- Genèse 6
  
  1 It happened, when men began to multiply on the surface of the ground, and daughters were born to them,
  
  2 that God's sons saw that men's daughters were beautiful, and they took for themselves wives of all that they chose.
  
  3 Yahweh said, "My Spirit will not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; yet will his days be one hundred twenty years."
  
  4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when God's sons came in to men's daughters. They bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
  
  5 Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
  
  6 Yahweh was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him in his heart.
  
  7 Yahweh said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them."
  
  8 But Noah found favor in Yahweh's eyes.
  
  9 This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time. Noah walked with God.
  
  10 Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
  
  11 The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
  
  12 God saw the earth, and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
  
  13 God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
  
  14 Make a ship of gopher wood. You shall make rooms in the ship, and shall seal it inside and outside with pitch.
  
  15 This is how you shall make it. The length of the ship will be three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.
  
  16 You shall make a roof in the ship, and you shall finish it to a cubit upward. You shall set the door of the ship in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third levels.
  
  17 I, even I, do bring the flood of waters on this earth, to destroy all flesh having the breath of life from under the sky. Everything that is in the earth will die.
  
  18 But I will establish my covenant with you. You shall come into the ship, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.
  
  19 Of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ship, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
  
  20 Of the birds after their kind, of the livestock after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every sort shall come to you, to keep them alive.
  
  21 Take with you of all food that is eaten, and gather it to yourself; and it will be for food for you, and for them."
  
  22 Thus Noah did. According to all that God commanded him, so he did.
  
  Esdras 6
  
  1 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
  
  2 There was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a scroll, and therein was thus written for a record:
  
  3 In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning God's house at Jerusalem, let the house be built, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let its foundations be strongly laid; its height sixty cubits, and its breadth sixty cubits;
  
  4 with three courses of great stones, and a course of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house.
  
  5 Also let the gold and silver vessels of God's house, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought to Babylon, be restored, and brought again to the temple which is at Jerusalem, everyone to its place; and you shall put them in God's house.
  
  6 Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and your companions the Apharsachites, who are beyond the River, you must stay far from there.
  
  7 Leave the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.
  
  8 Moreover I make a decree what you shall do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence to these men, that they be not hindered.
  
  9 That which they have need of, both young bulls, and rams, and lambs, for burnt offerings to the God of heaven; also wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests who are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;
  
  10 that they may offer sacrifices of pleasant aroma to the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
  
  11 Also I have made a decree, that whoever shall alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this:
  
  12 and the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples who shall put forth their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence.
  
  13 Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shetharbozenai, and their companions, because Darius the king had sent a decree, did accordingly with all diligence.
  
  14 The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
  
  15 This house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
  
  16 The children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
  
  17 They offered at the dedication of this house of God one hundred bulls, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
  
  18 They set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.
  
  19 The children of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
  
  20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure: and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.
  
  21 The children of Israel who had come again out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves to them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, ate,
  
  22 and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for Yahweh had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, to strengthen their hands in the work of God's house, the God of Israel.
  
  Matthieu 6
  
  1 "Be careful that you don't do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
  
  2 Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don't sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
  
  3 But when you do merciful deeds, don't let your left hand know what your right hand does,
  
  4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
  
  5 "When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
  
  6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
  
  7 In praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
  
  8 Therefore don't be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him.
  
  9 Pray like this: 'Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
  
  10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
  
  11 Give us today our daily bread.
  
  12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
  
  13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. '
  
  14 "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  
  15 But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
  
  16 "Moreover when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
  
  17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;
  
  18 so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
  
  19 "Don't lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
  
  20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don't break through and steal;
  
  21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
  
  22 "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
  
  23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
  
  24 "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't serve both God and Mammon.
  
  25 Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
  
  26 See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?
  
  27 "Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
  
  28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin,
  
  29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
  
  30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
  
  31 "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?'
  
  32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
  
  33 But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
  
  34 Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient.

  1 וַֽיְהִי֙ כִּֽי־הֵחֵ֣ל הָֽאָדָ֔ם לָרֹ֖ב עַל־פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֑ה וּבָנ֖וֹת יֻלְּד֥וּ לָהֶֽם׃
  
  2 וַיִּרְא֤וּ בְנֵי־הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־בְּנ֣וֹת הָֽאָדָ֔ם כִּ֥י טֹבֹ֖ת הֵ֑נָּה וַיִּקְח֤וּ לָהֶם֙ נָשִׁ֔ים מִכֹּ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּחָֽרוּ׃
  
  3 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה לֹֽא־יָד֨וֹן רוּחִ֤י בָֽאָדָם֙ לְעֹלָ֔ם בְּשַׁגַּ֖ם ה֣וּא בָשָׂ֑ר וְהָי֣וּ יָמָ֔יו מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃
  
  4 הַנְּפִלִ֞ים הָי֣וּ בָאָרֶץ֮ בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵם֒ וְגַ֣ם אַֽחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָבֹ֜אוּ בְּנֵ֤י הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶל־בְּנ֣וֹת הָֽאָדָ֔ם וְיָלְד֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם הֵ֧מָּה הַגִּבֹּרִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר מֵעוֹלָ֖ם אַנְשֵׁ֥י הַשֵּֽׁם׃
  
  5 וַיַּ֣רְא יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י רַבָּ֛ה רָעַ֥ת הָאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וְכָל־יֵ֙צֶר֙ מַחְשְׁבֹ֣ת לִבּ֔וֹ רַ֥ק רַ֖ע כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃
  
  6 וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם יְהוָ֔ה כִּֽי־עָשָׂ֥ה אֶת־הָֽאָדָ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ וַיִּתְעַצֵּ֖ב אֶל־לִבּֽוֹ׃
  
  7 וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֗ה אֶמְחֶ֨ה אֶת־הָאָדָ֤ם אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָ֙אתִי֙ מֵעַל֙ פְּנֵ֣י הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה מֵֽאָדָם֙ עַד־בְּהֵמָ֔ה עַד־רֶ֖מֶשׂ וְעַד־ע֣וֹף הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כִּ֥י נִחַ֖מְתִּי כִּ֥י עֲשִׂיתִֽם׃
  
  8 וְנֹ֕חַ מָ֥צָא חֵ֖ן בְּעֵינֵ֥י יְהוָֽה׃
  
  9 אֵ֚לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֣ת נֹ֔חַ נֹ֗חַ אִ֥ישׁ צַדִּ֛יק תָּמִ֥ים הָיָ֖ה בְּדֹֽרֹתָ֑יו אֶת־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים הִֽתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹֽחַ׃
  
  10 וַיּ֥וֹלֶד נֹ֖חַ שְׁלֹשָׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים אֶת־שֵׁ֖ם אֶת־חָ֥ם וְאֶת־יָֽפֶת׃
  
  11 וַתִּשָּׁחֵ֥ת הָאָ֖רֶץ לִפְנֵ֣י הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַתִּמָּלֵ֥א הָאָ֖רֶץ חָמָֽס׃
  
  12 וַיַּ֧רְא אֱלֹהִ֛ים אֶת־הָאָ֖רֶץ וְהִנֵּ֣ה נִשְׁחָ֑תָה כִּֽי־הִשְׁחִ֧ית כָּל־בָּשָׂ֛ר אֶת־דַּרְכּ֖וֹ עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
  
  13 וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֱלֹהִ֜ים לְנֹ֗חַ קֵ֤ץ כָּל־בָּשָׂר֙ בָּ֣א לְפָנַ֔י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ֥ה הָאָ֛רֶץ חָמָ֖ס מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם וְהִנְנִ֥י מַשְׁחִיתָ֖ם אֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
  
  14 עֲשֵׂ֤ה לְךָ֙ תֵּבַ֣ת עֲצֵי־גֹ֔פֶר קִנִּ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה אֶת־הַתֵּבָ֑ה וְכָֽפַרְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֛הּ מִבַּ֥יִת וּמִח֖וּץ בַּכֹּֽפֶר׃
  
  15 וְזֶ֕ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֖ה אֹתָ֑הּ שְׁלֹ֧שׁ מֵא֣וֹת אַמָּ֗ה אֹ֚רֶךְ הַתֵּבָ֔ה חֲמִשִּׁ֤ים אַמָּה֙ רָחְבָּ֔הּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים אַמָּ֖ה קוֹמָתָֽהּ׃
  
  16 צֹ֣הַר ׀ תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֣ה לַתֵּבָ֗ה וְאֶל־אַמָּה֙ תְּכַלֶ֣נָּה מִלְמַ֔עְלָה וּפֶ֥תַח הַתֵּבָ֖ה בְּצִדָּ֣הּ תָּשִׂ֑ים תַּחְתִּיִּ֛ם שְׁנִיִּ֥ם וּשְׁלִשִׁ֖ים תַּֽעֲשֶֽׂהָ׃
  
  17 וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִי֩ מֵבִ֨יא אֶת־הַמַּבּ֥וּל מַ֙יִם֙ עַל־הָאָ֔רֶץ לְשַׁחֵ֣ת כָּל־בָּשָׂ֗ר אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ֙ ר֣וּחַ חַיִּ֔ים מִתַּ֖חַת הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם כֹּ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָ֖רֶץ יִגְוָֽע׃
  
  18 וַהֲקִמֹתִ֥י אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י אִתָּ֑ךְ וּבָאתָ֙ אֶל־הַתֵּבָ֔ה אַתָּ֕ה וּבָנֶ֛יךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ֥ וּנְשֵֽׁי־בָנֶ֖יךָ אִתָּֽךְ׃
  
  19 וּמִכָּל־הָ֠חַי מִֽכָּל־בָּשָׂ֞ר שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל תָּבִ֥יא אֶל־הַתֵּבָ֖ה לְהַחֲיֹ֣ת אִתָּ֑ךְ זָכָ֥ר וּנְקֵבָ֖ה יִֽהְיֽוּ׃
  
  20 מֵהָע֣וֹף לְמִינֵ֗הוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה֙ לְמִינָ֔הּ מִכֹּ֛ל רֶ֥מֶשׂ הָֽאֲדָמָ֖ה לְמִינֵ֑הוּ שְׁנַ֧יִם מִכֹּ֛ל יָבֹ֥אוּ אֵלֶ֖יךָ לְהַֽחֲיֽוֹת׃
  
  21 וְאַתָּ֣ה קַח־לְךָ֗ מִכָּל־מַֽאֲכָל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֵלֶ֑יךָ וְהָיָ֥ה לְךָ֛ וְלָהֶ֖ם לְאָכְלָֽה׃
  
  22 וַיַּ֖עַשׂ נֹ֑חַ כְּ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֥ה אֹת֛וֹ אֱלֹהִ֖ים כֵּ֥ן עָשָֽׂה׃

  1 בֵּאדַ֛יִן דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֖א שָׂ֣ם טְעֵ֑ם וּבַקַּ֣רוּ ׀ בְּבֵ֣ית סִפְרַיָּ֗א דִּ֧י גִנְזַיָּ֛א מְהַחֲתִ֥ין תַּמָּ֖ה בְּבָבֶֽל׃
  
  2 וְהִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח בְּאַחְמְתָ֗א בְּבִֽירְתָ֛א דִּ֛י בְּמָדַ֥י מְדִינְתָּ֖ה מְגִלָּ֣ה חֲדָ֑ה וְכֵן־כְּתִ֥יב בְּגַוַּ֖הּ דִּכְרוֹנָֽה׃
  
  3 בִּשְׁנַ֨ת חֲדָ֜ה לְכ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֗א כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ מַלְכָּא֮ שָׂ֣ם טְעֵם֒ בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֤א בִֽירוּשְׁלֶם֙ בַּיְתָ֣א יִתְבְּנֵ֔א אֲתַר֙ דִּֽי־דָבְחִ֣ין דִּבְחִ֔ין וְאֻשּׁ֖וֹהִי מְסֽוֹבְלִ֑ין רוּמֵהּ֙ אַמִּ֣ין שִׁתִּ֔ין פְּתָיֵ֖הּ אַמִּ֥ין שִׁתִּֽין׃
  
  4 נִדְבָּכִ֞ין דִּי־אֶ֤בֶן גְּלָל֙ תְּלָתָ֔א וְנִדְבָּ֖ךְ דִּי־אָ֣ע חֲדַ֑ת וְנִ֨פְקְתָ֔א מִן־בֵּ֥ית מַלְכָּ֖א תִּתְיְהִֽב׃
  
  5 וְ֠אַף מָאנֵ֣י בֵית־אֱלָהָא֮ דִּ֣י דַהֲבָ֣ה וְכַסְפָּא֒ דִּ֣י נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר הַנְפֵּ֛ק מִן־הֵיכְלָ֥א דִי־בִירוּשְׁלֶ֖ם וְהֵיבֵ֣ל לְבָבֶ֑ל יַהֲתִיב֗וּן וִ֠יהָךְ לְהֵיכְלָ֤א דִי־בִירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לְאַתְרֵ֔הּ וְתַחֵ֖ת בְּבֵ֥ית אֱלָהָֽא׃
  
  6 כְּעַ֡ן תַּ֠תְּנַי פַּחַ֨ת עֲבַֽר־נַהֲרָ֜ה שְׁתַ֤ר בּוֹזְנַי֙ וּכְנָוָ֣תְה֔וֹן אֲפַרְסְכָיֵ֔א דִּ֖י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑ה רַחִיקִ֥ין הֲו֖וֹ מִן־תַּמָּֽה׃
  
  7 שְׁבֻ֕קוּ לַעֲבִידַ֖ת בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ פַּחַ֤ת יְהוּדָיֵא֙ וּלְשָׂבֵ֣י יְהוּדָיֵ֔א בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֥א דֵ֖ךְ יִבְנ֥וֹן עַל־אַתְרֵֽהּ׃
  
  8 וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ לְמָ֣א דִֽי־תַֽעַבְד֗וּן עִם־שָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ אִלֵּ֔ךְ לְמִבְנֵ֖א בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דֵ֑ךְ וּמִנִּכְסֵ֣י מַלְכָּ֗א דִּ֚י מִדַּת֙ עֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔ה אָסְפַּ֗רְנָא נִפְקְתָ֛א תֶּהֱוֵ֧א מִֽתְיַהֲבָ֛א לְגֻבְרַיָּ֥א אִלֵּ֖ךְ דִּי־לָ֥א לְבַטָּלָֽא׃
  
  9 וּמָ֣ה חַשְׁחָ֡ן וּבְנֵ֣י תוֹרִ֣ין וְדִכְרִ֣ין וְאִמְּרִ֣ין ׀ לַעֲלָוָ֣ן ׀ לֶאֱלָ֪הּ שְׁמַיָּ֟א חִנְטִ֞ין מְלַ֣ח ׀ חֲמַ֣ר וּמְשַׁ֗ח כְּמֵאמַ֨ר כָּהֲנַיָּ֤א דִי־בִירֽוּשְׁלֶם֙ לֶהֱוֵ֨א מִתְיְהֵ֥ב לְהֹ֛ם י֥וֹם ׀ בְּי֖וֹם דִּי־לָ֥א שָׁלֽוּ׃
  
  10 דִּֽי־לֶהֱוֺ֧ן מְהַקְרְבִ֛ין נִיחוֹחִ֖ין לֶאֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑א וּמְצַלַּ֕יִן לְחַיֵּ֥י מַלְכָּ֖א וּבְנֽוֹהִי׃
  
  11 וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כָל־אֱנָ֗שׁ דִּ֤י יְהַשְׁנֵא֙ פִּתְגָמָ֣א דְנָ֔ה יִתְנְסַ֥ח אָע֙ מִן־בַּיְתֵ֔הּ וּזְקִ֖יף יִתְמְחֵ֣א עֲלֹ֑הִי וּבַיְתֵ֛הּ נְוָל֥וּ יִתְעֲבֵ֖ד עַל־דְּנָֽה׃

  13 אֱ֠דַיִן תַּתְּנַ֞י פַּחַ֧ת עֲבַֽר־נַהֲרָ֛ה שְׁתַ֥ר בּוֹזְנַ֖י וּכְנָוָתְה֑וֹן לָקֳבֵ֗ל דִּֽי־שְׁלַ֞ח דָּרְיָ֧וֶשׁ מַלְכָּ֛א כְּנֵ֖מָא אָסְפַּ֥רְנָא עֲבַֽדוּ׃
  
  14 וְשָׂבֵ֤י יְהוּדָיֵא֙ בָּנַ֣יִן וּמַצְלְחִ֔ין בִּנְבוּאַת֙ חַגַּ֣י *נביאה **נְבִיָּ֔א וּזְכַרְיָ֖ה בַּר־עִדּ֑וֹא וּבְנ֣וֹ וְשַׁכְלִ֗לוּ מִן־טַ֙עַם֙ אֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמִטְּעֵם֙ כּ֣וֹרֶשׁ וְדָרְיָ֔וֶשׁ וְאַרְתַּחְשַׁ֖שְׂתְּא מֶ֥לֶךְ פָּרָֽס׃
  
  15 וְשֵׁיצִיא֙ בַּיְתָ֣ה דְנָ֔ה עַ֛ד י֥וֹם תְּלָתָ֖ה לִירַ֣ח אֲדָ֑ר דִּי־הִ֣יא שְׁנַת־שֵׁ֔ת לְמַלְכ֖וּת דָּרְיָ֥וֶשׁ מַלְכָּֽא׃
  
  16 וַעֲבַ֣דוּ בְנֵֽי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל כָּהֲנַיָּ֨א וְלֵוָיֵ֜א וּשְׁאָ֣ר בְּנֵי־גָלוּתָ֗א חֲנֻכַּ֛ת בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֥א דְנָ֖ה בְּחֶדְוָֽה׃
  
  17 וְהַקְרִ֗בוּ לַחֲנֻכַּת֮ בֵּית־אֱלָהָ֣א דְנָה֒ תּוֹרִ֣ין מְאָ֔ה דִּכְרִ֣ין מָאתַ֔יִן אִמְּרִ֖ין אַרְבַּ֣ע מְאָ֑ה וּצְפִירֵ֨י עִזִּ֜ין *לחטיא **לְחַטָּאָ֤ה עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ תְּרֵֽי־עֲשַׂ֔ר לְמִנְיָ֖ן שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  18 וַהֲקִ֨ימוּ כָהֲנַיָּ֜א בִּפְלֻגָּתְה֗וֹן וְלֵוָיֵא֙ בְּמַחְלְקָ֣תְה֔וֹן עַל־עֲבִידַ֥ת אֱלָהָ֖א דִּ֣י בִירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם כִּכְתָ֖ב סְפַ֥ר מֹשֶֽׁה׃
  
  19 וַיַּעֲשׂ֥וּ בְנֵי־הַגּוֹלָ֖ה אֶת־הַפָּ֑סַח בְּאַרְבָּעָ֥ה עָשָׂ֖ר לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃
  
  20 כִּ֣י הִֽטַּהֲר֞וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם כְּאֶחָ֖ד כֻּלָּ֣ם טְהוֹרִ֑ים וַיִּשְׁחֲט֤וּ הַפֶּ֙סַח֙ לְכָל־בְּנֵ֣י הַגּוֹלָ֔ה וְלַאֲחֵיהֶ֥ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְלָהֶֽם׃
  
  21 וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל הַשָּׁבִים֙ מֵֽהַגּוֹלָ֔ה וְכֹ֗ל הַנִּבְדָּ֛ל מִטֻּמְאַ֥ת גּוֹיֵֽ־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲלֵהֶ֑ם לִדְרֹ֕שׁ לַֽיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

  1 Προσέχετε δὲ τὴν δικαιοσύνην ὑμῶν μὴ ποιεῖν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ἀνθρώπων πρὸς τὸ θεαθῆναι αὐτοῖς· εἰ δὲ μή γε, μισθὸν οὐκ ἔχετε παρὰ τῷ πατρὶ ὑμῶν τῷ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
  
  2 Ὅταν οὖν ποιῇς ἐλεημοσύνην, μὴ σαλπίσῃς ἔμπροσθέν σου, ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ ποιοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς ῥύμαις, ὅπως δοξασθῶσιν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.
  
  3 σοῦ δὲ ποιοῦντος ἐλεημοσύνην μὴ γνώτω ἡ ἀριστερά σου τί ποιεῖ ἡ δεξιά σου,
  
  4 ὅπως ᾖ σου ἡ ἐλεημοσύνη ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ ἀποδώσει σοι.
  
  5 Καὶ ὅταν προσεύχησθε, οὐκ ἔσεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταί· ὅτι φιλοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς γωνίαις τῶν πλατειῶν ἑστῶτες προσεύχεσθαι, ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσι τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.
  
  6 σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ, εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν σου πρόσευξαι τῷ πατρί σου τῷ ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ ἀποδώσει σοι.
  
  7 Προσευχόμενοι δὲ μὴ βατταλογήσητε ὥσπερ οἱ ἐθνικοί, δοκοῦσιν γὰρ ὅτι ἐν τῇ πολυλογίᾳ αὐτῶν εἰσακουσθήσονται·
  
  8 μὴ οὖν ὁμοιωθῆτε αὐτοῖς, οἶδεν γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὧν χρείαν ἔχετε πρὸ τοῦ ὑμᾶς αἰτῆσαι αὐτόν.
  
  9 Οὕτως οὖν προσεύχεσθε ὑμεῖς· Πάτερ ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς· ἁγιασθήτω τὸ ὄνομά σου,
  
  10 ἐλθέτω ἡ βασιλεία σου, γενηθήτω τὸ θέλημά σου, ὡς ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς·
  
  11 τὸν ἄρτον ἡμῶν τὸν ἐπιούσιον δὸς ἡμῖν σήμερον·
  
  12 καὶ ἄφες ἡμῖν τὰ ὀφειλήματα ἡμῶν, ὡς καὶ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν τοῖς ὀφειλέταις ἡμῶν·
  
  13 καὶ μὴ εἰσενέγκῃς ἡμᾶς εἰς πειρασμόν, ἀλλὰ ῥῦσαι ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ.
  
  14 ἐὰν γὰρ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τὰ παραπτώματα αὐτῶν, ἀφήσει καὶ ὑμῖν ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος·
  
  15 ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀφῆτε τοῖς ἀνθρώποις, οὐδὲ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ἀφήσει τὰ παραπτώματα ὑμῶν.
  
  16 Ὅταν δὲ νηστεύητε, μὴ γίνεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταὶ σκυθρωποί, ἀφανίζουσιν γὰρ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύοντες· ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.
  
  17 σὺ δὲ νηστεύων ἄλειψαί σου τὴν κεφαλὴν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπόν σου νίψαι,
  
  18 ὅπως μὴ φανῇς τοῖς ἀνθρώποις νηστεύων ἀλλὰ τῷ πατρί σου τῷ ἐν τῷ κρυφαίῳ· καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυφαίῳ ἀποδώσει σοι.
  
  19 Μὴ θησαυρίζετε ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ὅπου σὴς καὶ βρῶσις ἀφανίζει, καὶ ὅπου κλέπται διορύσσουσιν καὶ κλέπτουσιν·
  
  20 θησαυρίζετε δὲ ὑμῖν θησαυροὺς ἐν οὐρανῷ, ὅπου οὔτε σὴς οὔτε βρῶσις ἀφανίζει, καὶ ὅπου κλέπται οὐ διορύσσουσιν οὐδὲ κλέπτουσιν·
  
  21 ὅπου γάρ ἐστιν ὁ θησαυρός σου, ἐκεῖ ἔσται καὶ ἡ καρδία σου.
  
  22 Ὁ λύχνος τοῦ σώματός ἐστιν ὁ ὀφθαλμός. ἐὰν οὖν ᾖ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἁπλοῦς, ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου φωτεινὸν ἔσται·
  
  23 ἐὰν δὲ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρὸς ᾖ, ὅλον τὸ σῶμά σου σκοτεινὸν ἔσται. εἰ οὖν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἐν σοὶ σκότος ἐστίν, τὸ σκότος πόσον.
  
  24 Οὐδεὶς δύναται δυσὶ κυρίοις δουλεύειν· ἢ γὰρ τὸν ἕνα μισήσει καὶ τὸν ἕτερον ἀγαπήσει, ἢ ἑνὸς ἀνθέξεται καὶ τοῦ ἑτέρου καταφρονήσει. οὐ δύνασθε θεῷ δουλεύειν καὶ μαμωνᾷ.
  
  25 Διὰ τοῦτο λέγω ὑμῖν· μὴ μεριμνᾶτε τῇ ψυχῇ ὑμῶν τί φάγητε, μηδὲ τῷ σώματι ὑμῶν τί ἐνδύσησθε· οὐχὶ ἡ ψυχὴ πλεῖόν ἐστι τῆς τροφῆς καὶ τὸ σῶμα τοῦ ἐνδύματος;
  
  26 ἐμβλέψατε εἰς τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ὅτι οὐ σπείρουσιν οὐδὲ θερίζουσιν οὐδὲ συνάγουσιν εἰς ἀποθήκας, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος τρέφει αὐτά· οὐχ ὑμεῖς μᾶλλον διαφέρετε αὐτῶν;
  
  27 τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν μεριμνῶν δύναται προσθεῖναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἡλικίαν αὐτοῦ πῆχυν ἕνα;
  
  28 καὶ περὶ ἐνδύματος τί μεριμνᾶτε; καταμάθετε τὰ κρίνα τοῦ ἀγροῦ πῶς αὐξάνουσιν· οὐ κοπιῶσιν οὐδὲ νήθουσιν·
  
  29 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐδὲ Σολομὼν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ περιεβάλετο ὡς ἓν τούτων.
  
  30 εἰ δὲ τὸν χόρτον τοῦ ἀγροῦ σήμερον ὄντα καὶ αὔριον εἰς κλίβανον βαλλόμενον ὁ θεὸς οὕτως ἀμφιέννυσιν, οὐ πολλῷ μᾶλλον ὑμᾶς, ὀλιγόπιστοι;
  
  31 μὴ οὖν μεριμνήσητε λέγοντες· Τί φάγωμεν; ἤ· Τί πίωμεν; ἤ· Τί περιβαλώμεθα;
  
  32 πάντα γὰρ ταῦτα τὰ ἔθνη ἐπιζητοῦσιν· οἶδεν γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος ὅτι χρῄζετε τούτων ἁπάντων.
  
  33 ζητεῖτε δὲ πρῶτον τὴν βασιλείαν καὶ τὴν δικαιοσύνην αὐτοῦ, καὶ ταῦτα πάντα προστεθήσεται ὑμῖν.
  
  34 μὴ οὖν μεριμνήσητε εἰς τὴν αὔριον, ἡ γὰρ αὔριον μεριμνήσει αὑτῆς· ἀρκετὸν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἡ κακία αὐτῆς.

  1 Et il arriva, quand les hommes commencèrent à se multiplier sur la face de la terre et que des filles leur furent nées,
  
  2 que les fils de Dieu virent les filles des hommes, qu'elles étaient belles, et ils se prirent des femmes d'entre toutes celles qu'ils choisirent.
  
  3 Et l'Éternel dit : Mon Esprit ne contestera pas à toujours avec l'homme, puisque lui n'est que chair ; mais ses jours seront cent vingt ans.
  
  4 Les géants étaient sur la terre en ces jours-là, et aussi après que les fils de Dieu furent venus vers les filles des hommes et qu'elles leur eurent donné des enfants : ceux-ci furent les vaillants hommes de jadis, des hommes de renom.
  
  5 Et l'Éternel vit que la méchanceté de l'homme était grande sur la terre, et que toute l'imagination des pensées de son coeur n'était que méchanceté en tout temps.
  
  6 Et l'Éternel se repentit d'avoir fait l'homme sur la terre, et il s'en affligea dans son coeur.
  
  7 Et l'Éternel dit : J'exterminerai de dessus la face de la terre l'homme que j'ai créé, depuis l'homme jusqu'au bétail, jusqu'aux reptiles, et jusqu'aux oiseaux des cieux, car je me repens de les avoir faits.
  
  8 Mais Noé trouva grâce aux yeux de l'Éternel.
  
  9 Ce sont ici les générations de Noé : Noé était un homme juste ; il était parfait parmi ceux de son temps ; Noé marchait avec Dieu.
  
  10 Et Noé engendra trois fils : Sem, Cham, et Japheth.
  
  11 Et la terre était corrompue devant Dieu, et la terre était pleine de violence.
  
  12 Et Dieu regarda la terre, et voici, elle était corrompue, car toute chair avait corrompu sa voie sur la terre.
  
  13 Et Dieu dit à Noé : La fin de toute chair est venue devant moi, car la terre est pleine de violence à cause d'eux ; et voici, je vais les détruire avec la terre.
  
  14 Fais-toi une arche de bois de gopher. Tu feras l'arche avec des loges, et tu l'enduiras de poix en dedans et en dehors.
  
  15 Et c'est ainsi que tu la feras : la longueur de l'arche sera de trois cents coudées, sa largeur de cinquante coudées, et sa hauteur de trente coudées.
  
  16 Tu feras un jour à l'arche, et tu l'achèveras en lui donnant une coudée d'en haut ; et tu placeras la porte de l'arche sur son côté ; tu y feras un étage inférieur, un second, et un troisième.
  
  17 Et moi, voici, je fais venir le déluge d'eaux sur la terre, pour détruire de dessous les cieux toute chair en laquelle il y a esprit de vie ; tout ce qui est sur la terre expirera.
  
  18 Et j'établis mon alliance avec toi, et tu entreras dans l'arche, toi, et tes fils et ta femme et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.
  
  19 Et de tout ce qui vit, de toute chair, tu feras entrer dans l'arche deux de chaque espèce, pour les conserver en vie avec toi ; ce seront le mâle et la femelle.
  
  20 Des oiseaux selon leur espèce, et du bétail selon son espèce, de tout reptile du sol selon son espèce, deux de chaque espèce entreront vers toi, pour les conserver en vie.
  
  21 Et toi, prends de tout aliment qui se mange, et tu en feras provision près de toi ; et cela vous sera pour nourriture, à toi et à eux.
  
  22 Et Noé le fit ; selon tout ce que Dieu lui avait commandé, ainsi il fit.

  1 Alors le roi Darius donna ordre, et on chercha dans la maison des archives où étaient déposés les trésors, à Babylone.
  
  2 Et on trouva à Akhmetha, dans la capitale qui est dans la province de Médie, un rouleau, et, dedans, un mémoire ainsi écrit :
  
  3 La première année du roi Cyrus, le roi Cyrus donna l'ordre, touchant la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem : Que la maison soit bâtie pour être un lieu où l'on offre des sacrifices, et que ses fondements soient solides. Sa hauteur sera de soixante coudées, sa largeur de soixante coudées,
  
  4 avec trois rangées de grandes pierres, et une rangée de bois neuf ; et que les dépenses soient payées par la maison du roi ;
  
  5 et aussi que les ustensiles d'or et d'argent de la maison de Dieu, que Nebucadnetsar a sortis du temple de Jérusalem et a emportés à Babylone, soient rendus, et qu'on les porte au temple de Jérusalem, en leur lieu ; et tu les placeras dans la maison de Dieu.
  
  6 Ainsi, Thathnaï, gouverneur de l'autre côté du fleuve, Shethar-Boznaï, et leurs collègues, les Apharsakites, qui êtes de l'autre côté du fleuve, tenez-vous loin de là ;
  
  7 laissez se faire le travail de cette maison de Dieu. Que le gouverneur des Juifs et les anciens des Juifs bâtissent cette maison de Dieu sur son emplacement.
  
  8 Et, de par moi, ordre est donné touchant ce que vous ferez à l'égard de ces anciens des Juifs pour la construction de cette maison de Dieu : Que, des biens du roi provenant du tribut de l'autre côté du fleuve, les dépenses soient promptement payées à ces hommes, pour qu'ils ne soient pas interrompus ;
  
  9 et que ce qui leur est nécessaire, jeunes taureaux, et béliers, et agneaux, pour les holocaustes au Dieu des cieux, froment, sel, vin, et huile, selon l'ordre des sacrificateurs qui sont à Jérusalem, leur soit donné, jour par jour, sans manquer,
  
  10 afin qu'ils offrent de l'encens au Dieu des cieux et qu'ils prient pour la vie du roi et de ses fils.
  
  11 Et de par moi ordre est donné, que si quelque homme change ce rescrit, un bois soit arraché de sa maison et dressé, et qu'il y soit attaché, et que sa maison soit réduite en un tas de fumier à cause de cela.
  
  12 Et que le Dieu qui y a fait demeurer son nom renverse tout roi et peuple qui étendrait sa main pour changer et pour détruire cette maison de Dieu qui est à Jérusalem. Moi, Darius, j'ai donné cet ordre ; qu'il soit promptement exécuté.
  
  13 Alors Thathnaï, gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve, Shethar-Boznaï, et leurs collègues, firent ainsi promptement, selon l'ordre que le roi Darius avait envoyé.
  
  14 Et les anciens des Juifs bâtirent et prospérèrent par la prophétie d'Aggée, le prophète, et de Zacharie, fils d'Iddo. Et ils bâtirent et achevèrent, selon l'ordre du Dieu d'Israël et selon l'ordre de Cyrus, et de Darius, et d'Artaxerxès, roi de Perse.
  
  15 Et cette maison fut achevée le troisième jour du mois d'Adar : c'était la sixième année du règne du roi Darius.
  
  16 Et les fils d'Israël, les sacrificateurs et les lévites, et le reste des fils de la transportation, célébrèrent la dédicace de cette maison de Dieu avec joie ;
  
  17 et ils offrirent pour la dédicace de cette maison de Dieu, cent taureaux, deux cents béliers, quatre cents agneaux, et, comme sacrifice pour le péché, pour tout Israël, douze boucs, selon le nombre des tribus d'Israël.
  
  18 Et ils établirent les sacrificateurs dans leurs classes, et les lévites dans leurs divisions, pour le service de Dieu à Jérusalem, selon ce qui est écrit au livre de Moïse.
  
  19 Et les fils de la transportation célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois ;
  
  20 car les sacrificateurs et les lévites s'étaient purifiés comme un seul homme : ils étaient tous purs ; et ils égorgèrent la pâque pour tous les fils de la transportation, et pour leurs frères les sacrificateurs, et pour eux-mêmes.
  
  21 Et les fils d'Israël qui étaient de retour de la transportation, en mangèrent, et, avec eux, tous ceux qui s'étaient séparés de l'impureté des nations du pays pour rechercher l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël.
  
  22 Et ils célébrèrent la fête des pains sans levain pendant sept jours, avec joie ; car l'Éternel les avait rendus joyeux, et il avait tourné vers eux le coeur du roi d'Assyrie, pour fortifier leurs mains dans l'oeuvre de la maison de Dieu, du Dieu d'Israël.
  
  Matthieu 6
  
  1 Prenez garde de ne pas faire votre aumône devant les hommes, pour être vus par eux ; autrement vous n'avez pas de récompense auprès de votre Père qui est dans les cieux.
  
  2 Quand donc tu fais l'aumône, ne fais pas sonner la trompette devant toi, comme font les hypocrites dans les synagogues et dans les rues, pour être glorifiés par les hommes. En vérité, je vous dis : ils ont leur récompense !
  
  3 Mais toi, quand tu fais l'aumône, que ta main gauche ne sache pas ce que fait ta droite,
  
  4 en sorte que ton aumône soit faite dans le secret ; et ton Père qui voit dans le secret, te récompensera.
  
  5 Et quand tu pries, tu ne seras pas comme les hypocrites, car ils aiment à prier en se tenant debout dans les synagogues et aux coins des rues, en sorte qu'ils soient vus des hommes. En vérité, je vous dis : ils ont leur récompense !
  
  6 Mais toi, quand tu pries, entre dans ta chambre, et ayant fermé ta porte, prie ton Père qui demeure dans le secret ; et ton Père qui voit dans le secret, te récompensera.
  
  7 Et quand vous priez, n'usez pas de vaines redites, comme ceux des nations, car ils s'imaginent qu'ils seront exaucés en parlant beaucoup.
  
  8 Ne leur ressemblez donc pas, car votre Père sait de quoi vous avez besoin, avant que vous le lui demandiez.
  
  9 Vous donc, priez ainsi : Notre Père qui es dans les cieux, que ton nom soit sanctifié ;
  
  10 que ton règne vienne ; que ta volonté soit faite, comme dans le ciel, aussi sur la terre.
  
  11 Donne-nous aujourd'hui le pain qu'il nous faut ;
  
  12 et remets-nous nos dettes, comme nous aussi nous remettons à nos débiteurs ;
  
  13 et ne nous induis pas en tentation, mais délivre-nous du mal.
  
  14 Car si vous pardonnez aux hommes leurs fautes, votre Père céleste vous pardonnera aussi à vous ;
  
  15 mais si vous ne pardonnez pas aux hommes leurs fautes, votre Père ne pardonnera pas non plus vos fautes.
  
  16 Et quand vous jeûnez, ne prenez pas, comme les hypocrites, un air morne, car ils donnent à leur visage un air défait, en sorte qu'il paraisse aux hommes qu'ils jeûnent. En vérité, je vous dis : ils ont leur récompense !
  
  17 Mais toi, quand tu jeûnes, oins ta tête et lave ton visage,
  
  18 en sorte qu'il ne paraisse pas aux hommes que tu jeûnes, mais à ton Père qui demeure dans le secret ; et ton Père qui voit dans le secret, te récompensera.
  
  19 Ne vous amassez pas des trésors sur la terre, où la teigne et la rouille gâtent, et où les voleurs percent et dérobent ;
  
  20 mais amassez-vous des trésors dans le ciel, où ni la teigne ni la rouille ne gâtent, et où les voleurs ne percent ni ne dérobent ;
  
  21 car là où est ton trésor, là sera aussi ton coeur.
  
  22 La lampe du corps, c'est l'oeil ; si donc ton oeil est simple, ton corps tout entier sera plein de lumière ;
  
  23 mais si ton oeil est méchant, ton corps tout entier sera ténébreux ; si donc la lumière qui est en toi est ténèbres, combien seront grandes les ténèbres !
  
  24 Nul ne peut servir deux maîtres ; car, ou il haïra l'un et aimera l'autre, ou il s'attachera à l'un et méprisera l'autre : vous ne pouvez servir Dieu et Mammon.
  
  25 C'est pourquoi je vous dis : Ne soyez pas en souci pour votre vie, de ce que vous mangerez et de ce que vous boirez, ni pour votre corps, de quoi vous serez vêtus : la vie n'est-elle pas plus que la nourriture, et le corps plus que le vêtement ?
  
  26 Regardez aux oiseaux du ciel : ils ne sèment, ni ne moissonnent, ni n'assemblent dans des greniers, et votre Père céleste les nourrit. Ne valez-vous pas beaucoup mieux qu'eux ?
  
  27 Et qui d'entre vous, par le souci qu'il se donne, peut ajouter une coudée à sa taille ?
  
  28 Et pourquoi êtes-vous en souci du vêtement ? Étudiez les lis des champs, comment ils croissent : ils ne travaillent ni ne filent ;
  
  29 cependant je vous dis que, même Salomon dans toute sa gloire, n'était pas vêtu comme l'un d'eux.
  
  30 Et si Dieu revêt ainsi l'herbe des champs qui est aujourd'hui, et qui demain est jetée dans le four, ne vous vêtira-t-il pas beaucoup plutôt, gens de petite foi ?
  
  31 Ne soyez donc pas en souci, disant : Que mangerons-nous ? ou que boirons-nous ? ou de quoi serons-nous vêtus ?
  
  32 car les nations recherchent toutes ces choses ; car votre Père céleste sait que vous avez besoin de toutes ces choses ;
  
  33 mais cherchez premièrement le royaume de Dieu et sa justice, et toutes ces choses vous seront données par-dessus.
  
  34 Ne soyez donc pas en souci pour le lendemain, car le lendemain sera en souci de lui-même : à chaque jour suffit sa peine.
