  1 Et Moab se rebella contre Israël, après la mort d'Achab.
  
  2 Et Achazia tomba par le treillis de sa chambre haute qui était à Samarie, et en fut malade. Et il envoya des messagers, et leur dit : Allez, consultez Baal-Zebub, dieu d'Ékron, pour savoir si je relèverai de cette maladie.
  
  3 Et l'ange de l'Éternel dit à Élie, le Thishbite : Lève-toi, monte à la rencontre des messagers du roi de Samarie, et dis-leur : Est-ce parce qu'il n'y a point de Dieu en Israël que vous allez consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d'Ékron ?
  
  4 Et c'est pourquoi, ainsi dit l'Éternel : Tu ne descendras pas du lit sur lequel tu es monté, car tu mourras certainement. Et Élie partit.
  
  5 Et les messagers revinrent vers Achazia, et il leur dit : Pourquoi revenez-vous ?
  
  6 Et ils lui dirent : Un homme est monté à notre rencontre, et nous a dit : Allez, retournez vers le roi qui vous a envoyés, et dites-lui : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Est-ce parce qu'il n'y a point de Dieu en Israël, que tu envoies consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d'Ékron ? C'est pourquoi tu ne descendras pas du lit sur lequel tu es monté ; car tu mourras certainement.
  
  7 Et il leur dit : Quelle manière d'homme était-ce, qui est monté à votre rencontre et vous a dit ces choses ?
  
  8 Et ils lui dirent : Un homme vêtu de poil, et ceint sur ses reins d'une ceinture de cuir. Et il dit : C'est Élie, le Thishbite.
  
  9 Et il envoya vers lui un chef de cinquantaine et sa cinquantaine ; et il monta vers lui. Et voici, il était assis au sommet d'une montagne. Et il lui dit : Homme de Dieu, le roi dit : Descends !
  
  10 Et Élie répondit et dit au chef de cinquantaine : Si je suis un homme de Dieu, que le feu descende des cieux et te dévore toi, et ta cinquantaine ! Et le feu descendit des cieux, et le dévora, lui et sa cinquantaine.
  
  11 Et Achazia envoya de nouveau vers lui un autre chef de cinquantaine, et sa cinquantaine. Et il prit la parole et lui dit : Homme de Dieu, ainsi dit le roi : Descends promptement !
  
  12 Et Élie répondit et leur dit : Si je suis un homme de Dieu, que le feu descende des cieux, et te dévore, toi et ta cinquantaine ! Et le feu de Dieu descendit des cieux, et le dévora, lui et sa cinquantaine.
  
  13 Et Achazia envoya de nouveau un chef d'une troisième cinquantaine, et sa cinquantaine. Et ce troisième chef de cinquantaine monta, et vint et se mit sur ses genoux devant Élie, et le supplia, et lui dit : Homme de Dieu, je te prie, que ma vie et les vies de ces cinquante hommes, tes serviteurs, soient précieuses à tes yeux.
  
  14 Voici, le feu est descendu des cieux et a dévoré les deux premiers chefs de cinquantaine et leurs cinquantaines : mais maintenant, que ma vie soit précieuse à tes yeux.
  
  15 Et l'ange de l'Éternel dit à Élie : Descends avec lui ; ne le crains pas. Et il se leva et descendit avec lui vers le roi.
  
  16 Et il lui dit : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : Puisque tu as envoyé des messagers pour consulter Baal-Zebub, dieu d'Ékron, est-ce parce qu'il n'y avait point de Dieu en Israël pour consulter sa parole ?... c'est pourquoi tu ne descendras pas du lit sur lequel tu es monté ; car tu mourras certainement.
  
  17 Et il mourut, selon la parole de l'Éternel qu'Élie avait prononcée. Et Joram régna à sa place, en la seconde année de Joram, fils de Josaphat, roi de Juda ; car il n'avait pas de fils.
  
  18 Et le reste des actes d'Achazia, ce qu'il fit, cela n'est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois d'Israël ?
  
  Daniel 5
  
  1 Le roi Belshatsar fit un grand festin à mille de ses grands, et but du vin devant les mille.
  
  2 Belshatsar, comme il buvait le vin, commanda d'apporter les vases d'or et d'argent que son père Nebucadnetsar avait tirés du temple qui était à Jérusalem, afin que le roi et ses grands, ses femmes et ses concubines, y bussent.
  
  3 Alors on apporta les vases d'or qu'on avait tirés du temple de la maison de Dieu, qui était à Jérusalem ; et le roi et ses grands, ses femmes et ses concubines, y burent.
  
  4 Ils burent du vin, et il louèrent les dieux d'or et d'argent, d'airain, de fer, de bois, et de pierre.
  
  5 En ce même moment, les doigt d'une main d'homme sortirent, et écrivirent, vis-à-vis du chandelier, sur le plâtre de la muraille du palais du roi ; et le roi vit l'extrémité de la main qui écrivait.
  
  6 Alors le roi changea de couleur, et ses pensées le troublèrent ; et les liens de ses reins se délièrent, et ses genoux se heurtèrent l'un contre l'autre.
  
  7 Le roi cria avec force d'amener les enchanteurs, les Chaldéens et les augures. Le roi prit la parole et dit aux sages de Babylone : Quiconque lira cette écriture et m'en indiquera l'interprétation sera revêtu de pourpre, et aura une chaîne d'or autour de son cou, et sera le troisième gouverneur dans le royaume.
  
  8 Alors arrivèrent tous les sages du roi, mais il ne purent lire l'écriture ni faire connaître au roi l'interprétation.
  
  9 Alors le roi Belshatsar fut extrêmement troublé, et il changea de couleur ; et ses grands furent bouleversés.
  
  10 La reine, à cause des paroles du roi et de ses grands, entra dans la maison du festin. La reine prit la parole et dit : O roi, vis à jamais ! Que tes pensées ne te troublent pas, et ne change pas de couleur :
  
  11 il y a un homme dans ton royaume, en qui est l'esprit des dieux saints ; et, aux jours de ton père, de la lumière, et de l'intelligence, et une sagesse comme la sagesse des dieux, ont été trouvées en lui ; et le roi Nebucadnetsar, ton père, -ton père, ô roi, l'a établi chef des devins, des enchanteurs, des Chaldéens, des augures,
  
  12 parce qu'un esprit extraordinaire, et la connaissance et l'intelligence pour interpréter les songes et pour expliquer les énigmes et pour résoudre les problèmes difficiles, ont été trouvés en lui, en Daniel, à qui le roi a donné le nom de Belteshatsar. Que Daniel soit donc appelé, et il indiquera l'interprétation.
  
  13 Alors Daniel fut introduit devant le roi. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel : Es-tu ce Daniel, l'un des fils de la captivité de Juda, que le roi, mon père, a amenés de Juda ?
  
  14 Et j'ai entendu dire de toi que l'esprit des dieux est en toi, et que de la lumière, et de l'intelligence, et une sagesse extraordinaire se trouvent en toi.
  
  15 Et maintenant, les sages, les enchanteurs, ont été amenés devant moi, afin qu'ils lussent cette écriture et m'en fissent connaître l'interprétation, et ils n'ont pu indiquer l'interprétation de la chose.
  
  16 Et j'ai entendu dire de toi que tu peux donner des interprétations et résoudre les problèmes difficiles. Maintenant, si tu peux lire l'écriture et m'en faire connaître l'interprétation, tu seras vêtu de pourpre, et tu auras une chaîne d'or autour de ton cou, et tu seras le troisième gouverneur dans le royaume.
  
  17 Alors Daniel répondit et dit devant le roi : Que tes présents te demeurent, et donne tes récompenses à un autre. Toutefois je lirai l'écriture au roi, et je lui en ferai connaître l'interprétation.
  
  18 O roi, le Dieu Très-haut donna à Nebucadnetsar, ton père, le royaume, et la grandeur, et l'honneur, et la majesté ;
  
  19 et, à cause de la grandeur qu'il lui donna, tous les peuples, les peuplades et les langues, tremblaient devant lui, et le craignaient ; il tuait qui il voulait, et il conservait en vie qui il voulait ; il exaltait qui il voulait, et il abaissait qui il voulait.
  
  20 Mais quand son coeur s'éleva et que son esprit s'endurcit jusqu'à l'orgueil, il fut précipité du trône de son royaume, et sa dignité lui fut ôtée ;
  
  21 et il fut chassé du milieu des fils des hommes, et son coeur fut rendu semblable à celui des bêtes, et sa demeure fut avec les ânes sauvages ; on le nourrit d'herbe comme les boeufs, et son corps fut baigné de la rosée des cieux, jusqu'à ce qu'il connut que le Dieu Très-haut domine sur le royaume des hommes, et qu'il y établit qui il veut.
  
  22 Et toi, son fils Belshatsar, tu n'as pas humilié ton coeur, bien que tu aies su tout cela.
  
  23 Mais tu t'es élevé contre le Seigneur des cieux ; et on a apporté devant toi les vases de sa maison, et toi et tes grands, tes femmes et tes concubines, vous y avez bu du vin ; et tu as loué les dieux d'argent et d'or, d'airain, de fer, de bois et de pierre, qui ne voient, et n'entendent, et ne comprennent point ; et le Dieu en la main duquel est ton souffle, et à qui appartiennent toutes tes voies, tu ne l'as pas glorifié.
  
  24 Alors a été envoyée de sa part l'extrémité de la main, et cette écriture a été tracée.
  
  25 Et voici l'écriture qui a été tracée : MENE, MENE, THEKEL, UPHARSIN !
  
  26 Voici l'interprétation des paroles. MENE : Dieu a compté ton royaume, et y a mis fin.
  
  27 THEKEL : Tu as été pesé à la balance, et tu as été trouvé manquant de poids.
  
  28 PERES : Ton royaume est divisé, et donné aux Mèdes et aux Perses.
  
  29 Alors Belshatsar donna des ordres, et on vêtit Daniel de pourpre, et on mit une chaîne d'or à son cou, et on proclama qu'il serait le troisième gouverneur dans le royaume.
  
  30 En cette nuit-là, Belshatsar, roi des Chaldéens, fut tué.
  
  31 Et Darius, le Mède, reçut le royaume, étant âgé d'environ soixante-deux ans.
  
  2 Thessaloniciens 1
  
  1 Paul, et Silvain, et Timothée, à l'assemblée des Thessaloniciens, en Dieu notre Père et dans le Seigneur Jésus Christ :
  
  2 Grâce et paix à vous, de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus Christ !
  
  3 Nous devons toujours rendre grâces à Dieu pour vous, frères, comme il est juste, parce que votre foi augmente beaucoup et que l'amour de chacun de vous tous,
  
  4 l'un pour l'autre, abonde, en sorte que nous-mêmes nous nous glorifions de vous dans les assemblées de Dieu au sujet de votre patience et de votre foi dans toutes vos persécutions et dans les tribulations que vous supportez,
  
  5 lesquelles sont une démonstration du juste jugement de Dieu, pour que vous soyez estimés dignes du royaume de Dieu pour lequel aussi vous souffrez ;
  
  6 si du moins c'est une chose juste devant Dieu que de rendre la tribulation à ceux qui vous font subir la tribulation,
  
  7 et que de vous donner, à vous qui subissez la tribulation, du repos avec nous dans la révélation du Seigneur Jésus du ciel avec les anges de sa puissance,
  
  8 en flammes de feu, exerçant la vengeance contre ceux qui ne connaissent pas Dieu, et contre ceux qui n'obéissent pas à l'évangile de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ ;
  
  9 lesquels subiront le châtiment d'une destruction éternelle de devant la présence du Seigneur et de devant la gloire de sa force,
  
  10 quand il viendra pour être, dans ce jour-là, glorifié dans ses saints et admiré dans tous ceux qui auront cru, car notre témoignage envers vous a été cru.
  
  11 C'est pour cela que nous prions aussi toujours pour vous, que notre Dieu vous juge dignes de l'appel, et qu'il accomplisse tout le bon plaisir de sa bonté et l'oeuvre de la foi en puissance,
  
  12 en sorte que le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ soit glorifié en vous, et vous en lui, selon la grâce de notre Dieu et du Seigneur Jésus Christ.

  1 Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
  
  2 Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, "Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover of this sickness."
  
  3 But the angel of Yahweh said to Elijah the Tishbite, "Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?
  
  4 Now therefore thus says Yahweh, "You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die."'" Elijah departed.
  
  5 The messengers returned to him, and he said to them, "Why is it that you have returned?"
  
  6 They said to him, "A man came up to meet us, and said to us, 'Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"'"
  
  7 He said to them, "What kind of man was he who came up to meet you, and told you these words?"
  
  8 They answered him, "He was a hairy man, and wearing a leather belt around his waist." He said, "It is Elijah the Tishbite."
  
  9 Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, "Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down!'"
  
  10 Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!" Fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
  
  11 Again he sent to him another captain of fifty and his fifty. He answered him, "Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down quickly!'"
  
  12 Elijah answered them, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!" The fire of God came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
  
  13 Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, "Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.
  
  14 Behold, fire came down from the sky, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight."
  
  15 The angel of Yahweh said to Elijah, "Go down with him. Don't be afraid of him." He arose, and went down with him to the king.
  
  16 He said to him, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"
  
  17 So he died according to the word of Yahweh which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
  
  18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  
  Daniel 5
  
  1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
  
  2 Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them.
  
  3 Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of God's house which was at Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, drank from them.
  
  4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
  
  5 In the same hour came forth the fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
  
  6 Then the king's face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and his knees struck one against another.
  
  7 The king cried aloud to bring in the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever shall read this writing, and show me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
  
  8 Then came in all the king's wise men; but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation.
  
  9 Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his face was changed in him, and his lords were perplexed.
  
  10 [Now] the queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house: the queen spoke and said, O king, live forever; don't let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed.
  
  11 There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and the king Nebuchadnezzar your father, the king, [I say], your father, made him master of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
  
  12 because an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of dark sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.
  
  13 Then was Daniel brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, Are you that Daniel, who are of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?
  
  14 I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.
  
  15 Now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known to me its interpretation; but they could not show the interpretation of the thing.
  
  16 But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations, and dissolve doubts; now if you can read the writing, and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
  
  17 Then Daniel answered before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another; nevertheless I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
  
  18 You, king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty:
  
  19 and because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he killed, and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he raised up, and whom he would he put down.
  
  20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
  
  21 and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the animals', and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys; he was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky; until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whomever he will.
  
  22 You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
  
  23 but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which don't see, nor hear, nor know; and the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways, you have not glorified.
  
  24 Then was the part of the hand sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
  
  25 This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
  
  26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has numbered your kingdom, and brought it to an end;
  
  27 TEKEL; you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.
  
  28 PERES; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
  
  29 Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
  
  30 In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.
  
  31 Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.
  
  2 Thessaloniciens 1
  
  1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ:
  
  2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
  
  3 We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you towards one another abounds;
  
  4 so that we ourselves boast about you in the assemblies of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions which you endure.
  
  5 This is an obvious sign of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that you may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which you also suffer.
  
  6 Since it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict you,
  
  7 and to give relief to you who are afflicted with us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire,
  
  8 giving vengeance to those who don't know God, and to those who don't obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus,
  
  9 who will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his might,
  
  10 when he comes to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired among all those who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed) in that day.
  
  11 To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith, with power;
  
  12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

  1 וַיִּפְשַׁ֤ע מוֹאָב֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַחֲרֵ֖י מ֥וֹת אַחְאָֽב׃
  
  2 וַיִּפֹּ֨ל אֲחַזְיָ֜ה בְּעַ֣ד הַשְּׂבָכָ֗ה בַּעֲלִיָּת֛וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּשֹׁמְר֖וֹן וַיָּ֑חַל וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח מַלְאָכִ֔ים וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ לְכ֣וּ דִרְשׁ֗וּ בְּבַ֤עַל זְבוּב֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י עֶקְר֔וֹן אִם־אֶחְיֶ֖ה מֵחֳלִ֥י זֶֽה׃
  
  3 וּמַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהוָ֗ה דִּבֶּר֙ אֶל־אֵלִיָּ֣ה הַתִּשְׁבִּ֔י ק֣וּם עֲלֵ֔ה לִקְרַ֖את מַלְאֲכֵ֣י מֶֽלֶךְ־שֹׁמְר֑וֹן וְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַתֶּם֙ הֹֽלְכִ֔ים לִדְרֹ֕שׁ בְּבַ֥עַל זְב֖וּב אֱלֹהֵ֥י עֶקְרֽוֹן׃
  
  4 וְלָכֵן֙ כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הַמִּטָּ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־עָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם לֹֽא־תֵרֵ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נָּה כִּ֣י מ֣וֹת תָּמ֑וּת וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ אֵלִיָּֽה׃
  
  5 וַיָּשׁ֥וּבוּ הַמַּלְאָכִ֖ים אֵלָ֑יו וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם מַה־זֶּ֥ה שַׁבְתֶּֽם׃
  
  6 וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֵלָ֜יו אִ֣ישׁ ׀ עָלָ֣ה לִקְרָאתֵ֗נוּ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֵינוּ֮ לְכ֣וּ שׁוּבוּ֮ אֶל־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֣ח אֶתְכֶם֒ וְדִבַּרְתֶּ֣ם אֵלָ֗יו כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַתָּ֣ה שֹׁלֵ֔חַ לִדְרֹ֕שׁ בְּבַ֥עַל זְב֖וּב אֱלֹהֵ֣י עֶקְר֑וֹן לָ֠כֵן הַמִּטָּ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־עָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם לֹֽא־תֵרֵ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נָּה כִּֽי־מ֥וֹת תָּמֽוּת׃
  
  7 וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם מֶ֚ה מִשְׁפַּ֣ט הָאִ֔ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָלָ֖ה לִקְרַאתְכֶ֑ם וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃
  
  8 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו אִ֚ישׁ בַּ֣עַל שֵׂעָ֔ר וְאֵז֥וֹר ע֖וֹר אָז֣וּר בְּמָתְנָ֑יו וַיֹּאמַ֕ר אֵלִיָּ֥ה הַתִּשְׁבִּ֖י הֽוּא׃
  
  9 וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלָ֛יו שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑יו וַיַּ֣עַל אֵלָ֗יו וְהִנֵּה֙ יֹשֵׁב֙ עַל־רֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֔ר וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו אִ֚ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ דִּבֶּ֖ר רֵֽדָה׃
  
  10 וַיַּעֲנֶ֣ה אֵלִיָּ֗הוּ וַיְדַבֵּר֮ אֶל־שַׂ֣ר הַחֲמִשִּׁים֒ וְאִם־אִ֤ישׁ אֱלֹהִים֙ אָ֔נִי תֵּ֤רֶד אֵשׁ֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְתֹאכַ֥ל אֹתְךָ֖ וְאֶת־חֲמִשֶּׁ֑יךָ וַתֵּ֤רֶד אֵשׁ֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַתֹּ֥אכַל אֹת֖וֹ וְאֶת־חֲמִשָּֽׁיו׃
  
  11 וַיָּ֜שָׁב וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח אֵלָ֛יו שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים אַחֵ֖ר וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑יו וַיַּ֙עַן֙ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו אִ֚ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥ר הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מְהֵרָ֥ה רֵֽדָה׃
  
  12 וַיַּ֣עַן אֵלִיָּה֮ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵיהֶם֒ אִם־אִ֤ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אָ֔נִי תֵּ֤רֶד אֵשׁ֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְתֹאכַ֥ל אֹתְךָ֖ וְאֶת־חֲמִשֶּׁ֑יךָ וַתֵּ֤רֶד אֵשׁ־אֱלֹהִים֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַתֹּ֥אכַל אֹת֖וֹ וְאֶת־חֲמִשָּֽׁיו׃
  
  13 וַיָּ֗שָׁב וַיִּשְׁלַ֛ח שַׂר־חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שְׁלִשִׁ֖ים וַחֲמִשָּׁ֑יו וַיַּ֡עַל וַיָּבֹא֩ שַׂר־הַחֲמִשִּׁ֨ים הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י וַיִּכְרַ֥ע עַל־בִּרְכָּ֣יו ׀ לְנֶ֣גֶד אֵלִיָּ֗הוּ וַיִּתְחַנֵּ֤ן אֵלָיו֙ וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו אִ֚ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים תִּֽיקַר־נָ֣א נַפְשִׁ֗י וְנֶ֨פֶשׁ עֲבָדֶ֥יךָֽ אֵ֛לֶּה חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃
  
  14 הִ֠נֵּה יָ֤רְדָה אֵשׁ֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַ֠תֹּאכַל אֶת־שְׁנֵ֞י שָׂרֵ֧י הַחֲמִשִּׁ֛ים הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים וְאֶת־חֲמִשֵּׁיהֶ֑ם וְעַתָּ֕ה תִּיקַ֥ר נַפְשִׁ֖י בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃
  
  15 וַיְדַבֵּ֞ר מַלְאַ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ אֶל־אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ רֵ֣ד אוֹת֔וֹ אַל־תִּירָ֖א מִפָּנָ֑יו וַיָּ֛קָם וַיֵּ֥רֶד אוֹת֖וֹ אֶל־הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
  
  16 וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר אֵלָ֜יו כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה יַ֜עַן אֲשֶׁר־שָׁלַ֣חְתָּ מַלְאָכִים֮ לִדְרֹשׁ֮ בְּבַ֣עַל זְבוּב֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י עֶקְרוֹן֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִדְרֹ֖שׁ בִּדְבָר֑וֹ לָ֠כֵן הַמִּטָּ֞ה אֲשֶׁר־עָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם לֹֽא־תֵרֵ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נָּה כִּֽי־מ֥וֹת תָּמֽוּת׃
  
  17 וַיָּ֜מָת כִּדְבַ֥ר יְהוָ֣ה ׀ אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֣ר אֵלִיָּ֗הוּ וַיִּמְלֹ֤ךְ יְהוֹרָם֙ תַּחְתָּ֔יו פבִּשְׁנַ֣ת שְׁתַּ֔יִם לִיהוֹרָ֥ם בֶּן־יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה כִּ֛י לֹֽא־הָ֥יָה ל֖וֹ בֵּֽן׃
  
  18 וְיֶ֛תֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י אֲחַזְיָ֖הוּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה הֲלֽוֹא־הֵ֣מָּה כְתוּבִ֗ים עַל־סֵ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י הַיָּמִ֖ים לְמַלְכֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

  1 בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֗א עֲבַד֙ לְחֶ֣ם רַ֔ב לְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי אֲלַ֑ף וְלָקֳבֵ֥ל אַלְפָּ֖א חַמְרָ֥א שָׁתֵֽה׃
  
  2 בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֞ר אֲמַ֣ר ׀ בִּטְעֵ֣ם חַמְרָ֗א לְהַיְתָיָה֙ לְמָאנֵי֙ דַּהֲבָ֣א וְכַסְפָּ֔א דִּ֤י הַנְפֵּק֙ נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר אֲב֔וּהִי מִן־הֵיכְלָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְיִשְׁתּ֣וֹן בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃
  
  3 בֵּאדַ֗יִן הַיְתִיו֙ מָאנֵ֣י דַהֲבָ֔א דִּ֣י הַנְפִּ֗קוּ מִן־הֵֽיכְלָ֛א דִּֽי־בֵ֥ית אֱלָהָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירֽוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְאִשְׁתִּ֣יו בְּה֗וֹן מַלְכָּא֙ וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי שֵׁגְלָתֵ֖הּ וּלְחֵנָתֵֽהּ׃
  
  4 אִשְׁתִּ֖יו חַמְרָ֑א וְ֠שַׁבַּחוּ לֵֽאלָהֵ֞י דַּהֲבָ֧א וְכַסְפָּ֛א נְחָשָׁ֥א פַרְזְלָ֖א אָעָ֥א וְאַבְנָֽא׃
  
  5 בַּהּ־שַׁעֲתָ֗ה *נפקו **נְפַ֙קָה֙ אֶצְבְּעָן֙ דִּ֣י יַד־אֱנָ֔שׁ וְכָֽתְבָן֙ לָקֳבֵ֣ל נֶבְרַשְׁתָּ֔א עַל־גִּירָ֕א דִּֽי־כְתַ֥ל הֵיכְלָ֖א דִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וּמַלְכָּ֣א חָזֵ֔ה פַּ֥ס יְדָ֖ה דִּ֥י כָתְבָֽה׃
  
  6 אֱדַ֤יִן מַלְכָּא֙ זִיוֺ֣הִי שְׁנ֔וֹהִי וְרַעיֹנֹ֖הִי יְבַהֲלוּנֵּ֑הּ וְקִטְרֵ֤י חַרְצֵהּ֙ מִשְׁתָּרַ֔יִן וְאַ֨רְכֻבָּתֵ֔הּ דָּ֥א לְדָ֖א נָֽקְשָֽׁן׃
  
  7 קָרֵ֤א מַלְכָּא֙ בְּחַ֔יִל לְהֶֽעָלָה֙ לְאָ֣שְׁפַיָּ֔א *כשדיא **כַּשְׂדָּאֵ֖י וְגָזְרַיָּ֑א עָנֵ֨ה מַלְכָּ֜א וְאָמַ֣ר ׀ לְחַכִּימֵ֣י בָבֶ֗ל דִּ֣י כָל־אֱ֠נָשׁ דִּֽי־יִקְרֵ֞ה כְּתָבָ֣ה דְנָ֗ה וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ יְחַוִּנַּ֔נִי אַרְגְּוָנָ֣א יִלְבַּ֗שׁ *והמונכא **וְהַֽמְנִיכָ֤א דִֽי־דַהֲבָא֙ עַֽל־צַוְּארֵ֔הּ וְתַלְתִּ֥י בְמַלְכוּתָ֖א יִשְׁלַֽט׃
  
  8 אֱדַ֙יִן֙ *עללין **עָֽלִּ֔ין כֹּ֖ל חַכִּימֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֑א וְלָֽא־כָהֲלִ֤ין כְּתָבָא֙ לְמִקְרֵ֔א *ופשרא **וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ לְהוֹדָעָ֥ה לְמַלְכָּֽא׃
  
  9 אֱ֠דַיִן מַלְכָּ֤א בֵלְשַׁאצַּר֙ שַׂגִּ֣יא מִתְבָּהַ֔ל וְזִיוֺ֖הִי שָׁנַ֣יִן עֲל֑וֹהִי וְרַבְרְבָנ֖וֹהִי מִֽשְׁתַּבְּשִֽׁין׃
  
  10 מַלְכְּתָ֕א לָקֳבֵ֨ל מִלֵּ֤י מַלְכָּא֙ וְרַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי לְבֵ֥ית מִשְׁתְּיָ֖א *עללת **עַלַּ֑ת עֲנָ֨ת מַלְכְּתָ֜א וַאֲמֶ֗רֶת מַלְכָּא֙ לְעָלְמִ֣ין חֱיִ֔י אַֽל־יְבַהֲלוּךְ֙ רַעְיוֹנָ֔ךְ וְזִיוָ֖יךְ אַל־יִשְׁתַּנּֽוֹ׃
  
  11 אִיתַ֨י גְּבַ֜ר בְּמַלְכוּתָ֗ךְ דִּ֠י ר֣וּחַ אֱלָהִ֣ין קַדִּישִׁין֮ בֵּהּ֒ וּבְיוֹמֵ֣י אֲב֗וּךְ נַהִיר֧וּ וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֛וּ וְחָכְמָ֥ה כְּחָכְמַת־אֱלָהִ֖ין הִשְׁתְּכַ֣חַת בֵּ֑הּ וּמַלְכָּ֤א נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּר֙ אֲב֔וּךְ רַ֧ב חַרְטֻמִּ֣ין אָֽשְׁפִ֗ין כַּשְׂדָּאִין֙ גָּזְרִ֔ין הֲקִימֵ֖הּ אֲב֥וּךְ מַלְכָּֽא׃
  
  12 כָּל־קֳבֵ֡ל דִּ֣י ר֣וּחַ ׀ יַתִּירָ֡ה וּמַנְדַּ֡ע וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֡וּ מְפַשַּׁ֣ר חֶלְמִין֩ וַֽאַֽחֲוָיַ֨ת אֲחִידָ֜ן וּמְשָׁרֵ֣א קִטְרִ֗ין הִשְׁתְּכַ֤חַת בֵּהּ֙ בְּדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל דִּֽי־מַלְכָּ֥א שָׂם־שְׁמֵ֖הּ בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑ר כְּעַ֛ן דָּנִיֵּ֥אל יִתְקְרֵ֖י וּפִשְׁרָ֥ה יְהַֽחֲוֵֽה׃
  
  13 בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל הֻעַ֖ל קֳדָ֣ם מַלְכָּ֑א עָנֵ֨ה מַלְכָּ֜א וְאָמַ֣ר לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל *אנתה־**אַנְתְּ־ה֤וּא דָנִיֵּאל֙ דִּֽי־מִן־בְּנֵ֤י גָלוּתָא֙ דִּ֣י יְה֔וּד דִּ֥י הַיְתִ֛י מַלְכָּ֥א אַ֖בִי מִן־יְהֽוּד׃
  
  14 וְשִׁמְעֵ֣ת *עליך **עֲלָ֔ךְ דִּ֛י ר֥וּחַ אֱלָהִ֖ין בָּ֑ךְ וְנַהִיר֧וּ וְשָׂכְלְתָנ֛וּ וְחָכְמָ֥ה יַתִּירָ֖ה הִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַת בָּֽךְ׃
  
  15 וּכְעַ֞ן הֻעַ֣לּוּ קָֽדָמַ֗י חַכִּֽימַיָּא֙ אָֽשְׁפַיָּ֔א דִּֽי־כְתָבָ֤ה דְנָה֙ יִקְר֔וֹן וּפִשְׁרֵ֖הּ לְהוֹדָעֻתַ֑נִי וְלָֽא־כָהֲלִ֥ין פְּשַֽׁר־מִלְּתָ֖א לְהַחֲוָיָֽה׃
  
  16 וַאֲנָה֙ שִׁמְעֵ֣ת *עליך **עֲלָ֔ךְ דִּֽי־*תוכל **תִיכּ֥וּל פִּשְׁרִ֛ין לְמִפְשַׁ֖ר וְקִטְרִ֣ין לְמִשְׁרֵ֑א כְּעַ֡ן הֵן֩ *תוכל **תִּכ֨וּל כְּתָבָ֜א לְמִקְרֵ֗א וּפִשְׁרֵהּ֙ לְהוֹדָ֣עֻתַ֔נִי אַרְגְּוָנָ֣א תִלְבַּ֗שׁ *והמונכא **וְהַֽמְנִיכָ֤א דִֽי־דַהֲבָא֙ עַֽל־צַוְּארָ֔ךְ וְתַלְתָּ֥א בְמַלְכוּתָ֖א תִּשְׁלַֽט׃
  
  17 בֵּאדַ֜יִן עָנֵ֣ה דָנִיֵּ֗אל וְאָמַר֙ קֳדָ֣ם מַלְכָּ֔א מַתְּנָתָךְ֙ לָ֣ךְ לֶֽהֶוְיָ֔ן וּנְבָ֥זְבְּיָתָ֖ךְ לְאָחֳרָ֣ן הַ֑ב בְּרַ֗ם כְּתָבָא֙ אֶקְרֵ֣א לְמַלְכָּ֔א וּפִשְׁרָ֖א אֲהוֹדְעִנֵּֽהּ׃
  
  18 *אנתה **אַ֖נְתְּ מַלְכָּ֑א אֱלָהָא֙ *עליא **עִלָּאָ֔ה מַלְכוּתָ֤א וּרְבוּתָא֙ וִיקָרָ֣א וְהַדְרָ֔ה יְהַ֖ב לִנְבֻכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר אֲבֽוּךְ׃
  
  19 וּמִן־רְבוּתָא֙ דִּ֣י יְהַב־לֵ֔הּ כֹּ֣ל עַֽמְמַיָּ֗א אֻמַיָּא֙ וְלִשָּׁ֣נַיָּ֔א הֲו֛וֹ *זאעין **זָיְעִ֥ין וְדָחֲלִ֖ין מִן־קֳדָמ֑וֹהִי דִּֽי־הֲוָ֨ה צָבֵ֜א הֲוָ֣א קָטֵ֗ל וְדִֽי־הֲוָ֤ה צָבֵא֙ הֲוָ֣ה מַחֵ֔א וְדִֽי־הֲוָ֤ה צָבֵא֙ הֲוָ֣ה מָרִ֔ים וְדִֽי־הֲוָ֥ה צָבֵ֖א הֲוָ֥ה מַשְׁפִּֽיל׃
  
  20 וּכְדִי֙ רִ֣ם לִבְבֵ֔הּ וְרוּחֵ֖הּ תִּֽקְפַ֣ת לַהֲזָדָ֑ה הָנְחַת֙ מִן־כָּרְסֵ֣א מַלְכוּתֵ֔הּ וִֽיקָרָ֖ה הֶעְדִּ֥יוּ מִנֵּֽהּ׃
  
  21 וּמִן־בְּנֵי֩ אֲנָשָׁ֨א טְרִ֜יד וְלִבְבֵ֣הּ ׀ עִם־חֵיוְתָ֣א *שוי **שַׁוִּ֗יְו וְעִם־עֲרָֽדַיָּא֙ מְדוֹרֵ֔הּ עִשְׂבָּ֤א כְתוֹרִין֙ יְטַ֣עֲמוּנֵּ֔הּ וּמִטַּ֥ל שְׁמַיָּ֖א גִּשְׁמֵ֣הּ יִצְטַבַּ֑ע עַ֣ד דִּֽי־יְדַ֗ע דִּֽי־שַׁלִּ֞יט אֱלָהָ֤א *עליא **עִלָּאָה֙ בְּמַלְכ֣וּת אֲנָשָׁ֔א וּלְמַן־דִּ֥י יִצְבֵּ֖ה יְהָקֵ֥ים *עליה **עֲלַֽהּ׃
  
  22 *ואנתה **וְאַ֤נְתְּ בְּרֵהּ֙ בֵּלְשַׁאצַּ֔ר לָ֥א הַשְׁפֵּ֖לְתְּ לִבְבָ֑ךְ כָּל־קֳבֵ֕ל דִּ֥י כָל־דְּנָ֖ה יְדַֽעְתָּ׃
  
  23 וְעַ֣ל מָרֵֽא־שְׁמַיָּ֣א ׀ הִתְרוֹמַ֡מְתָּ וּלְמָֽאנַיָּ֨א דִֽי־בַיְתֵ֜הּ הַיְתִ֣יו *קדמיך **קָֽדָמָ֗ךְ *ואנתה **וְאַ֨נְתְּ *ורברבניך **וְרַבְרְבָנָ֜ךְ שֵֽׁגְלָתָ֣ךְ וּלְחֵנָתָךְ֮ חַמְרָא֮ שָׁתַ֣יִן בְּהוֹן֒ וְלֵֽאלָהֵ֣י כַסְפָּֽא־וְ֠דַהֲבָא נְחָשָׁ֨א פַרְזְלָ֜א אָעָ֣א וְאַבְנָ֗א דִּ֠י לָֽא־חָזַ֧יִן וְלָא־שָׁמְעִ֛ין וְלָ֥א יָדְעִ֖ין שַׁבַּ֑חְתָּ וְלֵֽאלָהָ֞א דִּֽי־נִשְׁמְתָ֥ךְ בִּידֵ֛הּ וְכָל־אֹרְחָתָ֥ךְ לֵ֖הּ לָ֥א הַדַּֽרְתָּ׃
  
  24 בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ מִן־קֳדָמ֔וֹהִי שְׁלִ֖יַחַ פַּסָּ֣א דִֽי־יְדָ֑א וּכְתָבָ֥א דְנָ֖ה רְשִֽׁים׃
  
  25 וּדְנָ֥ה כְתָבָ֖א דִּ֣י רְשִׁ֑ים מְנֵ֥א מְנֵ֖א תְּקֵ֥ל וּפַרְסִֽין׃
  
  26 דְּנָ֖ה פְּשַֽׁר־מִלְּתָ֑א מְנֵ֕א מְנָֽה־אֱלָהָ֥א מַלְכוּתָ֖ךְ וְהַשְׁלְמַֽהּ׃
  
  27 תְּקֵ֑ל תְּקִ֥ילְתָּה בְמֹֽאזַנְיָ֖א וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֥חַתְּ חַסִּֽיר׃
  
  28 פְּרֵ֑ס פְּרִיסַת֙ מַלְכוּתָ֔ךְ וִיהִיבַ֖ת לְמָדַ֥י וּפָרָֽס׃

  3 Εὐχαριστεῖν ὀφείλομεν τῷ θεῷ πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοί, καθὼς ἄξιόν ἐστιν, ὅτι ὑπεραυξάνει ἡ πίστις ὑμῶν καὶ πλεονάζει ἡ ἀγάπη ἑνὸς ἑκάστου πάντων ὑμῶν εἰς ἀλλήλους,
  
  4 ὥστε αὐτοὺς ἡμᾶς ἐν ὑμῖν ἐγκαυχᾶσθαι ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τοῦ θεοῦ ὑπὲρ τῆς ὑπομονῆς ὑμῶν καὶ πίστεως ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς διωγμοῖς ὑμῶν καὶ ταῖς θλίψεσιν αἷς ἀνέχεσθε,
  
  5 ἔνδειγμα τῆς δικαίας κρίσεως τοῦ θεοῦ, εἰς τὸ καταξιωθῆναι ὑμᾶς τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ θεοῦ, ὑπὲρ ἧς καὶ πάσχετε,
  
  6 εἴπερ δίκαιον παρὰ θεῷ ἀνταποδοῦναι τοῖς θλίβουσιν ὑμᾶς θλῖψιν
  
  7 καὶ ὑμῖν τοῖς θλιβομένοις ἄνεσιν μεθ’ ἡμῶν ἐν τῇ ἀποκαλύψει τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ μετ’ ἀγγέλων δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ
  
  8 ἐν φλογὶ πυρός, διδόντος ἐκδίκησιν τοῖς μὴ εἰδόσι θεὸν καὶ τοῖς μὴ ὑπακούουσιν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ,
  
  9 οἵτινες δίκην τίσουσιν ὄλεθρον αἰώνιον ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ κυρίου καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς δόξης τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ,
  
  10 ὅταν ἔλθῃ ἐνδοξασθῆναι ἐν τοῖς ἁγίοις αὐτοῦ καὶ θαυμασθῆναι ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς πιστεύσασιν, ὅτι ἐπιστεύθη τὸ μαρτύριον ἡμῶν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
  
  11 εἰς ὃ καὶ προσευχόμεθα πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἵνα ὑμᾶς ἀξιώσῃ τῆς κλήσεως ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν καὶ πληρώσῃ πᾶσαν εὐδοκίαν ἀγαθωσύνης καὶ ἔργον πίστεως ἐν δυνάμει,
  
  12 ὅπως ἐνδοξασθῇ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ ἐν ὑμῖν, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν αὐτῷ, κατὰ τὴν χάριν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
