- 1 Rois 8
  
  1 Alors Salomon assembla les anciens d'Israël et tous les chefs des tribus, les princes des pères des fils d'Israël, auprès du roi Salomon à Jérusalem, pour faire monter l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel de la ville de David, qui est Sion.
  
  2 Et tous les hommes d'Israël s'assemblèrent vers le roi Salomon, à la fête, au mois d'Éthanim, qui est le septième mois.
  
  3 Et tous les anciens d'Israël vinrent, et les sacrificateurs portèrent l'arche.
  
  4 Et il firent monter l'arche de l'Éternel, et la tente d'assignation, et tous les ustensiles du lieu saint qui étaient dans la tente : les sacrificateurs et les lévites les firent monter.
  
  5 Et le roi Salomon et toute l'assemblée d'Israël, qui s'était réunie auprès de lui et qui était avec lui devant l'arche, sacrifiaient du menu et du gros bétail, qu'on ne pouvait nombrer ni compter, à cause de sa multitude.
  
  6 Et les sacrificateurs firent entrer l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel en son lieu, dans l'oracle de la maison, dans le lieu très-saint, sous les ailes des chérubins ;
  
  7 car les chérubins étendaient les ailes sur le lieu de l'arche, et les chérubins couvraient l'arche et ses barres, par dessus.
  
  8 Et les barres étaient longues, de sorte que les bouts des barres se voyaient depuis le lieu saint, sur le devant de l'oracle, mais ils ne se voyaient pas du dehors ; et elles sont là jusqu'à ce jour.
  
  9 Il n'y avait rien dans l'arche, sauf les deux tables de pierre que Moïse y plaça en Horeb, quand l'Éternel fit alliance avec les fils d'Israël, lorsqu'ils sortirent du pays d'Égypte.
  
  10 Et il arriva que, comme les sacrificateurs sortaient du lieu saint, la nuée remplit la maison de l'Éternel ;
  
  11 et les sacrificateurs ne pouvaient pas s'y tenir pour faire le service, à cause de la nuée, car la gloire de l'Éternel remplissait la maison de l'Éternel.
  
  12 Salomon dit : L'Éternel a dit qu'il habiterait dans l'obscurité profonde.
  
  13 J'ai bâti toutefois une maison d'habitation pour toi, un lieu fixe pour que tu y demeures à toujours.
  
  14 Et le roi tourna sa face, et bénit toute la congrégation d'Israël ; et toute la congrégation d'Israël était debout.
  
  15 Et il dit : Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, qui parla de sa bouche à David, mon père, et de sa main a accompli sa parole, disant :
  
  16 Depuis le jour que j'ai fait sortir d'Égypte mon peuple Israël, je n'ai choisi aucune ville d'entre toutes les tribus d'Israël pour y bâtir une maison afin que mon nom y fût ; mais j'ai choisi David pour être roi sur mon peuple Israël.
  
  17 Et David, mon père, avait à coeur de bâtir une maison pour le nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.
  
  18 Et l'Éternel dit à David, mon père : Puisque tu as eu à coeur de bâtir une maison pour mon nom, tu as bien fait de l'avoir eu à coeur ;
  
  19 toutefois, tu ne bâtiras pas la maison ; mais ton fils qui sortira de tes reins, lui, bâtira une maison pour mon nom.
  
  20 Et l'Éternel a accompli sa parole, qu'il a prononcée ; et je me suis levé à la place de David, mon père, et je suis assis sur le trône d'Israël, comme l'Éternel l'a dit ; et j'ai bâti la maison pour le nom de l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël ;
  
  21 et là j'ai établi un lieu pour l'arche, où est l'alliance de l'Éternel, qu'il fit avec nos pères quand il les fit sortir du pays d'Égypte.
  
  22 Et Salomon se tint devant l'autel de l'Éternel, en face de toute la congrégation d'Israël, et étendit ses mains vers les cieux,
  
  23 et dit : Éternel, Dieu d'Israël ! il n'y a point de Dieu comme toi, dans les cieux en haut, et sur la terre en bas, qui gardes l'alliance et la bonté envers tes serviteurs qui marchent devant toi de tout leur coeur,
  
  24 toi qui as gardé envers ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as dit : tu as parlé de ta bouche, et de ta main tu as accompli ta parole, comme il paraît aujourd'hui.
  
  25 Et maintenant, Éternel, Dieu d'Israël, garde envers ton serviteur David, mon père, ce que tu lui as dit, disant : Tu ne manqueras pas, devant ma face, d'un homme assis sur le trône d'Israël, si seulement tes fils prennent garde à leur voie, pour marcher devant moi comme tu as marché devant moi.
  
  26 Et maintenant, ô Dieu d'Israël, je te prie, que tes paroles, que tu as dites à ton serviteur David, mon père, soient fermes.
  
  27 Mais Dieu habitera-t-il vraiment sur la terre ? Voici, les cieux, et les cieux des cieux, ne peuvent te contenir : combien moins cette maison que j'ai bâtie !
  
  28 Cependant, Éternel, mon Dieu, aie égard à la prière de ton serviteur et à sa supplication, pour écouter le cri et la prière que ton serviteur t'adresse aujourd'hui,
  
  29 pour que tes yeux soient ouverts nuit et jour sur cette maison, sur le lieu dont tu as dit : Mon nom sera là, -pour écouter la prière que ton serviteur t'adressera en se tournant vers ce lieu-ci.
  
  30 Et écoute la supplication de ton serviteur et de ton peuple Israël, qu'ils t'adresseront en se tournant vers ce lieu-ci ; toi, écoute dans le lieu de ton habitation, dans les cieux ; écoute et pardonne !
  
  31 Si un homme pèche contre son prochain, et qu'on lui impose le serment pour le faire jurer, et que le serment vienne devant ton autel, dans cette maison :
  
  32 alors, toi, écoute dans les cieux, et agis, et juge tes serviteurs, en condamnant le méchant, pour faire retomber sa voie sur sa tête, et en justifiant le juste, en lui donnant selon sa justice.
  
  33 Quand ton peuple Israël sera battu devant l'ennemi, parce qu'ils auront péché contre toi, s'ils retournent vers toi, et confessent ton nom, et te prient, et t'adressent leur supplication dans cette maison :
  
  34 alors, toi, écoute dans les cieux, et pardonne le péché de ton peuple Israël ; et fais-les retourner dans la terre que tu as donnée à leurs pères.
  
  35 Quand les cieux seront fermés et qu'il n'y aura pas de pluie, parce qu'ils auront péché contre toi, s'ils prient en se tournant vers ce lieu-ci, et qu'ils confessent ton nom et reviennent de leur péché, parce que tu les auras affligés :
  
  36 alors, toi, écoute dans les cieux, et pardonne le péché de tes serviteurs et de ton peuple Israël, quand tu leur auras enseigné le bon chemin dans lequel ils doivent marcher ; et donne la pluie sur ton pays que tu as donné en héritage à ton peuple.
  
  37 S'il y a famine dans le pays, s'il y a peste, s'il y a brûlure, rouille, sauterelles, locustes, si son ennemi l'assiège dans le pays de ses portes, quelque plaie, quelque maladie qu'il y ait,
  
  38 quelle que soit la prière, quelle que soit la supplication que fera un homme quelconque de tout ton peuple Israël ; quand ils reconnaîtront chacun la plaie de son propre coeur et qu'ils étendront leurs mains vers cette maison :
  
  39 alors, toi, écoute dans les cieux, le lieu de ton habitation, et pardonne, et agis, et donne à chacun selon toutes ses voies, suivant que tu connais son coeur (car tu connais, toi seul, le coeur de tous les fils des hommes),
  
  40 afin qu'ils te craignent tous les jours qu'ils vivront sur la face de la terre que tu as donnée à nos pères.
  
  41 Et quant à l'étranger aussi, qui ne sera pas de ton peuple Israël, mais qui viendra d'un pays lointain à cause de ton nom
  
  42 (car ils entendront parler de ton grand nom, et de ta main forte, et de ton bras étendu), s'il vient et présente sa prière en se tournant vers cette maison :
  
  43 toi, écoute dans les cieux, le lieu de ton habitation, et agis selon tout ce que l'étranger réclamera de toi ; afin que tous les peuples de la terre connaissent ton nom, et te craignent, comme ton peuple Israël, et qu'ils sachent que cette maison que j'ai bâtie est appelée de ton nom.
  
  44 Lorsque ton peuple sortira pour la guerre contre son ennemi, par le chemin par lequel tu l'auras envoyé, et qu'ils prieront l'Éternel, en se tournant vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie pour ton nom :
  
  45 alors, écoute dans les cieux leur prière et leur supplication, et fais-leur droit.
  
  46 S'ils ont péché contre toi (car il n'y a point d'homme qui ne pèche), et que tu te sois irrité contre eux, et que tu les aies livrés à l'ennemi, et qu'ils les aient emmenés captifs dans le pays de l'ennemi, loin ou près,
  
  47 et que, dans le pays où ils auront été emmenés captifs, ils rentrent en eux-mêmes, et reviennent à toi et te supplient, dans le pays de ceux qui les auront emmenés captifs, disant : Nous avons péché, et nous avons commis l'iniquité, nous avons agi méchamment ;
  
  48 et s'ils reviennent à toi de tout leur coeur et de toute leur âme, dans le pays de leurs ennemis qui les ont emmenés captifs, et qu'ils te prient en se tournant vers leur pays, que tu as donné à leurs pères, vers la ville que tu as choisie et vers la maison que j'ai bâtie pour ton nom :
  
  49 alors, écoute dans les cieux, le lieu de ton habitation, leur prière et leur supplication, et fais-leur droit,
  
  50 et pardonne à ton peuple ce en quoi ils ont péché contre toi, et toutes leurs transgressions qu'ils ont commises contre toi, et donne-leur de trouver compassion auprès de ceux qui les ont emmenés captifs, en sorte que ceux-ci aient compassion d'eux ;
  
  51 car ils sont ton peuple et ton héritage, que tu as fait sortir d'Égypte, du milieu de la fournaise de fer,
  
  52 -tes yeux étant ouverts à la supplication de ton serviteur et à la supplication de ton peuple Israël, pour les entendre dans tout ce pour quoi ils crieront à toi ;
  
  53 car tu les as mis à part en les séparant de tous les peuples de la terre pour être ton héritage, selon ce que tu as dit par ton serviteur Moïse, quand tu fis sortir d'Égypte nos pères, ô Seigneur Éternel !
  
  54 Et il arriva que, quand Salomon eut achevé d'adresser à l'Éternel toute cette prière et cette supplication, il se leva de devant l'autel de l'Éternel, où il était à genoux, ses mains étendues vers les cieux ;
  
  55 et il se tint debout et bénit à haute voix toute la congrégation d'Israël, disant :
  
  56 Béni soit l'Éternel, qui a donné du repos à son peuple Israël, selon tout ce qu'il avait dit ! Pas un mot de toute sa bonne parole qu'il prononça par Moïse, son serviteur, n'est tombé à terre.
  
  57 Que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, soit avec nous comme il a été avec nos pères, (qu'il ne nous abandonne pas et ne nous délaisse pas)
  
  58 pour incliner nos coeurs vers lui, pour que nous marchions dans toutes ses voies et que nous gardions ses commandements et ses statuts et ses ordonnances, qu'il a commandés à nos pères.
  
  59 Et que ces miennes paroles, par lesquelles j'ai fait ma supplication devant l'Éternel, soient présentes à l'Éternel, notre Dieu, jour et nuit, pour qu'il fasse droit à son peuple Israël, chaque jour selon que le cas le demande ;
  
  60 afin que tous les peuples de la terre sachent que l'Éternel, lui, est Dieu, qu'il n'y en a pas d'autre.
  
  61 Et que votre coeur soit parfait avec l'Éternel, notre Dieu, pour marcher dans ses statuts et pour garder ses commandements, comme il en est aujourd'hui.
  
  62 Et le roi et tout Israël avec lui sacrifièrent des sacrifices devant l'Éternel.
  
  63 Et Salomon offrit, pour le sacrifice de prospérités qu'il offrit à l'Éternel, vingt-deux mille boeufs, et cent vingt mille moutons. Et le roi et tous les fils d'Israël firent la dédicace de la maison de l'Éternel.
  
  64 En ce jour-là le roi sanctifia le milieu du parvis qui était devant la maison de l'Éternel ; car il offrit là l'holocauste, et l'offrande de gâteau, et la graisse des sacrifices de prospérités, parce que l'autel d'airain qui était devant l'Éternel était trop petit pour recevoir l'holocauste, et l'offrande de gâteau, et la graisse des sacrifices de prospérités.
  
  65 Et en ce temps-là, Salomon et tout Israël avec lui, une grande congrégation, depuis l'entrée de Hamath jusqu'au torrent d'Égypte, célébrèrent la fête devant l'Éternel, notre Dieu, sept jours, et sept jours : quatorze jours.
  
  66 Le huitième jour, il renvoya le peuple ; et ils bénirent le roi, et s'en allèrent à leurs tentes, joyeux et le coeur heureux à cause de tout le bien que l'Éternel avait fait à David, son serviteur, et à Israël, son peuple.
  
  Ezéchiel 38
  
  1 Et la parole de l'Éternel vint à moi, disant :
  
  2 Fils d'homme, tourne ta face vers Gog, le pays de Magog, le prince de Rosh, de Méschec et de Tubal, et prophétise contre lui, et dis :
  
  3 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Voici, j'en veux à toi, Gog, prince de Rosh, de Méshec et de Tubal !
  
  4 et je te ferai retourner, et je mettrai un anneau dans tes mâchoires, et je te ferai sortir, toi et toute ton armée, chevaux et cavaliers, tous parfaitement équipés, un grand rassemblement, avec le bouclier et l'écu, tous portant l'épée ;
  
  5 avec eux la Perse, Cush, et Puth, ayant tous des boucliers et des casques ; Gomer et toutes ses bandes ;
  
  6 la maison de Togarma, du fond du nord, et toutes ses bandes, -beaucoup de peuples avec toi.
  
  7 Prépare-toi, et tiens-toi prêt, toi et tout ton rassemblement qui est assemblé auprès de toi, et sois leur chef.
  
  8 Après beaucoup de jours tu seras visité : à la fin des années tu viendras dans le pays délivré de l'épée et rassemblé d'entre beaucoup de peuples, sur les montagnes d'Israël qui ont été une désolation perpétuelle, vers ceux qui sont sortis d'entre les peuples et qui habitent tous en sécurité.
  
  9 Et tu monteras, tu viendras comme une tempête, tu seras comme une nuée pour couvrir le pays, toi et toutes tes bandes, et beaucoup de peuples avec toi.
  
  10 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : Il arrivera en ce jour-là, que des choses monteront dans ton coeur et que tu concevras une mauvaise pensée ;
  
  11 et tu diras : Je monterai dans un pays de villes ouvertes, je viendrai vers ceux qui sont tranquilles, qui habitent en sécurité, qui tous habitent là où il n'y a pas de murailles et chez qui il n'y a ni barres ni portes,
  
  12 pour emporter un butin et faire un pillage, pour tourner ta main sur des lieux désolés de nouveau habités, et sur un peuple rassemblé d'entre les nations, qui a acquis du bétail et des biens, et habite le centre du pays.
  
  13 Sheba et Dedan, et les marchands de Tarsis, et tous ses lionceaux, te diront : Est-ce pour emporter un butin que tu es venu ? est-ce pour faire le pillage que tu as assemblé ton rassemblement de peuples, pour enlever de l'argent et de l'or, pour prendre le bétail et les biens, pour emporter un grand butin ?
  
  14 C'est pourquoi, fils d'homme, prophétise, et dis à Gog : Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : En ce jour-là, quand mon peuple Israël habitera en sécurité, ne le sauras-tu pas ?
  
  15 Et tu viendras de ton lieu, du fond du nord, toi et beaucoup de peuples avec toi, tous montés sur des chevaux, un grand rassemblement et une nombreuse armée ;
  
  16 et tu monteras contre mon peuple Israël comme une nuée, pour couvrir le pays. Ce sera à la fin des jours ; et je te ferai venir sur mon pays, afin que les nations me connaissent, quand je serai sanctifié en toi, ô Gog ! devant leurs yeux.
  
  17 Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel : N'es-tu pas celui dont je t'ai parlé dans les jours d'autrefois, par mes serviteurs les prophètes d'Israël, qui, en ces jours-là, pendant des années, ont prophétisé que je te ferais venir contre eux ?
  
  18 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, au jour où Gog viendra contre la terre d'Israël, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, que ma fureur me montera au visage ;
  
  19 -et je parle dans ma jalousie, dans le feu de mon courroux : Oui, en ce jour-là, il y aura une grande commotion sur la terre d'Israël ;
  
  20 et les poissons de la mer, et les oiseaux des cieux, et les bêtes des champs, trembleront devant moi, et tout ce qui rampe sur la terre, et tout homme qui est sur la face de la terre ; et les montagnes seront renversées, et les hauts rochers s'écrouleront, et toutes les murailles tomberont par terre.
  
  21 Et j'appellerai contre lui l'épée sur toutes mes montagnes, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel ; l'épée de chacun sera contre son frère.
  
  22 Et j'entrerai en jugement avec lui par la peste et par le sang ; et je ferai pleuvoir une pluie torrentielle, et des pierres de grêle, du feu et du soufre, sur lui et sur ses bandes, et sur les peuples nombreux qui seront avec lui.
  
  23 Et je me glorifierai et je me sanctifierai, et je serai connu aux yeux de beaucoup de nations ; et elles sauront que je suis l'Éternel.
  
  Ephésiens 5
  
  1 Soyez donc imitateurs de Dieu comme de bien-aimés enfants,
  
  2 et marchez dans l'amour, comme aussi le Christ nous a aimés et s'est livré lui-même pour nous comme offrande et sacrifice à Dieu, en parfum de bonne odeur.
  
  3 Mais que ni la fornication, ni aucune impureté ou cupidité, ne soient même nommées parmi vous, comme il convient à des saints ;
  
  4 ni aucune chose honteuse, ni parole folle ou plaisanterie, lesquelles ne sont pas bienséantes, mais plutôt des actions de grâces.
  
  5 Cela en effet vous le savez, connaissant qu'aucun fornicateur, ou impur, ou cupide (qui est un idolâtre), n'a d'héritage dans le royaume du Christ et de Dieu.
  
  6 Que personne ne vous séduise par de vaines paroles ; car, à cause de ces choses, la colère de Dieu vient sur les fils de la désobéissance.
  
  7 N'ayez donc pas de participation avec eux ;
  
  8 car vous étiez autrefois ténèbres, mais maintenant vous êtes lumière dans le Seigneur ; marchez comme des enfants de lumière
  
  9 (car le fruit de la lumière consiste en toute bonté, et justice, et vérité),
  
  10 éprouvant ce qui est agréable au Seigneur.
  
  11 Et n'ayez rien de commun avec les oeuvres infructueuses des ténèbres, mais plutôt reprenez-les aussi ;
  
  12 car les choses qu'ils font en secret, il est honteux même de les dire.
  
  13 Mais toutes choses, étant reprises par la lumière, sont manifestées ; car ce qui manifeste tout, c'est la lumière ;
  
  14 c'est pourquoi il dit : "Réveille-toi, toi qui dors, et relève-toi d'entre les morts, et le Christ luira sur toi".
  
  15 Prenez donc garde à marcher soigneusement, non pas comme étant dépourvus de sagesse, mais comme étant sages ;
  
  16 saisissant l'occasion, parce que les jours sont mauvais.
  
  17 C'est pourquoi ne soyez pas sans intelligence, mais comprenez quelle est la volonté du Seigneur.
  
  18 Et ne vous enivrez pas de vin, en quoi il y a de la dissolution ; mais soyez remplis de l'Esprit,
  
  19 vous entretenant par des psaumes et des hymnes et des cantiques spirituels, chantant et psalmodiant de votre coeur au Seigneur ;
  
  20 rendant toujours grâces pour toutes choses, au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ, à Dieu le Père ;
  
  21 étant soumis les uns aux autres dans la crainte de Christ.
  
  22 Femmes, soyez soumises à vos propres maris comme au Seigneur ;
  
  23 parce que le mari est le chef de la femme, comme aussi le Christ est le chef de l'assemblée, lui, le sauveur du corps.
  
  24 Mais comme l'assemblée est soumise au Christ, ainsi que les femmes le soient aussi à leurs maris en toutes choses.
  
  25 Maris, aimez vos propres femmes, comme aussi le Christ a aimé l'assemblée et s'est livré lui-même pour elle,
  
  26 afin qu'il la sanctifiât, en la purifiant par le lavage d'eau par la parole ;
  
  27 afin que lui se présentât l'assemblée à lui-même, glorieuse, n'ayant ni tache, ni ride, ni rien de semblable, mais afin qu'elle fût sainte et irréprochable.
  
  28 De même aussi, les maris doivent aimer leurs propres femmes comme leurs propres corps ; celui qui aime sa propre femme s'aime lui-même.
  
  29 Car personne n'a jamais haï sa propre chair, mais il la nourrit et la chérit, comme aussi le Christ l'assemblée :
  
  30 car nous sommes membres de son corps, -de sa chair et de ses os.
  
  31 "C'est pour cela que l'homme laissera son père et sa mère et sera joint à sa femme ; et les deux seront une seule chair".
  
  32 Ce mystère est grand ; mais moi je parle relativement à Christ et à l'assemblée.
  
  33 Toutefois, que chacun de vous aussi en particulier aime sa propre femme comme lui-même ; et quant à la femme, qu'elle craigne son mari.

  1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' households of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh out of the city of David, which is Zion.
  
  2 All the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
  
  3 All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
  
  4 They brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these the priests and the Levites brought up.
  
  5 King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, who were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle, that could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.
  
  6 The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.
  
  7 For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.
  
  8 The poles were so long that the ends of the poles were seen from the holy place before the oracle; but they were not seen outside: and there they are to this day.
  
  9 There was nothing in the ark except the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
  
  10 It came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Yahweh,
  
  11 so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh.
  
  12 Then Solomon said, "Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
  
  13 I have surely built you a house of habitation, a place for you to dwell in forever."
  
  14 The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Israel: and all the assembly of Israel stood.
  
  15 He said, "Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David your father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
  
  16 'Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.'
  
  17 "Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
  
  18 But Yahweh said to David my father, 'Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
  
  19 Nevertheless, you shall not build the house; but your son who shall come forth out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.'
  
  20 Yahweh has established his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
  
  21 There I have set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of Yahweh, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt."
  
  22 Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;
  
  23 and he said, "Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants, who walk before you with all their heart;
  
  24 who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.
  
  25 Now therefore, may Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, 'There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.'
  
  26 "Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.
  
  27 But will God in very deed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can't contain you; how much less this house that I have built!
  
  28 Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you this day;
  
  29 that your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, 'My name shall be there;' to listen to the prayer which your servant shall pray toward this place.
  
  30 Listen to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place. Yes, hear in heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.
  
  31 "If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swear before your altar in this house;
  
  32 then hear in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his own head, and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
  
  33 "When your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you; if they turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray and make supplication to you in this house:
  
  34 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.
  
  35 "When the sky is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:
  
  36 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.
  
  37 "If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight, mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there is;
  
  38 whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
  
  39 then hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men;)
  
  40 that they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.
  
  41 "Moreover concerning the foreigner, who is not of your people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for your name's sake
  
  42 (for they shall hear of your great name, and of your mighty hand, and of your outstretched arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house;
  
  43 hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and do according to all that the foreigner calls to you for; that all the peoples of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by your name.
  
  44 "If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to Yahweh toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;
  
  45 then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.
  
  46 If they sin against you (for there is no man who doesn't sin), and you are angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive to the land of the enemy, far off or near;
  
  47 yet if they shall repent in the land where they are carried captive, and turn again, and make supplication to you in the land of those who carried them captive, saying, 'We have sinned, and have done perversely; we have dealt wickedly;'
  
  48 if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:
  
  49 then hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, your dwelling place, and maintain their cause;
  
  50 and forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against you; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them
  
  51 (for they are your people, and your inheritance, which you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron);
  
  52 that your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.
  
  53 For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh."
  
  54 It was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.
  
  55 He stood, and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying,
  
  56 "Blessed be Yahweh, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.
  
  57 May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers. Let him not leave us, nor forsake us;
  
  58 that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.
  
  59 Let these my words, with which I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near to Yahweh our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as every day shall require;
  
  60 that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God. There is none else.
  
  61 "Let your heart therefore be perfect with Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day."
  
  62 The king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before Yahweh.
  
  63 Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to Yahweh, two and twenty thousand head of cattle, and one hundred twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.
  
  64 The same day the king made the middle of the court holy that was before the house of Yahweh; for there he offered the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too little to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat of the peace offerings.
  
  65 So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.
  
  66 On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David his servant, and to Israel his people.
  
  Ezéchiel 38
  
  1 The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
  
  2 Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
  
  3 and say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal:
  
  4 and I will turn you around, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords;
  
  5 Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet;
  
  6 Gomer, and all his hordes; the house of Togarmah in the uttermost parts of the north, and all his hordes; even many peoples with you.
  
  7 Be prepared, yes, prepare yourself, you, and all your companies who are assembled to you, and be a guard to them.
  
  8 After many days you shall be visited: in the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought forth out of the peoples, and they shall dwell securely, all of them.
  
  9 You shall ascend, you shall come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.
  
  10 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: It shall happen in that day, that things shall come into your mind, and you shall devise an evil device:
  
  11 and you shall say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to those who are at rest, who dwell securely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates;
  
  12 to take the spoil and to take the prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are [now] inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.
  
  13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions of it, shall tell you, Have you come to take the spoil? have you assembled your company to take the prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great spoil?
  
  14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy, and tell Gog, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In that day when my people Israel dwells securely, shall you not know it?
  
  15 You shall come from your place out of the uttermost parts of the north, you, and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army;
  
  16 and you shall come up against my people Israel, as a cloud to cover the land: it shall happen in the latter days, that I will bring you against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be sanctified in you, Gog, before their eyes.
  
  17 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Are you he of whom I spoke in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied in those days for [many] years that I would bring you against them?
  
  18 It shall happen in that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh, that my wrath shall come up into my nostrils.
  
  19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
  
  20 so that the fish of the sea, and the birds of the sky, and the animals of the field, and all creeping things who creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the surface of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
  
  21 I will call for a sword against him to all my mountains, says the Lord Yahweh: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
  
  22 With pestilence and with blood will I enter into judgment with him; and I will rain on him, and on his hordes, and on the many peoples who are with him, an overflowing shower, and great hailstones, fire, and sulfur.
  
  23 I will magnify myself, and sanctify myself, and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

  1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.
  
  2 Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
  
  3 But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
  
  4 nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not appropriate; but rather giving of thanks.
  
  5 Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God.
  
  6 Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.
  
  7 Therefore don't be partakers with them.
  
  8 For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
  
  9 for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
  
  10 proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
  
  11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them.
  
  12 For the things which are done by them in secret, it is a shame even to speak of.
  
  13 But all things, when they are reproved, are revealed by the light, for everything that reveals is light.
  
  14 Therefore he says, "Awake, you who sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
  
  15 Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise;
  
  16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
  
  17 Therefore don't be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
  
  18 Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
  
  19 speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs; singing, and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
  
  20 giving thanks always concerning all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father;
  
  21 subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.
  
  22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
  
  23 For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.
  
  24 But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
  
  25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;
  
  26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,
  
  27 that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
  
  28 Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.
  
  29 For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly;
  
  30 because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones.
  
  31 "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh."
  
  32 This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly.
  
  33 Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

  27 כִּ֚י הַֽאֻמְנָ֔ם יֵשֵׁ֥ב אֱלֹהִ֖ים עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ הִ֠נֵּה הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם וּשְׁמֵ֤י הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ לֹ֣א יְכַלְכְּל֔וּךָ אַ֕ף כִּֽי־הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנִֽיתִי׃
  
  28 וּפָנִ֜יתָ אֶל־תְּפִלַּ֧ת עַבְדְּךָ֛ וְאֶל־תְּחִנָּת֖וֹ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהָ֑י לִשְׁמֹ֤עַ אֶל־הָֽרִנָּה֙ וְאֶל־הַתְּפִלָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר עַבְדְּךָ֛ מִתְפַּלֵּ֥ל לְפָנֶ֖יךָ הַיּֽוֹם׃
  
  29 לִהְיוֹת֩ עֵינֶ֨ךָ פְתֻח֜וֹת אֶל־הַבַּ֤יִת הַזֶּה֙ לַ֣יְלָה וָי֔וֹם אֶל־הַ֨מָּק֔וֹם אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָמַ֔רְתָּ יִהְיֶ֥ה שְׁמִ֖י שָׁ֑ם לִשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ אֶל־הַתְּפִלָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִתְפַּלֵּ֣ל עַבְדְּךָ֔ אֶל־הַמָּק֖וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  30 וְשָׁ֨מַעְתָּ֜ אֶל־תְּחִנַּ֤ת עַבְדְּךָ֙ וְעַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִֽתְפַּֽלְל֖וּ אֶל־הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וְ֠אַתָּה תִּשְׁמַ֞ע אֶל־מְק֤וֹם שִׁבְתְּךָ֙ אֶל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֖ וְסָלָֽחְתָּ׃
  
  31 אֵת֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יֶחֱטָ֥א אִישׁ֙ לְרֵעֵ֔הוּ וְנָֽשָׁא־ב֥וֹ אָלָ֖ה לְהַֽאֲלֹת֑וֹ וּבָ֗א אָלָ֛ה לִפְנֵ֥י מִֽזְבַּחֲךָ֖ בַּבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  32 וְאַתָּ֣ה ׀ תִּשְׁמַ֣ע הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם וְעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ וְשָׁפַטְתָּ֣ אֶת־עֲבָדֶ֔יךָ לְהַרְשִׁ֣יעַ רָשָׁ֔ע לָתֵ֥ת דַּרְכּ֖וֹ בְּרֹאשׁ֑וֹ וּלְהַצְדִּ֣יק צַדִּ֔יק לָ֥תֶת ל֖וֹ כְּצִדְקָתֽוֹ׃
  
  33 בְּֽהִנָּגֵ֞ף עַמְּךָ֧ יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לִפְנֵ֥י אוֹיֵ֖ב אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֶחֶטְאוּ־לָ֑ךְ וְשָׁ֤בוּ אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ וְהוֹד֣וּ אֶת־שְׁמֶ֔ךָ וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֧וּ וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֛וּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ בַּבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  34 וְאַתָּה֙ תִּשְׁמַ֣ע הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְסָ֣לַחְתָּ֔ לְחַטַּ֖את עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַהֲשֵֽׁבֹתָם֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תָּ לַאֲבוֹתָֽם׃
  
  35 בְּהֵעָצֵ֥ר שָׁמַ֛יִם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶ֥ה מָטָ֖ר כִּ֣י יֶחֶטְאוּ־לָ֑ךְ וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֞וּ אֶל־הַמָּק֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ וְהוֹד֣וּ אֶת־שְׁמֶ֔ךָ וּמֵחַטָּאתָ֥ם יְשׁוּב֖וּן כִּ֥י תַעֲנֵֽם׃
  
  36 וְאַתָּ֣ה ׀ תִּשְׁמַ֣ע הַשָּׁמַ֗יִם וְסָ֨לַחְתָּ֜ לְחַטַּ֤את עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ וְעַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֥י תוֹרֵ֛ם אֶת־הַדֶּ֥רֶךְ הַטּוֹבָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽלְכוּ־בָ֑הּ וְנָתַתָּ֤ה מָטָר֙ עַל־אַרְצְךָ֔ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥תָּה לְעַמְּךָ֖ לְנַחֲלָֽה׃
  
  37 רָעָ֞ב כִּֽי־יִהְיֶ֣ה בָאָ֗רֶץ דֶּ֣בֶר כִּֽי־יִ֠הְיֶה שִׁדָּפ֨וֹן יֵרָק֜וֹן אַרְבֶּ֤ה חָסִיל֙ כִּ֣י יִהְיֶ֔ה כִּ֧י יָֽצַר־ל֛וֹ אֹיְב֖וֹ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ שְׁעָרָ֑יו כָּל־נֶ֖גַע כָּֽל־מַחֲלָֽה׃
  
  38 כָּל־תְּפִלָּ֣ה כָל־תְּחִנָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר תִֽהְיֶה֙ לְכָל־הָ֣אָדָ֔ם לְכֹ֖ל עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵדְע֗וּן אִ֚ישׁ נֶ֣גַע לְבָב֔וֹ וּפָרַ֥שׂ כַּפָּ֖יו אֶל־הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  39 וְ֠אַתָּה תִּשְׁמַ֨ע הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם מְכ֤וֹן שִׁבְתֶּ֙ךָ֙ וְסָלַחְתָּ֣ וְעָשִׂ֔יתָ וְנָתַתָּ֤ לָאִישׁ֙ כְּכָל־דְּרָכָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּדַ֖ע אֶת־לְבָב֑וֹ כִּֽי־אַתָּ֤ה יָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ לְבַדְּךָ֔ אֶת־לְבַ֖ב כָּל־בְּנֵ֥י הָאָדָֽם׃
  
  40 לְמַ֙עַן֙ יִֽרָא֔וּךָ כָּל־הַ֨יָּמִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר־הֵ֥ם חַיִּ֖ים עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָתַ֖תָּה לַאֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃
  
  41 וְגַם֙ אֶל־הַנָּכְרִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא־מֵעַמְּךָ֥ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל ה֑וּא וּבָ֛א מֵאֶ֥רֶץ רְחוֹקָ֖ה לְמַ֥עַן שְׁמֶֽךָ׃
  
  42 כִּ֤י יִשְׁמְעוּן֙ אֶת־שִׁמְךָ֣ הַגָּד֔וֹל וְאֶת־יָֽדְךָ֙ הַֽחֲזָקָ֔ה וּֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖ הַנְּטוּיָ֑ה וּבָ֥א וְהִתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  43 אַתָּ֞ה תִּשְׁמַ֤ע הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ מְכ֣וֹן שִׁבְתֶּ֔ךָ וְעָשִׂ֕יתָ כְּכֹ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָ֥א אֵלֶ֖יךָ הַנָּכְרִ֑י לְמַ֣עַן יֵדְעוּן֩ כָּל־עַמֵּ֨י הָאָ֜רֶץ אֶת־שְׁמֶ֗ךָ לְיִרְאָ֤ה אֹֽתְךָ֙ כְּעַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְלָדַ֕עַת כִּי־שִׁמְךָ֣ נִקְרָ֔א עַל־הַבַּ֥יִת הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנִֽיתִי׃
  
  44 כִּי־יֵצֵ֨א עַמְּךָ֤ לַמִּלְחָמָה֙ עַל־אֹ֣יְב֔וֹ בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּשְׁלָחֵ֑ם וְהִתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ אֶל־יְהוָ֗ה דֶּ֤רֶךְ הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֣רְתָּ בָּ֔הּ וְהַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁר־בָּנִ֥תִי לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃
  
  45 וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֙ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם אֶת־תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם וְאֶת־תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃
  
  46 כִּ֣י יֶֽחֶטְאוּ־לָ֗ךְ כִּ֣י אֵ֤ין אָדָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־יֶחֱטָ֔א וְאָנַפְתָּ֣ בָ֔ם וּנְתַתָּ֖ם לִפְנֵ֣י אוֹיֵ֑ב וְשָׁב֤וּם שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ הָאוֹיֵ֔ב רְחוֹקָ֖ה א֥וֹ קְרוֹבָֽה׃
  
  47 וְהֵשִׁ֙יבוּ֙ אֶל־לִבָּ֔ם בָּאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִשְׁבּוּ־שָׁ֑ם וְשָׁ֣בוּ ׀ וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ בְּאֶ֤רֶץ שֹֽׁבֵיהֶם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חָטָ֥אנוּ וְהֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ רָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃
  
  48 וְשָׁ֣בוּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ בְּכָל־לְבָבָם֙ וּבְכָל־נַפְשָׁ֔ם בְּאֶ֥רֶץ אֹיְבֵיהֶ֖ם אֲשֶׁר־שָׁב֣וּ אֹתָ֑ם וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֣וּ אֵלֶ֗יךָ דֶּ֤רֶךְ אַרְצָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תָּה לַאֲבוֹתָ֔ם הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּחַ֔רְתָּ וְהַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁר־*בנית **בָּנִ֥יתִי לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃
  
  49 וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֤ הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙ מְכ֣וֹן שִׁבְתְּךָ֔ אֶת־תְּפִלָּתָ֖ם וְאֶת־תְּחִנָּתָ֑ם וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ מִשְׁפָּטָֽם׃
  
  50 וְסָלַחְתָּ֤ לְעַמְּךָ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר חָֽטְאוּ־לָ֔ךְ וּלְכָל־פִּשְׁעֵיהֶ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּשְׁעוּ־בָ֑ךְ וּנְתַתָּ֧ם לְרַחֲמִ֛ים לִפְנֵ֥י שֹׁבֵיהֶ֖ם וְרִֽחֲמֽוּם׃
  
  51 כִּֽי־עַמְּךָ֥ וְנַחֲלָתְךָ֖ הֵ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֤ר הוֹצֵ֙אתָ֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם מִתּ֖וֹךְ כּ֥וּר הַבַּרְזֶֽל׃
  
  52 לִהְי֨וֹת עֵינֶ֤יךָ פְתֻחוֹת֙ אֶל־תְּחִנַּ֣ת עַבְדְּךָ֔ וְאֶל־תְּחִנַּ֖ת עַמְּךָ֣ יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם בְּכֹ֖ל קָרְאָ֥ם אֵלֶֽיךָ׃
  
  53 כִּֽי־אַתָּ֞ה הִבְדַּלְתָּ֤ם לְךָ֙ לְֽנַחֲלָ֔ה מִכֹּ֖ל עַמֵּ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבַּ֜רְתָּ בְּיַ֣ד ׀ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדֶּ֗ךָ בְּהוֹצִיאֲךָ֧ אֶת־אֲבֹתֵ֛ינוּ מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃
  
  54 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ כְּכַלּ֣וֹת שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה לְהִתְפַּלֵּל֙ אֶל־יְהוָ֔ה אֵ֛ת כָּל־הַתְּפִלָּ֥ה וְהַתְּחִנָּ֖ה הַזֹּ֑את קָ֞ם מִלִּפְנֵ֨י מִזְבַּ֤ח יְהוָה֙ מִכְּרֹ֣עַ עַל־בִּרְכָּ֔יו וְכַפָּ֖יו פְּרֻשׂ֥וֹת הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
  
  55 וַֽיַּעְמֹ֕ד וַיְבָ֕רֶךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל ק֥וֹל גָּד֖וֹל לֵאמֹֽר׃
  
  56 בָּר֣וּךְ יְהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֤ן מְנוּחָה֙ לְעַמּ֣וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֵּ֑ר לֹֽא־נָפַ֞ל דָּבָ֣ר אֶחָ֗ד מִכֹּל֙ דְּבָר֣וֹ הַטּ֔וֹב אֲשֶׁ֣ר דִּבֶּ֔ר בְּיַ֖ד מֹשֶׁ֥ה עַבְדּֽוֹ׃
  
  57 יְהִ֨י יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ עִמָּ֔נוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ אַל־יַעַזְבֵ֖נוּ וְאַֽל־יִטְּשֵֽׁנוּ׃
  
  58 לְהַטּ֥וֹת לְבָבֵ֖נוּ אֵלָ֑יו לָלֶ֣כֶת בְּכָל־דְּרָכָ֗יו וְלִשְׁמֹ֨ר מִצְוֺתָ֤יו וְחֻקָּיו֙ וּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖ה אֶת־אֲבֹתֵֽינוּ׃
  
  59 וְיִֽהְי֨וּ דְבָרַ֜י אֵ֗לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִתְחַנַּ֙נְתִּי֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה קְרֹבִ֛ים אֶל־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יוֹמָ֣ם וָלָ֑יְלָה לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת ׀ מִשְׁפַּ֣ט עַבְדּ֗וֹ וּמִשְׁפַּ֛ט עַמּ֥וֹ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל דְּבַר־י֥וֹם בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃
  
  60 לְמַ֗עַן דַּ֚עַת כָּל־עַמֵּ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֥י יְהוָ֖ה ה֣וּא הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים אֵ֖ין עֽוֹד׃
  
  61 וְהָיָ֤ה לְבַבְכֶם֙ שָׁלֵ֔ם עִ֖ם יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ לָלֶ֧כֶת בְּחֻקָּ֛יו וְלִשְׁמֹ֥ר מִצְוֺתָ֖יו כַּיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃
  
  62 וְֽהַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עִמּ֑וֹ זֹבְחִ֥ים זֶ֖בַח לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  63 וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֵ֣ת זֶ֣בַח הַשְּׁלָמִים֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר זָבַ֣ח לַיהוָה֒ בָּקָ֗ר עֶשְׂרִ֤ים וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙ אֶ֔לֶף וְצֹ֕אן מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וַֽיַּחְנְכוּ֙ אֶת־בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ וְכָל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  64 בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא קִדַּ֨שׁ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־תּ֣וֹךְ הֶחָצֵ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֙ לִפְנֵ֣י בֵית־יְהוָ֔ה כִּי־עָ֣שָׂה שָׁ֗ם אֶת־הָֽעֹלָה֙ וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת חֶלְבֵ֣י הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים כִּֽי־מִזְבַּ֤ח הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה קָטֹ֗ן מֵֽהָכִיל֙ אֶת־הָעֹלָ֣ה וְאֶת־הַמִּנְחָ֔ה וְאֵ֖ת חֶלְבֵ֥י הַשְּׁלָמִֽים׃
  
  65 וַיַּ֣עַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹ֣ה בָֽעֵת־הַהִ֣יא ׀ אֶת־הֶחָ֡ג וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל עִמּוֹ֩ קָהָ֨ל גָּד֜וֹל מִלְּב֥וֹא חֲמָ֣ת ׀ עַד־נַ֣חַל מִצְרַ֗יִם לִפְנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים וְשִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֑ים אַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר יֽוֹם׃
  
  66 בַּיּ֤וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ שִׁלַּ֣ח אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַֽיְבָרֲכ֖וּ אֶת־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַיֵּלְכ֣וּ לְאָהֳלֵיהֶ֗ם שְׂמֵחִים֙ וְט֣וֹבֵי לֵ֔ב עַ֣ל כָּל־הַטּוֹבָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לְדָוִ֣ד עַבְדּ֔וֹ וּלְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַמּֽוֹ׃

  1 וַיְהִ֥י דְבַר־יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥י לֵאמֹֽר׃
  
  2 בֶּן־אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֙יךָ֙ אֶל־גּוֹג֙ אֶ֣רֶץ הַמָּג֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָ֑ל וְהִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽיו׃
  
  3 וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הִנְנִ֤י אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְתֻבָֽל׃
  
  4 וְשׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔יךָ וְנָתַתִּ֥י חַחִ֖ים בִּלְחָיֶ֑יךָ וְהוֹצֵאתִי֩ אוֹתְךָ֨ וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילֶ֜ךָ סוּסִ֣ים וּפָרָשִׁ֗ים לְבֻשֵׁ֤י מִכְלוֹל֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל רָב֙ צִנָּ֣ה וּמָגֵ֔ן תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת כֻּלָּֽם׃
  
  5 פָּרַ֛ס כּ֥וּשׁ וּפ֖וּט אִתָּ֑ם כֻּלָּ֖ם מָגֵ֥ן וְכוֹבָֽע׃
  
  6 גֹּ֚מֶר וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יהָ בֵּ֚ית תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה יַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפ֖וֹן וְאֶת־כָּל־אֲגַפָּ֑יו עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּֽךְ׃
  
  7 הִכֹּן֙ וְהָכֵ֣ן לְךָ֔ אַתָּ֕ה וְכָל־קְהָלֶ֖ךָ הַנִּקְהָלִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיִ֥יתָ לָהֶ֖ם לְמִשְׁמָֽר׃
  
  8 מִיָּמִ֣ים רַבִּים֮ תִּפָּקֵד֒ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַשָּׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא ׀ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ ׀ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת מֵחֶ֗רֶב מְקֻבֶּ֙צֶת֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים עַ֚ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר־הָי֥וּ לְחָרְבָּ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד וְהִיא֙ מֵעַמִּ֣ים הוּצָ֔אָה וְיָשְׁב֥וּ לָבֶ֖טַח כֻּלָּֽם׃
  
  9 וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ כַּשֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא כֶּעָנָ֛ן לְכַסּ֥וֹת הָאָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְכָל־אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽךְ׃
  
  10 כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יַעֲל֤וּ דְבָרִים֙ עַל־לְבָבֶ֔ךָ וְחָשַׁבְתָּ֖ מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת רָעָֽה׃
  
  11 וְאָמַרְתָּ֗ אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּרָז֔וֹת אָבוֹא֙ הַשֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לָבֶ֑טַח כֻּלָּ֗ם יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּאֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֔ה וּבְרִ֥יחַ וּדְלָתַ֖יִם אֵ֥ין לָהֶֽם׃
  
  12 לִשְׁלֹ֥ל שָׁלָ֖ל וְלָבֹ֣ז בַּ֑ז לְהָשִׁ֨יב יָדְךָ֜ עַל־חֳרָב֣וֹת נוֹשָׁבֹ֗ת וְאֶל־עַם֙ מְאֻסָּ֣ף מִגּוֹיִ֔ם עֹשֶׂה֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עַל־טַבּ֥וּר הָאָֽרֶץ׃
  
  13 שְׁבָ֡א וּ֠דְדָן וְסֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְכָל־כְּפִרֶ֙יהָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְךָ֔ הֲלִשְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א הֲלָבֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑ךָ לָשֵׂ֣את ׀ כֶּ֣סֶף וְזָהָ֗ב לָקַ֙חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְקִנְיָ֔ן לִשְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל׃
  
  14 לָכֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א בֶן־אָדָ֔ם וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ לְג֔וֹג כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה הֲל֣וֹא ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּשֶׁ֨בֶת עַמִּ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לָבֶ֖טַח תֵּדָֽע׃
  
  15 וּבָ֤אתָ מִמְּקֽוֹמְךָ֙ מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֔וֹן אַתָּ֕ה וְעַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּ֑ךְ רֹכְבֵ֤י סוּסִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔ם קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל וְחַ֥יִל רָֽב׃
  
  16 וְעָלִ֙יתָ֙ עַל־עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֶּֽעָנָ֖ן לְכַסּ֣וֹת הָאָ֑רֶץ בְּאַחֲרִ֨ית הַיָּמִ֜ים תִּֽהְיֶ֗ה וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֙יךָ֙ עַל־אַרְצִ֔י לְמַעַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַגּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗י בְּהִקָּדְשִׁ֥י בְךָ֛ לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג׃
  
  17 כֹּֽה־אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֗ה הַֽאַתָּה־ה֨וּא אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי בְּיָמִ֣ים קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים בְּיַד֙ עֲבָדַי֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַֽנִּבְּאִ֛ים בַּיָּמִ֥ים הָהֵ֖ם שָׁנִ֑ים לְהָבִ֥יא אֹתְךָ֖ עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  18 וְהָיָ֣ה ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא בְּי֨וֹם בּ֥וֹא גוֹג֙ עַל־אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה תַּעֲלֶ֥ה חֲמָתִ֖י בְּאַפִּֽי׃
  
  19 וּבְקִנְאָתִ֥י בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִ֖י דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי אִם־לֹ֣א ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ רַ֣עַשׁ גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ל אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  20 וְרָעֲשׁ֣וּ מִפָּנַ֡י דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּם֩ וְע֨וֹף הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם וְחַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה וְכָל־הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ הָרֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה וְכֹל֙ הָֽאָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָאֲדָמָ֑ה וְנֶהֶרְס֣וּ הֶהָרִ֗ים וְנָֽפְלוּ֙ הַמַּדְרֵג֔וֹת וְכָל־חוֹמָ֖ה לָאָ֥רֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל׃
  
  21 וְקָרָ֨אתִי עָלָ֤יו לְכָל־הָרַי֙ חֶ֔רֶב נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה חֶ֥רֶב אִ֖ישׁ בְּאָחִ֥יו תִּֽהְיֶֽה׃
  
  22 וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י אִתּ֖וֹ בְּדֶ֣בֶר וּבְדָ֑ם וְגֶ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף֩ וְאַבְנֵ֨י אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ אֵ֣שׁ וְגָפְרִ֗ית אַמְטִ֤יר עָלָיו֙ וְעַל־אֲגַפָּ֔יו וְעַל־עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּֽוֹ׃
  
  23 וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י וְנ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י לְעֵינֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֑ים וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  Ephésiens 5
  
  1 γίνεσθε οὖν μιμηταὶ τοῦ θεοῦ, ὡς τέκνα ἀγαπητά,
  
  2 καὶ περιπατεῖτε ἐν ἀγάπῃ, καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν ἡμᾶς καὶ παρέδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν προσφορὰν καὶ θυσίαν τῷ θεῷ εἰς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας.
  
  3 Πορνεία δὲ καὶ ἀκαθαρσία πᾶσα ἢ πλεονεξία μηδὲ ὀνομαζέσθω ἐν ὑμῖν, καθὼς πρέπει ἁγίοις,
  
  4 καὶ αἰσχρότης καὶ μωρολογία ἢ εὐτραπελία, ἃ οὐκ ἀνῆκεν, ἀλλὰ μᾶλλον εὐχαριστία.
  
  5 τοῦτο γὰρ ἴστε γινώσκοντες ὅτι πᾶς πόρνος ἢ ἀκάθαρτος ἢ πλεονέκτης, ὅ ἐστιν εἰδωλολάτρης, οὐκ ἔχει κληρονομίαν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ Χριστοῦ καὶ θεοῦ.
  
  6 Μηδεὶς ὑμᾶς ἀπατάτω κενοῖς λόγοις, διὰ ταῦτα γὰρ ἔρχεται ἡ ὀργὴ τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς τῆς ἀπειθείας.
  
  7 μὴ οὖν γίνεσθε συμμέτοχοι αὐτῶν·
  
  8 ἦτε γάρ ποτε σκότος, νῦν δὲ φῶς ἐν κυρίῳ· ὡς τέκνα φωτὸς περιπατεῖτε,
  
  9 ὁ γὰρ καρπὸς τοῦ φωτὸς ἐν πάσῃ ἀγαθωσύνῃ καὶ δικαιοσύνῃ καὶ ἀληθείᾳ,
  
  10 δοκιμάζοντες τί ἐστιν εὐάρεστον τῷ κυρίῳ·
  
  11 καὶ μὴ συγκοινωνεῖτε τοῖς ἔργοις τοῖς ἀκάρποις τοῦ σκότους, μᾶλλον δὲ καὶ ἐλέγχετε,
  
  12 τὰ γὰρ κρυφῇ γινόμενα ὑπ’ αὐτῶν αἰσχρόν ἐστιν καὶ λέγειν·
  
  13 τὰ δὲ πάντα ἐλεγχόμενα ὑπὸ τοῦ φωτὸς φανεροῦται,
  
  14 πᾶν γὰρ τὸ φανερούμενον φῶς ἐστιν. διὸ λέγει· Ἔγειρε, ὁ καθεύδων, καὶ ἀνάστα ἐκ τῶν νεκρῶν, καὶ ἐπιφαύσει σοι ὁ Χριστός.
  
  15 Βλέπετε οὖν ἀκριβῶς πῶς περιπατεῖτε, μὴ ὡς ἄσοφοι ἀλλ’ ὡς σοφοί,
  
  16 ἐξαγοραζόμενοι τὸν καιρόν, ὅτι αἱ ἡμέραι πονηραί εἰσιν.
  
  17 διὰ τοῦτο μὴ γίνεσθε ἄφρονες, ἀλλὰ συνίετε τί τὸ θέλημα τοῦ κυρίου·
  
  18 καὶ μὴ μεθύσκεσθε οἴνῳ, ἐν ᾧ ἐστιν ἀσωτία, ἀλλὰ πληροῦσθε ἐν πνεύματι,
  
  19 λαλοῦντες ἑαυτοῖς ψαλμοῖς καὶ ὕμνοις καὶ ᾠδαῖς πνευματικαῖς, ᾄδοντες καὶ ψάλλοντες τῇ καρδίᾳ ὑμῶν τῷ κυρίῳ,
  
  20 εὐχαριστοῦντες πάντοτε ὑπὲρ πάντων ἐν ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τῷ θεῷ καὶ πατρί,
  
  21 ὑποτασσόμενοι ἀλλήλοις ἐν φόβῳ Χριστοῦ.
  
  22 Αἱ γυναῖκες τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν ὡς τῷ κυρίῳ,
  
  23 ὅτι ἀνήρ ἐστιν κεφαλὴ τῆς γυναικὸς ὡς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς κεφαλὴ τῆς ἐκκλησίας, αὐτὸς σωτὴρ τοῦ σώματος.
  
  24 ἀλλὰ ὡς ἡ ἐκκλησία ὑποτάσσεται τῷ Χριστῷ, οὕτως καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τοῖς ἀνδράσιν ἐν παντί.
  
  25 Οἱ ἄνδρες, ἀγαπᾶτε τὰς γυναῖκας, καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς ἠγάπησεν τὴν ἐκκλησίαν καὶ ἑαυτὸν παρέδωκεν ὑπὲρ αὐτῆς,
  
  26 ἵνα αὐτὴν ἁγιάσῃ καθαρίσας τῷ λουτρῷ τοῦ ὕδατος ἐν ῥήματι,
  
  27 ἵνα παραστήσῃ αὐτὸς ἑαυτῷ ἔνδοξον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν, μὴ ἔχουσαν σπίλον ἢ ῥυτίδα ἤ τι τῶν τοιούτων, ἀλλ’ ἵνα ᾖ ἁγία καὶ ἄμωμος.
  
  28 οὕτως ὀφείλουσιν καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες ἀγαπᾶν τὰς ἑαυτῶν γυναῖκας ὡς τὰ ἑαυτῶν σώματα· ὁ ἀγαπῶν τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γυναῖκα ἑαυτὸν ἀγαπᾷ,
  
  29 οὐδεὶς γάρ ποτε τὴν ἑαυτοῦ σάρκα ἐμίσησεν, ἀλλὰ ἐκτρέφει καὶ θάλπει αὐτήν, καθὼς καὶ ὁ Χριστὸς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν,
  
  30 ὅτι μέλη ἐσμὲν τοῦ σώματος αὐτοῦ.
  
  31 ἀντὶ τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα καὶ προσκολληθήσεται τῇ γυναικὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν.
  
  32 τὸ μυστήριον τοῦτο μέγα ἐστίν, ἐγὼ δὲ λέγω εἰς Χριστὸν καὶ εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν.
  
  33 πλὴν καὶ ὑμεῖς οἱ καθ’ ἕνα ἕκαστος τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γυναῖκα οὕτως ἀγαπάτω ὡς ἑαυτόν, ἡ δὲ γυνὴ ἵνα φοβῆται τὸν ἄνδρα.
