  1 Et la reine de Sheba entendit parler de la renommée de Salomon, en relation avec le nom de l'Éternel, et elle vint pour l'éprouver par des énigmes.
  
  2 Et elle vint à Jérusalem avec un fort grand train, avec des chameaux qui portaient des aromates, et de l'or en très-grande quantité, et des pierres précieuses ; et elle vint vers Salomon et lui parla de tout ce qu'elle avait sur son coeur.
  
  3 Et Salomon lui expliqua toutes les choses dont elle parlait : il n'y eut pas une chose cachée pour le roi, pas une chose qu'il ne lui expliquât.
  
  4 Et la reine de Sheba vit toute la sagesse de Salomon, et la maison qu'il avait bâtie,
  
  5 et les mets de sa table, et la tenue de ses serviteurs, et l'ordre de service des officiers, et leurs vêtements, et ses échansons, et la rampe par laquelle il montait dans la maison de l'Éternel, et il n'y eut plus d'esprit en elle ;
  
  6 et elle dit au roi : Ce que j'ai entendu dire dans mon pays sur tout ton état et sur ta sagesse, était la vérité ;
  
  7 mais je n'ai pas cru ces choses, jusqu'à ce que je sois venue et que mes yeux aient vu ; et voici, on ne m'avait pas rapporté la moitié ; tu surpasses en sagesse et en prospérité la rumeur que j'ai entendue.
  
  8 Heureux tes gens, heureux ceux-ci, tes serviteurs, qui se tiennent continuellement devant toi, et qui entendent ta sagesse !
  
  9 Béni soit l'Éternel, ton Dieu, qui a pris plaisir en toi pour te placer sur le trône d'Israël ! Parce que l'Éternel aimait Israël à toujours, il t'a établi roi pour faire droit et justice.
  
  10 Et elle donna au roi cent vingt talents d'or, et des aromates en très-grande quantité, et des pierres précieuses. Il n'est plus venu une abondance d'aromates pareille à ce que la reine de Sheba en donna au roi Salomon.
  
  11 (La flotte aussi de Hiram qui amenait de l'or d'Ophir, apporta d'Ophir du bois d'almuggim en très-grande quantité, et des pierres précieuses.
  
  12 Et, avec le bois d'almuggim, le roi fit des balustrades pour la maison de l'Éternel et pour la maison du roi, et des harpes et des luths pour les chanteurs. Il n'est pas venu de semblable bois d'almuggim, et on n'en a pas vu jusqu'à ce jour.)
  
  13 Et le roi Salomon donna à la reine tout son désir, tout ce qu'elle demanda, outre ce qu'il lui donna selon le pouvoir du roi Salomon. Et elle s'en retourna dans son pays, elle et ses serviteurs.
  
  14 Et le poids de l'or qui arrivait à Salomon dans une année était de six cent soixante-six talents d'or,
  
  15 outre ce qui lui venait des commerçants ambulants et du trafic des marchands, et de tous les rois de l'Arabie, et des gouverneurs du pays.
  
  16 Et le roi Salomon fit deux cents grands boucliers d'or battu, mettant à chaque bouclier six cents sicles d'or,
  
  17 et trois cents petits boucliers d'or battu, mettant à chaque bouclier trois mines d'or ; et le roi les mit dans la maison de la forêt du Liban.
  
  18 Et le roi fit un grand trône d'ivoire, et le recouvrit d'or affiné :
  
  19 le trône avait six degrés, et le haut du trône par derrière était arrondi ; et il y avait des bras d'un côté et de l'autre à l'endroit du siège, et deux lions qui se tenaient à côté des bras,
  
  20 et douze lions qui se tenaient là sur les six degrés, d'un côté et de l'autre : il ne s'en était point fait de pareil dans aucun royaume.
  
  21 Et tous les vases à boire du roi Salomon étaient d'or, et tous les vases de la maison de la forêt du Liban, d'or pur : aucun n'était d'argent, il n'était compté pour rien aux jours de Salomon.
  
  22 Car la flotte de Tarsis qu'avait le roi, tenait la mer avec la flotte de Hiram ; une fois tous les trois ans la flotte de Tarsis venait, apportant de l'or et de l'argent, de l'ivoire, et des singes et des paons.
  
  23 Et le roi Salomon fut plus grand que tous les rois de la terre, en richesse et en sagesse.
  
  24 Et toute la terre recherchait la face de Salomon, pour entendre sa sagesse, que Dieu avait mise dans son coeur.
  
  25 Et ils apportaient chacun son présent : des vases d'argent et des vases d'or, et des vêtements, et des armes, et des aromates, des chevaux et des mulets : chaque année le tribut de l'année.
  
  26 Et Salomon rassembla des chars et des cavaliers ; et il les plaça dans les villes à chars et auprès du roi à Jérusalem.
  
  27 Et le roi fit que l'argent, dans Jérusalem, était comme les pierres, et il fit que les cèdres étaient, en quantité, comme les sycomores qui sont dans le pays plat.
  
  28 Et quant aux chevaux de Salomon, il les tirait d'Égypte : une caravane de marchands du roi prenait convoi de chevaux pour un certain prix :
  
  29 Et un char montait et sortait d'Égypte pour six cents sicles d'argent, et un cheval pour cent cinquante ; et on en faisait venir ainsi, par leur main, pour tous les rois des Héthiens et pour les rois de Syrie.
  
  Ezéchiel 40
  
  1 En la vingt-cinquième année de notre transportation, au commencement de l'année, le dixième jour du mois, en la quatorzième année après que la ville eut été frappée, en ce même jour, la main de l'Éternel fut sur moi, et il m'amena là.
  
  2 Dans les visions de Dieu, il m'amena au pays d'Israël, et me posa sur une très-haute montagne ; et sur elle il y avait comme une ville bâtie, du côté du midi.
  
  3 Et il m'amena là, et voici un homme dont l'aspect était comme l'aspect de l'airain ; et il avait dans sa main un cordeau de lin et une canne à mesurer, et il se tenait dans la porte.
  
  4 Et l'homme me dit : Fils d'homme, regarde de tes yeux, et écoute de tes oreilles, et applique ton coeur à tout ce que je te fais voir ; car c'est afin de te le faire voir que tu as été amené ici. Déclare à la maison d'Israël tout ce que tu vois.
  
  5 Et voici, en dehors de la maison, un mur tout à l'entour, et, dans la main de l'homme, une canne à mesurer de six coudées, ayant chacune une coudée et une paume. Et il mesura la largeur de la construction, une canne, et la hauteur, une canne.
  
  6 Et il vint à la porte qui regardait vers l'orient, et il monta par ses degrés ; et il mesura le seuil de la porte, une canne en largeur, et l'autre seuil, une canne en largeur ;
  
  7 et chaque chambre, une canne en longueur et une canne en largeur ; et entre les chambres, cinq coudées ; et le seuil de la porte, du côté du portique de la porte, en dedans, une canne.
  
  8 Et il mesura le portique de la porte, en dedans, une canne.
  
  9 Et il mesura le portique de la porte, huit coudées, et ses piliers, deux coudées ; et le portique de la porte était vers l'intérieur.
  
  10 Et les chambres de la porte qui regardait vers l'orient étaient trois deçà et trois delà : elles avaient, les trois, une seule mesure, et les piliers deçà et delà, une seule mesure.
  
  11 Et il mesura la largeur de l'entrée de la porte, dix coudées, et la longueur de la porte, treize coudées.
  
  12 Et il y avait devant les chambres une banquette d'une coudée, et une banquette d'une coudée de l'autre côté ; et chaque chambre avait six coudées deçà et six coudées delà.
  
  13 Et il mesura la porte depuis le toit d'une chambre jusqu'au toit de l'autre chambre, une largeur de vingt-cinq coudées, entrée vis-à-vis d'entrée.
  
  14 Et il fit des piliers, soixante coudées ; et à côté du pilier était le parvis, tout autour de la porte.
  
  15 Et depuis le devant de la porte d'entrée jusqu'au devant du portique de la porte intérieure, cinquante coudées.
  
  16 Et il y avait aux chambres des fenêtres fermées, ainsi qu'à leurs piliers, en dedans de la porte, tout autour, et de même aux avances ; et les fenêtres tout autour donnaient vers l'intérieur ; et sur les piliers il y avait des palmiers.
  
  17 Et il m'amena dans le parvis extérieur ; et voici, des cellules, et un pavement garnissant le parvis, tout autour ; il y avait trente cellules sur le pavement.
  
  18 Et le pavement était à côté des portes, répondant à la longueur des portes, savoir le pavement inférieur.
  
  19 Et il mesura la largeur depuis le devant de la porte inférieure jusqu'au devant du parvis intérieur, en dehors, cent coudées à l'orient et au nord.
  
  20 Et il mesura la longueur et la largeur de la porte du parvis extérieur, qui regardait vers le nord ;
  
  21 et ses chambres, trois deçà et trois delà, et ses piliers, et ses avances : elle était selon la mesure de la première porte, sa longueur, cinquante coudées, et sa largeur, vingt-cinq coudées.
  
  22 Et ses fenêtres, et ses avances, et ses palmiers, étaient selon la mesure de la porte qui regardait vers l'orient ; et on y montait par sept degrés, et ses avances étaient devant eux.
  
  23 Et la porte du parvis intérieur était vis-à-vis de la porte du nord et de l'orient ; et il mesura, de porte à porte, cent coudées.
  
  24 Et il me conduisit vers le midi ; et voici, une porte vers le midi ; et il mesura ses piliers et ses avances selon ces mêmes mesures ;
  
  25 et il y avait des fenêtres à la porte et à ses avances, tout autour, comme ces fenêtres-là : la longueur, cinquante coudées, et la largeur, vingt-cinq coudées.
  
  26 Et il y avait sept degrés pour y monter, et ses avances devant eux ; et la porte avait des palmiers, un deçà et un delà, sur ses piliers.
  
  27 Et il y avait une porte au parvis intérieur vers le midi ; et il mesura de porte à porte, vers le midi, cent coudées.
  
  28 Et il m'amena dans le parvis intérieur, par la porte du midi ; et il mesura la porte du midi selon ces mêmes mesures ;
  
  29 et ses chambres, et ses piliers, et ses avances, selon ces mesures-là ; et il y avait des fenêtres à la porte et à ses avances, tout autour : la longueur, cinquante coudées, et la largeur, vingt-cinq coudées.
  
  30 Et il y avait des avances tout autour ; la longueur, vingt-cinq coudées, et la largeur, cinq coudées.
  
  31 Et ses avances étaient vers le parvis extérieur ; et il y avait des palmiers sur ses piliers ; et son escalier avait huit degrés.
  
  32 Et il m'amena dans le parvis intérieur, vers l'orient ; et il mesura la porte selon ces mêmes mesures ;
  
  33 et ses chambres, et ses piliers, et ses avances, selon ces mesures-là ; et il y avait des fenêtres à la porte et à ses avances, tout autour : la longueur, cinquante coudées, et la largeur, vingt-cinq coudées.
  
  34 Et ses avances étaient vers le parvis extérieur ; et il y avait des palmiers sur ses piliers, deçà et delà ; et son escalier avait huit degrés.
  
  35 Et il m'amena à la porte du nord, et il mesura selon ces mesures-là
  
  36 ses chambres, ses piliers, et ses avances ; et elle avait des fenêtres tout autour : la longueur, cinquante coudées, et la largeur, vingt-cinq coudées.
  
  37 Et ses piliers étaient vers le parvis extérieur ; et il y avait des palmiers sur ses piliers, deçà et delà ; et son escalier avait huit degrés.
  
  38 Et il y avait une cellule et son entrée auprès des piliers des portes : là on lavait l'holocauste.
  
  39 Et, dans le portique de la porte, il y avait deux tables deçà et deux tables delà, pour égorger sur elles l'holocauste et le sacrifice pour le péché et le sacrifice pour le délit.
  
  40 Et sur le côté, en dehors, à la montée, à l'entrée de la porte du nord, il y avait deux tables ; et de l'autre côté, près du portique de la porte, deux tables :
  
  41 quatre tables deçà et quatre tables delà, à côté de la porte, -huit tables, sur lesquelles on égorgeait ;
  
  42 et, auprès de l'escalier, quatre tables en pierre de taille, longues d'une coudée et demie, et larges d'une coudée et demie, et hautes d'une coudée ; on y posait les instruments avec lesquels on égorgeait l'holocauste et les autres sacrifices.
  
  43 Et les doubles crochets, d'une paume, étaient fixés à la maison, tout autour ; et, sur les tables, on mettait la chair des offrandes.
  
  44 Et en dehors de la porte intérieure il y avait dans le parvis intérieur deux cellules, l'une sur le côté de la porte du nord et qui regardait vers le midi, l'autre sur le côté de la porte du midi, qui regardait vers le nord.
  
  45 Et il me dit : Cette cellule qui regarde vers le midi est pour les sacrificateurs qui font l'acquit de la charge de la maison ;
  
  46 et la cellule qui regarde vers le nord est pour les sacrificateurs qui font l'acquit de la charge concernant l'autel. Ce sont les fils de Tsadok, qui, d'entre les fils de Lévi, s'approchent de l'Éternel pour faire son service.
  
  47 Et il mesura le parvis : la longueur, cent coudées, et la largeur, cent coudées, un carré ; et l'autel était devant la maison.
  
  48 Et il m'amena au portique de la maison ; et il mesura le pilier du portique, cinq coudées deçà, et cinq coudées delà ; et la largeur de la porte était de trois coudées deçà, et de trois coudées delà.
  
  49 La longueur du portique était de vingt coudées, et la largeur, de onze coudées, et cela aux degrés par lesquels on y montait ; et il y avait des colonnes près des piliers, une deçà et une delà.

  1 Paul et Timothée, esclaves de Jésus Christ, à tous les saints dans le Christ Jésus qui sont à Philippes, avec les surveillants et les serviteurs :
  
  2 Grâce et paix à vous, de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus Christ !
  
  3 Je rends grâces à mon Dieu pour tout le souvenir que j'ai de vous
  
  4 dans chacune de mes supplications, faisant toujours des supplications pour vous tous, avec joie,
  
  5 à cause de la part que vous prenez à l'évangile depuis le premier jour jusqu'à maintenant ;
  
  6 étant assuré de ceci même, que celui qui a commencé en vous une bonne oeuvre, l'achèvera jusqu'au jour de Jésus Christ :
  
  7 comme il est juste que je pense ainsi de vous tous, parce que vous m'avez dans dans votre coeur, et que, dans mes liens et dans la défense et la confirmation de l'évangile, vous avez tous été participants de la grâce avec moi.
  
  8 Car Dieu m'est témoin que je pense avec une vive affection à vous tous, dans les entrailles du Christ Jésus.
  
  9 Et je demande ceci dans mes prières, que votre amour abonde encore de plus en plus en connaissance et toute intelligence,
  
  10 pour que vous discerniez les choses excellentes, afin que vous soyez purs et que vous ne bronchiez pas jusqu'au jour de Christ,
  
  11 étant remplis du fruit de la justice, qui est par Jésus Christ à la gloire et à la louange de Dieu.
  
  12 Or, frères, je veux que vous sachiez que les circonstances par lesquelles je passe sont plutôt arrivées pour l'avancement de l'évangile ;
  
  13 en sorte que mes liens sont devenus manifestes comme étant en Christ, dans tout le prétoire et à tous les autres,
  
  14 et que la plupart des frères, ayant, dans le Seigneur, pris confiance par mes liens, ont beaucoup plus de hardiesse pour annoncer la parole sans crainte.
  
  15 Quelques-uns, il est vrai, prêchent le Christ aussi par envie et par un esprit de dispute, mais quelques-uns aussi de bonne volonté ;
  
  16 ceux-ci par amour, sachant que je suis établi pour la défense de l'évangile ;
  
  17 ceux-là annoncent le Christ par esprit de parti, non pas purement, croyant susciter de la tribulation pour mes liens.
  
  18 Quoi donc ? -Toutefois, de toute manière, soit comme prétexte, soit en vérité, Christ est annoncé ; et en cela je me réjouis et aussi je me réjouirai.
  
  19 Car je sais que ceci me tournera à salut par vos supplications et par les secours de l'Esprit de Jésus Christ,
  
  20 selon ma vive attente et mon espérance que je ne serai confus en rien, mais qu'avec toute hardiesse, maintenant encore comme toujours, Christ sera magnifié dans mon corps, soit par la vie, soit par la mort.
  
  21 Car pour moi, vivre c'est Christ ; et mourir, un gain ;
  
  22 mais si je dois vivre dans la chair, il en vaut bien la peine ; et ce que je dois choisir, je n'en sais rien ;
  
  23 mais je suis pressé des deux côtés, ayant le désir de déloger et d'être avec Christ, car cela est de beaucoup meilleur ;
  
  24 mais il est plus nécessaire à cause de vous que je demeure dans la chair.
  
  25 Et ayant cette confiance, je sais que je demeurerai et que je resterai avec vous tous pour l'avancement et la joie de votre foi,
  
  26 afin qu'en moi vous ayez plus abondamment sujet de vous glorifier dans le Christ Jésus, par mon retour au milieu de vous.
  
  27 Seulement conduisez-vous d'une manière digne de l'évangile du Christ, afin que, soit que je vienne et que je vous voie, soit que je sois absent, j'apprenne à votre sujet que vous tenez ferme dans un seul et même esprit, combattant ensemble d'une même âme,
  
  28 avec la foi de l'évangile, et n'étant en rien épouvantés par les adversaires : ce qui pour eux est une démonstration de perdition, mais de votre salut, et cela de la part de Dieu :
  
  29 parce qu'à vous, il a été gratuitement donné, par rapport à Christ, non-seulement de croire en lui, mais aussi de souffrir pour lui,
  
  30 ayant à soutenir le même combat que vous avez vu en moi et que vous apprenez être maintenant en moi.

  1 When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Yahweh, she came to prove him with hard questions.
  
  2 She came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices, and very much gold, and precious stones; and when she had come to Solomon, she talked with him of all that was in her heart.
  
  3 Solomon told her all her questions: there was not anything hidden from the king which he didn't tell her.
  
  4 When the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,
  
  5 and the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their clothing, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Yahweh; there was no more spirit in her.
  
  6 She said to the king, "It was a true report that I heard in my own land of your acts, and of your wisdom.
  
  7 However I didn't believe the words, until I came, and my eyes had seen it. Behold, the half was not told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.
  
  8 Happy are your men, happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.
  
  9 Blessed is Yahweh your God, who delighted in you, to set you on the throne of Israel. Because Yahweh loved Israel forever, therefore made he you king, to do justice and righteousness."
  
  10 She gave the king one hundred twenty talents of gold, and of spices very great store, and precious stones. There came no more such abundance of spices as these which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.
  
  11 The navy also of Hiram, that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir great plenty of almug trees and precious stones.
  
  12 The king made of the almug trees pillars for the house of Yahweh, and for the king's house, harps also and stringed instruments for the singers: there came no such almug trees, nor were seen, to this day.
  
  13 King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.
  
  14 Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold,
  
  15 besides that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.
  
  16 King Solomon made two hundred bucklers of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went to one buckler.
  
  17 he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.
  
  18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the finest gold.
  
  19 There were six steps to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind; and there were stays on either side by the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the stays.
  
  20 Twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other on the six steps: there was nothing like it made in any kingdom.
  
  21 All king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold: none were of silver; it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon.
  
  22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram: once every three years came the navy of Tarshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.
  
  23 So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.
  
  24 All the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.
  
  25 They brought every man his tribute, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armor, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year.
  
  26 Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, that he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
  
  27 The king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycamore trees that are in the lowland, for abundance.
  
  28 The horses which Solomon had were brought out of Egypt; and the king's merchants received them in droves, each drove at a price.
  
  29 A chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they brought them out by their means.
  
  Ezéchiel 40
  
  1 In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth [day] of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was struck, in the same day, the hand of Yahweh was on me, and he brought me there.
  
  2 In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me down on a very high mountain, whereon was as it were the frame of a city on the south.
  
  3 He brought me there; and, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate.
  
  4 The man said to me, Son of man, see with your eyes, and hear with your ears, and set your heart on all that I shall show you; for, to the intent that I may show them to you, you are brought here: declare all that you see to the house of Israel.
  
  5 Behold, a wall on the outside of the house all around, and in the man's hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a handbreadth each: so he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.
  
  6 Then came he to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up its steps: and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold, one reed broad.
  
  7 Every lodge was one reed long, and one reed broad; and [the space] between the lodges was five cubits; and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.
  
  8 He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.
  
  9 Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and its posts, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.
  
  10 The lodges of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side; they three were of one measure: and the posts had one measure on this side and on that side.
  
  11 He measured the breadth of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;
  
  12 and a border before the lodges, one cubit [on this side], and a border, one cubit on that side; and the lodges, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.
  
  13 He measured the gate from the roof of the one lodge to the roof of the other, a breadth of twenty-five cubits; door against door.
  
  14 He made also posts, sixty cubits; and the court [reached] to the posts, around the gate.
  
  15 [From] the forefront of the gate at the entrance to the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.
  
  16 There were closed windows to the lodges, and to their posts within the gate all around, and likewise to the arches; and windows were around inward; and on [each] post were palm trees.
  
  17 Then brought he me into the outer court; and behold, there were rooms and a pavement, made for the court all around: thirty rooms were on the pavement.
  
  18 The pavement was by the side of the gates, answerable to the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.
  
  19 Then he measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate to the forefront of the inner court outside, one hundred cubits, [both] on the east and on the north.
  
  20 The gate of the outer court whose prospect is toward the north, he measured its length and its breadth.
  
  21 The lodges of it were three on this side and three on that side; and its posts and its arches were after the measure of the first gate: its length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.
  
  22 The windows of it, and its arches, and the palm trees of it, were after the measure of the gate whose prospect is toward the east; and they went up to it by seven steps; and its arches were before them.
  
  23 There was a gate to the inner court over against the [other] gate, [both] on the north and on the east; and he measured from gate to gate one hundred cubits.
  
  24 He led me toward the south; and behold, a gate toward the south: and he measured its posts and its arches according to these measures.
  
  25 There were windows in it and in its arches all around, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.
  
  26 There were seven steps to go up to it, and its arches were before them; and it had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, on its posts.

  35 He brought me to the north gate: and he measured [it] according to these measures;
  
  36 its lodges, its posts, and its arches: and there were windows therein all around; the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.
  
  37 The posts of it were toward the outer court; and palm trees were on its posts, on this side, and on that side: and the ascent to it had eight steps.
  
  38 A room with its door was by the posts at the gates; there they washed the burnt offering.
  
  39 In the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to kill thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.
  
  40 On the [one] side outside, as one goes up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.
  
  41 Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate; eight tables, whereupon they killed [the sacrifices].
  
  42 There were four tables for the burnt offering, of cut stone, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereupon they laid the instruments with which they killed the burnt offering and the sacrifice.
  
  43 The hooks, a handbreadth long, were fastened within all around: and on the tables was the flesh of the offering.
  
  44 Outside of the inner gate were rooms for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their prospect was toward the south; one at the side of the east gate having the prospect toward the north.
  
  45 He said to me, This room, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the keepers of the duty of the house;
  
  46 and the room whose prospect is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the duty of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Yahweh to minister to him.
  
  47 He measured the court, one hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, foursquare; and the altar was before the house.
  
  48 Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.
  
  49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits; even by the steps by which they went up to it: and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

  1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ; To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and servants :
  
  2 Grace to you, and peace from God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  
  3 I thank my God whenever I remember you,
  
  4 always in every request of mine on behalf of you all making my requests with joy,
  
  5 for your partnership in furtherance of the Good News from the first day until now;
  
  6 being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
  
  7 It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.
  
  8 For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.
  
  9 This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment;
  
  10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ;
  
  11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
  
  12 Now I desire to have you know, brothers, that the things which happened to me have turned out rather to the progress of the Good News;
  
  13 so that it became evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ;
  
  14 and that most of the brothers in the Lord, being confident through my bonds, are more abundantly bold to speak the word of God without fear.
  
  15 Some indeed preach Christ even out of envy and strife, and some also out of good will.
  
  16 The former insincerely preach Christ from selfish ambition, thinking that they add affliction to my chains;
  
  17 but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the Good News.
  
  18 What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed. I rejoice in this, yes, and will rejoice.
  
  19 For I know that this will turn out to my salvation, through your supplication and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
  
  20 according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
  
  21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
  
  22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don't know what I will choose.
  
  23 But I am in a dilemma between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
  
  24 Yet, to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.
  
  25 Having this confidence, I know that I will remain, yes, and remain with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith,
  
  26 that your rejoicing may abound in Christ Jesus in me through my presence with you again.
  
  27 Only let your way of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;
  
  28 and in nothing frightened by the adversaries, which is for them a proof of destruction, but to you of salvation, and that from God.
  
  29 Because it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on his behalf,
  
  30 having the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear is in me.

  28 וּמוֹצָ֧א הַסּוּסִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וּמִקְוֵ֕ה סֹחֲרֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יִקְח֥וּ מִקְוֵ֖ה בִּמְחִֽיר׃

  11 וַיָּ֛מָד אֶת־רֹ֥חַב פֶּֽתַח־הַשַּׁ֖עַר עֶ֣שֶׂר אַמּ֑וֹת אֹ֣רֶךְ הַשַּׁ֔עַר שְׁל֥וֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה אַמּֽוֹת׃
  
  12 וּגְב֞וּל לִפְנֵ֤י הַתָּאוֹת֙ אַמָּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ת וְאַמָּה־אַחַ֥ת גְּב֖וּל מִפֹּ֑ה וְהַתָּ֕א שֵׁשׁ־אַמּ֣וֹת מִפּ֔וֹ וְשֵׁ֥שׁ אַמּ֖וֹת מִפּֽוֹ׃
  
  13 וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־הַשַּׁ֗עַר מִגַּ֤ג הַתָּא֙ לְגַגּ֔וֹ רֹ֕חַב עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְחָמֵ֖שׁ אַמּ֑וֹת פֶּ֖תַח נֶ֥גֶד פָּֽתַח׃
  
  14 וַיַּ֥עַשׂ אֶת־אֵילִ֖ים שִׁשִּׁ֣ים אַמָּ֑ה וְאֶל־אֵיל֙ הֶֽחָצֵ֔ר הַשַּׁ֖עַר סָבִ֥יב ׀ סָבִֽיב׃
  
  15 וְעַ֗ל פְּנֵי֙ הַשַּׁ֣עַר *היאתון **הָֽאִית֔וֹן עַל־לִפְנֵ֕י אֻלָ֥ם הַשַּׁ֖עַר הַפְּנִימִ֑י חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃
  
  16 וְחַלֹּנ֣וֹת אֲטֻמ֣וֹת אֶֽל־הַתָּאִ֡ים וְאֶל֩ אֵלֵיהֵ֨מָה לִפְנִ֤ימָה לַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֔יב וְכֵ֖ן לָאֵֽלַמּ֑וֹת וְחַלּוֹנ֞וֹת סָבִ֤יב ׀ סָבִיב֙ לִפְנִ֔ימָה וְאֶל־אַ֖יִל תִּמֹרִֽים׃
  
  17 וַיְבִיאֵ֗נִי אֶל־הֶֽחָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֤ה לְשָׁכוֹת֙ וְרִֽצְפָ֔ה עָשׂ֥וּי לֶחָצֵ֖ר סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים לְשָׁכ֖וֹת אֶל־הָרִֽצְפָֽה׃
  
  18 וְהָרִֽצְפָה֙ אֶל־כֶּ֣תֶף הַשְּׁעָרִ֔ים לְעֻמַּ֖ת אֹ֣רֶךְ הַשְּׁעָרִ֑ים הָרִֽצְפָ֖ה הַתַּחְתּוֹנָֽה׃
  
  19 וַיָּ֣מָד רֹ֡חַב מִלִּפְנֵי֩ הַשַּׁ֨עַר הַתַּחְתּ֜וֹנָה לִפְנֵ֨י הֶחָצֵ֧ר הַפְּנִימִ֛י מִח֖וּץ מֵאָ֣ה אַמָּ֑ה הַקָּדִ֖ים וְהַצָּפֽוֹן׃
  
  20 וְהַשַּׁ֗עַר אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנָיו֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לֶחָצֵ֖ר הַחִֽיצוֹנָ֑ה מָדַ֥ד אָרְכּ֖וֹ וְרָחְבּֽוֹ׃
  
  21 *ותאו **וְתָאָ֗יו שְׁלוֹשָׁ֤ה מִפּוֹ֙ וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה מִפּ֔וֹ *ואילו **וְאֵילָ֤יו *ואלמו **וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙ הָיָ֔ה כְּמִדַּ֖ת הַשַּׁ֣עַר הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אָרְכּ֔וֹ וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים בָּאַמָּֽה׃
  
  22 *וחלונו **וְחַלּוֹנָ֤יו *ואלמו **וְאֵֽלַמָּיו֙ *ותמרו **וְתִ֣מֹרָ֔יו כְּמִדַּ֣ת הַשַּׁ֔עַר אֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּנָ֖יו דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֑ים וּבְמַעֲל֥וֹת שֶׁ֙בַע֙ יַֽעֲלוּ־ב֔וֹ *ואילמו **וְאֵֽילַמָּ֖יו לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  23 וְשַׁ֙עַר֙ לֶחָצֵ֣ר הַפְּנִימִ֔י נֶ֣גֶד הַשַּׁ֔עַר לַצָּפ֖וֹן וְלַקָּדִ֑ים וַיָּ֧מָד מִשַּׁ֛עַר אֶל־שַׁ֖עַר מֵאָ֥ה אַמָּֽה׃
  
  24 וַיּוֹלִכֵ֙נִי֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֔וֹם וְהִנֵּה־שַׁ֖עַר דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם וּמָדַ֤ד *אילו **אֵילָיו֙ *ואילמו **וְאֵ֣ילַמָּ֔יו כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
  
  25 וְחַלּוֹנִ֨ים ל֤וֹ *ולאילמו **וּלְאֵֽילַמָּיו֙ סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֔יב כְּהַחֲלֹּנ֖וֹת הָאֵ֑לֶּה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ אֹ֔רֶךְ וְרֹ֕חַב חָמֵ֥שׁ וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים אַמָּֽה׃
  
  26 וּמַעֲל֤וֹת שִׁבְעָה֙ *עלותו **עֹֽלוֹתָ֔יו *ואלמו **וְאֵֽלַמָּ֖יו לִפְנֵיהֶ֑ם וְתִמֹרִ֣ים ל֗וֹ אֶחָ֥ד מִפּ֛וֹ וְאֶחָ֥ד מִפּ֖וֹ אֶל־*אילו **אֵילָֽיו׃
  
  27 וְשַׁ֛עַר לֶחָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם וַיָּ֨מָד מִשַּׁ֧עַר אֶל־הַשַּׁ֛עַר דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַדָּר֖וֹם מֵאָ֥ה אַמּֽוֹת׃
  
  28 וַיְבִיאֵ֛נִי אֶל־חָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י בְּשַׁ֣עַר הַדָּר֑וֹם וַיָּ֙מָד֙ אֶת־הַשַּׁ֣עַר הַדָּר֔וֹם כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

  31 וְאֵלַמָּ֗ו אֶל־חָצֵר֙ הַחִ֣צוֹנָ֔ה וְתִמֹרִ֖ים אֶל־*אילו **אֵילָ֑יו וּמַעֲל֥וֹת שְׁמוֹנֶ֖ה *מעלו **מַעֲלָֽיו׃
  
  32 וַיְבִיאֵ֛נִי אֶל־הֶחָצֵ֥ר הַפְּנִימִ֖י דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַקָּדִ֑ים וַיָּ֣מָד אֶת־הַשַּׁ֔עַר כַּמִּדּ֖וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

  38 וְלִשְׁכָּ֣ה וּפִתְחָ֔הּ בְּאֵילִ֖ים הַשְּׁעָרִ֑ים שָׁ֖ם יָדִ֥יחוּ אֶת־הָעֹלָֽה׃
  
  39 וּבְאֻלָ֣ם הַשַּׁ֗עַר שְׁנַ֤יִם שֻׁלְחָנוֹת֙ מִפּ֔וֹ וּשְׁנַ֥יִם שֻׁלְחָנ֖וֹת מִפֹּ֑ה לִשְׁח֤וֹט אֲלֵיהֶם֙ הָעוֹלָ֔ה וְהַחַטָּ֖את וְהָאָשָֽׁם׃
  
  40 וְאֶל־הַכָּתֵ֣ף מִח֗וּצָה לָעוֹלֶה֙ לְפֶ֙תַח֙ הַשַּׁ֣עַר הַצָּפ֔וֹנָה שְׁנַ֖יִם שֻׁלְחָנ֑וֹת וְאֶל־הַכָּתֵ֣ף הָאַחֶ֗רֶת אֲשֶׁר֙ לְאֻלָ֣ם הַשַּׁ֔עַר שְׁנַ֖יִם שֻׁלְחָנֽוֹת׃
  
  41 אַרְבָּעָ֨ה שֻׁלְחָנ֜וֹת מִפֹּ֗ה וְאַרְבָּעָ֧ה שֻׁלְחָנ֛וֹת מִפֹּ֖ה לְכֶ֣תֶף הַשָּׁ֑עַר שְׁמוֹנָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנ֖וֹת אֲלֵיהֶ֥ם יִשְׁחָֽטוּ׃
  
  42 וְאַרְבָּעָה֩ שֻׁלְחָנ֨וֹת לָעוֹלָ֜ה אַבְנֵ֣י גָזִ֗ית אֹרֶךְ֩ אַמָּ֨ה אַחַ֤ת וָחֵ֙צִי֙ וְרֹ֨חַב אַמָּ֤ה אַחַת֙ וָחֵ֔צִי וְגֹ֖בַהּ אַמָּ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת אֲלֵיהֶ֗ם וְיַנִּ֤יחוּ אֶת־הַכֵּלִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִשְׁחֲט֧וּ אֶת־הָעוֹלָ֛ה בָּ֖ם וְהַזָּֽבַח׃
  
  43 וְהַֽשְׁפַתַּ֗יִם טֹ֧פַח אֶחָ֛ד מוּכָנִ֥ים בַּבַּ֖יִת סָבִ֣יב ׀ סָבִ֑יב וְאֶל־הַשֻּׁלְחָנ֖וֹת בְּשַׂ֥ר הַקָּרְבָֽן׃
  
  44 וּמִחוּצָה֩ לַשַּׁ֨עַר הַפְּנִימִ֜י לִֽשְׁכ֣וֹת שָׁרִ֗ים בֶּחָצֵ֤ר הַפְּנִימִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֗ר אֶל־כֶּ֙תֶף֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַצָּפ֔וֹן וּפְנֵיהֶ֖ם דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֑וֹם אֶחָ֗ד אֶל־כֶּ֙תֶף֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַקָּדִ֔ים פְּנֵ֖י דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַצָּפֹֽן׃
  
  45 וַיְדַבֵּ֖ר אֵלָ֑י זֹ֣ה הַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנֶ֙יהָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַדָּר֔וֹם לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֥רֶת הַבָּֽיִת׃
  
  46 וְהַלִּשְׁכָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר פָּנֶ֙יהָ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ הַצָּפ֔וֹן לַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים שֹׁמְרֵ֖י מִשְׁמֶ֣רֶת הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ הֵ֣מָּה בְנֵֽי־צָד֗וֹק הַקְּרֵבִ֧ים מִבְּנֵֽי־לֵוִ֛י אֶל־יְהוָ֖ה לְשָׁרְתֽוֹ׃

  1 Παῦλος καὶ Τιμόθεος δοῦλοι Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ πᾶσιν τοῖς ἁγίοις ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τοῖς οὖσιν ἐν Φιλίπποις σὺν ἐπισκόποις καὶ διακόνοις·
  
  2 χάρις ὑμῖν καὶ εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
  
  3 Εὐχαριστῶ τῷ θεῷ μου ἐπὶ πάσῃ τῇ μνείᾳ ὑμῶν
  
  4 πάντοτε ἐν πάσῃ δεήσει μου ὑπὲρ πάντων ὑμῶν, μετὰ χαρᾶς τὴν δέησιν ποιούμενος,
  
  5 ἐπὶ τῇ κοινωνίᾳ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸ εὐαγγέλιον ἀπὸ τῆς πρώτης ἡμέρας ἄχρι τοῦ νῦν,
  
  6 πεποιθὼς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ὅτι ὁ ἐναρξάμενος ἐν ὑμῖν ἔργον ἀγαθὸν ἐπιτελέσει ἄχρι ἡμέρας Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ·
  
  7 καθώς ἐστιν δίκαιον ἐμοὶ τοῦτο φρονεῖν ὑπὲρ πάντων ὑμῶν, διὰ τὸ ἔχειν με ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ ὑμᾶς, ἔν τε τοῖς δεσμοῖς μου καὶ ἐν τῇ ἀπολογίᾳ καὶ βεβαιώσει τοῦ εὐαγγελίου συγκοινωνούς μου τῆς χάριτος πάντας ὑμᾶς ὄντας·
  
  8 μάρτυς γάρ μου ὁ θεός, ὡς ἐπιποθῶ πάντας ὑμᾶς ἐν σπλάγχνοις Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ.
  
  9 καὶ τοῦτο προσεύχομαι ἵνα ἡ ἀγάπη ὑμῶν ἔτι μᾶλλον καὶ μᾶλλον περισσεύῃ ἐν ἐπιγνώσει καὶ πάσῃ αἰσθήσει,
  
  10 εἰς τὸ δοκιμάζειν ὑμᾶς τὰ διαφέροντα, ἵνα ἦτε εἰλικρινεῖς καὶ ἀπρόσκοποι εἰς ἡμέραν Χριστοῦ,
  
  11 πεπληρωμένοι καρπὸν δικαιοσύνης τὸν διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ εἰς δόξαν καὶ ἔπαινον θεοῦ.
  
  12 Γινώσκειν δὲ ὑμᾶς βούλομαι, ἀδελφοί, ὅτι τὰ κατ’ ἐμὲ μᾶλλον εἰς προκοπὴν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου ἐλήλυθεν,
  
  13 ὥστε τοὺς δεσμούς μου φανεροὺς ἐν Χριστῷ γενέσθαι ἐν ὅλῳ τῷ πραιτωρίῳ καὶ τοῖς λοιποῖς πᾶσιν,
  
  14 καὶ τοὺς πλείονας τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἐν κυρίῳ πεποιθότας τοῖς δεσμοῖς μου περισσοτέρως τολμᾶν ἀφόβως τὸν λόγον λαλεῖν.
  
  15 Τινὲς μὲν καὶ διὰ φθόνον καὶ ἔριν, τινὲς δὲ καὶ δι’ εὐδοκίαν τὸν Χριστὸν κηρύσσουσιν·
  
  16 οἱ μὲν ἐξ ἀγάπης, εἰδότες ὅτι εἰς ἀπολογίαν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου κεῖμαι,
  
  17 οἱ δὲ ἐξ ἐριθείας τὸν Χριστὸν καταγγέλλουσιν, οὐχ ἁγνῶς, οἰόμενοι θλῖψιν ἐγείρειν τοῖς δεσμοῖς μου.
  
  18 τί γάρ; πλὴν ὅτι παντὶ τρόπῳ, εἴτε προφάσει εἴτε ἀληθείᾳ, Χριστὸς καταγγέλλεται, καὶ ἐν τούτῳ χαίρω· ἀλλὰ καὶ χαρήσομαι,
  
  19 οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι τοῦτό μοι ἀποβήσεται εἰς σωτηρίαν διὰ τῆς ὑμῶν δεήσεως καὶ ἐπιχορηγίας τοῦ πνεύματος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ,
  
  20 κατὰ τὴν ἀποκαραδοκίαν καὶ ἐλπίδα μου ὅτι ἐν οὐδενὶ αἰσχυνθήσομαι, ἀλλ’ ἐν πάσῃ παρρησίᾳ ὡς πάντοτε καὶ νῦν μεγαλυνθήσεται Χριστὸς ἐν τῷ σώματί μου, εἴτε διὰ ζωῆς εἴτε διὰ θανάτου.
  
  21 ἐμοὶ γὰρ τὸ ζῆν Χριστὸς καὶ τὸ ἀποθανεῖν κέρδος.
  
  22 εἰ δὲ τὸ ζῆν ἐν σαρκί, τοῦτό μοι καρπὸς ἔργου — καὶ τί αἱρήσομαι οὐ γνωρίζω·
  
  23 συνέχομαι δὲ ἐκ τῶν δύο, τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν ἔχων εἰς τὸ ἀναλῦσαι καὶ σὺν Χριστῷ εἶναι, πολλῷ γὰρ μᾶλλον κρεῖσσον,
  
  24 τὸ δὲ ἐπιμένειν ἐν τῇ σαρκὶ ἀναγκαιότερον δι’ ὑμᾶς.
  
  25 καὶ τοῦτο πεποιθὼς οἶδα ὅτι μενῶ καὶ παραμενῶ πᾶσιν ὑμῖν εἰς τὴν ὑμῶν προκοπὴν καὶ χαρὰν τῆς πίστεως,
  
  26 ἵνα τὸ καύχημα ὑμῶν περισσεύῃ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ ἐν ἐμοὶ διὰ τῆς ἐμῆς παρουσίας πάλιν πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
  
  27 Μόνον ἀξίως τοῦ εὐαγγελίου τοῦ Χριστοῦ πολιτεύεσθε, ἵνα εἴτε ἐλθὼν καὶ ἰδὼν ὑμᾶς εἴτε ἀπὼν ἀκούω τὰ περὶ ὑμῶν, ὅτι στήκετε ἐν ἑνὶ πνεύματι, μιᾷ ψυχῇ συναθλοῦντες τῇ πίστει τοῦ εὐαγγελίου,
  
  28 καὶ μὴ πτυρόμενοι ἐν μηδενὶ ὑπὸ τῶν ἀντικειμένων (ἥτις ἐστὶν αὐτοῖς ἔνδειξις ἀπωλείας, ὑμῶν δὲ σωτηρίας, καὶ τοῦτο ἀπὸ θεοῦ,
  
  29 ὅτι ὑμῖν ἐχαρίσθη τὸ ὑπὲρ Χριστοῦ, οὐ μόνον τὸ εἰς αὐτὸν πιστεύειν ἀλλὰ καὶ τὸ ὑπὲρ αὐτοῦ πάσχειν),
