  1 Yahweh said to Noah, "Come with all of your household into the ship, for I have seen your righteousness before me in this generation.
  
  2 You shall take seven pairs of every clean animal with you, the male and his female. Of the animals that are not clean, take two, the male and his female.
  
  3 Also of the birds of the sky, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive on the surface of all the earth.
  
  4 In seven days, I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Every living thing that I have made, I will destroy from the surface of the ground."
  
  5 Noah did everything that Yahweh commanded him.
  
  6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came on the earth.
  
  7 Noah went into the ship with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives, because of the waters of the flood.
  
  8 Clean animals, animals that are not clean, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground
  
  9 went by pairs to Noah into the ship, male and female, as God commanded Noah.
  
  10 It happened after the seven days, that the waters of the flood came on the earth.
  
  11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep were burst open, and the sky's windows were opened.
  
  12 The rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
  
  13 In the same day Noah, and Shem, Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, entered into the ship;
  
  14 they, and every animal after its kind, all the livestock after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.
  
  15 They went to Noah into the ship, by pairs of all flesh with the breath of life in them.
  
  16 Those who went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him; and Yahweh shut him in.
  
  17 The flood was forty days on the earth. The waters increased, and lifted up the ship, and it was lifted up above the earth.
  
  18 The waters prevailed, and increased greatly on the earth; and the ship floated on the surface of the waters.
  
  19 The waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth. All the high mountains that were under the whole sky were covered.
  
  20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.
  
  21 All flesh died that moved on the earth, including birds, livestock, animals, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man.
  
  22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land, died.
  
  23 Every living thing was destroyed that was on the surface of the ground, including man, livestock, creeping things, and birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ship.
  
  24 The waters prevailed on the earth one hundred fifty days.
  
  Esdras 7
  
  1 Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,
  
  2 the son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahitub,
  
  3 the son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,
  
  4 the son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,
  
  5 the son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest;
  
  6 this Ezra went up from Babylon: and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given; and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of Yahweh his God on him.
  
  7 There went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
  
  8 He came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
  
  9 For on the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon; and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God on him.
  
  10 For Ezra had set his heart to seek the law of Yahweh, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and ordinances.
  
  11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, even the scribe of the words of the commandments of Yahweh, and of his statutes to Israel:
  
  12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect and so forth.
  
  13 I make a decree, that all those of the people of Israel, and their priests and the Levites, in my realm, who are minded of their own free will to go to Jerusalem, go with you.
  
  14 Because you are sent of the king and his seven counselors, to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of your God which is in your hand,
  
  15 and to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,
  
  16 and all the silver and gold that you shall find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem;
  
  17 therefore you shall with all diligence buy with this money bulls, rams, lambs, with their meal offerings and their drink offerings, and shall offer them on the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
  
  18 Whatever shall seem good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, do that after the will of your God.
  
  19 The vessels that are given to you for the service of the house of your God, deliver before the God of Jerusalem.
  
  20 Whatever more shall be needful for the house of your God, which you shall have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.
  
  21 I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers who are beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done with all diligence,
  
  22 to one hundred talents of silver, and to one hundred measures of wheat, and to one hundred baths of wine, and to one hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.
  
  23 Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done exactly for the house of the God of heaven; for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
  
  24 Also we inform you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, the singers, porters, Nethinim, or servants of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll, on them.
  
  25 You, Ezra, after the wisdom of your God who is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people who are beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach him who doesn't know them.
  
  26 Whoever will not do the law of your God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed on him with all diligence, whether it be to death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
  
  27 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of Yahweh which is in Jerusalem;
  
  28 and has extended loving kindness to me before the king, and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty princes. I was strengthened according to the hand of Yahweh my God on me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
  
  Matthieu 7
  
  1 "Don't judge, so that you won't be judged.
  
  2 For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
  
  3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but don't consider the beam that is in your own eye?
  
  4 Or how will you tell your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye;' and behold, the beam is in your own eye?
  
  5 You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye.
  
  6 "Don't give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
  
  7 "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
  
  8 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
  
  9 Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
  
  10 Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?
  
  11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
  
  12 Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
  
  13 "Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.
  
  14 How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it.
  
  15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.
  
  16 By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
  
  17 Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit.
  
  18 A good tree can't produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
  
  19 Every tree that doesn't grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire.
  
  20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
  
  21 Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
  
  22 Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'
  
  23 Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.'
  
  24 "Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
  
  25 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock.
  
  26 Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand.
  
  27 The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."
  
  28 It happened, when Jesus had finished saying these things, that the multitudes were astonished at his teaching,
  
  29 for he taught them with authority, and not like the scribes.

  7 וַיַּֽעֲל֣וּ מִבְּנֵֽי־יִ֠שְׂרָאֵל וּמִן־הַכֹּהֲנִ֨ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֜ם וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֧ים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִ֛ים וְהַנְּתִינִ֖ים אֶל־יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁ֖בַע לְאַרְתַּחְשַׁ֥סְתְּא הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
  
  8 וַיָּבֹ֥א יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֑י הִ֛יא שְׁנַ֥ת הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖ית לַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
  
  9 כִּ֗י בְּאֶחָד֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן ה֣וּא יְסֻ֔ד הַֽמַּעֲלָ֖ה מִבָּבֶ֑ל וּבְאֶחָ֞ד לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֗י בָּ֚א אֶל־יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם כְּיַד־אֱלֹהָ֖יו הַטּוֹבָ֥ה עָלָֽיו׃
  
  10 כִּ֤י עֶזְרָא֙ הֵכִ֣ין לְבָב֔וֹ לִדְר֛וֹשׁ אֶת־תּוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה וְלַעֲשֹׂ֑ת וּלְלַמֵּ֥ד בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל חֹ֥ק וּמִשְׁפָּֽט׃
  
  11 וְזֶ֣ה ׀ פַּרְשֶׁ֣גֶן הַֽנִּשְׁתְּוָ֗ן אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָתַן֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֔סְתְּא לְעֶזְרָ֥א הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הַסֹּפֵ֑ר סֹפֵ֞ר דִּבְרֵ֧י מִצְוֺת־יְהוָ֛ה וְחֻקָּ֖יו עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
  
  12 אַ֨רְתַּחְשַׁ֔סְתְּא מֶ֖לֶךְ מַלְכַיָּ֑א לְעֶזְרָ֣א כָ֠הֲנָא סָפַ֨ר דָּתָ֜א דִּֽי־אֱלָ֧הּ שְׁמַיָּ֛א גְּמִ֖יר וּכְעֶֽנֶת׃
  
  13 מִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כָל־מִתְנַדַּ֣ב בְּמַלְכוּתִי֩ מִן־עַמָּ֨ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל וְכָהֲנ֣וֹהִי וְלֵוָיֵ֗א לִמְהָ֧ךְ לִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֛ם עִמָּ֖ךְ יְהָֽךְ׃
  
  14 כָּל־קֳבֵ֗ל דִּי֩ מִן־קֳדָ֨ם מַלְכָּ֜א וְשִׁבְעַ֤ת יָעֲטֹ֙הִי֙ שְׁלִ֔יחַ לְבַקָּרָ֥א עַל־יְה֖וּד וְלִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֑ם בְּדָ֥ת אֱלָהָ֖ךְ דִּ֥י בִידָֽךְ׃
  
  15 וּלְהֵיבָלָ֖ה כְּסַ֣ף וּדְהַ֑ב דִּֽי־מַלְכָּ֣א וְיָעֲט֗וֹהִי הִתְנַדַּ֙בוּ֙ לֶאֱלָ֣הּ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל דִּ֥י בִֽירוּשְׁלֶ֖ם מִשְׁכְּנֵֽהּ׃

  17 כָּל־קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָה֩ אָסְפַּ֨רְנָא תִקְנֵ֜א בְּכַסְפָּ֣א דְנָ֗ה תּוֹרִ֤ין ׀ דִּכְרִין֙ אִמְּרִ֔ין וּמִנְחָתְה֖וֹן וְנִסְכֵּיה֑וֹן וּתְקָרֵ֣ב הִמּ֔וֹ עַֽל־מַדְבְּחָ֔ה דִּ֛י בֵּ֥ית אֱלָהֲכֹ֖ם דִּ֥י בִירוּשְׁלֶֽם׃
  
  18 וּמָ֣ה דִי֩ *עליך **עֲלָ֨ךְ וְעַל־*אחיך **אֶחָ֜ךְ יֵיטַ֗ב בִּשְׁאָ֛ר כַּסְפָּ֥א וְדַהֲבָ֖ה לְמֶעְבַּ֑ד כִּרְע֥וּת אֱלָהֲכֹ֖ם תַּעַבְדֽוּן׃
  
  19 וּמָֽאנַיָּא֙ דִּֽי־מִתְיַהֲבִ֣ין לָ֔ךְ לְפָלְחָ֖ן בֵּ֣ית אֱלָהָ֑ךְ הַשְׁלֵ֕ם קֳדָ֖ם אֱלָ֥הּ יְרוּשְׁלֶֽם׃
  
  20 וּשְׁאָ֗ר חַשְׁחוּת֙ בֵּ֣ית אֱלָהָ֔ךְ דִּ֥י יִפֶּל־לָ֖ךְ לְמִנְתַּ֑ן תִּנְתֵּ֕ן מִן־בֵּ֖ית גִּנְזֵ֥י מַלְכָּֽא׃
  
  21 וּ֠מִנִּי אֲנָ֞ה אַרְתַּחְשַׁ֤סְתְּא מַלְכָּא֙ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵ֔ם לְכֹל֙ גִּזַּֽבְרַיָּ֔א דִּ֖י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֑ה דִּ֣י כָל־דִּ֣י יִ֠שְׁאֲלֶנְכוֹן עֶזְרָ֨א כָהֲנָ֜ה סָפַ֤ר דָּתָא֙ דִּֽי־אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔א אָסְפַּ֖רְנָא יִתְעֲבִֽד׃
  
  22 עַד־כְּסַף֮ כַּכְּרִ֣ין מְאָה֒ וְעַד־חִנְטִין֙ כֹּרִ֣ין מְאָ֔ה וְעַד־חֲמַר֙ בַּתִּ֣ין מְאָ֔ה וְעַד־בַּתִּ֥ין מְשַׁ֖ח מְאָ֑ה וּמְלַ֖ח דִּי־לָ֥א כְתָֽב׃
  
  23 כָּל־דִּ֗י מִן־טַ֙עַם֙ אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔א יִתְעֲבֵד֙ אַדְרַזְדָּ֔א לְבֵ֖ית אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֑א דִּֽי־לְמָ֤ה לֶֽהֱוֵא֙ קְצַ֔ף עַל־מַלְכ֥וּת מַלְכָּ֖א וּבְנֽוֹהִי׃
  
  24 וּלְכֹ֣ם מְהוֹדְעִ֗ין דִּ֣י כָל־כָּהֲנַיָּ֣א וְ֠לֵוָיֵא זַמָּ֨רַיָּ֤א תָרָֽעַיָּא֙ נְתִ֣ינַיָּ֔א וּפָ֣לְחֵ֔י בֵּ֖ית אֱלָהָ֣א דְנָ֑ה מִנְדָּ֤ה בְלוֹ֙ וַהֲלָ֔ךְ לָ֥א שַׁלִּ֖יט לְמִרְמֵ֥א עֲלֵיהֹֽם׃
  
  25 וְאַ֣נְתְּ עֶזְרָ֗א כְּחָכְמַ֨ת אֱלָהָ֤ךְ דִּֽי־בִידָךְ֙ מֶ֣נִּי שָׁפְטִ֞ין וְדַיָּנִ֗ין דִּי־לֶהֱוֺ֤ן *דאנין **דָּאיְנִין֙ לְכָל־עַמָּה֙ דִּ֚י בַּעֲבַ֣ר נַהֲרָ֔ה לְכָל־יָדְעֵ֖י דָּתֵ֣י אֱלָהָ֑ךְ וְדִ֧י לָ֦א יָדַ֖ע תְּהוֹדְעֽוּן׃
  
  26 וְכָל־דִּי־לָא֩ לֶהֱוֵ֨א עָבֵ֜ד דָּתָ֣א דִֽי־אֱלָהָ֗ךְ וְדָתָא֙ דִּ֣י מַלְכָּ֔א אָסְפַּ֕רְנָא דִּינָ֕ה לֶהֱוֵ֥א מִתְעֲבֵ֖ד מִנֵּ֑הּ הֵ֤ן לְמוֹת֙ הֵ֣ן *לשרשו **לִשְׁרֹשִׁ֔י הֵן־לַעֲנָ֥שׁ נִכְסִ֖ין וְלֶאֱסוּרִֽין׃
  
  27 בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֣י אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֤ן כָּזֹאת֙ בְּלֵ֣ב הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לְפָאֵ֕ר אֶת־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
  
  28 וְעָלַ֣י הִטָּה־חֶ֗סֶד לִפְנֵ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְיֽוֹעֲצָ֔יו וּלְכָל־שָׂרֵ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַגִּבֹּרִ֑ים וַאֲנִ֣י הִתְחַזַּ֗קְתִּי כְּיַד־יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהַי֙ עָלַ֔י וָאֶקְבְּצָ֧ה מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֛ל רָאשִׁ֖ים לַעֲל֥וֹת עִמִּֽי׃

  1 Μὴ κρίνετε, ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε·
  
  2 ἐν ᾧ γὰρ κρίματι κρίνετε κριθήσεσθε, καὶ ἐν ᾧ μέτρῳ μετρεῖτε μετρηθήσεται ὑμῖν.
  
  3 τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου, τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς;
  
  4 ἢ πῶς ἐρεῖς τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου· Ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σου, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ δοκὸς ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ σοῦ;
  
  5 ὑποκριτά, ἔκβαλε πρῶτον ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σοῦ τὴν δοκόν, καὶ τότε διαβλέψεις ἐκβαλεῖν τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου.
  
  6 Μὴ δῶτε τὸ ἅγιον τοῖς κυσίν, μηδὲ βάλητε τοὺς μαργαρίτας ὑμῶν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν χοίρων, μήποτε καταπατήσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῶν καὶ στραφέντες ῥήξωσιν ὑμᾶς.
  
  7 Αἰτεῖτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν· ζητεῖτε, καὶ εὑρήσετε· κρούετε, καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν.
  
  8 πᾶς γὰρ ὁ αἰτῶν λαμβάνει καὶ ὁ ζητῶν εὑρίσκει καὶ τῷ κρούοντι ἀνοιγήσεται.
  
  9 ἢ τίς ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος, ὃν αἰτήσει ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἄρτον — μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;
  
  10 ἢ καὶ ἰχθὺν αἰτήσει — μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;
  
  11 εἰ οὖν ὑμεῖς πονηροὶ ὄντες οἴδατε δόματα ἀγαθὰ διδόναι τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς δώσει ἀγαθὰ τοῖς αἰτοῦσιν αὐτόν.
  
  12 Πάντα οὖν ὅσα ἐὰν θέλητε ἵνα ποιῶσιν ὑμῖν οἱ ἄνθρωποι, οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε αὐτοῖς· οὗτος γάρ ἐστιν ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται.
  
  13 Εἰσέλθατε διὰ τῆς στενῆς πύλης· ὅτι πλατεῖα ἡ πύλη καὶ εὐρύχωρος ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ἀπώλειαν, καὶ πολλοί εἰσιν οἱ εἰσερχόμενοι δι’ αὐτῆς·
  
  14 ὅτι στενὴ ἡ πύλη καὶ τεθλιμμένη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ζωήν, καὶ ὀλίγοι εἰσὶν οἱ εὑρίσκοντες αὐτήν.
  
  15 Προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν, οἵτινες ἔρχονται πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν ἐνδύμασι προβάτων ἔσωθεν δέ εἰσιν λύκοι ἅρπαγες.
  
  16 ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς. μήτι συλλέγουσιν ἀπὸ ἀκανθῶν σταφυλὰς ἢ ἀπὸ τριβόλων σῦκα;
  
  17 οὕτως πᾶν δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖ, τὸ δὲ σαπρὸν δένδρον καρποὺς πονηροὺς ποιεῖ·
  
  18 οὐ δύναται δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς πονηροὺς ποιεῖν, οὐδὲ δένδρον σαπρὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖν.
  
  19 πᾶν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται.
  
  20 ἄρα γε ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς.
  
  21 Οὐ πᾶς ὁ λέγων μοι· Κύριε κύριε εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν, ἀλλ’ ὁ ποιῶν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.
  
  22 πολλοὶ ἐροῦσίν μοι ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ· Κύριε κύριε, οὐ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι ἐπροφητεύσαμεν, καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δαιμόνια ἐξεβάλομεν, καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δυνάμεις πολλὰς ἐποιήσαμεν;
  
  23 καὶ τότε ὁμολογήσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι Οὐδέποτε ἔγνων ὑμᾶς· ἀποχωρεῖτε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν.
  
  24 Πᾶς οὖν ὅστις ἀκούει μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ποιεῖ αὐτούς, ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ φρονίμῳ, ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν.
  
  25 καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέπεσαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ οὐκ ἔπεσεν, τεθεμελίωτο γὰρ ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν.
  
  26 καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἀκούων μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ μὴ ποιῶν αὐτοὺς ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ μωρῷ, ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν ἐπὶ τὴν ἄμμον.
  
  27 καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέκοψαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ ἔπεσεν, καὶ ἦν ἡ πτῶσις αὐτῆς μεγάλη.
  
  28 Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς λόγους τούτους, ἐξεπλήσσοντο οἱ ὄχλοι ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ·
  
  29 ἦν γὰρ διδάσκων αὐτοὺς ὡς ἐξουσίαν ἔχων καὶ οὐχ ὡς οἱ γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν.

  1 Et l'Éternel dit à Noé : Entre dans l'arche, toi et toute ta maison, car je t'ai vu juste devant moi en cette génération.
  
  2 De toutes les bêtes pures tu prendras sept par sept le mâle et sa femelle, et des bêtes qui ne sont pas pures, deux, le mâle et sa femelle ;
  
  3 de même des oiseaux des cieux, sept par sept, mâle et femelle, pour conserver en vie une semence sur la face de toute la terre.
  
  4 Car encore sept jours, et je fais pleuvoir sur la terre pendant quarante jours et quarante nuits, et j'exterminerai de dessus la face de la terre tout ce qui existe et que j'ai fait.
  
  5 Et Noé fit selon tout ce que l'Éternel lui avait commandé.
  
  6 Et Noé était âgé de six cents ans quand le déluge eut lieu et qu'il vint des eaux sur la terre.
  
  7 Et Noé entra dans l'arche, et ses fils et sa femme et les femmes de ses fils avec lui, à cause des eaux du déluge.
  
  8 Des bêtes pures, et des bêtes qui ne sont pas pures, et des oiseaux et de tout ce qui rampe sur le sol,
  
  9 il en entra deux par deux vers Noé dans l'arche, mâle et femelle comme Dieu l'avait commandé à Noé.
  
  10 Et il arriva, au bout de sept jours, que les eaux du déluge furent sur la terre.
  
  11 L'an six cent de la vie de Noé, au second mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, en ce jour-là, toutes les fontaines du grand abîme se rompirent et les écluses des cieux s'ouvrirent ;
  
  12 et la pluie fut sur la terre quarante jours et quarante nuits.
  
  13 En ce même jour-là, Noé, et Sem et Cham et Japheth, fils de Noé, et la femme de Noé, et les trois femmes de ses fils avec eux entrèrent dans l'arche,
  
  14 eux, et tous les animaux selon leur espèce, et tout le bétail selon son espèce, et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre selon leur espèce, et tous les oiseaux selon leur espèce, tout oiseau de toute aile ;
  
  15 et ils entrèrent vers Noé dans l'arche, deux par deux, de toute chair ayant en elle esprit de vie.
  
  16 Et ce qui entra, entra mâle et femelle, de toute chair, comme Dieu le lui avait commandé. Et l'Éternel ferma l'arche sur lui.
  
  17 Et le déluge fut sur la terre quarante jours ; et les eaux crûrent et soulevèrent l'arche, et elle fut élevée au-dessus de la terre.
  
  18 Et les eaux se renforcèrent et crûrent beaucoup sur la terre ; et l'arche flottait sur la face des eaux.
  
  19 Et les eaux se renforcèrent extraordinairement sur la terre ; et toutes les hautes montagnes qui étaient sous tous les cieux furent couvertes.
  
  20 Les eaux se renforcèrent de quinze coudées par-dessus, et les montagnes furent couvertes.
  
  21 Et toute chair qui se mouvait sur la terre expira, tant les oiseaux que le bétail et les bêtes des champs et tout ce qui fourmille sur la terre, et tout homme.
  
  22 Tout ce qui avait le souffle de vie dans ses narines, de tout ce qui était sur la terre sèche, mourut.
  
  23 Et tout ce qui existait sur la face de la terre fut détruit, depuis l'homme jusqu'au bétail, jusqu'aux reptiles et jusqu'aux oiseaux des cieux : ils furent détruits de dessus la terre ; et il ne resta que Noé et ce qui était avec lui dans l'arche.
  
  24 Et les eaux se renforcèrent sur la terre, cent cinquante jours.
  
  Esdras 7
  
  1 Et après ces choses, sous le règne d'Artaxerxès, roi de Perse, Esdras, fils de Seraïa, fils d'Azaria, fils de Hilkija,
  
  2 fils de Shallum, fils de Tsadok, fils d'Akhitub,
  
  3 fils d'Amaria, fils d'Azaria, fils de Meraïoth,
  
  4 fils de Zerakhia, fils d'Uzzi, fils de Bukki,
  
  5 fils d'Abishua, fils de Phinées, fils d'Éléazar, fils d'Aaron, le chef des sacrificateurs,
  
  6 -cet Esdras monta de Babylone : il était un scribe versé dans la loi de Moïse qu'avait donnée l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. Et le roi lui accorda toute sa requête, selon que la main de l'Éternel, son Dieu, était sur lui.
  
  7 (Et un certain nombre des fils d'Israël, et des sacrificateurs, et des lévites, et des chantres, et des portiers, et des Nethiniens, montèrent à Jérusalem, la septième année du roi Artaxerxès.)
  
  8 Et il arriva à Jérusalem, le cinquième mois ; c'était la septième année du roi.
  
  9 Car le premier jour du premier mois le projet de partir de Babylone fut arrêté ; et le premier jour du cinquième mois il arriva à Jérusalem, selon que la bonne main de son Dieu était sur lui.
  
  10 Car Esdras avait disposé son coeur à rechercher la loi de l'Éternel, et à la faire, et à enseigner en Israël les statuts et les ordonnances.
  
  11 Et c'est ici la copie de la lettre que le roi Artaxerxès donna à Esdras le sacrificateur, le scribe, scribe des paroles des commandements de l'Éternel et de ses statuts donnés à Israël :
  
  12 Artaxerxès, roi des rois, à Esdras, sacrificateur, scribe accompli de la loi du Dieu des cieux, etc.
  
  13 De par moi ordre est donné que tous ceux du peuple d'Israël et de ses sacrificateurs et des lévites, qui, dans mon royaume, sont disposés à aller à Jérusalem avec toi, y aillent ;
  
  14 puisque tu es envoyé par le roi et ses sept conseillers pour t'enquérir au sujet de Juda et de Jérusalem, selon la loi de ton Dieu, qui est dans ta main,
  
  15 et pour porter l'argent et l'or que le roi et ses conseillers ont librement offert au Dieu d'Israël, dont la demeure est à Jérusalem,
  
  16 ainsi que tout l'argent et l'or que tu trouveras dans toute la province de Babylone, avec l'offrande volontaire du peuple et des sacrificateurs qui offrent volontairement pour la maison de leur Dieu qui est à Jérusalem ;
  
  17 tu achèteras donc promptement, avec cet argent, des boeufs, des béliers, des agneaux, et leurs offrandes de gâteaux et leurs libations, et tu les offriras sur l'autel de la maison de votre Dieu, qui est à Jérusalem.
  
  18 Et ce qu'il vous paraîtra bon à toi et à tes frères de faire avec le reste de l'argent et de l'or, faites-le selon la volonté de votre Dieu.
  
  19 Et les ustensiles qui te sont donnés pour le service de la maison de ton Dieu, remets-les devant le Dieu de Jérusalem.
  
  20 Et le reste des choses nécessaires pour la maison de ton Dieu que tu pourras avoir à donner, tu les donneras de la maison des trésors du roi.
  
  21 Et de par moi, moi Artaxerxès, le roi, ordre est donné à tous les trésoriers de l'autre côté du fleuve, de faire promptement tout ce qu'Esdras, sacrificateur, scribe de la loi du Dieu des cieux, vous demandera,
  
  22 jusqu'à cent talents d'argent, et jusqu'à cent cors de froment, et jusqu'à cent baths de vin, et jusqu'à cent baths d'huile, et du sel, sans prescription de quantité :
  
  23 que tout ce qui est ordonné par le Dieu des cieux soit fait exactement pour la maison du Dieu des cieux ; car pourquoi y aurait-il colère contre le royaume du roi et de ses fils ?
  
  24 Et nous vous faisons savoir que sur tous les sacrificateurs et les lévites, chantres, portiers, Nethiniens, et serviteurs de cette maison de Dieu, il ne peut être levé aucun tribut, ni impôt, ni péage.
  
  25 Et toi, Esdras, selon la sagesse de ton Dieu, laquelle est en ta main, établis des magistrats et des juges qui jugeront tout le peuple de l'autre côté du fleuve, tous ceux qui connaissent les lois de ton Dieu ; et à celui qui ne les connaît pas, faites-les connaître ;
  
  26 et quiconque ne pratique pas la loi de ton Dieu et la loi du roi, qu'il en soit fait justice promptement, ou par la mort, ou par l'exil, ou par la confiscation de ses biens, ou par l'emprisonnement.
  
  27 Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu de nos pères, qui a mis de telles pensées dans le coeur du roi, d'orner la maison de l'Éternel qui est à Jérusalem,
  
  28 et qui a étendu sur moi sa bonté devant le roi, et ses conseillers, et tous les puissants princes du roi ! Et moi, je fus fortifié selon que la main de l'Éternel, mon Dieu, était sur moi, et je rassemblai d'Israël des chefs pour monter avec moi.

  1 Ne jugez pas, afin que vous ne soyez pas jugés :
  
  2 car, du jugement dont vous jugerez, vous serez jugés ; et de la mesure dont vous mesurerez, il vous sera mesuré.
  
  3 Et pourquoi regardes-tu le fétu qui est dans l'oeil de ton frère, et tu ne t'aperçois pas de la poutre qui est dans ton oeil ?
  
  4 Ou comment dis-tu à ton frère : Permets, j'ôterai le fétu de ton oeil ; et voici, la poutre est dans ton oeil ?
  
  5 Hypocrite, ôte premièrement de ton oeil la poutre, et alors tu verras clair pour ôter le fétu de l'oeil de ton frère.
  
  6 Ne donnez pas ce qui est saint aux chiens, ni ne jetez vos perles devant les pourceaux, de peur qu'ils ne les foulent à leurs pieds, et que, se retournant, ils ne vous déchirent.
  
  7 Demandez, et il vous sera donné ; cherchez, et vous trouverez ; heurtez, et il vous sera ouvert ;
  
  8 car quiconque demande, reçoit ; et celui qui cherche, trouve ; et à celui qui heurte, il sera ouvert.
  
  9 Ou quel est l'homme d'entre vous, qui, si son fils lui demande un pain, lui donne une pierre,
  
  10 et s'il demande un poisson, lui donne un serpent ?
  
  11 Si donc vous, qui êtes méchants, vous savez donner à vos enfants des choses bonnes, combien plus votre Père qui est dans les cieux donnera-t-il de bonnes choses à ceux qui les lui demandent !
  
  12 Toutes les choses donc que vous voulez que les hommes vous fassent, faites-les-leur, vous aussi, de même ; car c'est là la loi et les prophètes.
  
  13 Entrez par la porte étroite ; car large est la porte, et spacieux le chemin qui mène à la perdition, et nombreux sont ceux qui entrent par elle ;
  
  14 car étroite est la porte, et resserré le chemin qui mène à la vie, et peu nombreux sont ceux qui le trouvent.
  
  15 Or soyez en garde contre les faux prophètes qui viennent à vous en habits de brebis, mais qui au dedans sont des loups ravisseurs.
  
  16 Vous les reconnaîtrez à leurs fruits. Cueille-t-on du raisin sur des épines, ou des figues sur des chardons ?
  
  17 Ainsi tout bon arbre produit de bons fruits, mais l'arbre mauvais produit de mauvais fruits.
  
  18 Un bon arbre ne peut pas produire de mauvais fruits, ni un arbre mauvais produire de bons fruits.
  
  19 Tout arbre qui ne produit pas de bon fruit est coupé et jeté au feu.
  
  20 Ainsi vous les reconnaîtrez à leurs fruits.
  
  21 Ce ne sont pas tous ceux qui me disent : Seigneur, Seigneur, qui entreront dans le royaume des cieux ; mais celui qui fait la volonté de mon Père qui est dans les cieux.
  
  22 Plusieurs me diront en ce jour-là : Seigneur, Seigneur, n'avons-nous pas prophétisé en ton nom, et n'avons-nous pas chassé des démons en ton nom, et n'avons-nous pas fait beaucoup de miracles en ton nom ?
  
  23 Et alors je leur déclarerai : Je ne vous ai jamais connus ; retirez-vous de moi, vous qui pratiquez l'iniquité.
  
  24 Quiconque donc entend ces miennes paroles et les met en pratique, je le comparerai à un homme prudent qui a bâti sa maison sur le roc ;
  
  25 et la pluie est tombée, et les torrents sont venus, et les vents ont soufflé et ont donné contre cette maison ; et elle n'est pas tombée, car elle avait été fondée sur le roc.
  
  26 Et quiconque entend ces miennes paroles, et ne les met pas en pratique, sera comparé à un homme insensé qui a bâti sa maison sur le sable ;
  
  27 et la pluie est tombée, et les torrents sont venus, et les vents ont soufflé et ont battu cette maison, et elle est tombée, et sa chute a été grande.
  
  28 Et il arriva que, quand Jésus eut achevé ces discours, les foules s'étonnaient de sa doctrine ;
  
  29 car il les enseignait comme ayant autorité, et non pas comme leurs scribes.
