, et je te retrancherai d'entre les peuples, et je te ferai périr d'entre les pays ; je te détruirai, et tu sauras que je suis l'Éternel.
  
  8 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Parce que Moab et Séhir ont dit : Voici, la maison de Juda est comme toutes les nations ;
  
  9 à cause de cela, voici, j'ouvre le côté de Moab par les villes, par ses villes, jusqu'à la dernière, la gloire du pays, Beth-Jeshimoth, Baal-Méon, et Kiriathaïm ;
  
  10 je l'ouvre aux fils de l'orient, avec le pays des fils d'Ammon ; et je leur donnerai en possession, afin qu'on ne se souvienne plus des fils d'Ammon parmi les nations ;
  
  11 et j'exécuterai des jugements sur Moab ; et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel.
  
  12 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : A cause de ce qu'Édom a fait quand il s'est vengé cruellement de la maison de Juda, et parce qu'il s'est rendu fort coupable en se vengeant d'eux,
  
  13 -à cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : J'étendrai ma main aussi sur Édom, et j'en retrancherai hommes et bêtes, et j'en ferai un désert depuis Théman, et, jusqu'à Dedan, ils tomberont par l'épée ;
  
  14 et j'exercerai ma vengeance sur Édom par la main de mon peuple Israël ; et ils agiront en Édom selon ma colère et selon ma fureur ; et ils connaîtront ma vengeance, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
  
  15 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : A cause de ce que les Philistins ont fait par vengeance, et parce qu'ils se sont vengés cruellement, dans le mépris de leurs âmes, pour détruire par une inimitié perpétuelle,
  
  16 -à cause de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Voici, j'étends ma main sur les Philistins, et je retrancherai les Keréthiens, et je ferai périr le reste qui est sur le bord de la mer ;
  
  17 et j'exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances par des châtiments de fureur ; et ils sauront que je suis l'Éternel, quand j'exécuterai sur eux ma vengeance.
  
  2 Corinthiens 11
  
  1 Je voudrais que vous supportassiez un peu ma folie ! Mais aussi supportez-moi.
  
  2 Car je suis jaloux à votre égard d'une jalousie de Dieu ; car je vous ai fiancés à un seul mari, pour vous présenter au Christ comme une vierge chaste.
  
  3 Mais je crains que, en quelque manière, comme le serpent séduisit Eve par sa ruse, ainsi vos pensées ne soient corrompues et détournées de la simplicité quant au Christ.
  
  4 Car si celui qui vient prêche un autre Jésus que nous n'avons pas prêché, ou que vous receviez un esprit différent que vous n'avez pas reçu, ou un évangile différent que vous n'avez pas reçu, vous pourriez bien le supporter.
  
  5 Car j'estime que je n'ai été en rien moindre que les plus excellents apôtres.
  
  6 Et si même je suis un homme simple quant au langage, je ne le suis pourtant pas quant à la connaissance ; mais nous avons été manifestés de toute manière, en toutes choses, envers vous.
  
  7 Ai-je commis une faute en m'abaissant moi-même, afin que vous fussiez élevés, parce que je vous ai annoncé gratuitement l'évangile de Dieu ?
  
  8 J'ai dépouillé d'autres assemblées en recevant un salaire pour vous servir. Et me trouvant auprès de vous et dans le besoin, je n'ai été à charge à personne ;
  
  9 (car les frères venus de Macédoine ont suppléé à mes besoins ;) et je me suis gardé de vous être à charge en quoi que ce soit, et je m'en garderai.
  
  10 Comme la vérité de Christ est en moi, cette gloire ne me sera pas interdite dans les contrées de l'Achaïe.
  
  11 Pourquoi ? Est-ce parce que je ne vous aime pas ? Dieu le sait.
  
  12 Mais ce que je fais, je le ferai encore, pour retrancher l'occasion à ceux qui veulent une occasion, afin qu'en ce de quoi ils se glorifient, ils soient trouvés aussi tels que nous.
  
  13 Car de tels hommes sont de faux apôtres, des ouvriers trompeurs, se transformant en apôtres de Christ ;
  
  14 et ce n'est pas étonnant, car Satan lui-même se transforme en ange de lumière :
  
  15 ce n'est donc pas chose étrange si ses ministres aussi se transforment en ministres de justice, desquels la fin sera selon leurs oeuvres.
  
  16 Je le dis encore : que personne ne me tienne pour un insensé ; ou bien, s'il en est autrement, recevez-moi, même comme un insensé, afin que moi aussi je me glorifie un peu.
  
  17 Ce que je dis, je ne le dis pas selon le Seigneur, mais comme un insensé, dans cette assurance dont j'use en me glorifiant.
  
  18 Puisque plusieurs se glorifient selon la chair, moi aussi je me glorifierai.
  
  19 Car vous supportez volontiers les insensés, étant sages vous-mêmes.
  
  20 Car si quelqu'un vous asservit, si quelqu'un vous dévore, si quelqu'un prend votre bien, si quelqu'un s'élève, si quelqu'un vous frappe au visage, vous le supportez.
  
  21 Je le dis pour ce qui regarde le déshonneur, comme si nous, nous avions été faibles ; mais dans ce en quoi quelqu'un pourrait être osé (je parle en insensé), moi aussi je suis osé.
  
  22 Sont-ils Hébreux ? -moi aussi. Sont-ils Israélites ? -moi aussi. Sont-ils la semence d'Abraham ? -moi aussi.
  
  23 Sont-ils ministres de Christ ? (je parle comme un homme hors de sens,) -moi outre mesure ; dans les travaux surabondamment, sous les coups excessivement, dans les prisons surabondamment, dans les morts souvent
  
  24 (cinq fois j'ai reçu des Juifs quarante coups moins un ;
  
  25 trois fois j'ai été battu de verges ; une fois j'ai été lapidé ; trois fois j'ai fait naufrage ; j'ai passé un jour et une nuit dans les profondeurs de la mer) ;
  
  26 en voyages souvent, dans les périls sur les fleuves, dans les périls de la part des brigands, dans les périls de la part de mes compatriotes, dans les périls de la part des nations, dans les périls à la ville, dans les périls au désert, dans les périls en mer, dans les périls parmi de faux frères,
  
  27 peine et en labeur, en veilles souvent, dans la faim et la soif, dans les jeûnes souvent, dans le froid et la nudité :
  
  28 outre ces choses exceptionnelles, il y a ce qui me tient assiégé tous les jours, la sollicitude pour toutes les assemblées.
  
  29 Qui est faible, que je ne sois faible aussi ? Qui est scandalisé, que moi aussi je ne brûle ?
  
  30 S'il faut se glorifier, je me glorifierai dans ce qui est de mon infirmité.
  
  31 Dieu et Père du Seigneur Jésus (lui qui est béni éternellement), sait que je ne mens point.
  
  32 A Damas, l'ethnarque du roi Arétas faisait garder la ville des Damascéniens, voulant se saisir de moi ;
  
  33 et je fus dévalé dans une corbeille par une fenêtre à travers la muraille, et j'échappai à ses mains.
- 2 Samuel 18
  
  1 David numbered the people who were with him, and set captains of thousands and captains of hundreds over them.
  
  2 David sent forth the people, a third part under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. The king said to the people, "I will surely go forth with you myself also."
  
  3 But the people said, "You shall not go forth; for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us. But you are worth ten thousand of us. Therefore now it is better that you are ready to help us out of the city."
  
  4 The king said to them, "I will do what seems best to you." The king stood beside the gate, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.
  
  5 The king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying, "Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom." All the people heard when the king commanded all the captains concerning Absalom.
  
  6 So the people went out into the field against Israel: and the battle was in the forest of Ephraim.
  
  7 The people of Israel were struck there before the servants of David, and there was a great slaughter there that day of twenty thousand men.
  
  8 For the battle was there spread over the surface of all the country; and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.
  
  9 Absalom happened to meet the servants of David. Absalom was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between the sky and earth; and the mule that was under him went on.
  
  10 A certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said, "Behold, I saw Absalom hanging in an oak."
  
  11 Joab said to the man who told him, "Behold, you saw it, and why didn't you strike him there to the ground? I would have given you ten pieces of silver, and a sash."
  
  12 The man said to Joab, "Though I should receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, I still wouldn't put forth my hand against the king's son; for in our hearing the king commanded you and Abishai and Ittai, saying, 'Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.'
  
  13 Otherwise if I had dealt falsely against his life (and there is no matter hidden from the king), then you yourself would have set yourself against me."
  
  14 Then Joab said, "I'm not going to wait like this with you." He took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.
  
  15 Ten young men who bore Joab's armor surrounded and struck Absalom, and killed him.
  
  16 Joab blew the trumpet, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel; for Joab held back the people.
  
  17 They took Absalom, and cast him into the great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones. Then all Israel fled everyone to his tent.
  
  18 Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself the pillar, which is in the king's dale; for he said, "I have no son to keep my name in memory." He called the pillar after his own name; and it is called Absalom's monument, to this day.
  
  19 Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said, "Let me now run, and bear the king news, how that Yahweh has avenged him of his enemies."
  
  20 Joab said to him, "You shall not be the bearer of news this day, but you shall bear news another day. But today you shall bear no news, because the king's son is dead."
  
  21 Then Joab said to the Cushite, "Go, tell the king what you have seen!" The Cushite bowed himself to Joab, and ran.
  
  22 Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said yet again to Joab, "But come what may, please let me also run after the Cushite." Joab said, "Why do you want to run, my son, since that you will have no reward for the news?"
  
  23 "But come what may," he said, "I will run." He said to him, "Run!" Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the Plain, and outran the Cushite.
  
  24 Now David was sitting between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof of the gate to the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, a man running alone.
  
  25 The watchman cried, and told the king. The king said, "If he is alone, there is news in his mouth." He came closer and closer.
  
  26 The watchman saw another man running; and the watchman called to the porter, and said, "Behold, a man running alone!" The king said, "He also brings news."
  
  27 The watchman said, "I think the running of the first one is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok." The king said, "He is a good man, and comes with good news."
  
  28 Ahimaaz called, and said to the king, "All is well." He bowed himself before the king with his face to the earth, and said, "Blessed is Yahweh your God, who has delivered up the men who lifted up their hand against my lord the king!"
  
  29 The king said, "Is it well with the young man Absalom?" Ahimaaz answered, "When Joab sent the king's servant, even me your servant, I saw a great tumult, but I don't know what it was."
  
  30 The king said, "Turn aside, and stand here." He turned aside, and stood still.
  
  31 Behold, the Cushite came. The Cushite said, "News for my lord the king; for Yahweh has avenged you this day of all those who rose up against you."
  
  32 The king said to the Cushite, "Is it well with the young man Absalom?" The Cushite answered, "May the enemies of my lord the king, and all who rise up against you to do you harm, be as that young man is."
  
  33 The king was much moved, and went up to the room over the gate, and wept. As he went, he said, "My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! I wish I had died for you, Absalom, my son, my son!"
  
  Ezéchiel 25
  
  1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
  
  2 Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them:
  
  3 and tell the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Because you said, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:
  
  4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in you, and make their dwellings in you; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk.
  
  5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
  
  6 For thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because you have clapped your hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the despite of your soul against the land of Israel;
  
  7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries: I will destroy you; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.
  
  8 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;
  
  9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,
  
  10 to the children of the east, [to go] against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.
  
  11 and I will execute judgments on Moab; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.
  
  12 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself on them;
  
  13 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; even to Dedan shall they fall by the sword.
  
  14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord Yahweh.
  
  15 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with despite of soul to destroy with perpetual enmity;
  
  16 therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
  
  17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall lay my vengeance on them.
  
  2 Corinthiens 11
  
  1 I wish that you would bear with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you do bear with me.
  
  2 For I am jealous over you with a godly jealousy. For I married you to one husband, that I might present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
  
  3 But I am afraid that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve in his craftiness, so your minds might be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
  
  4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if you receive a different spirit, which you did not receive, or a different "good news", which you did not accept, you put up with that well enough.
  
  5 For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles.
  
  6 But though I am unskilled in speech, yet I am not unskilled in knowledge. No, in every way we have been revealed to you in all things.
  
  7 Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God's Good News free of charge?
  
  8 I robbed other assemblies, taking wages from them that I might serve you.
  
  9 When I was present with you and was in need, I wasn't a burden on anyone, for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my need. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will continue to do so.
  
  10 As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
  
  11 Why? Because I don't love you? God knows.
  
  12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them that desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we.
  
  13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ's apostles.
  
  14 And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
  
  15 It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
  
  16 I say again, let no one think me foolish. But if so, yet receive me as foolish, that I also may boast a little.
  
  17 That which I speak, I don't speak according to the Lord, but as in foolishness, in this confidence of boasting.
  
  18 Seeing that many boast after the flesh, I will also boast.
  
  19 For you bear with the foolish gladly, being wise.
  
  20 For you bear with a man, if he brings you into bondage, if he devours you, if he takes you captive, if he exalts himself, if he strikes you on the face.
  
  21 I speak by way of disparagement, as though we had been weak. Yet however any is bold (I speak in foolishness), I am bold also.
  
  22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.
  
  23 Are they servants of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself) I am more so; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths often.
  
  24 Five times from the Jews I received forty stripes minus one.
  
  25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep.
  
  26 I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;
  
  27 in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.
  
  28 Besides those things that are outside, there is that which presses on me daily, anxiety for all the assemblies.
  
  29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to stumble, and I don't burn with indignation?
  
  30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that concern my weakness.
  
  31 The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, he who is blessed forevermore, knows that I don't lie.
  
  32 In Damascus the governor under King Aretas guarded the city of the Damascenes desiring to arrest me.
  
  33 Through a window I was let down in a basket by the wall, and escaped his hands.

  4 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם֙ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־יִיטַ֥ב בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֖ם אֶעֱשֶׂ֑ה וַיַּעֲמֹ֤ד הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אֶל־יַ֣ד הַשַּׁ֔עַר וְכָל־הָעָם֙ יָֽצְא֔וּ לְמֵא֖וֹת וְלַאֲלָפִֽים׃
  
  5 וַיְצַ֣ו הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ אֶת־י֠וֹאָב וְאֶת־אֲבִישַׁ֤י וְאֶת־אִתַּי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לְאַט־לִ֖י לַנַּ֣עַר לְאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם וְכָל־הָעָ֣ם שָׁמְע֗וּ בְּצַוֺּ֥ת הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ אֶת־כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֖ים עַל־דְּבַ֥ר אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃
  
  6 וַיֵּצֵ֥א הָעָ֛ם הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה לִקְרַ֣את יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַתְּהִ֥י הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה בְּיַ֥עַר אֶפְרָֽיִם׃
  
  7 וַיִּנָּ֤גְפוּ שָׁם֙ עַ֣ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִפְנֵ֖י עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֑ד וַתְּהִי־שָׁ֞ם הַמַּגֵּפָ֧ה גְדוֹלָ֛ה בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא עֶשְׂרִ֥ים אָֽלֶף׃
  
  8 וַתְּהִי־שָׁ֧ם הַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה *נפצית **נָפֹ֖צֶת עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כָל־הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיֶּ֤רֶב הַיַּ֙עַר֙ לֶאֱכֹ֣ל בָּעָ֔ם מֵאֲשֶׁ֥ר אָכְלָ֛ה הַחֶ֖רֶב בַּיּ֥וֹם הַהֽוּא׃
  
  9 וַיִּקָּרֵא֙ אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם לִפְנֵ֖י עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֑ד וְאַבְשָׁל֞וֹם רֹכֵ֣ב עַל־הַפֶּ֗רֶד וַיָּבֹ֣א הַפֶּ֡רֶד תַּ֣חַת שׂוֹבֶךְ֩ הָאֵלָ֨ה הַגְּדוֹלָ֜ה וַיֶּחֱזַ֧ק רֹאשׁ֣וֹ בָאֵלָ֗ה וַיֻּתַּן֙ בֵּ֤ין הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ וּבֵ֣ין הָאָ֔רֶץ וְהַפֶּ֥רֶד אֲשֶׁר־תַּחְתָּ֖יו עָבָֽר׃
  
  10 וַיַּרְא֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶחָ֔ד וַיַּגֵּ֖ד לְיוֹאָ֑ב וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּה֙ רָאִ֣יתִי אֶת־אַבְשָׁלֹ֔ם תָּל֖וּי בָּאֵלָֽה׃
  
  11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יוֹאָ֗ב לָאִישׁ֙ הַמַּגִּ֣יד ל֔וֹ וְהִנֵּ֣ה רָאִ֔יתָ וּמַדּ֛וּעַ לֹֽא־הִכִּית֥וֹ שָׁ֖ם אָ֑רְצָה וְעָלַ֗י לָ֤תֶת לְךָ֙ עֲשָׂ֣רָה כֶ֔סֶף וַחֲגֹרָ֖ה אֶחָֽת׃
  
  12 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הָאִישׁ֙ אֶל־יוֹאָ֔ב *ולא **וְל֨וּא אָנֹכִ֜י שֹׁקֵ֤ל עַל־כַּפַּי֙ אֶ֣לֶף כֶּ֔סֶף לֹֽא־אֶשְׁלַ֥ח יָדִ֖י אֶל־בֶּן־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ כִּ֣י בְאָזְנֵ֜ינוּ צִוָּ֣ה הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ אֹ֠תְךָ וְאֶת־אֲבִישַׁ֤י וְאֶת־אִתַּי֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר שִׁמְרוּ־מִ֕י בַּנַּ֖עַר בְּאַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃
  
  13 אֽוֹ־עָשִׂ֤יתִי *בנפשו **בְנַפְשִׁי֙ שֶׁ֔קֶר וְכָל־דָּבָ֖ר לֹא־יִכָּחֵ֣ד מִן־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וְאַתָּ֖ה תִּתְיַצֵּ֥ב מִנֶּֽגֶד׃
  
  14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יוֹאָ֔ב לֹא־כֵ֖ן אֹחִ֣ילָה לְפָנֶ֑יךָ וַיִּקַּח֩ שְׁלֹשָׁ֨ה שְׁבָטִ֜ים בְּכַפּ֗וֹ וַיִּתְקָעֵם֙ בְּלֵ֣ב אַבְשָׁל֔וֹם עוֹדֶ֥נּוּ חַ֖י בְּלֵ֥ב הָאֵלָֽה׃
  
  15 וַיָּסֹ֙בּוּ֙ עֲשָׂרָ֣ה נְעָרִ֔ים נֹשְׂאֵ֖י כְּלֵ֣י יוֹאָ֑ב וַיַּכּ֥וּ אֶת־אַבְשָׁל֖וֹם וַיְמִיתֻֽהוּ׃
  
  16 וַיִּתְקַ֤ע יוֹאָב֙ בַּשֹּׁפָ֔ר וַיָּ֣שָׁב הָעָ֔ם מִרְדֹ֖ף אַחֲרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּֽי־חָשַׂ֥ךְ יוֹאָ֖ב אֶת־הָעָֽם׃
  
  17 וַיִּקְח֣וּ אֶת־אַבְשָׁל֗וֹם וַיַּשְׁלִ֨יכוּ אֹת֤וֹ בַיַּ֙עַר֙ אֶל־הַפַּ֣חַת הַגָּד֔וֹל וַיַּצִּ֧בוּ עָלָ֛יו גַּל־אֲבָנִ֖ים גָּד֣וֹל מְאֹ֑ד וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נָ֖סוּ אִ֥ישׁ *לאהלו **לְאֹהָלָֽיו׃
  
  18 וְאַבְשָׁלֹ֣ם לָקַ֗ח וַיַּצֶּב־ל֤וֹ *בחיו **בְחַיָּיו֙ אֶת־מַצֶּ֙בֶת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּעֵֽמֶק־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כִּ֤י אָמַר֙ אֵֽין־לִ֣י בֵ֔ן בַּעֲב֖וּר הַזְכִּ֣יר שְׁמִ֑י וַיִּקְרָ֤א לַמַּצֶּ֙בֶת֙ עַל־שְׁמ֔וֹ וַיִּקָּ֤רֵא לָהּ֙ יַ֣ד אַבְשָׁלֹ֔ם עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  19 וַאֲחִימַ֤עַץ בֶּן־צָדוֹק֙ אָמַ֔ר אָר֣וּצָה נָּ֔א וַאֲבַשְּׂרָ֖ה אֶת־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ כִּי־שְׁפָט֥וֹ יְהוָ֖ה מִיַּ֥ד אֹיְבָֽיו׃
  
  20 וַיֹּ֧אמֶר ל֣וֹ יוֹאָ֗ב לֹא֩ אִ֨ישׁ בְּשֹׂרָ֤ה אַתָּה֙ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה וּבִשַּׂרְתָּ֖ בְּי֣וֹם אַחֵ֑ר וְהַיּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ לֹ֣א תְבַשֵּׂ֔ר כִּֽי־*על **עַל־**כֵּ֥ן בֶּן־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מֵֽת׃
  
  21 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יוֹאָב֙ לַכּוּשִׁ֔י לֵ֛ךְ הַגֵּ֥ד לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָאִ֑יתָה וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ כוּשִׁ֛י לְיוֹאָ֖ב וַיָּרֹֽץ׃
  
  22 וַיֹּ֨סֶף ע֜וֹד אֲחִימַ֤עַץ בֶּן־צָדוֹק֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־יוֹאָ֔ב וִ֣יהִי מָ֔ה אָרֻֽצָה־נָּ֥א גַם־אָ֖נִי אַחֲרֵ֣י הַכּוּשִׁ֑י וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יוֹאָ֗ב לָֽמָּה־זֶּ֞ה אַתָּ֥ה רָץ֙ בְּנִ֔י וּלְכָ֖ה אֵין־בְּשׂוֹרָ֥ה מֹצֵֽאת׃
  
  23 וִיהִי־מָ֣ה אָר֔וּץ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ ר֑וּץ וַיָּ֤רָץ אֲחִימַ֙עַץ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַכִּכָּ֔ר וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־הַכּוּשִֽׁי׃
  
  24 וְדָוִ֥ד יוֹשֵׁ֖ב בֵּין־שְׁנֵ֣י הַשְּׁעָרִ֑ים וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ הַצֹּפֶ֜ה אֶל־גַּ֤ג הַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ אֶל־הַ֣חוֹמָ֔ה וַיִּשָּׂ֤א אֶת־עֵינָיו֙ וַיַּ֔רְא וְהִנֵּה־אִ֖ישׁ רָ֥ץ לְבַדּֽוֹ׃
  
  25 וַיִּקְרָ֤א הַצֹּפֶה֙ וַיַּגֵּ֣ד לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אִם־לְבַדּ֖וֹ בְּשׂוֹרָ֣ה בְּפִ֑יו וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ הָל֖וֹךְ וְקָרֵֽב׃
  
  26 וַיַּ֣רְא הַצֹּפֶה֮ אִישׁ־אַחֵ֣ר רָץ֒ וַיִּקְרָ֤א הַצֹּפֶה֙ אֶל־הַשֹּׁעֵ֔ר וַיֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּה־אִ֖ישׁ רָ֣ץ לְבַדּ֑וֹ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ גַּם־זֶ֥ה מְבַשֵּֽׂר׃
  
  27 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הַצֹּפֶ֔ה אֲנִ֤י רֹאֶה֙ אֶת־מְרוּצַ֣ת הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן כִּמְרֻצַ֖ת אֲחִימַ֣עַץ בֶּן־צָד֑וֹק וַיֹּ֤אמֶר הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ אִֽישׁ־ט֣וֹב זֶ֔ה וְאֶל־בְּשׂוֹרָ֥ה טוֹבָ֖ה יָבֽוֹא׃
  
  28 וַיִּקְרָ֣א אֲחִימַ֗עַץ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ שָׁל֔וֹם וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ לַמֶּ֛לֶךְ לְאַפָּ֖יו אָ֑רְצָה סוַיֹּ֗אמֶר בָּרוּךְ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֤ר סִגַּר֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־נָשְׂא֥וּ אֶת־יָדָ֖ם בַּֽאדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
  
  29 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ שָׁל֥וֹם לַנַּ֖עַר לְאַבְשָׁל֑וֹם וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲחִימַ֡עַץ רָאִיתִי֩ הֶהָמ֨וֹן הַגָּד֜וֹל לִ֠שְׁלֹחַ אֶת־עֶ֨בֶד הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ יוֹאָב֙ וְאֶת־עַבְדֶּ֔ךָ וְלֹ֥א יָדַ֖עְתִּי מָֽה׃
  
  30 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ סֹ֖ב הִתְיַצֵּ֣ב כֹּ֑ה וַיִּסֹּ֖ב וַֽיַּעֲמֹֽד׃
  
  31 וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַכּוּשִׁ֖י בָּ֑א וַיֹּ֣אמֶר הַכּוּשִׁ֗י יִתְבַּשֵּׂר֙ אֲדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ כִּֽי־שְׁפָטְךָ֤ יְהוָה֙ הַיּ֔וֹם מִיַּ֖ד כָּל־הַקָּמִ֥ים עָלֶֽיךָ׃

  2 בֶּן־אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖יךָ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֑וֹן וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  3 וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ לִבְנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה כֹּה־אָמַ֣ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֡ה יַעַן֩ אָמְרֵ֨ךְ הֶאָ֜ח אֶל־מִקְדָּשִׁ֣י כִֽי־נִחָ֗ל וְאֶל־אַדְמַ֤ת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ כִּ֣י נָשַׁ֔מָּה וְאֶל־בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה כִּ֥י הָלְכ֖וּ בַּגּוֹלָֽה׃
  
  4 לָכֵ֡ן הִנְנִי֩ נֹתְנָ֨ךְ לִבְנֵי־קֶ֜דֶם לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֗ה וְיִשְּׁב֤וּ טִירֽוֹתֵיהֶם֙ בָּ֔ךְ וְנָ֥תְנוּ בָ֖ךְ מִשְׁכְּנֵיהֶ֑ם הֵ֚מָּה יֹאכְל֣וּ פִרְיֵ֔ךְ וְהֵ֖מָּה יִשְׁתּ֥וּ חֲלָבֵֽךְ׃
  
  5 וְנָתַתִּ֤י אֶת־רַבָּה֙ לִנְוֵ֣ה גְמַלִּ֔ים וְאֶת־בְּנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן לְמִרְבַּץ־צֹ֑אן וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  6 כִּ֣י כֹ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֚עַן מַחְאֲךָ֣ יָ֔ד וְרַקְעֲךָ֖ בְּרָ֑גֶל וַתִּשְׂמַ֤ח בְּכָל־שָֽׁאטְךָ֙ בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ אֶל־אַדְמַ֖ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  7 לָכֵ֡ן הִנְנִי֩ נָטִ֨יתִי אֶת־יָדִ֜י עָלֶ֗יךָ וּנְתַתִּ֤יךָֽ־*לבג **לְבַז֙ לַגּוֹיִ֔ם וְהִכְרַתִּ֙יךָ֙ מִן־הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים וְהַאֲבַדְתִּ֖יךָ מִן־הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת אַשְׁמִ֣ידְךָ֔ וְיָדַעְתָּ֖ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  8 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה יַ֗עַן אֲמֹ֤ר מוֹאָב֙ וְשֵׂעִ֔יר הִנֵּ֥ה כְּכָֽל־הַגּוֹיִ֖ם בֵּ֥ית יְהוּדָֽה׃
  
  9 לָכֵן֩ הִנְנִ֨י פֹתֵ֜חַ אֶת־כֶּ֤תֶף מוֹאָב֙ מֵהֶ֣עָרִ֔ים מֵֽעָרָ֖יו מִקָּצֵ֑הוּ צְבִ֗י אֶ֚רֶץ בֵּ֣ית הַיְשִׁימֹ֔ת בַּ֥עַל מְע֖וֹן *וקריתמה **וְקִרְיָתָֽיְמָה׃
  
  10 לִבְנֵי־קֶ֙דֶם֙ עַל־בְּנֵ֣י עַמּ֔וֹן וּנְתַתִּ֖יהָ לְמֽוֹרָשָׁ֑ה לְמַ֛עַן לֹֽא־תִזָּכֵ֥ר בְּנֵֽי־עַמּ֖וֹן בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃
  
  11 וּבְמוֹאָ֖ב אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה שְׁפָטִ֑ים וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  12 כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֣עַן עֲשׂ֥וֹת אֱד֛וֹם בִּנְקֹ֥ם נָקָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֶּאְשְׁמ֥וּ אָשׁ֖וֹם וְנִקְּמ֥וּ בָהֶֽם׃
  
  13 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וְנָטִ֤תִי יָדִי֙ עַל־אֱד֔וֹם וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נָּה אָדָ֣ם וּבְהֵמָ֑ה וּנְתַתִּ֤יהָ חָרְבָּה֙ מִתֵּימָ֔ן וּדְדָ֖נֶה בַּחֶ֥רֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ׃
  
  14 וְנָתַתִּ֨י אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֜י בֶּאֱד֗וֹם בְּיַד֙ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעָשׂ֣וּ בֶאֱד֔וֹם כְּאַפִּ֖י וְכַחֲמָתִ֑י וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֔י נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
  
  15 כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֛עַן עֲשׂ֥וֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים בִּנְקָמָ֑ה וַיִּנָּקְמ֤וּ נָקָם֙ בִּשְׁאָ֣ט בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ לְמַשְׁחִ֖ית אֵיבַ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃
  
  16 לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י נוֹטֶ֤ה יָדִי֙ עַל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י אֶת־כְּרֵתִ֑ים וְהַ֣אֲבַדְתִּ֔י אֶת־שְׁאֵרִ֖ית ח֥וֹף הַיָּֽם׃
  
  17 וְעָשִׂ֤יתִי בָם֙ נְקָמ֣וֹת גְּדֹל֔וֹת בְּתוֹכְח֖וֹת חֵמָ֑ה וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בְּתִתִּ֥י אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֖י בָּֽם׃
  
  2 Corinthiens 11
  
  1 Ὄφελον ἀνείχεσθέ μου μικρόν τι ἀφροσύνης· ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀνέχεσθέ μου.
  
  2 ζηλῶ γὰρ ὑμᾶς θεοῦ ζήλῳ, ἡρμοσάμην γὰρ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἀνδρὶ παρθένον ἁγνὴν παραστῆσαι τῷ Χριστῷ·
  
  3 φοβοῦμαι δὲ μή πως, ὡς ὁ ὄφις ἐξηπάτησεν Εὕαν ἐν τῇ πανουργίᾳ αὐτοῦ, φθαρῇ τὰ νοήματα ὑμῶν ἀπὸ τῆς ἁπλότητος καὶ τῆς ἁγνότητος τῆς εἰς τὸν Χριστόν.
  
  4 εἰ μὲν γὰρ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἄλλον Ἰησοῦν κηρύσσει ὃν οὐκ ἐκηρύξαμεν, ἢ πνεῦμα ἕτερον λαμβάνετε ὃ οὐκ ἐλάβετε, ἢ εὐαγγέλιον ἕτερον ὃ οὐκ ἐδέξασθε, καλῶς ἀνέχεσθε.
  
  5 λογίζομαι γὰρ μηδὲν ὑστερηκέναι τῶν ὑπερλίαν ἀποστόλων·
  
  6 εἰ δὲ καὶ ἰδιώτης τῷ λόγῳ, ἀλλ’ οὐ τῇ γνώσει, ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ φανερώσαντες ἐν πᾶσιν εἰς ὑμᾶς.
  
  7 Ἢ ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησα ἐμαυτὸν ταπεινῶν ἵνα ὑμεῖς ὑψωθῆτε, ὅτι δωρεὰν τὸ τοῦ θεοῦ εὐαγγέλιον εὐηγγελισάμην ὑμῖν;
  
  8 ἄλλας ἐκκλησίας ἐσύλησα λαβὼν ὀψώνιον πρὸς τὴν ὑμῶν διακονίαν,
  
  9 καὶ παρὼν πρὸς ὑμᾶς καὶ ὑστερηθεὶς οὐ κατενάρκησα οὐθενός· τὸ γὰρ ὑστέρημά μου προσανεπλήρωσαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἐλθόντες ἀπὸ Μακεδονίας· καὶ ἐν παντὶ ἀβαρῆ ἐμαυτὸν ὑμῖν ἐτήρησα καὶ τηρήσω.
  
  10 ἔστιν ἀλήθεια Χριστοῦ ἐν ἐμοὶ ὅτι ἡ καύχησις αὕτη οὐ φραγήσεται εἰς ἐμὲ ἐν τοῖς κλίμασι τῆς Ἀχαΐας.
  
  11 διὰ τί; ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαπῶ ὑμᾶς; ὁ θεὸς οἶδεν.
  
  12 Ὃ δὲ ποιῶ καὶ ποιήσω, ἵνα ἐκκόψω τὴν ἀφορμὴν τῶν θελόντων ἀφορμήν, ἵνα ἐν ᾧ καυχῶνται εὑρεθῶσιν καθὼς καὶ ἡμεῖς.
  
  13 οἱ γὰρ τοιοῦτοι ψευδαπόστολοι, ἐργάται δόλιοι, μετασχηματιζόμενοι εἰς ἀποστόλους Χριστοῦ·
  
  14 καὶ οὐ θαῦμα, αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ Σατανᾶς μετασχηματίζεται εἰς ἄγγελον φωτός·
  
  15 οὐ μέγα οὖν εἰ καὶ οἱ διάκονοι αὐτοῦ μετασχηματίζονται ὡς διάκονοι δικαιοσύνης, ὧν τὸ τέλος ἔσται κατὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτῶν.
  
  16 Πάλιν λέγω, μή τίς με δόξῃ ἄφρονα εἶναι—εἰ δὲ μή γε, κἂν ὡς ἄφρονα δέξασθέ με, ἵνα κἀγὼ μικρόν τι καυχήσωμαι·
  
  17 ὃ λαλῶ οὐ κατὰ κύριον λαλῶ, ἀλλ’ ὡς ἐν ἀφροσύνῃ, ἐν ταύτῃ τῇ ὑποστάσει τῆς καυχήσεως.
  
  18 ἐπεὶ πολλοὶ καυχῶνται κατὰ σάρκα, κἀγὼ καυχήσομαι.
  
  19 ἡδέως γὰρ ἀνέχεσθε τῶν ἀφρόνων φρόνιμοι ὄντες·
  
  20 ἀνέχεσθε γὰρ εἴ τις ὑμᾶς καταδουλοῖ, εἴ τις κατεσθίει, εἴ τις λαμβάνει, εἴ τις ἐπαίρεται, εἴ τις εἰς πρόσωπον ὑμᾶς δέρει.
  
  21 κατὰ ἀτιμίαν λέγω, ὡς ὅτι ἡμεῖς ἠσθενήκαμεν· ἐν ᾧ δ’ ἄν τις τολμᾷ, ἐν ἀφροσύνῃ λέγω, τολμῶ κἀγώ.
  
  22 Ἑβραῖοί εἰσιν; κἀγώ. Ἰσραηλῖταί εἰσιν; κἀγώ. σπέρμα Ἀβραάμ εἰσιν; κἀγώ.
  
  23 διάκονοι Χριστοῦ εἰσιν; παραφρονῶν λαλῶ, ὑπὲρ ἐγώ· ἐν κόποις περισσοτέρως, ἐν φυλακαῖς περισσοτέρως, ἐν πληγαῖς ὑπερβαλλόντως, ἐν θανάτοις πολλάκις·
  
  24 ὑπὸ Ἰουδαίων πεντάκις τεσσεράκοντα παρὰ μίαν ἔλαβον,
  
  25 τρὶς ἐραβδίσθην, ἅπαξ ἐλιθάσθην, τρὶς ἐναυάγησα, νυχθήμερον ἐν τῷ βυθῷ πεποίηκα·
  
  26 ὁδοιπορίαις πολλάκις, κινδύνοις ποταμῶν, κινδύνοις λῃστῶν, κινδύνοις ἐκ γένους, κινδύνοις ἐξ ἐθνῶν, κινδύνοις ἐν πόλει, κινδύνοις ἐν ἐρημίᾳ, κινδύνοις ἐν θαλάσσῃ, κινδύνοις ἐν ψευδαδέλφοις,
  
  27 κόπῳ καὶ μόχθῳ, ἐν ἀγρυπνίαις πολλάκις, ἐν λιμῷ καὶ δίψει, ἐν νηστείαις πολλάκις, ἐν ψύχει καὶ γυμνότητι·
  
  28 χωρὶς τῶν παρεκτὸς ἡ ἐπίστασίς μοι ἡ καθ’ ἡμέραν, ἡ μέριμνα πασῶν τῶν ἐκκλησιῶν.
  
  29 τίς ἀσθενεῖ, καὶ οὐκ ἀσθενῶ; τίς σκανδαλίζεται καὶ οὐκ ἐγὼ πυροῦμαι;
  
  30 Εἰ καυχᾶσθαι δεῖ, τὰ τῆς ἀσθενείας μου καυχήσομαι.
  
  31 ὁ θεὸς καὶ πατὴρ τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ οἶδεν, ὁ ὢν εὐλογητὸς εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας, ὅτι οὐ ψεύδομαι.
  
  32 ἐν Δαμασκῷ ὁ ἐθνάρχης Ἁρέτα τοῦ βασιλέως ἐφρούρει τὴν πόλιν Δαμασκηνῶν πιάσαι με,
  
  33 καὶ διὰ θυρίδος ἐν σαργάνῃ ἐχαλάσθην διὰ τοῦ τείχους καὶ ἐξέφυγον τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ.
