- 2 Rois 2
  
  1 Et il arriva que, lorsque l'Éternel fit monter Élie aux cieux dans un tourbillon, Élie et Élisée partirent de Guilgal.
  
  2 Et Élie dit à Élisée : Reste ici, je te prie ; car l'Éternel m'envoie jusqu'à Béthel. Et Élisée dit : L'Éternel est vivant, et ton âme est vivante, que je ne te laisserai point. Et ils descendirent à Béthel.
  
  3 Et les fils des prophètes qui étaient à Béthel sortirent vers Élisée, et lui dirent : Sais-tu qu'aujourd'hui l'Éternel va enlever ton maître d'au-dessus de ta tête ? Et il dit : Je le sais, moi aussi ; taisez-vous.
  
  4 Et Élie lui dit : Élisée, je te prie, reste ici ; car l'Éternel m'envoie à Jéricho. Et il dit : L'Éternel est vivant, et ton âme est vivante, que je ne te laisserai point.
  
  5 Et ils s'en vinrent à Jéricho. Et les fils des prophètes qui étaient à Jéricho s'approchèrent d'Élisée, et lui dirent : Sais-tu qu'aujourd'hui l'Éternel va enlever ton maître d'au-dessus de ta tête ? Et il dit : Je le sais, moi aussi ; taisez-vous.
  
  6 Et Élie lui dit : Reste ici, je te prie ; car l'Éternel m'envoie au Jourdain. Et il dit : L'Éternel est vivant, et ton âme est vivante, que je ne te laisserai point. Et ils s'en allèrent eux deux.
  
  7 Et cinquante hommes d'entre les fils des prophètes allèrent et se tinrent vis-à-vis, à distance ; et eux deux se tinrent auprès du Jourdain.
  
  8 Et Élie prit son manteau, et le plia, et frappa les eaux, et elles se divisèrent deçà et delà ; et ils passèrent eux deux à sec.
  
  9 Et il arriva, quand ils eurent passé, qu'Élie dit à Élisée : Demande ce que je ferai pour toi avant que je sois enlevé d'avec toi. Et Élisée dit : Qu'il y ait, je te prie, une double mesure de ton esprit sur moi.
  
  10 Et il dit : Tu as demandé une chose difficile ; si tu me vois quand je serai enlevé d'avec toi, il en sera ainsi pour toi ; sinon, cela ne sera pas.
  
  11 Et il arriva comme ils allaient marchant et parlant, que voici un char de feu et des chevaux de feu ; et ils les séparèrent l'un de l'autre ; et Élie monta aux cieux dans un tourbillon.
  
  12 Et Élisée le vit, et s'écria : Mon père ! mon père ! Char d'Israël et sa cavalerie ! Et il ne le vit plus. Et il saisit ses vêtements et les déchira en deux pièces ;
  
  13 et il releva le manteau d'Élie qui était tombé de dessus lui, et s'en retourna, et se tint sur le bord du Jourdain ;
  
  14 et il prit le manteau d'Élie qui était tombé de dessus lui, et frappa les eaux, et dit : Où est l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Élie ? -Lui aussi frappa les eaux, et elles se divisèrent deçà et delà ; et Élisée passa.
  
  15 Et les fils des prophètes qui étaient à Jéricho, vis-à-vis, le virent, et ils dirent : L'esprit d'Élie repose sur Élisée. Et ils allèrent à sa rencontre, et se prosternèrent devant lui en terre, et lui dirent :
  
  16 Voici, il y a avec tes serviteurs cinquante hommes, des hommes vaillants ; qu'ils aillent, nous te prions, et qu'ils cherchent ton maître : l'Esprit de l'Éternel l'aura peut-être emporté et l'aura jeté sur quelque montagne ou dans quelque vallée. Et il dit : N'y envoyez pas.
  
  17 Et ils le pressèrent jusqu'à ce qu'il en fut honteux. Et il leur dit : Envoyez. Et ils envoyèrent cinquante hommes ; et ils cherchèrent trois jours, et ne le trouvèrent pas.
  
  18 Et ils retournèrent vers Élisée (il habitait à Jéricho) ; et il leur dit : Ne vous avais-je pas dit : N'y allez pas ?
  
  19 Et les hommes de la ville dirent à Élisée : Tu vois que l'emplacement de la ville est bon, comme mon seigneur le voit ; mais les eaux sont mauvaises, et la terre est stérile.
  
  20 Et il dit : Apportez-moi un vase neuf, et mettez-y du sel. Et ils le lui apportèrent.
  
  21 Et il sortit vers le lieu d'où sortaient les eaux, et y jeta le sel, et dit : Ainsi dit l'Éternel : J'ai assaini ces eaux ; il ne proviendra plus d'ici ni mort ni stérilité.
  
  22 Et les eaux furent assainies jusqu'à ce jour, selon la parole qu'Élisée avait prononcée.
  
  23 Et il monta de là à Béthel ; et, comme il montait par le chemin, des petits garçons sortirent de la ville, et se moquèrent de lui, et lui dirent : Monte, chauve ! monte, chauve !
  
  24 Et il se tourna en arrière et les vit, et il les maudit au nom de l'Éternel. Et deux ourses sortirent de la forêt, et déchirèrent d'entre-eux quarante-deux enfants.
  
  25 Et, de là, il se rendit à la montagne de Carmel, d'où il s'en retourna à Samarie.
  
  Daniel 6
  
  1 Il plut à Darius d'établir sur le royaume cent vingt satrapes, pour qu'ils fussent dans tout le royaume ;
  
  2 et au-dessus d'eux, trois présidents, dont Daniel était l'un, pour que ces satrapes leur rendissent compte, et que le roi ne souffrît aucun dommage.
  
  3 Et ce Daniel surpassa les présidents et les satrapes, parce qu'il y avait en lui un esprit extraordinaire ; et le roi pensa à l'établir sur tout le royaume.
  
  4 Alors les présidents et les satrapes cherchèrent à trouver dans l'administration du royaume quelque sujet d'accusation contre Daniel ; et ils ne pouvaient trouver aucun sujet d'accusation ni aucune faute, parce qu'il était fidèle ; et aucun manquement ni aucune faute ne se trouva en lui.
  
  5 Et ces hommes dirent : Nous ne trouverons dans ce Daniel aucun sujet d'accusation, à moins que nous n'en trouvions contre lui à cause de la loi de son Dieu.
  
  6 Alors ces présidents et ces satrapes s'assemblèrent en foule auprès du roi, et lui parlèrent ainsi : Roi Darius, vis à jamais !
  
  7 Tous les présidents du royaume, les préfets et les satrapes, les conseillers et les gouverneurs, ont tenu conseil ensemble pour établir un statut royal et mettre en vigueur une défense, portant que quiconque fera une demande à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme que ce soit, durant trente jours, excepté à toi, ô roi, sera jeté dans la fosse aux lions.
  
  8 Maintenant, ô roi, établis la défense, et signe l'écrit afin qu'il ne soit pas changé, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui ne peut être abrogée.
  
  9 A cause de cela, le roi Darius signa l'écrit et la défense.
  
  10 Or Daniel, quand il sut que l'écrit était signé, entra dans sa maison ; et, ses fenêtres étant ouvertes dans sa chambre haute, du côté de Jérusalem, il s'agenouillait sur ses genoux trois fois le jour, et priait, et rendait grâce devant son Dieu, comme il avait fait auparavant.
  
  11 Mais ces hommes s'assemblèrent en foule et trouvèrent Daniel qui priait et présentait sa supplication devant son Dieu.
  
  12 Alors ils s'approchèrent et dirent devant le roi, touchant la défense du roi : N'as-tu pas signé une défense, portant que tout homme qui, durant trente jours, ferait une demande à quelque dieu ou à quelque homme que ce fût, excepté à toi, ô roi, serait jeté dans la fosse aux lions ? Le roi répondit et dit : La chose est certaine, selon la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qui ne peut être abrogée.
  
  13 Alors ils répondirent et dirent devant le roi : Daniel, qui est d'entre les fils de la captivité de Juda, ne tient pas compte de toi, ô roi, ni de la défense que tu as signée, mais il fait sa requête trois fois par jour.
  
  14 Alors le roi, quand il entendit ces paroles, en fut fort affligé, et il pensa avec sollicitude à Daniel afin de le sauver, et jusqu'au coucher du soleil il s'efforça de le délivrer.
  
  15 Alors ces hommes s'assemblèrent en foule auprès du roi, et dirent au roi : Sache, ô roi, que c'est la loi des Mèdes et des Perses, qu'aucune défense ou statut que le roi a établi, ne peut être changé.
  
  16 Alors le roi donna des ordres, et on amena Daniel, et on le jeta dans la fosse aux lions. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel : Ton Dieu que tu sers continuellement, lui, te sauvera.
  
  17 Et une pierre fut apportée et mise sur l'ouverture de la fosse, et le roi la scella de son cachet et du cachet de ses grands, afin que l'intention à l'égard de Daniel ne fût pas changée.
  
  18 Alors le roi s'en alla dans son palais, et il passa la nuit en jeûnant, et ne voulut pas qu'on lui amenât des concubines ; et son sommeil s'enfuit loin de lui.
  
  19 Ensuite le roi se leva avec l'aurore, au point du jour, et s'en alla en hâte à la fosse aux lions.
  
  20 Et comme il approchait de la fosse, il cria à Daniel d'une voix triste. Le roi prit la parole et dit à Daniel : Daniel, serviteur du Dieu vivant, ton Dieu, que tu sers continuellement, a-t-il pu te délivrer des lions ?
  
  21 Alors Daniel parla au roi : O roi, vis à jamais !
  
  22 Mon Dieu a envoyé son ange et a fermé la gueule des lions, et ils ne m'ont fait aucun mal, parce que devant lui l'innocence s'est trouvée en moi, et devant toi non plus, ô roi, je n'ai rien fait de mal.
  
  23 Alors le roi fut très-joyeux et dit qu'on tirât Daniel de la fosse, et Daniel fut tiré de la fosse, et aucun mal ne fut trouvé sur lui, parce qu'il s'était confié en son Dieu.
  
  24 Et le roi donna des ordres, et on amena ces hommes qui avaient accusé Daniel, et on les jeta dans la fosse aux lions, eux, leurs enfants et leurs femmes ; et ils n'étaient pas parvenus au fond de la fosse, que déjà les lions se rendirent maîtres d'eux et leur brisèrent tous les os.
  
  25 Alors le roi Darius écrivit : A tous les peuples, peuplades et langues, qui habitent sur toute la terre ! Que votre paix soit multipliée !
  
  26 De par moi l'ordre est donné que, dans tous les gouvernements de mon royaume, on tremble devant le Dieu de Daniel et on le craigne ; car il est le Dieu vivant, et il subsiste à jamais, et son royaume est un royaume qui ne sera pas détruit, et sa domination durera jusqu'à la fin.
  
  27 Il sauve et il délivre, et il opère des signes et des prodiges dans les cieux et sur la terre : c'est lui qui a sauvé Daniel de la puissance des lions.
  
  28 Et ce Daniel prospéra pendant le règne de Darius et pendant le règne de Cyrus, le Perse.
  
  2 Thessaloniciens 2
  
  1 Or nous vous prions, frères, par la venue de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ et par notre rassemblement auprès de lui,
  
  2 de ne pas vous laisser promptement bouleverser dans vos pensées, ni troubler, ni par esprit, ni par parole, ni par lettre, comme si c'était par nous, comme si le jour du Seigneur était là.
  
  3 Que personne ne vous séduise en aucune manière, car ce jour-là ne viendra pas que l'apostasie ne soit arrivée auparavant et que l'homme de péché n'ait été révélé, le fils de perdition,
  
  4 qui s'oppose et s'élève contre tout ce qui est appelé Dieu ou qui est un objet de vénération, en sorte que lui-même s'assiéra au temple de Dieu, se présentant lui-même comme étant Dieu.
  
  5 Ne vous souvenez-vous pas que, quand j'étais encore auprès de vous, je vous disais ces choses ?
  
  6 Et maintenant vous savez ce qui retient pour qu'il soit révélé en son propre temps.
  
  7 Car le mystère d'iniquité opère déjà ; seulement celui qui retient maintenant, le fera jusqu'à ce qu'il soit loin.
  
  8 Et alors sera révélé l'inique, que le Seigneur Jésus consumera par le souffle de sa bouche et qu'il anéantira par l'apparition de sa venue ;
  
  9 duquel la venue est selon l'opération de Satan, en toute sorte de miracles et signes et prodiges de mensonge,
  
  10 et en toute séduction d'injustice pour ceux qui périssent, parce qu'ils n'ont pas reçu l'amour de la vérité pour être sauvés.
  
  11 Et à cause de cela, Dieu leur envoie une énergie d'erreur pu qu'ils croient au mensonge,
  
  12 afin que tous ceux-là soient jugés qui n'ont pas cru la vérité, mais qui ont pris plaisir à l'injustice.
  
  13 Mais nous, nous devons toujours rendre grâces à Dieu pour vous, frères aimés du Seigneur, de ce que Dieu vous a choisis dès le commencement pour le salut, dans la sainteté de l'Esprit et la foi de la vérité,
  
  14 à quoi il vous a appelés par notre évangile, pour que vous obteniez la gloire de notre Seigneur Jésus Christ.
  
  15 Ainsi donc, frères, demeurez fermes, et retenez les enseignements que vous avez appris soit par parole, soit par notre lettre.
  
  16 Or notre Seigneur Jésus Christ lui-même, et notre Dieu et Père, qui nous a aimés et nous a donné une consolation éternelle et une bonne espérance par grâce,
  
  17 veuille consoler vos coeurs et vous affermir en toute bonne oeuvre et en toute bonne parole.

  1 It happened, when Yahweh would take up Elijah by a whirlwind into heaven, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
  
  2 Elijah said to Elisha, "Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel." Elisha said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." So they went down to Bethel.
  
  3 The sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from your head today?" He said, "Yes, I know it; hold your peace."
  
  4 Elijah said to him, "Elisha, please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to Jericho." He said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." So they came to Jericho.
  
  5 The sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came near to Elisha, and said to him, "Do you know that Yahweh will take away your master from your head today?" He answered, "Yes, I know it. Hold your peace."
  
  6 Elijah said to him, "Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me to the Jordan." He said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." They both went on.
  
  7 Fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood opposite them at a distance; and they both stood by the Jordan.
  
  8 Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and struck the waters, and they were divided here and there, so that they two went over on dry ground.
  
  9 It happened, when they had gone over, that Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you." Elisha said, "Please let a double portion of your spirit be on me."
  
  10 He said, "You have asked a hard thing. If you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."
  
  11 It happened, as they still went on, and talked, that behold, a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
  
  12 Elisha saw it, and he cried, "My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and its horsemen!" He saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and tore them in two pieces.
  
  13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
  
  14 He took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and struck the waters, and said, "Where is Yahweh, the God of Elijah?" When he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha went over.
  
  15 When the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho over against him saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." They came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
  
  16 They said to him, "See now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. Perhaps the Spirit of Yahweh has taken him up, and put him on some mountain, or into some valley. He said, "You shall not send them."
  
  17 When they urged him until he was ashamed, he said, "Send them." They sent therefore fifty men; and they searched for three days, but didn't find him.
  
  18 They came back to him, while he stayed at Jericho; and he said to them, "Didn't I tell you, 'Don't go?'"
  
  19 The men of the city said to Elisha, "Behold, please, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord sees; but the water is bad, and the land miscarries."
  
  20 He said, "Bring me a new jar, and put salt in it." They brought it to him.
  
  21 He went out to the spring of the waters, and threw salt into it, and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'I have healed these waters. There shall not be from there any more death or miscarrying.'"
  
  22 So the waters were healed to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke.
  
  23 He went up from there to Bethel. As he was going up by the way, some youths came out of the city and mocked him, and said to him, "Go up, you baldy! Go up, you baldhead!"
  
  24 He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of Yahweh. Two female bears came out of the woods, and mauled forty-two of those youths.
  
  25 He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.
  
  Daniel 6
  
  1 It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred twenty satraps, who should be throughout the whole kingdom;
  
  2 and over them three presidents, of whom Daniel was one; that these satraps might give account to them, and that the king should have no damage.
  
  3 Then this Daniel was distinguished above the presidents and the satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
  
  4 Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault, because he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
  
  5 Then these men said, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.
  
  6 Then these presidents and satraps assembled together to the king, and said thus to him, King Darius, live forever.
  
  7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the deputies and the satraps, the counselors and the governors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a strong decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of you, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
  
  8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which doesn't alter.
  
  9 Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
  
  10 When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house (now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem) and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.
  
  11 Then these men assembled together, and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.
  
  12 Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's decree: Haven't you signed an decree, that every man who shall make petition to any god or man within thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which doesn't alter.
  
  13 Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, doesn't respect you, O king, nor the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.
  
  14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was very displeased, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored until the going down of the sun to rescue him.
  
  15 Then these men assembled together to the king, and said to the king, Know, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians, that no decree nor statute which the king establishes may be changed.
  
  16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. [Now] the king spoke and said to Daniel, Your God whom you serve continually, he will deliver you.
  
  17 A stone was brought, and laid on the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that nothing might be changed concerning Daniel.
  
  18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting; neither were instruments of music brought before him: and his sleep fled from him.
  
  19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste to the den of lions.
  
  20 When he came near to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice; the king spoke and said to Daniel, Daniel, servant of the living God, is your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver you from the lions?
  
  21 Then Daniel said to the king, O king, live forever.
  
  22 My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions' mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, have I done no hurt.
  
  23 Then was the king exceeding glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
  
  24 The king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions mauled them, and broke all their bones in pieces, before they came to the bottom of the den.
  
  25 Then king Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages, who dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
  
  26 I make a decree, that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel; for he is the living God, and steadfast forever, His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed; and his dominion shall be even to the end.
  
  27 He delivers and rescues, and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
  
  28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
  
  2 Thessaloniciens 2
  
  1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you
  
  2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of Christ had come.
  
  3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the departure comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction,
  
  4 he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
  
  5 Don't you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things?
  
  6 Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.
  
  7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.
  
  8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;
  
  9 even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
  
  10 and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn't receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
  
  11 Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie;
  
  12 that they all might be judged who didn't believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
  
  13 But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth;
  
  14 to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  
  15 So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.
  
  16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,
  
  17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

  1 וַיְהִ֗י בְּהַעֲל֤וֹת יְהוָה֙ אֶת־אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ בַּֽסְעָרָ֖ה הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַיֵּ֧לֶךְ אֵלִיָּ֛הוּ וֶאֱלִישָׁ֖ע מִן־הַגִּלְגָּֽל׃
  
  2 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁ֜ע שֵֽׁב־נָ֣א פֹ֗ה כִּ֤י יְהוָה֙ שְׁלָחַ֣נִי עַד־בֵּֽית־אֵ֔ל וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלִישָׁ֔ע חַי־יְהוָ֥ה וְחֵֽי־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ וַיֵּרְד֖וּ בֵּֽית־אֵֽל׃
  
  3 וַיֵּצְא֨וּ בְנֵֽי־הַנְּבִיאִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־בֵּֽית־אֵל֮ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֔יו הֲיָדַ֕עְתָּ כִּ֣י הַיּ֗וֹם יְהוָ֛ה לֹקֵ֥חַ אֶת־אֲדֹנֶ֖יךָ מֵעַ֣ל רֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֛אמֶר גַּם־אֲנִ֥י יָדַ֖עְתִּי הֶחֱשֽׁוּ׃
  
  4 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ ל֨וֹ אֵלִיָּ֜הוּ אֱלִישָׁ֣ע ׀ שֵֽׁב־נָ֣א פֹ֗ה כִּ֤י יְהוָה֙ שְׁלָחַ֣נִי יְרִיח֔וֹ וַיֹּ֕אמֶר חַי־יְהוָ֥ה וְחֵֽי־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ וַיָּבֹ֖אוּ יְרִיחֽוֹ׃
  
  5 וַיִּגְּשׁ֨וּ בְנֵֽי־הַנְּבִיאִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־בִּֽירִיחוֹ֮ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֔יו הֲיָדַ֕עְתָּ כִּ֣י הַיּ֗וֹם יְהוָ֛ה לֹקֵ֥חַ אֶת־אֲדֹנֶ֖יךָ מֵעַ֣ל רֹאשֶׁ֑ךָ וַיֹּ֛אמֶר גַּם־אֲנִ֥י יָדַ֖עְתִּי הֶחֱשֽׁוּ׃
  
  6 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ ל֨וֹ אֵלִיָּ֜הוּ שֵֽׁב־נָ֣א פֹ֗ה כִּ֤י יְהוָה֙ שְׁלָחַ֣נִי הַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָה וַיֹּ֕אמֶר חַי־יְהוָ֥ה וְחֵֽי־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  7 וַחֲמִשִּׁ֨ים אִ֜ישׁ מִבְּנֵ֤י הַנְּבִיאִים֙ הָֽלְכ֔וּ וַיַּעַמְד֥וּ מִנֶּ֖גֶד מֵרָח֑וֹק וּשְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם עָמְד֥וּ עַל־הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
  
  8 וַיִּקַּח֩ אֵלִיָּ֨הוּ אֶת־אַדַּרְתּ֤וֹ וַיִּגְלֹם֙ וַיַּכֶּ֣ה אֶת־הַמַּ֔יִם וַיֵּחָצ֖וּ הֵ֣נָּה וָהֵ֑נָּה וַיַּעַבְר֥וּ שְׁנֵיהֶ֖ם בֶּחָרָבָֽה׃
  
  9 וַיְהִ֣י כְעָבְרָ֗ם וְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּ אָמַ֤ר אֶל־אֱלִישָׁע֙ שְׁאַל֙ מָ֣ה אֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּ֔ךְ בְּטֶ֖רֶם אֶלָּקַ֣ח מֵעִמָּ֑ךְ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלִישָׁ֔ע וִֽיהִי־נָ֛א פִּֽי־שְׁנַ֥יִם בְּרוּחֲךָ֖ אֵלָֽי׃
  
  10 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הִקְשִׁ֣יתָ לִשְׁא֑וֹל אִם־תִּרְאֶ֨ה אֹתִ֜י לֻקָּ֤ח מֵֽאִתָּךְ֙ יְהִֽי־לְךָ֣ כֵ֔ן וְאִם־אַ֖יִן לֹ֥א יִהְיֶֽה׃
  
  11 וַיְהִ֗י הֵ֣מָּה הֹלְכִ֤ים הָלוֹךְ֙ וְדַבֵּ֔ר וְהִנֵּ֤ה רֶֽכֶב־אֵשׁ֙ וְס֣וּסֵי אֵ֔שׁ וַיַּפְרִ֖דוּ בֵּ֣ין שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם וַיַּ֙עַל֙ אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ בַּֽסְעָרָ֖ה הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
  
  12 וֶאֱלִישָׁ֣ע רֹאֶ֗ה וְה֤וּא מְצַעֵק֙ אָבִ֣י ׀ אָבִ֗י רֶ֤כֶב יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וּפָ֣רָשָׁ֔יו וְלֹ֥א רָאָ֖הוּ ע֑וֹד וַֽיַּחֲזֵק֙ בִּבְגָדָ֔יו וַיִּקְרָעֵ֖ם לִשְׁנַ֥יִם קְרָעִֽים׃
  
  13 וַיָּ֙רֶם֙ אֶת־אַדֶּ֣רֶת אֵלִיָּ֔הוּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָפְלָ֖ה מֵעָלָ֑יו וַיָּ֥שָׁב וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד עַל־שְׂפַ֥ת הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃
  
  14 וַיִּקַּח֩ אֶת־אַדֶּ֨רֶת אֵלִיָּ֜הוּ אֲשֶׁר־נָפְלָ֤ה מֵֽעָלָיו֙ וַיַּכֶּ֣ה אֶת־הַמַּ֔יִם וַיֹּאמַ֕ר אַיֵּ֕ה יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֵלִיָּ֑הוּ אַף־ה֣וּא ׀ וַיַּכֶּ֣ה אֶת־הַמַּ֗יִם וַיֵּֽחָצוּ֙ הֵ֣נָּה וָהֵ֔נָּה וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר אֱלִישָֽׁע׃
  
  15 וַיִּרְאֻ֨הוּ בְנֵֽי־הַנְּבִיאִ֤ים אֲשֶׁר־בִּֽירִיחוֹ֙ מִנֶּ֔גֶד וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ נָ֛חָה ר֥וּחַ אֵלִיָּ֖הוּ עַל־אֱלִישָׁ֑ע וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ לִקְרָאת֔וֹ וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ל֖וֹ אָֽרְצָה׃
  
  16 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֡יו הִנֵּה־נָ֣א יֵֽשׁ־אֶת־עֲבָדֶיךָ֩ חֲמִשִּׁ֨ים אֲנָשִׁ֜ים בְּנֵֽי־חַ֗יִל יֵ֣לְכוּ נָא֮ וִיבַקְשׁ֣וּ אֶת־אֲדֹנֶיךָ֒ פֶּן־נְשָׂאוֹ֙ ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֔ה וַיַּשְׁלִכֵ֙הוּ֙ בְּאַחַ֣ד הֶהָרִ֔ים א֖וֹ בְּאַחַ֣ת *הגיאות **הַגֵּאָי֑וֹת וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לֹ֥א תִשְׁלָֽחוּ׃
  
  17 וַיִּפְצְרוּ־ב֥וֹ עַד־בֹּ֖שׁ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר שְׁלָ֑חוּ וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ֙ חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים אִ֔ישׁ וַיְבַקְשׁ֥וּ שְׁלֹשָֽׁה־יָמִ֖ים וְלֹ֥א מְצָאֻֽהוּ׃
  
  18 וַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּ אֵלָ֔יו וְה֖וּא יֹשֵׁ֣ב בִּירִיח֑וֹ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם הֲלֽוֹא־אָמַ֥רְתִּי אֲלֵיכֶ֖ם אַל־תֵּלֵֽכוּ׃
  
  19 וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ אַנְשֵׁ֤י הָעִיר֙ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁ֔ע הִנֵּה־נָ֞א מוֹשַׁ֤ב הָעִיר֙ ט֔וֹב כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲדֹנִ֖י רֹאֶ֑ה וְהַמַּ֥יִם רָעִ֖ים וְהָאָ֥רֶץ מְשַׁכָּֽלֶת׃
  
  20 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר קְחוּ־לִי֙ צְלֹחִ֣ית חֲדָשָׁ֔ה וְשִׂ֥ימוּ שָׁ֖ם מֶ֑לַח וַיִּקְח֖וּ אֵלָֽיו׃
  
  21 וַיֵּצֵא֙ אֶל־מוֹצָ֣א הַמַּ֔יִם וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ־שָׁ֖ם מֶ֑לַח וַיֹּ֜אמֶר כֹּֽה־אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה רִפִּ֙אתִי֙ לַמַּ֣יִם הָאֵ֔לֶּה לֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֥ה מִשָּׁ֛ם ע֖וֹד מָ֥וֶת וּמְשַׁכָּֽלֶת׃
  
  22 וַיֵּרָפ֣וּ הַמַּ֔יִם עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּדְבַ֥ר אֱלִישָׁ֖ע אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃
  
  23 וַיַּ֥עַל מִשָּׁ֖ם בֵּֽית־אֵ֑ל וְה֣וּא ׀ עֹלֶ֣ה בַדֶּ֗רֶךְ וּנְעָרִ֤ים קְטַנִּים֙ יָצְא֣וּ מִן־הָעִ֔יר וַיִּתְקַלְּסוּ־בוֹ֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ ל֔וֹ עֲלֵ֥ה קֵרֵ֖חַ עֲלֵ֥ה קֵרֵֽחַ׃
  
  24 וַיִּ֤פֶן אַֽחֲרָיו֙ וַיִּרְאֵ֔ם וַֽיְקַלְלֵ֖ם בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וַתֵּצֶ֨אנָה שְׁתַּ֤יִם דֻּבִּים֙ מִן־הַיַּ֔עַר וַתְּבַקַּ֣עְנָה מֵהֶ֔ם אַרְבָּעִ֥ים וּשְׁנֵ֖י יְלָדִֽים׃
  
  25 וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ מִשָּׁ֖ם אֶל־הַ֣ר הַכַּרְמֶ֑ל וּמִשָּׁ֖ם שָׁ֥ב שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

  1 וְדָרְיָ֙וֶשׁ֙ מָֽדָיָ֔א קַבֵּ֖ל מַלְכוּתָ֑א כְּבַ֥ר שְׁנִ֖ין שִׁתִּ֥ין וְתַרְתֵּֽין׃
  
  2 שְׁפַר֙ קֳדָ֣ם דָּרְיָ֔וֶשׁ וַהֲקִים֙ עַל־מַלְכוּתָ֔א לַאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֖א מְאָ֣ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֑ין דִּ֥י לֶהֱוֺ֖ן בְּכָל־מַלְכוּתָֽא׃
  
  3 וְעֵ֤לָּא מִנְּהוֹן֙ סָרְכִ֣ין תְּלָתָ֔א דִּ֥י דָנִיֵּ֖אל חַֽד־מִנְּה֑וֹן דִּֽי־לֶהֱוֺ֞ן אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ין יָהֲבִ֤ין לְהוֹן֙ טַעְמָ֔א וּמַלְכָּ֖א לָֽא־לֶהֱוֵ֥א נָזִֽק׃
  
  4 אֱדַ֙יִן֙ דָּנִיֵּ֣אל דְּנָ֔ה הֲוָ֣א מִתְנַצַּ֔ח עַל־סָרְכַיָּ֖א וַאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֑א כָּל־קֳבֵ֗ל דִּ֣י ר֤וּחַ יַתִּירָא֙ בֵּ֔הּ וּמַלְכָּ֣א עֲשִׁ֔ית לַהֲקָמוּתֵ֖הּ עַל־כָּל־מַלְכוּתָֽא׃
  
  5 אֱדַ֨יִן סָֽרְכַיָּ֜א וַאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֗א הֲו֨וֹ בָעַ֧יִן עִלָּ֛ה לְהַשְׁכָּחָ֥ה לְדָנִיֵּ֖אל מִצַּ֣ד מַלְכוּתָ֑א וְכָל־עִלָּ֨ה וּשְׁחִיתָ֜ה לָא־יָכְלִ֣ין לְהַשְׁכָּחָ֗ה כָּל־קֳבֵל֙ דִּֽי־מְהֵימַ֣ן ה֔וּא וְכָל־שָׁלוּ֙ וּשְׁחִיתָ֔ה לָ֥א הִשְׁתְּכַ֖חַת עֲלֽוֹהִי׃
  
  6 אֱ֠דַיִן גֻּבְרַיָּ֤א אִלֵּךְ֙ אָֽמְרִ֔ין דִּ֣י לָ֧א נְהַשְׁכַּ֛ח לְדָנִיֵּ֥אל דְּנָ֖ה כָּל־עִלָּ֑א לָהֵ֕ן הַשְׁכַּ֥חְנָֽה עֲל֖וֹהִי בְּדָ֥ת אֱלָהֵֽהּ׃
  
  7 אֱ֠דַיִן סָרְכַיָּ֤א וַאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּא֙ אִלֵּ֔ן הַרְגִּ֖שׁוּ עַל־מַלְכָּ֑א וְכֵן֙ אָמְרִ֣ין לֵ֔הּ דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖א לְעָלְמִ֥ין חֱיִֽי׃
  
  8 אִתְיָעַ֜טוּ כֹּ֣ל ׀ סָרְכֵ֣י מַלְכוּתָ֗א סִגְנַיָּ֤א וַֽאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּא֙ הַדָּֽבְרַיָּ֣א וּפַחֲוָתָ֔א לְקַיָּמָ֤ה קְיָם֙ מַלְכָּ֔א וּלְתַקָּפָ֖ה אֱסָ֑ר דִּ֣י כָל־דִּֽי־יִבְעֵ֣ה בָ֠עוּ מִן־כָּל־אֱלָ֨הּ וֶֽאֱנָ֜שׁ עַד־יוֹמִ֣ין תְּלָתִ֗ין לָהֵן֙ מִנָּ֣ךְ מַלְכָּ֔א יִתְרְמֵ֕א לְגֹ֖ב אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃
  
  9 כְּעַ֣ן מַלְכָּ֔א תְּקִ֥ים אֱסָרָ֖א וְתִרְשֻׁ֣ם כְּתָבָ֑א דִּ֣י לָ֧א לְהַשְׁנָיָ֛ה כְּדָת־מָדַ֥י וּפָרַ֖ס דִּי־לָ֥א תֶעְדֵּֽא׃
  
  10 כָּל־קֳבֵ֖ל דְּנָ֑ה מַלְכָּא֙ דָּֽרְיָ֔וֶשׁ רְשַׁ֥ם כְּתָבָ֖א וֶאֱסָרָֽא׃
  
  11 וְ֠דָנִיֵּאל כְּדִ֨י יְדַ֜ע דִּֽי־רְשִׁ֤ים כְּתָבָא֙ עַ֣ל לְבַיְתֵ֔הּ וְכַוִּ֨ין פְּתִיחָ֥ן לֵהּ֙ בְּעִלִּיתֵ֔הּ נֶ֖גֶד יְרוּשְׁלֶ֑ם וְזִמְנִין֩ תְּלָתָ֨ה בְיוֹמָ֜א ה֣וּא ׀ בָּרֵ֣ךְ עַל־בִּרְכ֗וֹהִי וּמְצַלֵּ֤א וּמוֹדֵא֙ קֳדָ֣ם אֱלָהֵ֔הּ כָּל־קֳבֵל֙ דִּֽי־הֲוָ֣א עָבֵ֔ד מִן־קַדְמַ֖ת דְּנָֽה׃
  
  12 אֱ֠דַיִן גֻּבְרַיָּ֤א אִלֵּךְ֙ הַרְגִּ֔שׁוּ וְהַשְׁכַּ֖חוּ לְדָנִיֵּ֑אל בָּעֵ֥א וּמִתְחַנַּ֖ן קֳדָ֥ם אֱלָהֵֽהּ׃
  
  13 בֵּ֠אדַיִן קְרִ֨יבוּ וְאָמְרִ֥ין קֳדָם־מַלְכָּא֮ עַל־אֱסָ֣ר מַלְכָּא֒ הֲלָ֧א אֱסָ֣ר רְשַׁ֗מְתָּ דִּ֣י כָל־אֱנָ֡שׁ דִּֽי־יִבְעֵה֩ מִן־כָּל־אֱלָ֨הּ וֶֽאֱנָ֜שׁ עַד־יוֹמִ֣ין תְּלָתִ֗ין לָהֵן֙ מִנָּ֣ךְ מַלְכָּ֔א יִתְרְמֵ֕א לְג֖וֹב אַרְיָותָ֑א עָנֵ֨ה מַלְכָּ֜א וְאָמַ֗ר יַצִּיבָ֧א מִלְּתָ֛א כְּדָת־מָדַ֥י וּפָרַ֖ס דִּי־לָ֥א תֶעְדֵּֽא׃
  
  14 בֵּ֠אדַיִן עֲנ֣וֹ וְאָמְרִין֮ קֳדָ֣ם מַלְכָּא֒ דִּ֣י דָנִיֵּ֡אל דִּי֩ מִן־בְּנֵ֨י גָלוּתָ֜א דִּ֣י יְה֗וּד לָא־שָׂ֨ם *עליך **עֲלָ֤ךְ מַלְכָּא֙ טְעֵ֔ם וְעַל־אֱסָרָ֖א דִּ֣י רְשַׁ֑מְתָּ וְזִמְנִ֤ין תְּלָתָה֙ בְּיוֹמָ֔א בָּעֵ֖א בָּעוּתֵֽהּ׃
  
  15 אֱדַ֨יִן מַלְכָּ֜א כְּדִ֧י מִלְּתָ֣א שְׁמַ֗ע שַׂגִּיא֙ בְּאֵ֣שׁ עֲל֔וֹהִי וְעַ֧ל דָּנִיֵּ֛אל שָׂ֥ם בָּ֖ל לְשֵׁיזָבוּתֵ֑הּ וְעַד֙ מֶֽעָלֵ֣י שִׁמְשָׁ֔א הֲוָ֥א מִשְׁתַּדַּ֖ר לְהַצָּלוּתֵֽהּ׃
  
  16 בֵּאדַ֙יִן֙ גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֔ךְ הַרְגִּ֖שׁוּ עַל־מַלְכָּ֑א וְאָמְרִ֣ין לְמַלְכָּ֗א דַּ֤ע מַלְכָּא֙ דִּֽי־דָת֙ לְמָדַ֣י וּפָרַ֔ס דִּֽי־כָל־אֱסָ֥ר וּקְיָ֛ם דִּֽי־מַלְכָּ֥א יְהָקֵ֖ים לָ֥א לְהַשְׁנָיָֽה׃
  
  17 בֵּאדַ֜יִן מַלְכָּ֣א אֲמַ֗ר וְהַיְתִיו֙ לְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל וּרְמ֕וֹ לְגֻבָּ֖א דִּ֣י אַרְיָוָתָ֑א עָנֵ֤ה מַלְכָּא֙ וְאָמַ֣ר לְדָנִיֵּ֔אל אֱלָהָ֗ךְ דִּ֣י *אנתה **אַ֤נְתְּ פָּֽלַֽח־לֵהּ֙ בִּתְדִירָ֔א ה֖וּא יְשֵׁיזְבִנָּֽךְ׃
  
  18 וְהֵיתָ֙יִת֙ אֶ֣בֶן חֲדָ֔ה וְשֻׂמַ֖ת עַל־פֻּ֣ם גֻּבָּ֑א וְחַתְמַ֨הּ מַלְכָּ֜א בְּעִזְקְתֵ֗הּ וּבְעִזְקָת֙ רַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי דִּ֛י לָא־תִשְׁנֵ֥א צְב֖וּ בְּדָנִיֵּֽאל׃
  
  19 אֱ֠דַיִן אֲזַ֨ל מַלְכָּ֤א לְהֵֽיכְלֵהּ֙ וּבָ֣ת טְוָ֔ת וְדַחֲוָ֖ן לָא־הַנְעֵ֣ל קָֽדָמ֑וֹהִי וְשִׁנְתֵּ֖הּ נַדַּ֥ת עֲלֽוֹהִי׃
  
  20 בֵּאדַ֣יִן מַלְכָּ֔א בִּשְׁפַּרְפָּרָ֖א יְק֣וּם בְּנָגְהָ֑א וּבְהִ֨תְבְּהָלָ֔ה לְגֻבָּ֥א דִֽי־אַרְיָוָתָ֖א אֲזַֽל׃
  
  21 וּכְמִקְרְבֵ֣הּ לְגֻבָּ֔א לְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל בְּקָ֥ל עֲצִ֖יב זְעִ֑ק עָנֵ֨ה מַלְכָּ֜א וְאָמַ֣ר לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל דָּֽנִיֵּאל֙ עֲבֵד֙ אֱלָהָ֣א חַיָּ֔א אֱלָהָ֗ךְ דִּ֣י *אנתה **אַ֤נְתְּ פָּֽלַֽח־לֵהּ֙ בִּתְדִירָ֔א הַיְכִ֥ל לְשֵׁיזָבוּתָ֖ךְ מִן־אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃
  
  22 אֱדַ֙יִן֙ דָּנִיֶּ֔אל עִם־מַלְכָּ֖א מַלִּ֑ל מַלְכָּ֖א לְעָלְמִ֥ין חֱיִֽי׃
  
  23 אֱלָהִ֞י שְׁלַ֣ח מַלְאֲכֵ֗הּ וּֽסֲגַ֛ר פֻּ֥ם אַרְיָוָתָ֖א וְלָ֣א חַבְּל֑וּנִי כָּל־קֳבֵ֗ל דִּ֤י קָֽדָמ֙וֹהִי֙ זָכוּ֙ הִשְׁתְּכַ֣חַת לִ֔י וְאַ֤ף *קדמיך **קָֽדָמָךְ֙ מַלְכָּ֔א חֲבוּלָ֖ה לָ֥א עַבְדֵֽת׃
  
  24 בֵּאדַ֣יִן מַלְכָּ֗א שַׂגִּיא֙ טְאֵ֣ב עֲל֔וֹהִי וּלְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל אֲמַ֖ר לְהַנְסָקָ֣ה מִן־גֻּבָּ֑א וְהֻסַּ֨ק דָּנִיֵּ֜אל מִן־גֻּבָּ֗א וְכָל־חֲבָל֙ לָא־הִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח בֵּ֔הּ דִּ֖י הֵימִ֥ן בֵּאלָהֵֽהּ׃
  
  25 וַאֲמַ֣ר מַלְכָּ֗א וְהַיְתִ֞יו גֻּבְרַיָּ֤א אִלֵּךְ֙ דִּֽי־אֲכַ֤לוּ קַרְצ֙וֹהִי֙ דִּ֣י דָֽנִיֵּ֔אל וּלְגֹ֤ב אַרְיָוָתָא֙ רְמ֔וֹ אִנּ֖וּן בְּנֵיה֣וֹן וּנְשֵׁיה֑וֹן וְלָֽא־מְט֞וֹ לְאַרְעִ֣ית גֻּבָּ֗א עַ֠ד דִּֽי־שְׁלִ֤טֽוּ בְהוֹן֙ אַרְיָ֣וָתָ֔א וְכָל־גַּרְמֵיה֖וֹן הַדִּֽקוּ׃
  
  26 בֵּאדַ֜יִן דָּרְיָ֣וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗א כְּ֠תַב לְֽכָל־עַֽמְמַיָּ֞א אֻמַיָּ֧א וְלִשָּׁנַיָּ֛א דִּֽי־*דארין **דָיְרִ֥ין בְּכָל־אַרְעָ֖א שְׁלָמְכ֥וֹן יִשְׂגֵּֽא׃
  
  27 מִן־קֳדָמַי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י ׀ בְּכָל־שָׁלְטָ֣ן מַלְכוּתִ֗י לֶהֱוֺ֤ן *זאעין **זָיְעִין֙ וְדָ֣חֲלִ֔ין מִן־קֳדָ֖ם אֱלָהֵ֣הּ דִּי־דָֽנִיֵּ֑אל דִּי־ה֣וּא ׀ אֱלָהָ֣א חַיָּ֗א וְקַיָּם֙ לְעָ֣לְמִ֔ין וּמַלְכוּתֵהּ֙ דִּֽי־לָ֣א תִתְחַבַּ֔ל וְשָׁלְטָנֵ֖הּ עַד־סוֹפָֽא׃
  
  28 מְשֵׁיזִ֣ב וּמַצִּ֗ל וְעָבֵד֙ אָתִ֣ין וְתִמְהִ֔ין בִּשְׁמַיָּ֖א וּבְאַרְעָ֑א דִּ֚י שֵׁיזִ֣יב לְדָֽנִיֵּ֔אל מִן־יַ֖ד אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃

  1 Ἐρωτῶμεν δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, ὑπὲρ τῆς παρουσίας τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ καὶ ἡμῶν ἐπισυναγωγῆς ἐπ’ αὐτόν,
  
  2 εἰς τὸ μὴ ταχέως σαλευθῆναι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ τοῦ νοὸς μηδὲ θροεῖσθαι μήτε διὰ πνεύματος μήτε διὰ λόγου μήτε δι’ ἐπιστολῆς ὡς δι’ ἡμῶν, ὡς ὅτι ἐνέστηκεν ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ κυρίου.
  
  3 μή τις ὑμᾶς ἐξαπατήσῃ κατὰ μηδένα τρόπον· ὅτι ἐὰν μὴ ἔλθῃ ἡ ἀποστασία πρῶτον καὶ ἀποκαλυφθῇ ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῆς ἀνομίας, ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας,
  
  4 ὁ ἀντικείμενος καὶ ὑπεραιρόμενος ἐπὶ πάντα λεγόμενον θεὸν ἢ σέβασμα, ὥστε αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν ναὸν τοῦ θεοῦ καθίσαι ἀποδεικνύντα ἑαυτὸν ὅτι ἔστιν θεός.
  
  5 οὐ μνημονεύετε ὅτι ἔτι ὢν πρὸς ὑμᾶς ταῦτα ἔλεγον ὑμῖν;
  
  6 καὶ νῦν τὸ κατέχον οἴδατε, εἰς τὸ ἀποκαλυφθῆναι αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἑαυτοῦ καιρῷ·
  
  7 τὸ γὰρ μυστήριον ἤδη ἐνεργεῖται τῆς ἀνομίας· μόνον ὁ κατέχων ἄρτι ἕως ἐκ μέσου γένηται.
  
  8 καὶ τότε ἀποκαλυφθήσεται ὁ ἄνομος, ὃν ὁ κύριος Ἰησοῦς ἀνελεῖ τῷ πνεύματι τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ καταργήσει τῇ ἐπιφανείᾳ τῆς παρουσίας αὐτοῦ,
  
  9 οὗ ἐστιν ἡ παρουσία κατ’ ἐνέργειαν τοῦ Σατανᾶ ἐν πάσῃ δυνάμει καὶ σημείοις καὶ τέρασιν ψεύδους
  
  10 καὶ ἐν πάσῃ ἀπάτῃ ἀδικίας τοῖς ἀπολλυμένοις, ἀνθ’ ὧν τὴν ἀγάπην τῆς ἀληθείας οὐκ ἐδέξαντο εἰς τὸ σωθῆναι αὐτούς·
  
  11 καὶ διὰ τοῦτο πέμπει αὐτοῖς ὁ θεὸς ἐνέργειαν πλάνης εἰς τὸ πιστεῦσαι αὐτοὺς τῷ ψεύδει,
  
  12 ἵνα κριθῶσιν πάντες οἱ μὴ πιστεύσαντες τῇ ἀληθείᾳ ἀλλὰ εὐδοκήσαντες τῇ ἀδικίᾳ.
  
  13 Ἡμεῖς δὲ ὀφείλομεν εὐχαριστεῖν τῷ θεῷ πάντοτε περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀδελφοὶ ἠγαπημένοι ὑπὸ κυρίου, ὅτι εἵλατο ὑμᾶς ὁ θεὸς ἀπαρχὴν εἰς σωτηρίαν ἐν ἁγιασμῷ πνεύματος καὶ πίστει ἀληθείας,
  
  14 εἰς ὃ ἐκάλεσεν ὑμᾶς διὰ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου ἡμῶν, εἰς περιποίησιν δόξης τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ.
  
  15 ἄρα οὖν, ἀδελφοί, στήκετε, καὶ κρατεῖτε τὰς παραδόσεις ἃς ἐδιδάχθητε εἴτε διὰ λόγου εἴτε δι’ ἐπιστολῆς ἡμῶν.
  
  16 Αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς καὶ θεὸς ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν, ὁ ἀγαπήσας ἡμᾶς καὶ δοὺς παράκλησιν αἰωνίαν καὶ ἐλπίδα ἀγαθὴν ἐν χάριτι,
  
  17 παρακαλέσαι ὑμῶν τὰς καρδίας καὶ στηρίξαι ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ καὶ λόγῳ ἀγαθῷ.
