- 2 Rois 6
  
  1 Et les fils des prophètes dirent à Élisée : Tu vois que le lieu où nous habitons devant toi est trop étroit pour nous.
  
  2 Allons, s'il te plaît, jusqu'au Jourdain, et nous y prendrons chacun une pièce de bois, et nous y bâtirons un lieu pour y habiter. Et il dit : Allez.
  
  3 Et l'un d'eux dit : Consens, je te prie, à venir avec tes serviteurs.
  
  4 Et il dit : J'irai. Et il alla avec eux ; et ils vinrent au Jourdain, et coupèrent des arbres.
  
  5 Et il arriva, comme l'un d'eux abattait une pièce de bois, que le fer tomba dans l'eau ; et il s'écria et dit : Hélas, mon maître ! il était emprunté !
  
  6 Et l'homme de Dieu dit : Où est-il tombé ? Et il lui montra l'endroit ; et Élisée coupa un morceau de bois, et l'y jeta, et fit surnager le fer ;
  
  7 et il dit : Enlève-le. Et il étendit sa main, et le prit.
  
  8 Or le roi de Syrie faisait la guerre contre Israël ; et il tint conseil avec ses serviteurs, disant : En tel et tel lieu sera mon camp.
  
  9 Et l'homme de Dieu envoya au roi d'Israël, disant : Garde-toi de passer par ce lieu-là ; car les Syriens y sont descendus.
  
  10 Et le roi d'Israël envoya au lieu au sujet duquel l'homme de Dieu lui avait parlé et l'avait averti, et il y fut gardé. Cela eut lieu non pas une fois, ni deux fois.
  
  11 Et le coeur du roi de Syrie fut agité à cause de cela ; et il appela ses serviteurs, et leur dit : Ne me déclarerez-vous pas qui d'entre nous est pour le roi d'Israël ?
  
  12 Et l'un de ses serviteurs lui dit : Personne, ô roi, mon seigneur ! mais Élisée, le prophète qui est en Israël, déclare au roi d'Israël les paroles que tu dis dans ta chambre à coucher.
  
  13 Et il dit : Allez, et voyez où il est, et j'enverrai et je le prendrai. Et on lui rapporta, disant : Le voilà à Dothan.
  
  14 Et il y envoya des chevaux, et des chars, et de grandes forces ; et ils allèrent de nuit, et environnèrent la ville.
  
  15 Et celui qui servait l'homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit : et voici, une armée entourait la ville, et des chevaux, et des chars. Et son jeune homme lui dit : Hélas ! mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous ?
  
  16 Et il dit : Ne crains pas ; car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux.
  
  17 Et Élisée pria, et dit : Éternel, je te prie, ouvre ses yeux, afin qu'il voie. Et l'Éternel ouvrit les yeux du jeune homme, et il vit : et voici la montagne était pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d'Élisée.
  
  18 Et les Syriens descendirent vers Élisée ; et il pria l'Éternel, et dit : Je te prie, frappe cette nation de cécité. Et il les frappa de cécité selon la parole d'Élisée.
  
  19 Et Élisée leur dit : Ce n'est pas ici le chemin, et ce n'est pas ici la ville ; venez après moi, et je vous mènerai vers l'homme que vous cherchez. Et il les mena à Samarie.
  
  20 Et il arriva, quand ils furent entrés à Samarie, qu'Élisée dit : Éternel, ouvre les yeux à ces hommes, afin qu'ils voient. Et l'Éternel ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent : et voici, ils étaient au milieu de Samarie.
  
  21 Et le roi d'Israël dit à Élisée, quand il les vit : Frapperai-je, frapperai-je, mon père ?
  
  22 Et il dit : Tu ne frapperas point ; ceux que tu aurais faits captifs avec ton épée et ton arc, les frapperais-tu ? Mets du pain et de l'eau devant eux ; et qu'ils mangent et boivent, et qu'ils s'en aillent vers leur seigneur.
  
  23 Et il leur prépara un grand festin, et ils mangèrent et burent ; et il les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent vers leur seigneur. Et les bandes des Syriens ne revinrent plus dans le pays d'Israël.
  
  24 Et il arriva, après cela, que Ben-Hadad, roi de Syrie, rassembla toute son armée, et monta, et assiégea Samarie.
  
  25 Et il y eut une grande famine dans Samarie ; et voici, ils la serraient de près, jusqu'à ce que la tête d'un âne fut à quatre-vingt sicles d'argent, et le quart d'un kab de fiente de pigeon à cinq sicles d'argent.
  
  26 Et il arriva, comme le roi d'Israël passait sur la muraille, qu'une femme lui cria, disant : Sauve-moi, ô roi, mon seigneur !
  
  27 Et il dit : Si l'Éternel ne te sauve pas, comment te sauverais-je ? Serait-ce au moyen de l'aire ou de la cuve ?
  
  28 Et le roi lui dit : Qu'as-tu ? Et elle dit : Cette femme-là m'a dit : Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons aujourd'hui ; et demain nous mangerons mon fils.
  
  29 Et nous avons bouilli mon fils, et nous l'avons mangé ; et le jour après, je lui ai dit : Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons. Et elle a caché son fils.
  
  30 Et aussitôt que le roi entendit les paroles de la femme, il déchira ses vêtements. Et comme il passait sur la muraille, le peuple le vit : et voici, il avait un sac sur sa chair, en dedans.
  
  31 Et le roi dit : Ainsi Dieu me fasse, et ainsi il y ajoute, si la tête d'Élisée, fils de Shaphath, demeure sur lui aujourd'hui !
  
  32 Et Élisée était assis dans sa maison, et les anciens étaient assis avec lui, et le roi envoya un homme devant lui. Avant que le messager arrivât auprès de lui, Élisée dit aux anciens : Voyez-vous que ce fils d'un meurtrier envoie pour m'ôter la tête ? Voyez quand le messager entrera ; fermez la porte, et repoussez-le avec la porte : n'est-ce pas le bruit des pieds de son maître après lui ?
  
  33 Il parlait encore avec eux, quand voici, le messager descendit vers lui. Et le roi dit : Voici, ce mal est de par l'Éternel ; pourquoi m'attendrai-je encore à l'Éternel ?
  
  Daniel 10
  
  1 La troisième année de Cyrus, roi de Perse, une chose fut révélée à Daniel qui est appelé du nom de Belteshatsar ; et la chose est vraie, mais le temps d'épreuve déterminé est long. Et il comprit la chose et eut l'intelligence de la vision.
  
  2 En ces jours-là, moi Daniel, je menai deuil trois semaines entières ;
  
  3 je ne mangeai pas de pain agréable, et la chair et le vin n'entrèrent pas dans ma bouche ; et je ne m'oignis point, jusqu'à ce que trois semaines entières fussent accomplies.
  
  4 Et le vingt-quatrième jour du premier mois, j'étais au bord du grand fleuve qui est le Hiddékel ; et je levai les yeux, et je vis ;
  
  5 et voici un homme vêtu de lin, et ses reins étaient ceints d'or d'Uphaz ;
  
  6 et son corps était comme un chrysolithe, et son visage comme l'aspect de l'éclair, et ses yeux comme des flammes de feu, et ses bras et ses pieds comme l'apparence de l'airain poli, et la voix de ses paroles comme la voix d'une multitude.
  
  7 Et moi, Daniel, je vis seul la vision, et les hommes qui étaient avec moi ne virent pas la vision, mais un grand tremblement tomba sur eux, et ils coururent pour se cacher.
  
  8 Et moi je fus laissé seul, et je vis cette grande vision ; et il ne resta aucune force en moi, et mon teint frais fut changé en corruption, et je ne conservai aucune force.
  
  9 Et j'entendis la voix de ses paroles ; et, comme j'entendais la voix de ses paroles, je tombai dans une profonde stupeur sur ma face, et ma face contre terre.
  
  10 Et voici, une main me toucha et me secoua, et me mit sur mes genoux et sur les paumes de mes mains.
  
  11 Et il me dit : Daniel, homme bien-aimé, comprends les paroles que je te dis, et tiens-toi debout à la place où tu es ; car je suis maintenant envoyé vers toi. Et comme il parlait avec moi, disant cette parole, je me tins debout, tremblant.
  
  12 Et il me dit : Ne crains pas, Daniel, car dès le premier jour où tu as appliqué ton coeur à comprendre et à t'humilier devant ton Dieu, tes paroles ont été entendues, et moi, je suis venu à cause de tes paroles ;
  
  13 mais le chef du royaume de Perse m'a résisté vingt et un jours, et voici, Micaël, un des premiers chefs, vint à mon secours : et je restai là, auprès des rois de Perse.
  
  14 Et je suis venu pour te faire comprendre ce qui arrivera à ton peuple à la fin des jours ; car la vision est encore pour beaucoup de jours.
  
  15 Et comme il parlait avec moi selon ces paroles, je tournai ma face vers la terre, et je devins muet.
  
  16 Et voici, comme la ressemblance des fils des hommes toucha mes lèvres. Et j'ouvris ma bouche et je parlai, et je dis à celui qui se tenait devant moi : Mon seigneur, par la vision les douleurs m'ont saisi, et je n'ai conservé aucune force.
  
  17 Et comment le serviteur de mon seigneur, que voici, parlerait-il avec mon seigneur, que voici ? Car pour moi, dès maintenant, aucune force ne subsiste en moi, et il ne reste plus en moi de souffle.
  
  18 Et comme l'aspect d'un homme me toucha de nouveau, et me fortifia,
  
  19 et il dit : Ne crains pas, homme bien-aimé ; paix te soit ! sois fort, oui, sois fort ! Et comme il parlait avec moi, je pris des forces, et je dis : Que mon seigneur parle, car tu m'as fortifié.
  
  20 Et il dit : Sais-tu pourquoi je suis venu vers toi ? Et maintenant, je m'en retournerai pour combattre contre le chef de la Perse ; et quand je sortirai, voici, le chef de Javan viendra.
  
  21 Cependant je te déclarerai ce qui est consigné dans l'écrit de vérité ; et pas un seul ne tient ferme avec moi contre ceux-là, sinon Micaël, votre chef.
  
  1 Timothée 3
  
  1 Cette parole est certaine, que si quelqu'un aspire à la surveillance, il désire une oeuvre bonne :
  
  2 il faut donc que le surveillant soit irrépréhensible, mari d'une seule femme, sobre, sage, honorable, hospitalier,
  
  3 propre à enseigner, non adonné au vin, non batteur, mais doux, non querelleur, n'aimant pas l'argent,
  
  4 conduisant bien sa propre maison, tenant ses enfants soumis en toute gravité.
  
  5 Mais si quelqu'un ne sait pas conduire sa propre maison, comment prendra-t-il soin de l'assemblée de Dieu ?)
  
  6 Qu'il ne soit pas nouvellement converti, de peur qu'étant enflé d'orgueil, il ne tombe dans la faute du diable.
  
  7 Or il faut aussi qu'il ait un bon témoignage de ceux de dehors, afin qu'il ne tombe pas dans l'opprobre et dans le piège du diable.
  
  8 De même, il faut que les serviteurs soient graves, non doubles en paroles, non adonnés à beaucoup de vin, non avides d'un gain honteux,
  
  9 gardant le mystère de la foi dans une conscience pure ;
  
  10 et que ceux-ci aussi soient premièrement mis à l'épreuve ; ensuite, qu'ils servent, étant trouvés irréprochables.
  
  11 De même, que les femmes soient graves, non médisantes, sobres, fidèles en toutes choses.
  
  12 Que les serviteurs soient maris d'une seule femme, conduisant bien leurs enfants et leurs propres maisons ;
  
  13 car ceux qui ont bien servi acquièrent un bon degré pour eux et une grande hardiesse dans la foi qui est dans le Christ Jésus.
  
  14 Je t'écris ces choses, espérant me rendre bientôt auprès de toi ;
  
  15 mais, si je tarde, -afin que tu saches comment il faut se conduire dans la maison de Dieu, qui est l'assemblée du Dieu vivant, la colonne et le soutien de la vérité.
  
  16 Et, sans contredit, le mystère de la piété est grand : -Dieu a été manifesté en chair, a été justifié en Esprit, a été vu des anges, a été prêché parmi les nations, a été cru au monde, a été élevé dans la gloire.

  1 The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, "See now, the place where we dwell before you is too small for us.
  
  2 Please let us go to the Jordan, and every man take a beam from there, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell." He answered, "Go!"
  
  3 One said, "Please be pleased to go with your servants." He answered, "I will go."
  
  4 So he went with them. When they came to the Jordan, they cut down wood.
  
  5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water. Then he cried, and said, "Alas, my master! For it was borrowed."
  
  6 The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" He showed him the place. He cut down a stick, threw it in there, and made the iron float.
  
  7 He said, "Take it." So he put out his hand and took it.
  
  8 Now the king of Syria was warring against Israel; and he took counsel with his servants, saying, "My camp will be in such and such a place."
  
  9 The man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, "Beware that you not pass such a place; for the Syrians are coming down there."
  
  10 The king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.
  
  11 The heart of the king of Syria was very troubled about this. He called his servants, and said to them, "Won't you show me which of us is for the king of Israel?"
  
  12 One of his servants said, "No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom."
  
  13 He said, "Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him." It was told him, saying, "Behold, he is in Dothan."
  
  14 Therefore he sent horses, chariots, and a great army there. They came by night, and surrounded the city.
  
  15 When the servant of the man of God had risen early, and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?"
  
  16 He answered, "Don't be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them."
  
  17 Elisha prayed, and said, "Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see." Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.
  
  18 When they came down to him, Elisha prayed to Yahweh, and said, "Please strike this people with blindness." He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
  
  19 Elisha said to them, "This is not the way, neither is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek." He led them to Samaria.
  
  20 It happened, when they had come into Samaria, that Elisha said, "Yahweh, open the eyes of these men, that they may see." Yahweh opened their eyes, and they saw; and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
  
  21 The king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, "My father, shall I strike them? Shall I strike them?"
  
  22 He answered, "You shall not strike them. Would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master."
  
  23 He prepared great feast for them. When they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. The bands of Syria stopped raiding the land of Israel.
  
  24 It happened after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.
  
  25 There was a great famine in Samaria. Behold, they besieged it, until a donkey's head was sold for eighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
  
  26 As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!"
  
  27 He said, "If Yahweh doesn't help you, from where could I help you? From of the threshing floor, or from the winepress?"
  
  28 The king said to her, "What ails you?" She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.'
  
  29 So we boiled my son, and ate him: and I said to her on the next day, 'Give your son, that we may eat him;' and she has hidden her son."
  
  30 It happened, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he tore his clothes (now he was passing by on the wall); and the people looked, and behold, he had sackcloth underneath on his flesh.
  
  31 Then he said, "God do so to me, and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stay on him this day."
  
  32 But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, "Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn't the sound of his master's feet behind him?"
  
  33 While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. Then he said, "Behold, this evil is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?"
  
  Daniel 10
  
  1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
  
  2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks.
  
  3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, until three whole weeks were fulfilled.
  
  4 In the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel,
  
  5 I lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, whose thighs were adorned with pure gold of Uphaz:
  
  6 his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as flaming torches, and his arms and his feet like burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
  
  7 I, Daniel, alone saw the vision; for the men who were with me didn't see the vision; but a great quaking fell on them, and they fled to hide themselves.
  
  8 So I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
  
  9 Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
  
  10 Behold, a hand touched me, which set me on my knees and on the palms of my hands.
  
  11 He said to me, Daniel, you man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright; for am I now sent to you. When he had spoken this word to me, I stood trembling.
  
  12 Then he said to me, Don't be afraid, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard: and I have come for your words' sake.
  
  13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but, behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me: and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
  
  14 Now I have come to make you understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days; for the vision is yet for [many] days:
  
  15 and when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was mute.
  
  16 Behold, one in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said to him who stood before me, my lord, by reason of the vision my sorrows are turned on me, and I retain no strength.
  
  17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.
  
  18 Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me.
  
  19 He said, "Greatly beloved man, don't be afraid: peace be to you, be strong, yes, be strong." When he spoke to me, I was strengthened, and said, "Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me."
  
  20 Then he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia. When I go forth, behold, the prince of Greece shall come.
  
  21 But I will tell you that which is inscribed in the writing of truth: and there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your prince."
  
  1 Timothée 3
  
  1 This is a faithful saying: if a man seeks the office of an overseer , he desires a good work.
  
  2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
  
  3 not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
  
  4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
  
  5 (but if a man doesn't know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the assembly of God?)
  
  6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
  
  7 Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
  
  8 Servants , in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money;
  
  9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
  
  10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
  
  11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.
  
  12 Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
  
  13 For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
  
  14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly;
  
  15 but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God's house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
  
  16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

  1 וַיֹּאמְר֥וּ בְנֵֽי־הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים אֶל־אֱלִישָׁ֑ע הִנֵּֽה־נָ֣א הַמָּק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנַ֜חְנוּ יֹשְׁבִ֥ים שָׁ֛ם לְפָנֶ֖יךָ צַ֥ר מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
  
  2 נֵֽלְכָה־נָּ֣א עַד־הַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן וְנִקְחָ֤ה מִשָּׁם֙ אִ֚ישׁ קוֹרָ֣ה אֶחָ֔ת וְנַעֲשֶׂה־לָּ֥נוּ שָׁ֛ם מָק֖וֹם לָשֶׁ֣בֶת שָׁ֑ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר לֵֽכוּ׃

  7 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הָ֣רֶם לָ֑ךְ וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח יָד֖וֹ וַיִּקָּחֵֽהוּ׃
  
  8 וּמֶ֣לֶךְ אֲרָ֔ם הָיָ֥ה נִלְחָ֖ם בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּוָּעַץ֙ אֶל־עֲבָדָ֣יו לֵאמֹ֗ר אֶל־מְק֛וֹם פְּלֹנִ֥י אַלְמֹנִ֖י תַּחֲנֹתִֽי׃
  
  9 וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח אִ֣ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים אֶל־מֶ֤לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁ֕מֶר מֵעֲבֹ֖ר הַמָּק֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה כִּֽי־שָׁ֖ם אֲרָ֥ם נְחִתִּֽים׃
  
  10 וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶֽל־הַמָּק֞וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָֽמַר־ל֧וֹ אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִ֛ים *והזהירה **וְהִזְהִיר֖וֹ וְנִשְׁמַ֣ר שָׁ֑ם לֹ֥א אַחַ֖ת וְלֹ֥א שְׁתָּֽיִם׃
  
  11 וַיִּסָּעֵר֙ לֵ֣ב מֶֽלֶךְ־אֲרָ֔ם עַל־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וַיִּקְרָ֤א אֶל־עֲבָדָיו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם הֲלוֹא֙ תַּגִּ֣ידוּ לִ֔י מִ֥י מִשֶּׁלָּ֖נוּ אֶל־מֶ֥לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  12 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַחַ֣ד מֵֽעֲבָדָ֔יו ל֖וֹא אֲדֹנִ֣י הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ כִּֽי־אֱלִישָׁ֤ע הַנָּבִיא֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יַגִּיד֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶת־הַ֨דְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּ֖ר בַּחֲדַ֥ר מִשְׁכָּבֶֽךָ׃
  
  13 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר לְכ֤וּ וּרְאוּ֙ אֵיכֹ֣ה ה֔וּא וְאֶשְׁלַ֖ח וְאֶקָּחֵ֑הוּ וַיֻּגַּד־ל֥וֹ לֵאמֹ֖ר הִנֵּ֥ה בְדֹתָֽן׃
  
  14 וַיִּשְׁלַח־שָׁ֛מָּה סוּסִ֥ים וְרֶ֖כֶב וְחַ֣יִל כָּבֵ֑ד וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ לַ֔יְלָה וַיַּקִּ֖פוּ עַל־הָעִֽיר׃
  
  15 וַ֠יַּשְׁכֵּם מְשָׁרֵ֨ת אִ֥ישׁ הָֽאֱלֹהִים֮ לָקוּם֒ וַיֵּצֵ֕א וְהִנֵּה־חַ֛יִל סוֹבֵ֥ב אֶת־הָעִ֖יר וְס֣וּס וָרָ֑כֶב וַיֹּ֨אמֶר נַעֲר֥וֹ אֵלָ֛יו אֲהָ֥הּ אֲדֹנִ֖י אֵיכָ֥ה נַֽעֲשֶֽׂה׃
  
  16 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אַל־תִּירָ֑א כִּ֤י רַבִּים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתָּ֔נוּ מֵאֲשֶׁ֖ר אוֹתָֽם׃
  
  17 וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֤ל אֱלִישָׁע֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר יְהוָ֕ה פְּקַח־נָ֥א אֶת־עֵינָ֖יו וְיִרְאֶ֑ה וַיִּפְקַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־עֵינֵ֣י הַנַּ֔עַר וַיַּ֗רְא וְהִנֵּ֨ה הָהָ֜ר מָלֵ֨א סוּסִ֥ים וְרֶ֛כֶב אֵ֖שׁ סְבִיבֹ֥ת אֱלִישָֽׁע׃
  
  18 וַיֵּרְדוּ֮ אֵלָיו֒ וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֨ל אֱלִישָׁ֤ע אֶל־יְהוָה֙ וַיֹּאמַ֔ר הַךְ־נָ֥א אֶת־הַגּוֹי־הַזֶּ֖ה בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֑ים וַיַּכֵּ֥ם בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֖ים כִּדְבַ֥ר אֱלִישָֽׁע׃
  
  19 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֜ם אֱלִישָׁ֗ע לֹ֣א זֶ֣ה הַדֶּרֶךְ֮ וְלֹ֣א זֹ֣ה הָעִיר֒ לְכ֣וּ אַחֲרַ֔י וְאוֹלִ֣יכָה אֶתְכֶ֔ם אֶל־הָאִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תְּבַקֵּשׁ֑וּן וַיֹּ֥לֶךְ אוֹתָ֖ם שֹׁמְרֽוֹנָה׃
  
  20 וַיְהִי֮ כְּבֹאָ֣ם שֹׁמְרוֹן֒ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֱלִישָׁ֔ע יְהוָ֕ה פְּקַ֥ח אֶת־עֵינֵֽי־אֵ֖לֶּה וְיִרְא֑וּ וַיִּפְקַ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת־עֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם וַיִּרְא֕וּ וְהִנֵּ֖ה בְּת֥וֹךְ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃
  
  21 וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶל־אֱלִישָׁ֔ע כִּרְאֹת֖וֹ אוֹתָ֑ם הַאַכֶּ֥ה אַכֶּ֖ה אָבִֽי׃
  
  22 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ לֹ֣א תַכֶּ֔ה הַאֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁבִ֛יתָ בְּחַרְבְּךָ֥ וּֽבְקַשְׁתְּךָ֖ אַתָּ֣ה מַכֶּ֑ה שִׂים֩ לֶ֨חֶם וָמַ֜יִם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם וְיֹֽאכְלוּ֙ וְיִשְׁתּ֔וּ וְיֵלְכ֖וּ אֶל־אֲדֹנֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  23 וַיִּכְרֶ֨ה לָהֶ֜ם כֵּרָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֗ה וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙ וַיִּשְׁתּ֔וּ וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ אֶל־אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֑ם וְלֹֽא־יָ֤סְפוּ עוֹד֙ גְּדוּדֵ֣י אֲרָ֔ם לָב֖וֹא בְּאֶ֥רֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  24 וַֽיְהִי֙ אַחֲרֵי־כֵ֔ן וַיִּקְבֹּ֛ץ בֶּן־הֲדַ֥ד מֶֽלֶךְ־אֲרָ֖ם אֶת־כָּל־מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ וַיַּ֕עַל וַיָּ֖צַר עַל־שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃
  
  25 וַיְהִ֨י רָעָ֤ב גָּדוֹל֙ בְּשֹׁ֣מְר֔וֹן וְהִנֵּ֖ה צָרִ֣ים עָלֶ֑יהָ עַ֣ד הֱי֤וֹת רֹאשׁ־חֲמוֹר֙ בִּשְׁמֹנִ֣ים כֶּ֔סֶף וְרֹ֛בַע הַקַּ֥ב *חרייונים **דִּבְיוֹנִ֖ים בַּחֲמִשָּׁה־כָֽסֶף׃
  
  26 וַֽיְהִי֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עֹבֵ֖ר עַל־הַחֹמָ֑ה וְאִשָּׁ֗ה צָעֲקָ֤ה אֵלָיו֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
  
  27 וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַל־יוֹשִׁעֵ֣ךְ יְהוָ֔ה מֵאַ֖יִן אֽוֹשִׁיעֵ֑ךְ הֲמִן־הַגֹּ֖רֶן א֥וֹ מִן־הַיָּֽקֶב׃
  
  28 וַיֹּֽאמֶר־לָ֥הּ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ מַה־לָּ֑ךְ וַתֹּ֗אמֶר הָאִשָּׁ֨ה הַזֹּ֜את אָמְרָ֣ה אֵלַ֗י תְּנִ֤י אֶת־בְּנֵךְ֙ וְנֹאכְלֶ֣נּוּ הַיּ֔וֹם וְאֶת־בְּנִ֖י נֹאכַ֥ל מָחָֽר׃
  
  29 וַנְּבַשֵּׁ֥ל אֶת־בְּנִ֖י וַנֹּֽאכְלֵ֑הוּ וָאֹמַ֨ר אֵלֶ֜יהָ בַּיּ֣וֹם הָאַחֵ֗ר תְּנִ֤י אֶת־בְּנֵךְ֙ וְנֹ֣אכְלֶ֔נּוּ וַתַּחְבִּ֖א אֶת־בְּנָֽהּ׃
  
  30 וַיְהִי֩ כִשְׁמֹ֨עַ הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֤י הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ וַיִּקְרַ֣ע אֶת־בְּגָדָ֔יו וְה֖וּא עֹבֵ֣ר עַל־הַחֹמָ֑ה וַיַּ֣רְא הָעָ֔ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַשַּׂ֛ק עַל־בְּשָׂר֖וֹ מִבָּֽיִת׃
  
  31 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר כֹּֽה־יַעֲשֶׂה־לִּ֥י אֱלֹהִ֖ים וְכֹ֣ה יוֹסִ֑ף אִֽם־יַעֲמֹ֞ד רֹ֣אשׁ אֱלִישָׁ֧ע בֶּן־שָׁפָ֛ט עָלָ֖יו הַיּֽוֹם׃
  
  32 וֶאֱלִישָׁע֙ יֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּבֵית֔וֹ וְהַזְּקֵנִ֖ים יֹשְׁבִ֣ים אִתּ֑וֹ וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח אִ֜ישׁ מִלְּפָנָ֗יו בְּטֶ֣רֶם יָבֹא֩ הַמַּלְאָ֨ךְ אֵלָ֜יו וְה֣וּא ׀ אָמַ֣ר אֶל־הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים הַרְּאִיתֶם֙ כִּֽי־שָׁלַ֞ח בֶּן־הַֽמְרַצֵּ֤חַ הַזֶּה֙ לְהָסִ֣יר אֶת־רֹאשִׁ֔י רְא֣וּ ׀ כְּבֹ֣א הַמַּלְאָ֗ךְ סִגְר֤וּ הַדֶּ֙לֶת֙ וּלְחַצְתֶּ֤ם אֹתוֹ֙ בַּדֶּ֔לֶת הֲל֗וֹא ק֛וֹל רַגְלֵ֥י אֲדֹנָ֖יו אַחֲרָֽיו׃
  
  33 עוֹדֶ֙נּוּ֙ מְדַבֵּ֣ר עִמָּ֔ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה הַמַּלְאָ֖ךְ יֹרֵ֣ד אֵלָ֑יו וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּֽה־זֹ֤את הָֽרָעָה֙ מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מָֽה־אוֹחִ֥יל לַיהוָ֖ה עֽוֹד׃

  1 בִּשְׁנַ֣ת שָׁל֗וֹשׁ לְכ֙וֹרֶשׁ֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ פָּרַ֔ס דָּבָר֙ נִגְלָ֣ה לְדָֽנִיֵּ֔אל אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ בֵּלְטְשַׁאצַּ֑ר וֶאֱמֶ֤ת הַדָּבָר֙ וְצָבָ֣א גָד֔וֹל וּבִין֙ אֶת־הַדָּבָ֔ר וּבִ֥ינָה ל֖וֹ בַּמַּרְאֶֽה׃
  
  2 בַּיָּמִ֖ים הָהֵ֑ם אֲנִ֤י דָֽנִיֵּאל֙ הָיִ֣יתִי מִתְאַבֵּ֔ל שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה שָׁבֻעִ֖ים יָמִֽים׃
  
  3 לֶ֣חֶם חֲמֻד֞וֹת לֹ֣א אָכַ֗לְתִּי וּבָשָׂ֥ר וָיַ֛יִן לֹא־בָ֥א אֶל־פִּ֖י וְס֣וֹךְ לֹא־סָ֑כְתִּי עַד־מְלֹ֕את שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת שָׁבֻעִ֖ים יָמִֽים׃
  
  4 וּבְי֛וֹם עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֑וֹן וַאֲנִ֗י הָיִ֛יתִי עַ֣ל יַ֧ד הַנָּהָ֛ר הַגָּד֖וֹל ה֥וּא חִדָּֽקֶל׃
  
  5 וָאֶשָּׂ֤א אֶת־עֵינַי֙ וָאֵ֔רֶא וְהִנֵּ֥ה אִישׁ־אֶחָ֖ד לָב֣וּשׁ בַּדִּ֑ים וּמָתְנָ֥יו חֲגֻרִ֖ים בְּכֶ֥תֶם אוּפָֽז׃
  
  6 וּגְוִיָּת֣וֹ כְתַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ וּפָנָ֞יו כְּמַרְאֵ֤ה בָרָק֙ וְעֵינָיו֙ כְּלַפִּ֣ידֵי אֵ֔שׁ וּזְרֹֽעֹתָיו֙ וּמַרְגְּלֹתָ֔יו כְּעֵ֖ין נְחֹ֣שֶׁת קָלָ֑ל וְק֥וֹל דְּבָרָ֖יו כְּק֥וֹל הָמֽוֹן׃
  
  7 וְרָאִיתִי֩ אֲנִ֨י דָנִיֵּ֤אל לְבַדִּי֙ אֶת־הַמַּרְאָ֔ה וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ עִמִּ֔י לֹ֥א רָא֖וּ אֶת־הַמַּרְאָ֑ה אֲבָ֗ל חֲרָדָ֤ה גְדֹלָה֙ נָפְלָ֣ה עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וַֽיִּבְרְח֖וּ בְּהֵחָבֵֽא׃
  
  8 וַאֲנִי֙ נִשְׁאַ֣רְתִּי לְבַדִּ֔י וָֽאֶרְאֶ֗ה אֶת־הַמַּרְאָ֤ה הַגְּדֹלָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את וְלֹ֥א נִשְׁאַר־בִּ֖י כֹּ֑ח וְהוֹדִ֗י נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ עָלַי֙ לְמַשְׁחִ֔ית וְלֹ֥א עָצַ֖רְתִּי כֹּֽחַ׃
  
  9 וָאֶשְׁמַ֖ע אֶת־ק֣וֹל דְּבָרָ֑יו וּכְשָׁמְעִי֙ אֶת־ק֣וֹל דְּבָרָ֔יו וַאֲנִ֗י הָיִ֛יתִי נִרְדָּ֥ם עַל־פָּנַ֖י וּפָנַ֥י אָֽרְצָה׃
  
  10 וְהִנֵּה־יָ֖ד נָ֣גְעָה בִּ֑י וַתְּנִיעֵ֥נִי עַל־בִּרְכַּ֖י וְכַפּ֥וֹת יָדָֽי׃
  
  11 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַ֡י דָּנִיֵּ֣אל אִישׁ־חֲ֠מֻדוֹת הָבֵ֨ן בַּדְּבָרִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר֩ אָנֹכִ֨י דֹבֵ֤ר אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ וַעֲמֹ֣ד עַל־עָמְדֶ֔ךָ כִּ֥י עַתָּ֖ה שֻׁלַּ֣חְתִּי אֵלֶ֑יךָ וּבְדַבְּר֥וֹ עִמִּ֛י אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה עָמַ֥דְתִּי מַרְעִֽיד׃
  
  12 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלַי֮ אַל־תִּירָ֣א דָנִיֵּאל֒ כִּ֣י ׀ מִן־הַיּ֣וֹם הָרִאשׁ֗וֹן אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֧תָּ אֶֽת־לִבְּךָ֛ לְהָבִ֧ין וּלְהִתְעַנּ֛וֹת לִפְנֵ֥י אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ נִשְׁמְע֣וּ דְבָרֶ֑יךָ וַאֲנִי־בָ֖אתִי בִּדְבָרֶֽיךָ׃
  
  13 וְשַׂ֣ר ׀ מַלְכ֣וּת פָּרַ֗ס עֹמֵ֤ד לְנֶגְדִּי֙ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים וְאֶחָ֣ד י֔וֹם וְהִנֵּ֣ה מִֽיכָאֵ֗ל אַחַ֛ד הַשָּׂרִ֥ים הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים בָּ֣א לְעָזְרֵ֑נִי וַאֲנִי֙ נוֹתַ֣רְתִּי שָׁ֔ם אֵ֖צֶל מַלְכֵ֥י פָרָֽס׃
  
  14 וּבָ֙אתִי֙ לַהֲבִ֣ינְךָ֔ אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר־יִקְרָ֥ה לְעַמְּךָ֖ בְּאַחֲרִ֣ית הַיָּמִ֑ים כִּי־ע֥וֹד חָז֖וֹן לַיָּמִֽים׃
  
  15 וּבְדַבְּר֣וֹ עִמִּ֔י כַּדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה נָתַ֧תִּי פָנַ֛י אַ֖רְצָה וְנֶאֱלָֽמְתִּי׃
  
  16 וְהִנֵּ֗ה כִּדְמוּת֙ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָ֔ם נֹגֵ֖עַ עַל־שְׂפָתָ֑י וָאֶפְתַּח־פִּ֗י וָאֲדַבְּרָה֙ וָאֹֽמְרָה֙ אֶל־הָעֹמֵ֣ד לְנֶגְדִּ֔י אֲדֹנִ֗י בַּמַּרְאָה֙ נֶהֶפְכ֤וּ צִירַי֙ עָלַ֔י וְלֹ֥א עָצַ֖רְתִּי כֹּֽחַ׃
  
  17 וְהֵ֣יךְ יוּכַ֗ל עֶ֤בֶד אֲדֹנִי֙ זֶ֔ה לְדַבֵּ֖ר עִם־אֲדֹ֣נִי זֶ֑ה וַאֲנִ֤י מֵעַ֙תָּה֙ לֹֽא־יַעֲמָד־בִּ֣י כֹ֔חַ וּנְשָׁמָ֖ה לֹ֥א נִשְׁאֲרָה־בִֽי׃
  
  18 וַיֹּ֧סֶף וַיִּגַּע־בִּ֛י כְּמַרְאֵ֥ה אָדָ֖ם וַֽיְחַזְּקֵֽנִי׃
  
  19 וַיֹּ֜אמֶר אַל־תִּירָ֧א אִישׁ־חֲמֻד֛וֹת שָׁל֥וֹם לָ֖ךְ חֲזַ֣ק וַחֲזָ֑ק וּֽבְדַבְּר֤וֹ עִמִּי֙ הִתְחַזַּ֔קְתִּי וָאֹֽמְרָ֛ה יְדַבֵּ֥ר אֲדֹנִ֖י כִּ֥י חִזַּקְתָּֽנִי׃
  
  20 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר הֲיָדַ֙עְתָּ֙ לָמָּה־בָּ֣אתִי אֵלֶ֔יךָ וְעַתָּ֣ה אָשׁ֔וּב לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם עִם־שַׂ֣ר פָּרָ֑ס וַאֲנִ֣י יוֹצֵ֔א וְהִנֵּ֥ה שַׂר־יָוָ֖ן בָּֽא׃
  
  21 אֲבָל֙ אַגִּ֣יד לְךָ֔ אֶת־הָרָשׁ֥וּם בִּכְתָ֖ב אֱמֶ֑ת וְאֵ֨ין אֶחָ֜ד מִתְחַזֵּ֤ק עִמִּי֙ עַל־אֵ֔לֶּה כִּ֥י אִם־מִיכָאֵ֖ל שַׂרְכֶֽם׃

  1 Πιστὸς ὁ λόγος· εἴ τις ἐπισκοπῆς ὀρέγεται, καλοῦ ἔργου ἐπιθυμεῖ.
  
  2 δεῖ οὖν τὸν ἐπίσκοπον ἀνεπίλημπτον εἶναι, μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρα, νηφάλιον, σώφρονα, κόσμιον, φιλόξενον, διδακτικόν,
  
  3 μὴ πάροινον, μὴ πλήκτην, ἀλλὰ ἐπιεικῆ, ἄμαχον, ἀφιλάργυρον,
  
  4 τοῦ ἰδίου οἴκου καλῶς προϊστάμενον, τέκνα ἔχοντα ἐν ὑποταγῇ μετὰ πάσης σεμνότητος·
  
  5 (εἰ δέ τις τοῦ ἰδίου οἴκου προστῆναι οὐκ οἶδεν, πῶς ἐκκλησίας θεοῦ ἐπιμελήσεται;)
  
  6 μὴ νεόφυτον, ἵνα μὴ τυφωθεὶς εἰς κρίμα ἐμπέσῃ τοῦ διαβόλου.
  
  7 δεῖ δὲ καὶ μαρτυρίαν καλὴν ἔχειν ἀπὸ τῶν ἔξωθεν, ἵνα μὴ εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν ἐμπέσῃ καὶ παγίδα τοῦ διαβόλου.
  
  8 Διακόνους ὡσαύτως σεμνούς, μὴ διλόγους, μὴ οἴνῳ πολλῷ προσέχοντας, μὴ αἰσχροκερδεῖς,
  
  9 ἔχοντας τὸ μυστήριον τῆς πίστεως ἐν καθαρᾷ συνειδήσει.
  
  10 καὶ οὗτοι δὲ δοκιμαζέσθωσαν πρῶτον, εἶτα διακονείτωσαν ἀνέγκλητοι ὄντες.
  
  11 γυναῖκας ὡσαύτως σεμνάς, μὴ διαβόλους, νηφαλίους, πιστὰς ἐν πᾶσιν.
  
  12 διάκονοι ἔστωσαν μιᾶς γυναικὸς ἄνδρες, τέκνων καλῶς προϊστάμενοι καὶ τῶν ἰδίων οἴκων·
  
  13 οἱ γὰρ καλῶς διακονήσαντες βαθμὸν ἑαυτοῖς καλὸν περιποιοῦνται καὶ πολλὴν παρρησίαν ἐν πίστει τῇ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ.
  
  14 Ταῦτά σοι γράφω, ἐλπίζων ἐλθεῖν πρὸς σὲ ἐν τάχει,
  
  15 ἐὰν δὲ βραδύνω, ἵνα εἰδῇς πῶς δεῖ ἐν οἴκῳ θεοῦ ἀναστρέφεσθαι, ἥτις ἐστὶν ἐκκλησία θεοῦ ζῶντος, στῦλος καὶ ἑδραίωμα τῆς ἀληθείας·
