- Genèse 3
  
  1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, "Has God really said, 'You shall not eat of any tree of the garden?'"
  
  2 The woman said to the serpent, "Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat,
  
  3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'"
  
  4 The serpent said to the woman, "You won't surely die,
  
  5 for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
  
  6 When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit, and ate; and she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.
  
  7 The eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
  
  8 They heard the voice of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Yahweh God among the trees of the garden.
  
  9 Yahweh God called to the man, and said to him, "Where are you?"
  
  10 The man said, "I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself."
  
  11 God said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"
  
  12 The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate."
  
  13 Yahweh God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."
  
  14 Yahweh God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, you are cursed above all livestock, and above every animal of the field. On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.
  
  15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel."
  
  16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly multiply your pain in childbirth. In pain you will bear children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."
  
  17 To Adam he said, "Because you have listened to your wife's voice, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it,' cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life.
  
  18 It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.
  
  19 By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
  
  20 The man called his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
  
  21 Yahweh God made coats of skins for Adam and for his wife, and clothed them.
  
  22 Yahweh God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever..."
  
  23 Therefore Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
  
  24 So he drove out the man; and he placed Cherubs at the east of the garden of Eden, and the flame of a sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.
  
  Esdras 3
  
  1 When the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
  
  2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
  
  3 In spite of their fear because of the peoples of the surrounding lands, they set the altar on its base; and they offered burnt offerings on it to Yahweh, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
  
  4 They kept the feast of tents, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;
  
  5 and afterward the continual burnt offering, the offerings of the new moons, of all the set feasts of Yahweh that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to Yahweh.
  
  6 From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh; but the foundation of Yahweh's temple was not yet laid.
  
  7 They also gave money to the masons, and to the carpenters. They also gave food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Cyrus King of Persia.
  
  8 Now in the second year of their coming to God's house at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began the work and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of Yahweh's house.
  
  9 Then Jeshua stood with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in God's house: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.
  
  10 When the builders laid the foundation of Yahweh's temple, they set the priests in their clothing with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Yahweh, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
  
  11 They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Yahweh, "For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel." All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahweh, because the foundation of the house of Yahweh had been laid.
  
  12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers' households, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,
  
  13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
  
  Matthieu 3
  
  1 In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
  
  2 "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!"
  
  3 For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight."
  
  4 Now John himself wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
  
  5 Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.
  
  6 They were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
  
  7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, "You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
  
  8 Therefore bring forth fruit worthy of repentance!
  
  9 Don't think to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
  
  10 "Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn't bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
  
  11 I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
  
  12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire."
  
  13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
  
  14 But John would have hindered him, saying, "I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?"
  
  15 But Jesus, answering, said to him, "Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed him.
  
  16 Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.
  
  17 Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

  1 וְהַנָּחָשׁ֙ הָיָ֣ה עָר֔וּם מִכֹּל֙ חַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשָׂ֖ה יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הָ֣אִשָּׁ֔ה אַ֚ף כִּֽי־אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֔ים לֹ֣א תֹֽאכְל֔וּ מִכֹּ֖ל עֵ֥ץ הַגָּֽן׃
  
  2 וַתֹּ֥אמֶר הָֽאִשָּׁ֖ה אֶל־הַנָּחָ֑שׁ מִפְּרִ֥י עֵֽץ־הַגָּ֖ן נֹאכֵֽל׃
  
  3 וּמִפְּרִ֣י הָעֵץ֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּתוֹךְ־הַגָּן֒ אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֗ים לֹ֤א תֹֽאכְלוּ֙ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְלֹ֥א תִגְּע֖וּ בּ֑וֹ פֶּן־תְּמֻתֽוּן׃
  
  4 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר הַנָּחָ֖שׁ אֶל־הָֽאִשָּׁ֑ה לֹֽא־מ֖וֹת תְּמֻתֽוּן׃
  
  5 כִּ֚י יֹדֵ֣עַ אֱלֹהִ֔ים כִּ֗י בְּיוֹם֙ אֲכָלְכֶ֣ם מִמֶּ֔נּוּ וְנִפְקְח֖וּ עֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם וִהְיִיתֶם֙ כֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים יֹדְעֵ֖י ט֥וֹב וָרָֽע׃
  
  6 וַתֵּ֣רֶא הָֽאִשָּׁ֡ה כִּ֣י טוֹב֩ הָעֵ֨ץ לְמַאֲכָ֜ל וְכִ֧י תַֽאֲוָה־ה֣וּא לָעֵינַ֗יִם וְנֶחְמָ֤ד הָעֵץ֙ לְהַשְׂכִּ֔יל וַתִּקַּ֥ח מִפִּרְי֖וֹ וַתֹּאכַ֑ל וַתִּתֵּ֧ן גַּם־לְאִישָׁ֛הּ עִמָּ֖הּ וַיֹּאכַֽל׃
  
  7 וַתִּפָּקַ֙חְנָה֙ עֵינֵ֣י שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיֵּ֣דְע֔וּ כִּ֥י עֵֽירֻמִּ֖ם הֵ֑ם וַֽיִּתְפְּרוּ֙ עֲלֵ֣ה תְאֵנָ֔ה וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ לָהֶ֖ם חֲגֹרֹֽת׃
  
  8 וַֽיִּשְׁמְע֞וּ אֶת־ק֨וֹל יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהִ֛ים מִתְהַלֵּ֥ךְ בַּגָּ֖ן לְר֣וּחַ הַיּ֑וֹם וַיִּתְחַבֵּ֨א הָֽאָדָ֜ם וְאִשְׁתּ֗וֹ מִפְּנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֔ים בְּת֖וֹךְ עֵ֥ץ הַגָּֽן׃
  
  9 וַיִּקְרָ֛א יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל־הָֽאָדָ֑ם וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֖וֹ אַיֶּֽכָּה׃
  
  10 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר אֶת־קֹלְךָ֥ שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בַּגָּ֑ן וָאִירָ֛א כִּֽי־עֵירֹ֥ם אָנֹ֖כִי וָאֵחָבֵֽא׃
  
  11 וַיֹּ֕אמֶר מִ֚י הִגִּ֣יד לְךָ֔ כִּ֥י עֵירֹ֖ם אָ֑תָּה הֲמִן־הָעֵ֗ץ אֲשֶׁ֧ר צִוִּיתִ֛יךָ לְבִלְתִּ֥י אֲכָל־מִמֶּ֖נּוּ אָכָֽלְתָּ׃
  
  12 וַיֹּ֖אמֶר הָֽאָדָ֑ם הָֽאִשָּׁה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תָּה עִמָּדִ֔י הִ֛וא נָֽתְנָה־לִּ֥י מִן־הָעֵ֖ץ וָאֹכֵֽל׃
  
  13 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהִ֛ים לָאִשָּׁ֖ה מַה־זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֑ית וַתֹּ֙אמֶר֙ הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה הַנָּחָ֥שׁ הִשִּׁיאַ֖נִי וָאֹכֵֽל׃
  
  14 וַיֹּאמֶר֩ יְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהִ֥ים ׀ אֶֽל־הַנָּחָשׁ֮ כִּ֣י עָשִׂ֣יתָ זֹּאת֒ אָר֤וּר אַתָּה֙ מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה וּמִכֹּ֖ל חַיַּ֣ת הַשָּׂדֶ֑ה עַל־גְּחֹנְךָ֣ תֵלֵ֔ךְ וְעָפָ֥ר תֹּאכַ֖ל כָּל־יְמֵ֥י חַיֶּֽיךָ׃
  
  15 וְאֵיבָ֣ה ׀ אָשִׁ֗ית בֵּֽינְךָ֙ וּבֵ֣ין הָֽאִשָּׁ֔ה וּבֵ֥ין זַרְעֲךָ֖ וּבֵ֣ין זַרְעָ֑הּ ה֚וּא יְשׁוּפְךָ֣ רֹ֔אשׁ וְאַתָּ֖ה תְּשׁוּפֶ֥נּוּ עָקֵֽב׃
  
  16 אֶֽל־הָאִשָּׁ֣ה אָמַ֗ר הַרְבָּ֤ה אַרְבֶּה֙ עִצְּבוֹנֵ֣ךְ וְהֵֽרֹנֵ֔ךְ בְּעֶ֖צֶב תֵּֽלְדִ֣י בָנִ֑ים וְאֶל־אִישֵׁךְ֙ תְּשׁ֣וּקָתֵ֔ךְ וְה֖וּא יִמְשָׁל־בָּֽךְ׃
  
  17 וּלְאָדָ֣ם אָמַ֗ר כִּֽי־שָׁמַעְתָּ֮ לְק֣וֹל אִשְׁתֶּךָ֒ וַתֹּ֙אכַל֙ מִן־הָעֵ֔ץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוִּיתִ֙יךָ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֥א תֹאכַ֖ל מִמֶּ֑נּוּ אֲרוּרָ֤ה הָֽאֲדָמָה֙ בַּֽעֲבוּרֶ֔ךָ בְּעִצָּבוֹן֙ תֹּֽאכֲלֶ֔נָּה כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֥י חַיֶּֽיךָ׃
  
  18 וְק֥וֹץ וְדַרְדַּ֖ר תַּצְמִ֣יחַֽ לָ֑ךְ וְאָכַלְתָּ֖ אֶת־עֵ֥שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃
  
  19 בְּזֵעַ֤ת אַפֶּ֙יךָ֙ תֹּ֣אכַל לֶ֔חֶם עַ֤ד שֽׁוּבְךָ֙ אֶל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה כִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נָּה לֻקָּ֑חְתָּ כִּֽי־עָפָ֣ר אַ֔תָּה וְאֶל־עָפָ֖ר תָּשֽׁוּב׃
  
  20 וַיִּקְרָ֧א הָֽאָדָ֛ם שֵׁ֥ם אִשְׁתּ֖וֹ חַוָּ֑ה כִּ֛י הִ֥וא הָֽיְתָ֖ה אֵ֥ם כָּל־חָֽי׃
  
  21 וַיַּעַשׂ֩ יְהוָ֨ה אֱלֹהִ֜ים לְאָדָ֧ם וּלְאִשְׁתּ֛וֹ כָּתְנ֥וֹת ע֖וֹר וַיַּלְבִּשֵֽׁם׃
  
  22 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֗ים הֵ֤ן הָֽאָדָם֙ הָיָה֙ כְּאַחַ֣ד מִמֶּ֔נּוּ לָדַ֖עַת ט֣וֹב וָרָ֑ע וְעַתָּ֣ה ׀ פֶּן־יִשְׁלַ֣ח יָד֗וֹ וְלָקַח֙ גַּ֚ם מֵעֵ֣ץ הַֽחַיִּ֔ים וְאָכַ֖ל וָחַ֥י לְעֹלָֽם׃
  
  23 וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֛הוּ יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהִ֖ים מִגַּן־עֵ֑דֶן לַֽעֲבֹד֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֻקַּ֖ח מִשָּֽׁם׃
  
  24 וַיְגָ֖רֶשׁ אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֑ם וַיַּשְׁכֵּן֩ מִקֶּ֨דֶם לְגַן־עֵ֜דֶן אֶת־הַכְּרֻבִ֗ים וְאֵ֨ת לַ֤הַט הַחֶ֙רֶב֙ הַמִּתְהַפֶּ֔כֶת לִשְׁמֹ֕ר אֶת־דֶּ֖רֶךְ עֵ֥ץ הַֽחַיִּֽים׃

  1 וַיִּגַּע֙ הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י וּבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּעָרִ֑ים סוַיֵּאָסְפ֥וּ הָעָ֛ם כְּאִ֥ישׁ אֶחָ֖ד אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
  
  2 וַיָּקָם֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וְאֶחָ֣יו הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים וּזְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בֶּן־שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ וְאֶחָ֔יו וַיִּבְנ֕וּ אֶת־מִזְבַּ֖ח אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְהַעֲל֤וֹת עָלָיו֙ עֹל֔וֹת כַּכָּת֕וּב בְּתוֹרַ֖ת מֹשֶׁ֥ה אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
  
  3 וַיָּכִ֤ינוּ הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ עַל־מְכ֣וֹנֹתָ֔יו כִּ֚י בְּאֵימָ֣ה עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם מֵעַמֵּ֖י הָאֲרָצ֑וֹת *ויעל **וַיַּעֲל֨וּ עָלָ֤יו עֹלוֹת֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה עֹל֖וֹת לַבֹּ֥קֶר וְלָעָֽרֶב׃
  
  4 וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֛וּ אֶת־חַ֥ג הַסֻּכּ֖וֹת כַּכָּת֑וּב וְעֹלַ֨ת י֤וֹם בְּיוֹם֙ בְּמִסְפָּ֔ר כְּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט דְּבַר־י֥וֹם בְּיוֹמֽוֹ׃
  
  5 וְאַחֲרֵיכֵ֞ן עֹלַ֤ת תָּמִיד֙ וְלֶ֣חֳדָשִׁ֔ים וּלְכָל־מוֹעֲדֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה הַמְקֻדָּשִׁ֑ים וּלְכֹ֛ל מִתְנַדֵּ֥ב נְדָבָ֖ה לַיהוָֽה׃
  
  6 מִיּ֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י הֵחֵ֕לּוּ לְהַעֲל֥וֹת עֹל֖וֹת לַיהוָ֑ה וְהֵיכַ֥ל יְהוָ֖ה לֹ֥א יֻסָּֽד׃
  
  7 וַיִּ֨תְּנוּ־כֶ֔סֶף לַחֹצְבִ֖ים וְלֶחָרָשִׁ֑ים וּמַאֲכָ֨ל וּמִשְׁתֶּ֜ה וָשֶׁ֗מֶן לַצִּֽדֹנִים֙ וְלַצֹּרִ֔ים לְהָבִיא֩ עֲצֵ֨י אֲרָזִ֤ים מִן־הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ אֶל־יָ֣ם יָפ֔וֹא כְּרִשְׁי֛וֹן כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־פָּרַ֖ס עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
  
  8 וּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשֵּׁנִ֗ית לְבוֹאָ֞ם אֶל־בֵּ֤ית הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ לִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם בַּחֹ֖דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֑י הֵחֵ֡לּוּ זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל בֶּן־שְׁ֠אַלְתִּיאֵל וְיֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן־יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וּשְׁאָ֥ר אֲחֵיהֶ֣ם ׀ הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֗ם וְכָל־הַבָּאִים֙ מֵהַשְּׁבִ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַיַּעֲמִ֣ידוּ אֶת־הַלְוִיִּ֗ם מִבֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָמַ֔עְלָה לְנַצֵּ֖חַ עַל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית־יְהוָֽה׃
  
  9 וַיַּעֲמֹ֣ד יֵשׁ֡וּעַ בָּנָ֣יו וְ֠אֶחָיו קַדְמִיאֵ֨ל וּבָנָ֤יו בְּנֵֽי־יְהוּדָה֙ כְּאֶחָ֔ד לְנַצֵּ֛חַ עַל־עֹשֵׂ֥ה הַמְּלָאכָ֖ה בְּבֵ֣ית הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים סבְּנֵי֙ חֵֽנָדָ֔ד בְּנֵיהֶ֥ם וַאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם הַלְוִיִּֽם׃
  
  10 וְיִסְּד֥וּ הַבֹּנִ֖ים אֶת־הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּעֲמִידוּ֩ הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים מְלֻבָּשִׁ֜ים בַּחֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת וְהַלְוִיִּ֤ם בְּנֵֽי־אָסָף֙ בַּֽמְצִלְתַּ֔יִם לְהַלֵּל֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה עַל־יְדֵ֖י דָּוִ֥יד מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  11 וַֽ֠יַּעֲנוּ בְּהַלֵּ֨ל וּבְהוֹדֹ֤ת לַֽיהוָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב כִּֽי־לְעוֹלָ֥ם חַסְדּ֖וֹ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְכָל־הָעָ֡ם הֵרִיעוּ֩ תְרוּעָ֙ה גְדוֹלָ֤ה בְהַלֵּל֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה עַ֖ל הוּסַ֥ד בֵּית־יְהוָֽה׃
  
  12 וְרַבִּ֡ים מֵהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּם֩ וְרָאשֵׁ֨י הָאָב֜וֹת הַזְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר רָא֜וּ אֶת־הַבַּ֤יִת הָֽרִאשׁוֹן֙ בְּיָסְד֔וֹ זֶ֤ה הַבַּ֙יִת֙ בְּעֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם בֹּכִ֖ים בְּק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וְרַבִּ֛ים בִּתְרוּעָ֥ה בְשִׂמְחָ֖ה לְהָרִ֥ים קֽוֹל׃
  
  13 וְאֵ֣ין הָעָ֗ם מַכִּירִים֙ ק֚וֹל תְּרוּעַ֣ת הַשִּׂמְחָ֔ה לְק֖וֹל בְּכִ֣י הָעָ֑ם כִּ֣י הָעָ֗ם מְרִיעִים֙ תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וְהַקּ֥וֹל נִשְׁמַ֖ע עַד־לְמֵרָחֽוֹק׃
  
  Matthieu 3
  
  1 Ἐν δὲ ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις παραγίνεται Ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς κηρύσσων ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τῆς Ἰουδαίας
  
  2 καὶ λέγων· Μετανοεῖτε, ἤγγικεν γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.
  
  3 οὗτος γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ῥηθεὶς διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· Φωνὴ βοῶντος ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ· Ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου, εὐθείας ποιεῖτε τὰς τρίβους αὐτοῦ.
  
  4 αὐτὸς δὲ ὁ Ἰωάννης εἶχεν τὸ ἔνδυμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τριχῶν καμήλου καὶ ζώνην δερματίνην περὶ τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτοῦ, ἡ δὲ τροφὴ ἦν αὐτοῦ ἀκρίδες καὶ μέλι ἄγριον.
  
  5 τότε ἐξεπορεύετο πρὸς αὐτὸν Ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ πᾶσα ἡ Ἰουδαία καὶ πᾶσα ἡ περίχωρος τοῦ Ἰορδάνου,
  
  6 καὶ ἐβαπτίζοντο ἐν τῷ Ἰορδάνῃ ποταμῷ ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ ἐξομολογούμενοι τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν.
  
  7 Ἰδὼν δὲ πολλοὺς τῶν Φαρισαίων καὶ Σαδδουκαίων ἐρχομένους ἐπὶ τὸ βάπτισμα αὐτοῦ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Γεννήματα ἐχιδνῶν, τίς ὑπέδειξεν ὑμῖν φυγεῖν ἀπὸ τῆς μελλούσης ὀργῆς;
  
  8 ποιήσατε οὖν καρπὸν ἄξιον τῆς μετανοίας
  
  9 καὶ μὴ δόξητε λέγειν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς· Πατέρα ἔχομεν τὸν Ἀβραάμ, λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι δύναται ὁ θεὸς ἐκ τῶν λίθων τούτων ἐγεῖραι τέκνα τῷ Ἀβραάμ.
  
  10 ἤδη δὲ ἡ ἀξίνη πρὸς τὴν ῥίζαν τῶν δένδρων κεῖται· πᾶν οὖν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται.
  
  11 Ἐγὼ μὲν ὑμᾶς βαπτίζω ἐν ὕδατι εἰς μετάνοιαν· ὁ δὲ ὀπίσω μου ἐρχόμενος ἰσχυρότερός μού ἐστιν, οὗ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς τὰ ὑποδήματα βαστάσαι· αὐτὸς ὑμᾶς βαπτίσει ἐν πνεύματι ἁγίῳ καὶ πυρί·
  
  12 οὗ τὸ πτύον ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ διακαθαριεῖ τὴν ἅλωνα αὐτοῦ καὶ συνάξει τὸν σῖτον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἀποθήκην, τὸ δὲ ἄχυρον κατακαύσει πυρὶ ἀσβέστῳ.
  
  13 Τότε παραγίνεται ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰορδάνην πρὸς τὸν Ἰωάννην τοῦ βαπτισθῆναι ὑπ’ αὐτοῦ.
  
  14 ὁ δὲ Ἰωάννης διεκώλυεν αὐτὸν λέγων· Ἐγὼ χρείαν ἔχω ὑπὸ σοῦ βαπτισθῆναι, καὶ σὺ ἔρχῃ πρός με;
  
  15 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν· Ἄφες ἄρτι, οὕτως γὰρ πρέπον ἐστὶν ἡμῖν πληρῶσαι πᾶσαν δικαιοσύνην. τότε ἀφίησιν αὐτόν.
  
  16 βαπτισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εὐθὺς ἀνέβη ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἠνεῴχθησαν οἱ οὐρανοί, καὶ εἶδεν πνεῦμα θεοῦ καταβαῖνον ὡσεὶ περιστερὰν ἐρχόμενον ἐπ’ αὐτόν·
  
  17 καὶ ἰδοὺ φωνὴ ἐκ τῶν οὐρανῶν λέγουσα· Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ υἱός μου ὁ ἀγαπητός, ἐν ᾧ εὐδόκησα.

  1 Or le serpent était plus rusé qu'aucun animal des champs que l'Éternel Dieu avait fait ; et il dit à la femme : Quoi, Dieu a dit : Vous ne mangerez pas de tout arbre du jardin ?
  
  2 Et la femme dit au serpent : Nous mangeons du fruit des arbres du jardin ;
  
  3 mais du fruit de l'arbre qui est au milieu du jardin, Dieu a dit : Vous n'en mangerez point, et vous n'y toucherez point, de peur que vous ne mouriez.
  
  4 Et le serpent dit à la femme : Vous ne mourrez point certainement ;
  
  5 car Dieu sait qu'au jour où vous en mangerez vos yeux seront ouverts, et vous serez comme Dieu, connaissant le bien et le mal.
  
  6 Et la femme vit que l'arbre était bon à manger, et qu'il était un plaisir pour les yeux, et que l'arbre était désirable pour rendre intelligent ; et elle prit de son fruit et en mangea ; et elle en donna aussi à son mari pour qu'il en mangeât avec elle, et il en mangea.
  
  7 Et les yeux de tous deux furent ouverts, et ils connurent qu'ils étaient nus ; et ils cousirent ensemble des feuilles de figuier et s'en firent des ceintures.
  
  8 Et ils entendirent la voix de l'Éternel Dieu qui se promenait dans le jardin au frais du jour. Et l'homme et sa femme se cachèrent de devant l'Éternel Dieu, au milieu des arbres du jardin.
  
  9 Et l'Éternel Dieu appela l'homme, et lui dit : Où es-tu ?
  
  10 Et il dit : J'ai entendu ta voix dans le jardin, et j'ai eu peur, car je suis nu, et je me suis caché.
  
  11 Et l'Éternel Dieu dit : Qui t'a montré que tu étais nu ? As-tu mangé de l'arbre dont je t'ai commandé de ne pas manger ?
  
  12 Et l'homme dit : La femme que tu m'as donnée pour être avec moi, -elle, m'a donné de l'arbre ; et j'en ai mangé.
  
  13 Et l'Éternel Dieu dit à la femme : Qu'est-ce que tu as fait ? Et la femme dit : Le serpent m'a séduite, et j'en ai mangé.
  
  14 Et l'Éternel Dieu dit au serpent : Parce que tu as fait cela, tu es maudit par-dessus tout le bétail et par-dessus toutes les bêtes des champs ; tu marcheras sur ton ventre, et tu mangeras la poussière tous les jours de ta vie ;
  
  15 et je mettrai inimitié entre toi et la femme, et entre ta semence et sa semence. Elle te brisera la tête, et toi tu lui briseras le talon.
  
  16 A la femme il dit : Je rendrai très-grandes tes souffrances et ta grossesse ; en travail tu enfanteras des enfants, et ton désir sera tourné vers ton mari ; et lui dominera sur toi.
  
  17 Et à Adam il dit : Parce que tu as écouté la voix de ta femme et que tu a mangé de l'arbre au sujet duquel je t'ai commandé, disant : Tu n'en mangeras pas, -maudit est le sol à cause de toi ; tu en mangeras en travaillant péniblement tous les jours de ta vie.
  
  18 Et il te fera germer des épines et des ronces, et tu mangeras l'herbe des champs.
  
  19 A la sueur de ton visage tu mangeras du pain, jusqu'à ce que tu retournes au sol, car c'est de lui que tu as été pris ; car tu es poussière et tu retourneras à la poussière.
  
  20 Et l'homme appela sa femme du nom d'Eve, parce qu'elle était la mère de tous les vivants.
  
  21 Et l'Éternel Dieu fit à Adam et à sa femme des vêtements de peau, et les revêtit.
  
  22 Et l'Éternel Dieu dit : Voici, l'homme est devenu comme l'un de nous, pour connaître le bien et le mal ; et maintenant, -afin qu'il n'avance pas sa main et ne prenne aussi de l'arbre de vie et n'en mange et ne vive à toujours.... !
  
  23 Et l'Éternel Dieu le mit hors du jardin d'Éden, pour labourer le sol, d'où il avait été pris :
  
  24 il chassa l'homme, et plaça à l'orient du jardin d'Éden les chérubins et la lame de l'épée qui tournait çà et là, pour garder le chemin de l'arbre de vie.

  1 Et quand arriva le septième mois, les fils d'Israël étant dans leurs villes, le peuple s'assembla comme un seul homme à Jérusalem.
  
  2 Et Jéshua, fils de Jotsadak, et ses frères les sacrificateurs, et Zorobabel, fils de Shealthiel, et ses frères, se levèrent et bâtirent l'autel du Dieu d'Israël, pour y offrir des holocaustes, selon ce qui est écrit dans la loi de Moïse, homme de Dieu.
  
  3 Et ils établirent l'autel sur son emplacement ; car la terreur des peuples de ces contrées était sur eux : et ils offrirent dessus des holocaustes à l'Éternel, les holocaustes du matin et du soir.
  
  4 Et ils firent la fête des tabernacles selon ce qui est écrit, et les holocaustes, jour par jour, selon leur nombre, selon l'ordonnance, le service de chaque jour en son jour,
  
  5 et après cela l'holocauste continuel, et celui des nouvelles lunes et de tous les jours solennels de l'Éternel qui étaient sanctifiés, et les holocaustes de tous ceux qui offraient une offrande volontaire à l'Éternel.
  
  6 Depuis le premier jour du septième mois ils commencèrent à offrir des holocaustes à l'Éternel ; mais les fondements du temple de l'Éternel n'étaient pas encore posés.
  
  7 Et ils donnèrent de l'argent aux tailleurs de pierres et aux charpentiers, et des vivres et des boissons et de l'huile aux Sidoniens et aux Tyriens, pour amener du Liban des bois de cèdre à la mer de Japho, suivant l'autorisation qu'ils avaient de Cyrus, roi de Perse.
  
  8 Et la seconde année de leur arrivée à la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem, au second mois, Zorobabel, fils de Shealthiel, et Jéshua, fils de Jotsadak, et le reste de leurs frères, les sacrificateurs et les lévites, et tous ceux qui étaient venus de la captivité à Jérusalem, commencèrent ; et ils établirent les lévites, depuis l'âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, pour surveiller l'oeuvre de la maison de l'Éternel.
  
  9 Alors Jéshua et ses fils et ses frères, Kadmiel et ses fils, les fils de Juda, se tinrent là comme un seul homme pour surveiller ceux qui faisaient l'ouvrage dans la maison de Dieu, et aussi les fils de Hénadad, leurs fils et leurs frères, les lévites.
  
  10 Et lorsque ceux qui bâtissaient posèrent les fondements du temple de l'Éternel, on fit assister les sacrificateurs revêtus de leurs robes, avec des trompettes, et les lévites, fils d'Asaph, avec des cymbales, pour louer l'Éternel selon les directions de David, roi d'Israël.
  
  11 Et ils s'entre-répondaient en louant et en célébrant l'Éternel : Car il est bon, car sa bonté envers Israël demeure à toujours. Et tout le peuple poussa de grands cris, en louant l'Éternel, parce qu'on posait les fondements de la maison de l'Éternel.
  
  12 Et beaucoup d'entre les sacrificateurs, et d'entre les lévites, et d'entre les chefs des pères, les vieillards qui avaient vu la première maison, pleuraient à haute voix lorsque les fondements de cette maison furent posés devant leurs yeux, et beaucoup poussaient des cris de joie, en élevant leur voix ;
  
  13 et le peuple ne pouvait distinguer entre le bruit des cris de joie et la voix du peuple qui pleurait ; car le peuple poussait de grands cris, et le bruit s'entendait au loin.
  
  Matthieu 3
  
  1 Or, en ces jours-là vient Jean le baptiseur, prêchant dans le désert de la Judée,
  
  2 et disant : Repentez-vous, car le royaume des cieux s'est approché.
  
  3 Car c'est ici celui dont il a été parlé par Ésaïe le prophète, disant : "Voix de celui qui crie dans le désert : Préparez le chemin du Seigneur, faites droits ses sentiers".
  
  4 Or Jean lui-même avait son vêtement de poil de chameau et une ceinture de cuir autour de ses reins ; et sa nourriture était des sauterelles et du miel sauvage.
  
  5 Alors Jérusalem, et toute la Judée, et tout le pays des environs du Jourdain, sortaient vers lui ;
  
  6 et ils étaient baptisés par lui dans le Jourdain, confessant leurs péchés.
  
  7 Et voyant plusieurs des pharisiens et des sadducéens qui venaient à son baptême, il leur dit : Race de vipères, qui vous a avertis de fuir la colère qui vient ?
  
  8 Produisez donc du fruit qui convienne à la repentance ;
  
  9 et ne pensez pas de dire en vous-mêmes : Nous avons Abraham pour père ; car je vous dis que Dieu peut, de ces pierres, susciter des enfants à Abraham.
  
  10 Et déjà la cognée est mise à la racine des arbres ; tout arbre donc qui ne produit pas de bon fruit est coupé et jeté au feu.
  
  11 Moi, je vous baptise d'eau pour la repentance ; mais celui qui vient après moi est plus puissant que moi, et je ne suis pas digne de porter ses sandales : lui vous baptisera de l'Esprit Saint et de feu.
  
  12 Il a son van dans sa main, et il nettoiera entièrement son aire et assemblera son froment dans le grenier ; mais il brûlera la balle au feu inextinguible.
  
  13 Jésus vient de Galilée au Jourdain auprès de Jean, pour être baptisé par lui ;
  
  14 mais Jean l'en empêchait fort, disant : Moi, j'ai besoin d'être baptisé par toi, et toi, tu viens à moi !
  
  15 Et Jésus, répondant, lui dit : Laisse faire maintenant, car ainsi il nous est convenable d'accomplir toute justice.
  
  16 Alors il le laissa faire. Et Jésus, ayant été baptisé, monta aussitôt, s'éloignant de l'eau ; et voici, les cieux lui furent ouverts, et il vit l'Esprit de Dieu descendre comme une colombe, et venant sur lui.
  
  17 Et voici une voix qui venait des cieux, disant : Celui-ci est mon fils bien-aimé, en qui j'ai trouvé mon plaisir.
