- 2 Rois 4
  
  1 Et une femme d'entre les femmes des fils des prophètes cria à Élisée, disant : Ton serviteur, mon mari, est mort ; et tu sais que ton serviteur craignait l'Éternel ; et le créancier est venu pour prendre mes deux enfants, afin qu'ils soient ses serviteurs.
  
  2 Et Élisée lui dit : Que ferai-je pour toi ? Dis-moi ce que tu as à la maison. Et elle dit : Ta servante n'a rien du tout dans la maison qu'un pot d'huile.
  
  3 Et il dit : Va, demande pour toi, du dehors, des vases à tous tes voisins, des vases vides (n'en demande pas peu) ;
  
  4 et rentre, et ferme la porte sur toi et sur tes fils, et verse dans tous ces vases, et ôte ceux qui seront remplis.
  
  5 Et elle s'en alla d'auprès de lui, et elle ferma la porte sur elle et sur ses fils : ceux-ci lui apportaient les vases, et elle versait.
  
  6 Et il arriva que, quand les vases furent remplis, elle dit à son fils : Apporte-moi encore un vase. Et il lui dit : Il n'y a plus de vase. Et l'huile s'arrêta.
  
  7 Et elle s'en vint et le raconta à l'homme de Dieu, et il dit : Va, vends l'huile, et paye ta dette ; et vous vivrez, toi et tes fils, de ce qui restera.
  
  8 Et, un jour, il arriva qu'Élisée passa par Sunem ; et il y avait là une femme riche, et elle le retint pour manger le pain. Et il se trouva que chaque fois qu'il passait, il se retirait là pour manger le pain.
  
  9 Et elle dit à son mari : Voici, je connais que c'est un saint homme de Dieu qui passe chez nous continuellement.
  
  10 Faisons, je te prie, une petite chambre haute en maçonnerie, et mettons-y pour lui un lit, et une table, et un siège, et un chandelier ; et il arrivera que quand il viendra chez nous, il se retirera là.
  
  11 Or, un jour, il arriva qu'il vint là, et qu'il se retira dans la chambre haute et y coucha.
  
  12 Et il dit à Guéhazi, son jeune homme : Appelle cette Sunamite. Et il l'appela, et elle se tint devant lui.
  
  13 Et il dit à Guéhazi : Dis-lui, je te prie : Voici, tu as montré pour nous tout cet empressement ; qu'y a-t-il à faire pour toi ? Faut-il parler pour toi au roi, ou au chef de l'armée ? Et elle dit : J'habite au milieu de mon peuple.
  
  14 Et il dit : Qu'y a-t-il donc à faire pour elle ? Et Guéhazi dit : Eh bien, elle n'a pas de fils, et son mari est vieux.
  
  15 Et Élisée dit : Appelle-la. Et il l'appela. Et elle se tint dans la porte.
  
  16 Et il lui dit : A cette même époque, quand ton terme sera là, tu embrasseras un fils. Et elle dit : Non, mon seigneur, homme de Dieu, ne mens pas à ta servante !
  
  17 Et la femme conçut, et enfanta un fils à cette même époque, quand son terme fut là, comme Élisée lui avait dit.
  
  18 Et l'enfant grandit : et il arriva qu'un jour il sortit vers son père, vers les moissonneurs ; et il dit à son père : Ma tête ! ma tête !
  
  19 Et le père dit au serviteur : Porte-le à sa mère.
  
  20 Et il l'emporta, et l'amena à sa mère ; et il resta sur ses genoux jusqu'à midi, et mourut.
  
  21 Et elle monta, et le coucha sur le lit de l'homme de Dieu ; et elle ferma la porte sur lui, et sortit.
  
  22 Et elle appela son mari, et dit : Envoie-moi, je te prie, un des jeunes hommes, et une des ânesses, et je courrai jusqu'à l'homme de Dieu ; et je reviendrai.
  
  23 Et il dit : Pourquoi vas-tu vers lui aujourd'hui ? Ce n'est ni nouvelle lune ni sabbat. Et elle dit : Tout va bien.
  
  24 Et elle fit seller l'ânesse, et dit à son jeune homme : Mène-la, et marche ; ne m'arrête pas dans la course, à moins que je ne te le dise.
  
  25 Et elle s'en alla, et vint vers l'homme de Dieu, sur la montagne du Carmel. Et il arriva que, quand l'homme de Dieu la vit de loin, il dit à Guéhazi, son jeune homme : Voici cette Sunamite !
  
  26 Cours maintenant, je te prie, à sa rencontre, et dis-lui : Tout va-t-il bien ? Ton mari va-t-il bien ? L'enfant va-t-il bien ? Et elle dit : Bien.
  
  27 Et elle vint vers l'homme de Dieu sur la montagne, et elle le saisit par les pieds ; et Guéhazi s'approcha pour la repousser ; et l'homme de Dieu dit : Laisse-la, car son âme est dans l'amertume, et l'Éternel me l'a caché et ne me l'a pas déclaré.
  
  28 Alors elle dit : Ai-je demandé un fils à mon seigneur ? N'ai-je pas dit : Ne me trompe pas ?
  
  29 Et il dit à Guéhazi : Ceins tes reins, et prends mon bâton en ta main, et va-t'en : si tu trouves quelqu'un, ne le salue pas, et si quelqu'un te salue, ne lui réponds pas, et tu mettras mon bâton sur le visage du jeune garçon.
  
  30 Et la mère du jeune garçon dit : L'Éternel est vivant, et ton âme est vivante, que je ne te laisserai point ! Et il se leva, et s'en alla après elle.
  
  31 Et Guéhazi les devança, et il mit le bâton sur le visage du jeune garçon, mais il n'y eut pas de voix, pas de signe d'attention. Et il s'en retourna à la rencontre d'Élisée, et lui rapporta, disant : Le jeune garçon ne s'est pas réveillé.
  
  32 Et Élisée entra dans la maison, et voici, le jeune garçon était mort, couché sur son lit.
  
  33 Et il entra, et ferma la porte sur eux deux, et supplia l'Éternel.
  
  34 Et il monta, et se coucha sur l'enfant, et mit sa bouche sur sa bouche, et ses yeux sur ses yeux, et ses mains sur ses mains, et se courba sur lui ; et la chair de l'enfant se réchauffa.
  
  35 Et il se retirait et allait par la maison, tantôt ici, tantôt là ; et il montait, et se courbait sur lui. Et le jeune garçon éternua sept fois, et le jeune garçon ouvrit ses yeux.
  
  36 Et Élisée appela Guéhazi, et lui dit : Appelle cette Sunamite. Et il l'appela, et elle vint vers lui.
  
  37 Et il dit : Prends ton fils. Et elle vint et tomba à ses pieds, et se prosterna en terre ; et elle prit son fils et sortit.
  
  38 Et Élisée retourna à Guilgal. Or il y avait une famine dans le pays. Et les fils des prophètes étaient assis devant lui ; et il dit à son jeune homme : Mets la grande marmite, et cuis un potage pour les fils des prophètes.
  
  39 Et l'un d'eux sortit aux champs pour cueillir des herbes, et il trouva de la vigne sauvage et y cueillit des coloquintes sauvages, plein sa robe ; et il rentra et les coupa en morceaux dans la marmite du potage, car on ne les connaissait pas.
  
  40 Et on versa à manger aux hommes ; et il arriva que, comme ils mangeaient du potage, on cria et dit : Homme de Dieu, la mort est dans la marmite ! Et ils n'en pouvaient manger.
  
  41 Et il dit : Apportez de la farine. Et il la jeta dans la marmite, et dit : Verses-en à ce peuple, et qu'ils mangent. Et il n'y avait rien de mauvais dans la marmite.
  
  42 Et il vint de Baal-Shalisha un homme qui apporta à l'homme de Dieu du pain des premiers fruits, vingt pains d'orge et du grain en épi dans son sac. Et Élisée dit : Donne cela au peuple, et qu'ils mangent.
  
  43 Et celui qui le servait dit : Comment mettrai-je ceci devant cent hommes ? Et il dit : Donne-le au peuple, et qu'ils mangent ; car ainsi dit l'Éternel : On mangera, et il y en aura de reste.
  
  44 Et il le mit devant eux, et ils mangèrent, et ils en eurent de reste, selon la parole de l'Éternel.
  
  Daniel 8
  
  1 La troisième année du règne de Belshatsar le roi, une vision m'apparut, à moi, Daniel, après celle qui m'était apparue au commencement.
  
  2 Et je vis dans la vision ; et il arriva, quand je vis, que j'étais à Suse, le palais, qui est dans la province d'Élam. Et je vis dans la vision, et j'étais près du fleuve Ulaï.
  
  3 Et je levai les yeux, et je vis ; et voici, un bélier se tenait devant le fleuve, et il avait deux cornes ; et les deux cornes étaient hautes, et l'une était plus haute que l'autre, et la plus haute s'éleva la dernière.
  
  4 Je vis le bélier heurtant vers l'occident, et vers le nord, et vers le midi ; et aucune bête ne pouvait tenir devant lui, et il n'y avait personne qui pût délivrer de sa main ; et il fit selon son gré, et devint grand.
  
  5 Et je considérais, et voici, un bouc venant du couchant sur la face de toute la terre, et qui ne touchait pas la terre ; et le bouc avait une corne de grande apparence entre ses yeux.
  
  6 Et il vint jusqu'au bélier qui avait les deux cornes, que j'avais vu se tenir devant le fleuve, et courut sur lui dans la fureur de sa force.
  
  7 Et je le vis arriver tout près du bélier, et il s'exaspéra contre lui et frappa le bélier, et brisa ses deux cornes, et le bélier fut sans force pour tenir devant lui : il le jeta par terre et le foula aux pieds, et il n'y eut personne qui pût délivrer le bélier de sa main.
  
  8 Et le bouc devint très-grand ; et lorsqu'il fut devenu fort, la grande corne fut brisée, et quatre cornes de grande apparence s'élevèrent à sa place, vers les quatre vents des cieux.
  
  9 Et de l'une d'elles sortit une petite corne, et elle grandit extrêmement vers le midi, et vers le levant, et vers le pays de beauté.
  
  10 Et elle grandit jusqu'à l'armée des cieux, et fit tomber à terre une partie de l'armée et des étoiles, et les foula aux pieds.
  
  11 Et elle s'éleva jusqu'au chef de l'armée ; et le sacrifice continuel fut ôté à celui-ci, et le lieu de son sanctuaire fut renversé.
  
  12 (Et un temps de détresse fut assigné au sacrifice continuel, pour cause de transgression.) Et elle jeta la vérité par terre, et agit, et prospéra.
  
  13 Et j'entendis un saint qui parlait ; et un autre saint dit au personnage qui parlait : Jusqu'où va la vision du sacrifice continuel et de la transgression qui désole, pour livrer le lieu saint et l'armée pour être foulés aux pieds ?
  
  14 Et il me dit : Jusqu'à deux mille trois cents soirs et matins ; alors le lieu saint sera purifié.
  
  15 Et il arriva que, lorsque moi, Daniel, j'eus vu la vision, j'en cherchai l'intelligence ; et voici, comme l'apparence d'un homme se tint vis-à-vis de moi ;
  
  16 et j'entendis la voix d'un homme au milieu de l'Ulaï ; et il cria et dit : Gabriel, fais comprendre à celui-ci la vision.
  
  17 Et il vint près du lieu où j'étais, et quand il vint, je fus effrayé et je tombai sur ma face ; et il me dit : Comprends, fils d'homme, car la vision est pour le temps de la fin.
  
  18 Or, comme il parlait avec moi, j'étais dans une profonde stupeur, ma face contre la terre ; et il me toucha et me fit tenir debout à la place où j'étais.
  
  19 Et il dit : Voici, je te fais connaître ce qui aura lieu à la fin de l'indignation ; car à un temps déterminé sera la fin.
  
  20 Le bélier que tu as vu, qui avait deux cornes, ce sont les rois de Médie et de Perse.
  
  21 Et le bouc velu, c'est le roi de Javan ; et la grande corne qui était entre ses yeux, c'est le premier roi ;
  
  22 et qu'elle ait été brisée et que quatre autres cornes se soient élevées à sa place, c'est que quatre royaumes s'élèveront de la nation, mais non avec sa puissance.
  
  23 Et au dernier temps de leur royaume, quand les transgresseurs auront comblé la mesure, il s'élèvera un roi au visage audacieux, et entendant les énigmes ;
  
  24 et sa puissance sera forte, mais non par sa propre puissance ; et il détruira merveilleusement, et il prospérera et agira ; et il détruira les hommes forts et le peuple des saints ;
  
  25 et, par son intelligence, il fera prospérer la fraude dans sa main ; et il s'élèvera dans son coeur ; et, par la prospérité il corrompra beaucoup de gens ; et il se lèvera contre le prince des princes, mais il sera brisé sans main.
  
  26 Et la vision du soir et du matin, qui a été dite, est vérité. Et toi, serre la vision, car elle est pour beaucoup de jours.
  
  27 Et moi, Daniel, je défaillis, et je fus malade quelques jours ; puis je me levai, et je m'occupai des affaires du roi. Et je fus stupéfié de la vision, mais personne ne la comprit.
  
  1 Timothée 1
  
  1 Paul, apôtre de Jésus Christ, selon le commandement de Dieu notre Sauveur et du Christ Jésus notre espérance,
  
  2 à Timothée, mon véritable enfant dans la foi : Grâce, miséricorde, paix, de la part de Dieu le Père et du Christ Jésus notre Seigneur !
  
  3 Comme je t'ai prié de rester à Éphèse lorsque j'allais en Macédoine, afin que tu ordonnasses à certaines personnes de ne pas enseigner des doctrines étrangères,
  
  4 et de ne pas s'attacher aux fables et aux généalogies interminables, qui produisent des disputes plutôt que l'administration de Dieu, qui est par la foi....
  
  5 Or la fin de l'ordonnance, c'est l'amour qui procède d'un coeur pur et d'une bonne conscience et d'une foi sincère,
  
  6 dont quelques-uns s'étant écartés, se sont détournés à un vain babil,
  
  7 voulant être docteurs de la loi, n'entendant ni ce qu'ils disent, ni ce sur quoi ils insistent.
  
  8 Mais nous savons que la loi est bonne, si quelqu'un en use légitimement,
  
  9 sachant ceci, que la loi n'est pas pour le juste, mais pour les iniques et les insubordonnés, pour les impies et les pécheurs, pour les gens sans piété et les profanes, pour les batteurs de père et les batteurs de mère, pour les homicides,
  
  10 pour les fornicateurs, pour ceux qui abusent d'eux-mêmes avec des hommes, pour les voleurs d'hommes, les menteurs, les parjures, et s'il y a quelque autre chose qui soit opposée à la saine doctrine,
  
  11 suivant l'évangile de la gloire du Dieu bienheureux, qui m'a été confié.
  
  12 Et je rends grâces au Christ Jésus, notre Seigneur, qui m'a fortifié, de ce qu'il m'a estimé fidèle, m'ayant établi dans le service,
  
  13 moi qui auparavant étais un blasphémateur, et un persécuteur, et un outrageux ; mais miséricorde m'a été faite, parce que j'ai agi dans l'ignorance, dans l'incrédulité ;
  
  14 et la grâce de notre Seigneur a surabondé avec la foi et l'amour qui est dans le Christ Jésus.
  
  15 Cette parole est certaine et digne de toute acceptation, que le Christ Jésus est venu dans le monde pour sauver les pécheurs, dont moi je suis le premier.
  
  16 Mais miséricorde m'a été faite, à cause de ceci, savoir, afin qu'en moi, le premier, Jésus Christ montrât toute sa patience, afin que je fusse un exemple de ceux qui viendront à croire en lui pour la vie éternelle.
  
  17 Or, qu'au roi des siècles, l'incorruptible, invisible, seul Dieu, soit honneur et gloire aux siècles des siècles ! Amen.
  
  18 Je te confie cette ordonnance, mon enfant Timothée, selon les prophéties qui ont été précédemment faites à ton sujet, afin que par elles tu combattes le bon combat,
  
  19 gardant la foi et une bonne conscience, que quelques-uns ayant rejetée, ils ont fait naufrage quant à la foi ;
  
  20 du nombre desquels sont Hyménée et Alexandre, que j'ai livrés à Satan, afin qu'ils apprennent à ne pas blasphémer.

  1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead. You know that your servant feared Yahweh. Now the creditor has come to take for himself my two children to be slaves."
  
  2 Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me: what do you have in the house?" She said, "Your handmaid has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil."
  
  3 Then he said, "Go, borrow containers from of all your neighbors, even empty containers. Don't borrow just a few.
  
  4 You shall go in, and shut the door on you and on your sons, and pour out into all those containers; and you shall set aside that which is full."
  
  5 So she went from him, and shut the door on her and on her sons; they brought the containers to her, and she poured out.
  
  6 It happened, when the containers were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another container." He said to her, "There isn't another container." The oil stopped flowing.
  
  7 Then she came and told the man of God. He said, "Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest."
  
  8 It fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.
  
  9 She said to her husband, "See now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, that passes by us continually.
  
  10 Please let us make a little room on the wall. Let us set for him there a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp stand. It shall be, when he comes to us, that he shall turn in there."
  
  11 One day he came there, and he turned into the room and lay there.
  
  12 He said to Gehazi his servant, "Call this Shunammite." When he had called her, she stood before him.
  
  13 He said to him, "Say now to her, 'Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?'" She answered, "I dwell among my own people."
  
  14 He said, "What then is to be done for her?" Gehazi answered, "Most certainly she has no son, and her husband is old."
  
  15 He said, "Call her." When he had called her, she stood in the door.
  
  16 He said, "At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son." She said, "No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your handmaid."
  
  17 The woman conceived, and bore a son at that season, when the time came around, as Elisha had said to her.
  
  18 When the child was grown, it happened one day that he went out to his father to the reapers.
  
  19 He said to his father, "My head! My head!" He said to his servant, "Carry him to his mother."
  
  20 When he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees until noon, and then died.
  
  21 She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door on him, and went out.
  
  22 She called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the servants, and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God, and come again."
  
  23 He said, "Why would you want go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath." She said, "It's alright."
  
  24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, "Drive, and go forward! Don't slow down for me, unless I ask you to."
  
  25 So she went, and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. It happened, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, "Behold, there is the Shunammite.
  
  26 Please run now to meet her, and ask her, 'Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?'" She answered, "It is well."
  
  27 When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, "Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me."
  
  28 Then she said, "Did I desire a son of my lord? Didn't I say, Do not deceive me?"
  
  29 Then he said to Gehazi, "Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand, and go your way. If you meet any man, don't greet him; and if anyone greets you, don't answer him again. Then lay my staff on the face of the child."
  
  30 The mother of the child said, "As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you." He arose, and followed her.
  
  31 Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff on the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Therefore he returned to meet him, and told him, saying, "The child has not awakened."
  
  32 When Elisha had come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid on his bed.
  
  33 He went in therefore, and shut the door on them both, and prayed to Yahweh.
  
  34 He went up, and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. He stretched himself on him; and the flesh of the child grew warm.
  
  35 Then he returned, and walked in the house once back and forth; and went up, and stretched himself on him. Then the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
  
  36 He called Gehazi, and said, "Call this Shunammite!" So he called her. When she had come in to him, he said, "Take up your son."
  
  37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground; and she took up her son, and went out.
  
  38 Elisha came again to Gilgal. There was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, "Set on the great pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets."
  
  39 One went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered of it wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of stew; for they didn't recognize them.
  
  40 So they poured out for the men to eat. It happened, as they were eating of the stew, that they cried out, and said, "Man of God, there is death in the pot!" They could not eat of it.
  
  41 But he said, "Then bring meal." He cast it into the pot; and he said, "Pour out for the people, that they may eat." There was no harm in the pot.
  
  42 A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. He said, "Give to the people, that they may eat."
  
  43 His servant said, "What, should I set this before a hundred men?" But he said, "Give the people, that they may eat; for thus says Yahweh, 'They will eat, and will have some left over.'"
  
  44 So he set it before them, and they ate, and left some of it, according to the word of Yahweh.
  
  Daniel 8
  
  1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
  
  2 I saw in the vision; now it was so, that when I saw, I was in the citadel of Susa, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision, and I was by the river Ulai.
  
  3 Then I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
  
  4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; and no animals could stand before him, neither was there any who could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and magnified himself.
  
  5 As I was considering, behold, a male goat came from the west over the surface of the whole earth, and didn't touch the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
  
  6 He came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river, and ran on him in the fury of his power.
  
  7 I saw him come close to the ram, and he was moved with anger against him, and struck the ram, and broke his two horns; and there was no power in the ram to stand before him; but he cast him down to the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none who could deliver the ram out of his hand.
  
  8 The male goat magnified himself exceedingly: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and instead of it there came up four notable [horns] toward the four winds of the sky.
  
  9 Out of one of them came forth a little horn, which grew exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the glorious [land].
  
  10 It grew great, even to the army of the sky; and some of the army and of the stars it cast down to the ground, and trampled on them.
  
  11 Yes, it magnified itself, even to the prince of the army; and it took away from him the continual [burnt offering], and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
  
  12 The army was given over [to it] together with the continual [burnt offering] through disobedience; and it cast down truth to the ground, and it did [its pleasure] and prospered.
  
  13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who spoke, How long shall be the vision [concerning] the continual [burnt offering], and the disobedience that makes desolate, to give both the sanctuary and the army to be trodden under foot?
  
  14 He said to me, To two thousand and three hundred evenings [and] mornings; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
  
  15 It happened, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it; and behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
  
  16 I heard a man's voice between [the banks of] the Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
  
  17 So he came near where I stood; and when he came, I was frightened, and fell on my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man; for the vision belongs to the time of the end.
  
  18 Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground; but he touched me, and set me upright.
  
  19 He said, Behold, I will make you know what shall be in the latter time of the indignation; for it belongs to the appointed time of the end.
  
  20 The ram which you saw, that had the two horns, they are the kings of Media and Persia.
  
  21 The rough male goat is the king of Greece: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.
  
  22 As for that which was broken, in the place where four stood up, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not with his power.
  
  23 In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have come to the full, a king of fierce face, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
  
  24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper and do [his pleasure]; and he shall destroy the mighty ones and the holy people.
  
  25 Through his policy he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in [their] security shall he destroy many: he shall also stand up against the prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
  
  26 The vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true: but seal up the vision; for it belongs to many days [to come].
  
  27 I, Daniel, fainted, and was sick certain days; then I rose up, and did the king's business: and I wondered at the vision, but none understood it.

  1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and Christ Jesus our hope;
  
  2 to Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
  
  3 As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain men not to teach a different doctrine,
  
  4 neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith--
  
  5 but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith;
  
  6 from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking;
  
  7 desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm.
  
  8 But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully,
  
  9 as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
  
  10 for the sexually immoral, for homosexuals, for slave-traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
  
  11 according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
  
  12 And I thank him who enabled me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to service;
  
  13 although I was before a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
  
  14 The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
  
  15 The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
  
  16 However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience, for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.
  
  17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
  
  18 This instruction I commit to you, my child Timothy, according to the prophecies which led the way to you, that by them you may wage the good warfare;
  
  19 holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith;
  
  20 of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I delivered to Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.

  4 וּבָ֗את וְסָגַ֤רְתְּ הַדֶּ֙לֶת֙ בַּעֲדֵ֣ךְ וּבְעַד־בָּנַ֔יִךְ וְיָצַ֕קְתְּ עַ֥ל כָּל־הַכֵּלִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה וְהַמָּלֵ֖א תַּסִּֽיעִי׃
  
  5 וַתֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ מֵֽאִתּ֔וֹ וַתִּסְגֹּ֣ר הַדֶּ֔לֶת בַּעֲדָ֖הּ וּבְעַ֣ד בָּנֶ֑יהָ הֵ֛ם מַגִּשִׁ֥ים אֵלֶ֖יהָ וְהִ֥יא *מיצקת **מוֹצָֽקֶת׃
  
  6 וַיְהִ֣י ׀ כִּמְלֹ֣את הַכֵּלִ֗ים וַתֹּ֤אמֶר אֶל־בְּנָהּ֙ הַגִּ֨ישָׁה אֵלַ֥י עוֹד֙ כֶּ֔לִי וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלֶ֔יהָ אֵ֥ין ע֖וֹד כֶּ֑לִי וַֽיַּעֲמֹ֖ד הַשָּֽׁמֶן׃
  
  7 וַתָּבֹ֗א וַתַּגֵּד֙ לְאִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לְכִי֙ מִכְרִ֣י אֶת־הַשֶּׁ֔מֶן וְשַׁלְּמִ֖י אֶת־*נשיכי **נִשְׁיֵ֑ךְ וְאַ֣תְּ *בניכי **וּבָנַ֔יִךְ תִֽחְיִ֖י בַּנּוֹתָֽר׃
  
  8 וַיְהִ֨י הַיּ֜וֹם וַיַּעֲבֹ֧ר אֱלִישָׁ֣ע אֶל־שׁוּנֵ֗ם וְשָׁם֙ אִשָּׁ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וַתַּחֲזֶק־בּ֖וֹ לֶאֱכָל־לָ֑חֶם וַֽיְהִי֙ מִדֵּ֣י עָבְר֔וֹ יָסֻ֥ר שָׁ֖מָּה לֶאֱכָל־לָֽחֶם׃
  
  9 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־אִישָׁ֔הּ הִנֵּה־נָ֣א יָדַ֔עְתִּי כִּ֛י אִ֥ישׁ אֱלֹהִ֖ים קָד֣וֹשׁ ה֑וּא עֹבֵ֥ר עָלֵ֖ינוּ תָּמִֽיד׃
  
  10 נַֽעֲשֶׂה־נָּ֤א עֲלִיַּת־קִיר֙ קְטַנָּ֔ה וְנָשִׂ֨ים ל֥וֹ שָׁ֛ם מִטָּ֥ה וְשֻׁלְחָ֖ן וְכִסֵּ֣א וּמְנוֹרָ֑ה וְהָיָ֛ה בְּבֹא֥וֹ אֵלֵ֖ינוּ יָס֥וּר שָֽׁמָּה׃
  
  11 וַיְהִ֥י הַיּ֖וֹם וַיָּ֣בֹא שָׁ֑מָּה וַיָּ֥סַר אֶל־הָעֲלִיָּ֖ה וַיִּשְׁכַּב־שָֽׁמָּה׃
  
  12 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־גֵּחֲזִ֣י נַעֲר֔וֹ קְרָ֖א לַשּׁוּנַמִּ֣ית הַזֹּ֑את וַיִּקְרָא־לָ֔הּ וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד לְפָנָֽיו׃
  
  13 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ל֗וֹ אֱמָר־נָ֣א אֵלֶיהָ֮ הִנֵּ֣ה חָרַ֣דְתְּ ׀ אֵלֵינוּ֮ אֶת־כָּל־הַחֲרָדָ֣ה הַזֹּאת֒ מֶ֚ה לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָ֔ךְ הֲיֵ֤שׁ לְדַבֶּר־לָךְ֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ א֖וֹ אֶל־שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֑א וַתֹּ֕אמֶר בְּת֥וֹךְ עַמִּ֖י אָנֹכִ֥י יֹשָֽׁבֶת׃
  
  14 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר וּמֶ֖ה לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָ֑הּ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר גֵּיחֲזִ֗י אֲבָ֛ל בֵּ֥ן אֵֽין־לָ֖הּ וְאִישָׁ֥הּ זָקֵֽן׃
  
  15 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר קְרָא־לָ֑הּ וַיִּקְרָא־לָ֔הּ וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד בַּפָּֽתַח׃
  
  16 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד הַזֶּה֙ כָּעֵ֣ת חַיָּ֔ה *אתי **אַ֖תְּ חֹבֶ֣קֶת בֵּ֑ן וַתֹּ֗אמֶר אַל־אֲדֹנִי֙ אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים אַל־תְּכַזֵּ֖ב בְּשִׁפְחָתֶֽךָ׃
  
  17 וַתַּ֥הַר הָאִשָּׁ֖ה וַתֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֑ן לַמּוֹעֵ֤ד הַזֶּה֙ כָּעֵ֣ת חַיָּ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלֶ֖יהָ אֱלִישָֽׁע׃
  
  18 וַיִּגְדַּ֖ל הַיָּ֑לֶד וַיְהִ֣י הַיּ֔וֹם וַיֵּצֵ֥א אֶל־אָבִ֖יו אֶל־הַקֹּצְרִֽים׃
  
  19 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר אֶל־אָבִ֖יו רֹאשִׁ֣י ׀ רֹאשִׁ֑י וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הַנַּ֔עַר שָׂאֵ֖הוּ אֶל־אִמּֽוֹ׃
  
  20 וַיִּשָּׂאֵ֔הוּ וַיְבִיאֵ֖הוּ אֶל־אִמּ֑וֹ וַיֵּ֧שֶׁב עַל־בִּרְכֶּ֛יהָ עַד־הַֽצָּהֳרַ֖יִם וַיָּמֹֽת׃
  
  21 וַתַּ֙עַל֙ וַתַּשְׁכִּבֵ֔הוּ עַל־מִטַּ֖ת אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתִּסְגֹּ֥ר בַּעֲד֖וֹ וַתֵּצֵֽא׃
  
  22 וַתִּקְרָא֮ אֶל־אִישָׁהּ֒ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר שִׁלְחָ֨ה נָ֥א לִי֙ אֶחָ֣ד מִן־הַנְּעָרִ֔ים וְאַחַ֖ת הָאֲתֹנ֑וֹת וְאָר֛וּצָה עַד־אִ֥ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים וְאָשֽׁוּבָה׃
  
  23 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר מַ֠דּוּעַ *אתי **אַ֣תְּ *הלכתי **הֹלֶ֤כֶת אֵלָיו֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹֽא־חֹ֖דֶשׁ וְלֹ֣א שַׁבָּ֑ת וַתֹּ֖אמֶר שָׁלֽוֹם׃
  
  24 וַֽתַּחֲבֹשׁ֙ הָֽאָת֔וֹן וַתֹּ֥אמֶר אֶֽל־נַעֲרָ֖הּ נְהַ֣ג וָלֵ֑ךְ אַל־תַּעֲצָר־לִ֣י לִרְכֹּ֔ב כִּ֖י אִם־אָמַ֥רְתִּי לָֽךְ׃
  
  25 וַתֵּ֗לֶךְ וַתָּב֛וֹא אֶל־אִ֥ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־הַ֣ר הַכַּרְמֶ֑ל וַ֠יְהִי כִּרְא֨וֹת אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִ֤ים אֹתָהּ֙ מִנֶּ֔גֶד וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־גֵּיחֲזִ֣י נַעֲר֔וֹ הִנֵּ֖ה הַשּׁוּנַמִּ֥ית הַלָּֽז׃
  
  26 עַתָּה֮ רֽוּץ־נָ֣א לִקְרָאתָהּ֒ וֶאֱמָר־לָ֗הּ הֲשָׁל֥וֹם לָ֛ךְ הֲשָׁל֥וֹם לְאִישֵׁ֖ךְ הֲשָׁל֣וֹם לַיָּ֑לֶד וַתֹּ֖אמֶר שָׁלֽוֹם׃
  
  27 וַתָּבֹ֞א אֶל־אִ֤ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־הָהָ֔ר וַֽתַּחֲזֵ֖ק בְּרַגְלָ֑יו וַיִּגַּ֨שׁ גֵּֽיחֲזִ֜י לְהָדְפָ֗הּ וַיֹּאמֶר֩ אִ֨ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֤ים הַרְפֵּֽה־לָהּ֙ כִּֽי־נַפְשָׁ֣הּ מָֽרָה־לָ֔הּ וַֽיהוָה֙ הֶעְלִ֣ים מִמֶּ֔נִּי וְלֹ֥א הִגִּ֖יד לִֽי׃
  
  28 וַתֹּ֕אמֶר הֲשָׁאַ֥לְתִּי בֵ֖ן מֵאֵ֣ת אֲדֹנִ֑י הֲלֹ֣א אָמַ֔רְתִּי לֹ֥א תַשְׁלֶ֖ה אֹתִֽי׃
  
  29 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לְגֵיחֲזִ֜י חֲגֹ֣ר מָתְנֶ֗יךָ וְקַ֨ח מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֣י בְיָדְךָ֮ וָלֵךְ֒ כִּֽי־תִמְצָ֥א אִישׁ֙ לֹ֣א תְבָרְכֶ֔נּוּ וְכִֽי־יְבָרֶכְךָ֥ אִ֖ישׁ לֹ֣א תַעֲנֶנּ֑וּ וְשַׂמְתָּ֥ מִשְׁעַנְתִּ֖י עַל־פְּנֵ֥י הַנָּֽעַר׃
  
  30 וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֵ֣ם הַנַּ֔עַר חַי־יְהוָ֥ה וְחֵֽי־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ אִם־אֶעֶזְבֶ֑ךָּ וַיָּ֖קָם וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ אַחֲרֶֽיהָ׃
  
  31 וְגֵחֲזִ֞י עָבַ֣ר לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם וַיָּ֤שֶׂם אֶת־הַמִּשְׁעֶ֙נֶת֙ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הַנַּ֔עַר וְאֵ֥ין ק֖וֹל וְאֵ֣ין קָ֑שֶׁב וַיָּ֤שָׁב לִקְרָאתוֹ֙ וַיַּגֶּד־ל֣וֹ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֥א הֵקִ֖יץ הַנָּֽעַר׃
  
  32 וַיָּבֹ֥א אֱלִישָׁ֖ע הַבָּ֑יְתָה וְהִנֵּ֤ה הַנַּ֙עַר֙ מֵ֔ת מֻשְׁכָּ֖ב עַל־מִטָּתֽוֹ׃
  
  33 וַיָּבֹ֕א וַיִּסְגֹּ֥ר הַדֶּ֖לֶת בְּעַ֣ד שְׁנֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֖ל אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃
  
  34 וַיַּ֜עַל וַיִּשְׁכַּ֣ב עַל־הַיֶּ֗לֶד וַיָּשֶׂם֩ פִּ֨יו עַל־פִּ֜יו וְעֵינָ֤יו עַל־עֵינָיו֙ וְכַפָּ֣יו עַל־*כפו **כַּפָּ֔יו וַיִּגְהַ֖ר עָלָ֑יו וַיָּ֖חָם בְּשַׂ֥ר הַיָּֽלֶד׃
  
  35 וַיָּ֜שָׁב וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ בַּבַּ֗יִת אַחַ֥ת הֵ֙נָּה֙ וְאַחַ֣ת הֵ֔נָּה וַיַּ֖עַל וַיִּגְהַ֣ר עָלָ֑יו וַיְזוֹרֵ֤ר הַנַּ֙עַר֙ עַד־שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֔ים וַיִּפְקַ֥ח הַנַּ֖עַר אֶת־עֵינָֽיו׃
  
  36 וַיִּקְרָ֣א אֶל־גֵּיחֲזִ֗י וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ קְרָא֙ אֶל־הַשֻּׁנַמִּ֣ית הַזֹּ֔את וַיִּקְרָאֶ֖הָ וַתָּב֣וֹא אֵלָ֑יו וַיֹּ֖אמֶר שְׂאִ֥י בְנֵֽךְ׃
  
  37 וַתָּבֹא֙ וַתִּפֹּ֣ל עַל־רַגְלָ֔יו וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ אָ֑רְצָה וַתִּשָּׂ֥א אֶת־בְּנָ֖הּ וַתֵּצֵֽא׃
  
  38 וֶאֱלִישָׁ֞ע שָׁ֤ב הַגִּלְגָּ֙לָה֙ וְהָרָעָ֣ב בָּאָ֔רֶץ וּבְנֵי֙ הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים יֹשְׁבִ֖ים לְפָנָ֑יו וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לְנַעֲר֗וֹ שְׁפֹת֙ הַסִּ֣יר הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה וּבַשֵּׁ֥ל נָזִ֖יד לִבְנֵ֥י הַנְּבִיאִֽים׃
  
  39 וַיֵּצֵ֨א אֶחָ֣ד אֶל־הַשָּׂדֶה֮ לְלַקֵּ֣ט אֹרֹת֒ וַיִּמְצָא֙ גֶּ֣פֶן שָׂדֶ֔ה וַיְלַקֵּ֥ט מִמֶּ֛נּוּ פַּקֻּעֹ֥ת שָׂדֶ֖ה מְלֹ֣א בִגְד֑וֹ וַיָּבֹ֗א וַיְפַלַּ֛ח אֶל־סִ֥יר הַנָּזִ֖יד כִּֽי־לֹ֥א יָדָֽעוּ׃

  5 וַאֲנִ֣י ׀ הָיִ֣יתִי מֵבִ֗ין וְהִנֵּ֤ה צְפִיר־הָֽעִזִּים֙ בָּ֤א מִן־הַֽמַּעֲרָב֙ עַל־פְּנֵ֣י כָל־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְאֵ֥ין נוֹגֵ֖עַ בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְהַ֨צָּפִ֔יר קֶ֥רֶן חָז֖וּת בֵּ֥ין עֵינָֽיו׃
  
  6 וַיָּבֹ֗א עַד־הָאַ֙יִל֙ בַּ֣עַל הַקְּרָנַ֔יִם אֲשֶׁ֣ר רָאִ֔יתִי עֹמֵ֖ד לִפְנֵ֣י הָאֻבָ֑ל וַיָּ֥רָץ אֵלָ֖יו בַּחֲמַ֥ת כֹּחֽוֹ׃
  
  7 וּרְאִיתִ֞יו מַגִּ֣יעַ ׀ אֵ֣צֶל הָאַ֗יִל וַיִּתְמַרְמַ֤ר אֵלָיו֙ וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת־הָאַ֔יִל וַיְשַׁבֵּר֙ אֶת־שְׁתֵּ֣י קְרָנָ֔יו וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה כֹ֛חַ בָּאַ֖יִל לַעֲמֹ֣ד לְפָנָ֑יו וַיַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤הוּ אַ֙רְצָה֙ וַֽיִּרְמְסֵ֔הוּ וְלֹא־הָיָ֥ה מַצִּ֛יל לָאַ֖יִל מִיָּדֽוֹ׃
  
  8 וּצְפִ֥יר הָעִזִּ֖ים הִגְדִּ֣יל עַד־מְאֹ֑ד וּכְעָצְמ֗וֹ נִשְׁבְּרָה֙ הַקֶּ֣רֶן הַגְּדוֹלָ֔ה וַֽתַּעֲלֶ֜נָה חָז֤וּת אַרְבַּע֙ תַּחְתֶּ֔יהָ לְאַרְבַּ֖ע רוּח֥וֹת הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
  
  9 וּמִן־הָאַחַ֣ת מֵהֶ֔ם יָצָ֥א קֶֽרֶן־אַחַ֖ת מִצְּעִירָ֑ה וַתִּגְדַּל־יֶ֛תֶר אֶל־הַנֶּ֥גֶב וְאֶל־הַמִּזְרָ֖ח וְאֶל־הַצֶּֽבִי׃
  
  10 וַתִּגְדַּ֖ל עַד־צְבָ֣א הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַתַּפֵּ֥ל אַ֛רְצָה מִן־הַצָּבָ֥א וּמִן־הַכּוֹכָבִ֖ים וַֽתִּרְמְסֵֽם׃
  
  11 וְעַ֥ד שַֽׂר־הַצָּבָ֖א הִגְדִּ֑יל וּמִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ *הרים **הוּרַ֣ם הַתָּמִ֔יד וְהֻשְׁלַ֖ךְ מְכ֥וֹן מִקְדָּשֽׁוֹ׃
  
  12 וְצָבָ֛א תִּנָּתֵ֥ן עַל־הַתָּמִ֖יד בְּפָ֑שַׁע וְתַשְׁלֵ֤ךְ אֱמֶת֙ אַ֔רְצָה וְעָשְׂתָ֖ה וְהִצְלִֽיחָה׃
  
  13 וָאֶשְׁמְעָ֥ה אֶֽחָד־קָד֖וֹשׁ מְדַבֵּ֑ר וַיֹּאמֶר֩ אֶחָ֨ד קָד֜וֹשׁ לַפַּֽלְמוֹנִ֣י הַֽמְדַבֵּ֗ר עַד־מָתַ֞י הֶחָז֤וֹן הַתָּמִיד֙ וְהַפֶּ֣שַׁע שֹׁמֵ֔ם תֵּ֛ת וְקֹ֥דֶשׁ וְצָבָ֖א מִרְמָֽס׃
  
  14 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֔י עַ֚ד עֶ֣רֶב בֹּ֔קֶר אַלְפַּ֖יִם וּשְׁלֹ֣שׁ מֵא֑וֹת וְנִצְדַּ֖ק קֹֽדֶשׁ׃
  
  15 וַיְהִ֗י בִּרְאֹתִ֛י אֲנִ֥י דָנִיֵּ֖אל אֶת־הֶחָז֑וֹן וָאֲבַקְשָׁ֣ה בִינָ֔ה וְהִנֵּ֛ה עֹמֵ֥ד לְנֶגְדִּ֖י כְּמַרְאֵה־גָֽבֶר׃
  
  16 וָאֶשְׁמַ֥ע קוֹל־אָדָ֖ם בֵּ֣ין אוּלָ֑י וַיִּקְרָא֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר גַּבְרִיאֵ֕ל הָבֵ֥ן לְהַלָּ֖ז אֶת־הַמַּרְאֶֽה׃
  
  17 וַיָּבֹא֙ אֵ֣צֶל עָמְדִ֔י וּבְבֹא֣וֹ נִבְעַ֔תִּי וָאֶפְּלָ֖ה עַל־פָּנָ֑י וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלַי֙ הָבֵ֣ן בֶּן־אָדָ֔ם כִּ֖י לְעֶת־קֵ֥ץ הֶחָזֽוֹן׃
  
  18 וּבְדַבְּר֣וֹ עִמִּ֔י נִרְדַּ֥מְתִּי עַל־פָּנַ֖י אָ֑רְצָה וַיִּ֨גַּע־בִּ֔י וַיַּֽעֲמִידֵ֖נִי עַל־עָמְדִֽי׃
  
  19 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הִנְנִ֣י מוֹדִֽיעֲךָ֔ אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר־יִהְיֶ֖ה בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית הַזָּ֑עַם כִּ֖י לְמוֹעֵ֥ד קֵֽץ׃
  
  20 הָאַ֥יִל אֲשֶׁר־רָאִ֖יתָ בַּ֣עַל הַקְּרָנָ֑יִם מַלְכֵ֖י מָדַ֥י וּפָרָֽס׃
  
  21 וְהַצָּפִ֥יר הַשָּׂעִ֖יר מֶ֣לֶךְ יָוָ֑ן וְהַקֶּ֤רֶן הַגְּדוֹלָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בֵּין־עֵינָ֔יו ה֖וּא הַמֶּ֥לֶךְ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃
  
  22 וְהַ֨נִּשְׁבֶּ֔רֶת וַתַּֽעֲמֹ֥דְנָה אַרְבַּ֖ע תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ אַרְבַּ֧ע מַלְכֻי֛וֹת מִגּ֥וֹי יַעֲמֹ֖דְנָה וְלֹ֥א בְכֹחֽוֹ׃
  
  23 וּֽבְאַחֲרִית֙ מַלְכוּתָ֔ם כְּהָתֵ֖ם הַפֹּשְׁעִ֑ים יַעֲמֹ֛ד מֶ֥לֶךְ עַז־פָּנִ֖ים וּמֵבִ֥ין חִידֽוֹת׃
  
  24 וְעָצַ֤ם כֹּחוֹ֙ וְלֹ֣א בְכֹח֔וֹ וְנִפְלָא֥וֹת יַשְׁחִ֖ית וְהִצְלִ֣יחַ וְעָשָׂ֑ה וְהִשְׁחִ֥ית עֲצוּמִ֖ים וְעַם־קְדֹשִֽׁים׃
  
  25 וְעַל־שִׂכְל֗וֹ וְהִצְלִ֤יחַ מִרְמָה֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ וּבִלְבָב֣וֹ יַגְדִּ֔יל וּבְשַׁלְוָ֖ה יַשְׁחִ֣ית רַבִּ֑ים וְעַ֤ל־שַׂר־שָׂרִים֙ יַעֲמֹ֔ד וּבְאֶ֥פֶס יָ֖ד יִשָּׁבֵֽר׃
  
  26 וּמַרְאֵ֨ה הָעֶ֧רֶב וְהַבֹּ֛קֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר נֶאֱמַ֖ר אֱמֶ֣ת ה֑וּא וְאַתָּה֙ סְתֹ֣ם הֶֽחָז֔וֹן כִּ֖י לְיָמִ֥ים רַבִּֽים׃
  
  27 וַאֲנִ֣י דָנִיֵּ֗אל נִהְיֵ֤יתִי וְנֶֽחֱלֵ֙יתִי֙ יָמִ֔ים וָאָק֕וּם וָאֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה אֶת־מְלֶ֣אכֶת הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וָאֶשְׁתּוֹמֵ֥ם עַל־הַמַּרְאֶ֖ה וְאֵ֥ין מֵבִֽין׃

  1 Παῦλος ἀπόστολος Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ κατ’ ἐπιταγὴν θεοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν καὶ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τῆς ἐλπίδος ἡμῶν
  
  2 Τιμοθέῳ γνησίῳ τέκνῳ ἐν πίστει· χάρις, ἔλεος, εἰρήνη ἀπὸ θεοῦ πατρὸς καὶ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν.
  
  3 Καθὼς παρεκάλεσά σε προσμεῖναι ἐν Ἐφέσῳ, πορευόμενος εἰς Μακεδονίαν, ἵνα παραγγείλῃς τισὶν μὴ ἑτεροδιδασκαλεῖν
  
  4 μηδὲ προσέχειν μύθοις καὶ γενεαλογίαις ἀπεράντοις, αἵτινες ἐκζητήσεις παρέχουσι μᾶλλον ἢ οἰκονομίαν θεοῦ τὴν ἐν πίστει—
  
  5 τὸ δὲ τέλος τῆς παραγγελίας ἐστὶν ἀγάπη ἐκ καθαρᾶς καρδίας καὶ συνειδήσεως ἀγαθῆς καὶ πίστεως ἀνυποκρίτου,
  
  6 ὧν τινες ἀστοχήσαντες ἐξετράπησαν εἰς ματαιολογίαν,
  
  7 θέλοντες εἶναι νομοδιδάσκαλοι, μὴ νοοῦντες μήτε ἃ λέγουσιν μήτε περὶ τίνων διαβεβαιοῦνται.
  
  8 Οἴδαμεν δὲ ὅτι καλὸς ὁ νόμος ἐάν τις αὐτῷ νομίμως χρῆται,
  
  9 εἰδὼς τοῦτο, ὅτι δικαίῳ νόμος οὐ κεῖται, ἀνόμοις δὲ καὶ ἀνυποτάκτοις, ἀσεβέσι καὶ ἁμαρτωλοῖς, ἀνοσίοις καὶ βεβήλοις, πατρολῴαις καὶ μητρολῴαις, ἀνδροφόνοις,
  
  10 πόρνοις, ἀρσενοκοίταις, ἀνδραποδισταῖς, ψεύσταις, ἐπιόρκοις, καὶ εἴ τι ἕτερον τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ διδασκαλίᾳ ἀντίκειται,
  
  11 κατὰ τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς δόξης τοῦ μακαρίου θεοῦ, ὃ ἐπιστεύθην ἐγώ.
  
  12 Χάριν ἔχω τῷ ἐνδυναμώσαντί με Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ τῷ κυρίῳ ἡμῶν, ὅτι πιστόν με ἡγήσατο θέμενος εἰς διακονίαν,
  
  13 τὸ πρότερον ὄντα βλάσφημον καὶ διώκτην καὶ ὑβριστήν· ἀλλὰ ἠλεήθην, ὅτι ἀγνοῶν ἐποίησα ἐν ἀπιστίᾳ,
  
  14 ὑπερεπλεόνασεν δὲ ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν μετὰ πίστεως καὶ ἀγάπης τῆς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ.
  
  15 πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος, ὅτι Χριστὸς Ἰησοῦς ἦλθεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον ἁμαρτωλοὺς σῶσαι· ὧν πρῶτός εἰμι ἐγώ,
  
  16 ἀλλὰ διὰ τοῦτο ἠλεήθην, ἵνα ἐν ἐμοὶ πρώτῳ ἐνδείξηται Χριστὸς Ἰησοῦς τὴν ἅπασαν μακροθυμίαν, πρὸς ὑποτύπωσιν τῶν μελλόντων πιστεύειν ἐπ' αὐτῷ εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον.
  
  17 τῷ δὲ βασιλεῖ τῶν αἰώνων, ἀφθάρτῳ, ἀοράτῳ, μόνῳ θεῷ, τιμὴ καὶ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν.
  
  18 Ταύτην τὴν παραγγελίαν παρατίθεμαί σοι, τέκνον Τιμόθεε, κατὰ τὰς προαγούσας ἐπὶ σὲ προφητείας, ἵνα στρατεύῃ ἐν αὐταῖς τὴν καλὴν στρατείαν,
  
  19 ἔχων πίστιν καὶ ἀγαθὴν συνείδησιν, ἥν τινες ἀπωσάμενοι περὶ τὴν πίστιν ἐναυάγησαν·
  
  20 ὧν ἐστιν Ὑμέναιος καὶ Ἀλέξανδρος, οὓς παρέδωκα τῷ Σατανᾷ ἵνα παιδευθῶσι μὴ βλασφημεῖν.
