- Genèse 8
  
  1 God remembered Noah, all the animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ship; and God made a wind to pass over the earth. The waters subsided.
  
  2 The deep's fountains and the sky's windows were also stopped, and the rain from the sky was restrained.
  
  3 The waters receded from the earth continually. After the end of one hundred fifty days the waters decreased.
  
  4 The ship rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on Ararat's mountains.
  
  5 The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
  
  6 It happened at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,
  
  7 and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.
  
  8 He sent out a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,
  
  9 but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him into the ship; for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.
  
  10 He stayed yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.
  
  11 The dove came back to him at evening, and, behold, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.
  
  12 He stayed yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn't return to him any more.
  
  13 It happened in the six hundred first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ship, and looked. He saw that the surface of the ground was dried.
  
  14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.
  
  15 God spoke to Noah, saying,
  
  16 "Go out of the ship, you, and your wife, and your sons, and your sons' wives with you.
  
  17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh, including birds, livestock, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply on the earth."
  
  18 Noah went out, with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives with him.
  
  19 Every animal, every creeping thing, and every bird, whatever moves on the earth, after their families, went out of the ship.
  
  20 Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
  
  21 Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart, "I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake, because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again strike everything living, as I have done.
  
  22 While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

  1 Now these are the heads of their fathers' households, and this is the genealogy of those who went up with me from Babylon, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king:
  
  2 Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom. Of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel. Of the sons of David, Hattush.
  
  3 Of the sons of Shecaniah, of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah; and with him were reckoned by genealogy of the males one hundred fifty.
  
  4 Of the sons of Pahathmoab, Eliehoenai the son of Zerahiah; and with him two hundred males.
  
  5 Of the sons of Shecaniah, the son of Jahaziel; and with him three hundred males.
  
  6 Of the sons of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan; and with him fifty males.
  
  7 Of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah; and with him seventy males.
  
  8 Of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael; and with him eighty males.
  
  9 Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel; and with him two hundred and eighteen males.
  
  10 Of the sons of Shelomith, the son of Josiphiah; and with him one hundred sixty males.
  
  11 Of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai; and with him twenty-eight males.
  
  12 Of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan; and with him one hundred ten males.
  
  13 Of the sons of Adonikam, who were the last; and these are their names: Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah; and with them sixty males.
  
  14 Of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud; and with them seventy males.
  
  15 I gathered them together to the river that runs to Ahava; and there we encamped three days: and I viewed the people, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi.
  
  16 Then sent I for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and for Elnathan, who were teachers.
  
  17 I sent them forth to Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia; and I told them what they should tell Iddo, and his brothers the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.
  
  18 According to the good hand of our God on us they brought us a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel; and Sherebiah, with his sons and his brothers, eighteen;
  
  19 and Hashabiah, and with him Jeshaiah of the sons of Merari, his brothers and their sons, twenty;
  
  20 and of the Nethinim, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim: all of them were mentioned by name.
  
  21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a straight way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
  
  22 For I was ashamed to ask of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken to the king, saying, "The hand of our God is on all those who seek him, for good; but his power and his wrath is against all those who forsake him."
  
  23 So we fasted and begged our God for this: and he was entreated of us.
  
  24 Then I set apart twelve of the chiefs of the priests, even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brothers with them,
  
  25 and weighed to them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, even the offering for the house of our God, which the king, and his counselors, and his princes, and all Israel there present, had offered:
  
  26 I weighed into their hand six hundred fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels one hundred talents; of gold one hundred talents;
  
  27 and twenty bowls of gold, of one thousand darics; and two vessels of fine bright brass, precious as gold.
  
  28 I said to them, "You are holy to Yahweh, and the vessels are holy; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to Yahweh, the God of your fathers.
  
  29 Watch, and keep them, until you weigh them before the chiefs of the priests and the Levites, and the princes of the fathers' households of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the rooms of the house of Yahweh."
  
  30 So the priests and the Levites received the weight of the silver and the gold, and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.
  
  31 Then we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was on us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy and the bandit by the way.
  
  32 We came to Jerusalem, and stayed there three days.
  
  33 On the fourth day the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Uriah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them was Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, the Levite;
  
  34 the whole by number and by weight: and all the weight was written at that time.
  
  35 The children of the captivity, who had come out of exile, offered burnt offerings to the God of Israel, twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve male goats for a sin offering: all this was a burnt offering to Yahweh.
  
  36 They delivered the king's commissions to the king's satraps, and to the governors beyond the River: and they furthered the people and God's house.
  
  Matthieu 8
  
  1 When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
  
  2 Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean."
  
  3 Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
  
  4 Jesus said to him, "See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
  
  5 When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,
  
  6 and saying, "Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented."
  
  7 Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
  
  8 The centurion answered, "Lord, I'm not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
  
  9 For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and tell another, 'Come,' and he comes; and tell my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
  
  10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, "Most certainly I tell you, I haven't found so great a faith, not even in Israel.
  
  11 I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,
  
  12 but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
  
  13 Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed." His servant was healed in that hour.
  
  14 When Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother lying sick with a fever.
  
  15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him.
  
  16 When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;
  
  17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases."
  
  18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.
  
  19 A scribe came, and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."
  
  20 Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."
  
  21 Another of his disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."
  
  22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead."
  
  23 When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.
  
  24 Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.
  
  25 They came to him, and woke him up, saying, "Save us, Lord! We are dying!"
  
  26 He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.
  
  27 The men marveled, saying, "What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
  
  28 When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.
  
  29 Behold, they cried out, saying, "What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?"
  
  30 Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.
  
  31 The demons begged him, saying, "If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs."
  
  32 He said to them, "Go!" They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.
  
  33 Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.
  
  34 Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.

  3 וַיָּשֻׁ֧בוּ הַמַּ֛יִם מֵעַ֥ל הָאָ֖רֶץ הָל֣וֹךְ וָשׁ֑וֹב וַיַּחְסְר֣וּ הַמַּ֔יִם מִקְצֵ֕ה חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים וּמְאַ֖ת יֽוֹם׃

  16 צֵ֖א מִן־הַתֵּבָ֑ה אַתָּ֕ה וְאִשְׁתְּךָ֛ וּבָנֶ֥יךָ וּנְשֵֽׁי־בָנֶ֖יךָ אִתָּֽךְ׃

  19 כָּל־הַֽחַיָּ֗ה כָּל־הָרֶ֙מֶשׂ֙ וְכָל־הָע֔וֹף כֹּ֖ל רוֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל־הָאָ֑רֶץ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם יָצְא֖וּ מִן־הַתֵּבָֽה׃

  17 *ואוצאה **וָאֲצַוֶּ֤ה אוֹתָם֙ עַל־אִדּ֣וֹ הָרֹ֔אשׁ בְּכָסִפְיָ֖א הַמָּק֑וֹם וָאָשִׂימָה֩ בְּפִיהֶ֨ם דְּבָרִ֜ים לְ֠דַבֵּר אֶל־אִדּ֨וֹ אָחִ֤יו *הנתונים **הַנְּתִינִים֙ בְּכָסִפְיָ֣א הַמָּק֔וֹם לְהָֽבִיא־לָ֥נוּ מְשָׁרְתִ֖ים לְבֵ֥ית אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
  
  18 וַיָּבִ֨יאּוּ לָ֜נוּ כְּיַד־אֱלֹהֵ֨ינוּ הַטּוֹבָ֤ה עָלֵ֙ינוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ שֶׂ֔כֶל מִבְּנֵ֣י מַחְלִ֔י בֶּן־לֵוִ֖י בֶּן־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְשֵׁרֵֽבְיָ֛ה וּבָנָ֥יו וְאֶחָ֖יו שְׁמֹנָ֥ה עָשָֽׂר׃
  
  19 וְאֶת־חֲשַׁבְיָ֔ה וְאִתּ֥וֹ יְשַֽׁעְיָ֖ה מִבְּנֵ֣י מְרָרִ֑י אֶחָ֥יו וּבְנֵיהֶ֖ם עֶשְׂרִֽים׃
  
  20 וּמִן־הַנְּתִינִ֗ים שֶׁנָּתַ֨ן דָּוִ֤יד וְהַשָּׂרִים֙ לַעֲבֹדַ֣ת הַלְוִיִּ֔ם נְתִינִ֖ים מָאתַ֣יִם וְעֶשְׂרִ֑ים כֻּלָּ֖ם נִקְּב֥וּ בְשֵׁמֽוֹת׃
  
  21 וָאֶקְרָ֨א שָׁ֥ם צוֹם֙ עַל־הַנָּהָ֣ר אַהֲוָ֔א לְהִתְעַנּ֖וֹת לִפְנֵ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ לְבַקֵּ֤שׁ מִמֶּ֙נּוּ֙ דֶּ֣רֶךְ יְשָׁרָ֔ה לָ֥נוּ וּלְטַפֵּ֖נוּ וּלְכָל־רְכוּשֵֽׁנוּ׃
  
  22 כִּ֣י בֹ֗שְׁתִּי לִשְׁא֤וֹל מִן־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ חַ֣יִל וּפָרָשִׁ֔ים לְעָזְרֵ֥נוּ מֵאוֹיֵ֖ב בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ כִּֽי־אָמַ֨רְנוּ לַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לֵאמֹ֗ר יַד־אֱלֹהֵ֤ינוּ עַל־כָּל־מְבַקְשָׁיו֙ לְטוֹבָ֔ה וְעֻזּ֣וֹ וְאַפּ֔וֹ עַ֖ל כָּל־עֹזְבָֽיו׃
  
  23 וַנָּצ֛וּמָה וַנְּבַקְשָׁ֥ה מֵאֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ עַל־זֹ֑את וַיֵּעָתֵ֖ר לָֽנוּ׃
  
  24 וָאַבְדִּ֛ילָה מִשָּׂרֵ֥י הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים שְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֑ר לְשֵׁרֵֽבְיָ֣ה חֲשַׁבְיָ֔ה וְעִמָּהֶ֥ם מֵאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם עֲשָׂרָֽה׃
  
  25 *ואשקולה **וָאֶשְׁקֳלָ֣ה לָהֶ֔ם אֶת־הַכֶּ֥סֶף וְאֶת־הַזָּהָ֖ב וְאֶת־הַכֵּלִ֑ים תְּרוּמַ֣ת בֵּית־אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ הַהֵרִ֙ימוּ֙ הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְיֹעֲצָ֣יו וְשָׂרָ֔יו וְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הַנִּמְצָאִֽים׃
  
  26 וָאֶשְׁקֲלָ֨ה עַל־יָדָ֜ם כֶּ֗סֶף כִּכָּרִים֙ שֵֽׁשׁ־מֵא֣וֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁ֔ים וּכְלֵי־כֶ֥סֶף מֵאָ֖ה לְכִכָּרִ֑ים זָהָ֖ב מֵאָ֥ה כִכָּֽר׃
  
  27 וּכְפֹרֵ֤י זָהָב֙ עֶשְׂרִ֔ים לַאֲדַרְכֹנִ֖ים אָ֑לֶף וּכְלֵ֨י נְחֹ֜שֶׁת מֻצְהָ֤ב טוֹבָה֙ שְׁנַ֔יִם חֲמוּדֹ֖ת כַּזָּהָֽב׃
  
  28 וָאֹמְרָ֣ה אֲלֵהֶ֗ם אַתֶּ֥ם קֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ לַיהוָ֔ה וְהַכֵּלִ֖ים קֹ֑דֶשׁ וְהַכֶּ֤סֶף וְהַזָּהָב֙ נְדָבָ֔ה לַיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י אֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃
  
  29 שִׁקְד֣וּ וְשִׁמְר֗וּ עַֽד־תִּשְׁקְל֡וּ לִפְנֵי֩ שָׂרֵ֨י הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם וְשָׂרֵֽי־הָאָב֥וֹת לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם הַלִּשְׁכ֖וֹת בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃
  
  30 וְקִבְּלוּ֙ הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֔ם מִשְׁקַ֛ל הַכֶּ֥סֶף וְהַזָּהָ֖ב וְהַכֵּלִ֑ים לְהָבִ֥יא לִירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם לְבֵ֥ית אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
  
  31 וַֽנִּסְעָ֞ה מִנְּהַ֣ר אַֽהֲוָ֗א בִּשְׁנֵ֤ים עָשָׂר֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן לָלֶ֖כֶת יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְיַד־אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ הָיְתָ֣ה עָלֵ֔ינוּ וַיַּ֨צִּילֵ֔נוּ מִכַּ֥ף אוֹיֵ֛ב וְאוֹרֵ֖ב עַל־הַדָּֽרֶךְ׃

  1 Καταβάντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί.
  
  2 καὶ ἰδοὺ λεπρὸς προσελθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.
  
  3 καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ λέγων· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι· καὶ εὐθέως ἐκαθαρίσθη αὐτοῦ ἡ λέπρα.
  
  4 καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Ὅρα μηδενὶ εἴπῃς, ἀλλὰ ὕπαγε σεαυτὸν δεῖξον τῷ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκον τὸ δῶρον ὃ προσέταξεν Μωϋσῆς εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.
  
  5 Εἰσελθόντος δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἑκατόνταρχος παρακαλῶν αὐτὸν
  
  6 καὶ λέγων· Κύριε, ὁ παῖς μου βέβληται ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ παραλυτικός, δεινῶς βασανιζόμενος.
  
  7 καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἐγὼ ἐλθὼν θεραπεύσω αὐτόν.
  
  8 καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ ἑκατόνταρχος ἔφη· Κύριε, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἱκανὸς ἵνα μου ὑπὸ τὴν στέγην εἰσέλθῃς· ἀλλὰ μόνον εἰπὲ λόγῳ, καὶ ἰαθήσεται ὁ παῖς μου·
  
  9 καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἄνθρωπός εἰμι ὑπὸ ἐξουσίαν, ἔχων ὑπ’ ἐμαυτὸν στρατιώτας, καὶ λέγω τούτῳ· Πορεύθητι, καὶ πορεύεται, καὶ ἄλλῳ· Ἔρχου, καὶ ἔρχεται, καὶ τῷ δούλῳ μου· Ποίησον τοῦτο, καὶ ποιεῖ.
  
  10 ἀκούσας δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐθαύμασεν καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς ἀκολουθοῦσιν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, παρ’ οὐδενὶ τοσαύτην πίστιν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ εὗρον.
  
  11 λέγω δὲ ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν καὶ δυσμῶν ἥξουσιν καὶ ἀνακλιθήσονται μετὰ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν·
  
  12 οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας ἐκβληθήσονται εἰς τὸ σκότος τὸ ἐξώτερον· ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων.
  
  13 καὶ εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τῷ ἑκατοντάρχῃ· Ὕπαγε, ὡς ἐπίστευσας γενηθήτω σοι· καὶ ἰάθη ὁ παῖς ἐν τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐκείνῃ.
  
  14 Καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν Πέτρου εἶδεν τὴν πενθερὰν αὐτοῦ βεβλημένην καὶ πυρέσσουσαν·
  
  15 καὶ ἥψατο τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀφῆκεν αὐτὴν ὁ πυρετός, καὶ ἠγέρθη καὶ διηκόνει αὐτῷ.
  
  16 Ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ δαιμονιζομένους πολλούς· καὶ ἐξέβαλεν τὰ πνεύματα λόγῳ, καὶ πάντας τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας ἐθεράπευσεν·
  
  17 ὅπως πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· Αὐτὸς τὰς ἀσθενείας ἡμῶν ἔλαβεν καὶ τὰς νόσους ἐβάστασεν.
  
  18 Ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πολλοὺς ὄχλους περὶ αὐτὸν ἐκέλευσεν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς τὸ πέραν.
  
  19 καὶ προσελθὼν εἷς γραμματεὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Διδάσκαλε, ἀκολουθήσω σοι ὅπου ἐὰν ἀπέρχῃ.
  
  20 καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Αἱ ἀλώπεκες φωλεοὺς ἔχουσιν καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ κατασκηνώσεις, ὁ δὲ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἔχει ποῦ τὴν κεφαλὴν κλίνῃ.
  
  21 ἕτερος δὲ τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἐπίτρεψόν μοι πρῶτον ἀπελθεῖν καὶ θάψαι τὸν πατέρα μου.
  
  22 ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι, καὶ ἄφες τοὺς νεκροὺς θάψαι τοὺς ἑαυτῶν νεκρούς.
  
  23 Καὶ ἐμβάντι αὐτῷ εἰς πλοῖον ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.
  
  24 καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς μέγας ἐγένετο ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ, ὥστε τὸ πλοῖον καλύπτεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν κυμάτων, αὐτὸς δὲ ἐκάθευδεν.
  
  25 καὶ προσελθόντες ἤγειραν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Κύριε, σῶσον, ἀπολλύμεθα.
  
  26 καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τί δειλοί ἐστε, ὀλιγόπιστοι; τότε ἐγερθεὶς ἐπετίμησεν τοῖς ἀνέμοις καὶ τῇ θαλάσσῃ, καὶ ἐγένετο γαλήνη μεγάλη.
  
  27 οἱ δὲ ἄνθρωποι ἐθαύμασαν λέγοντες· Ποταπός ἐστιν οὗτος ὅτι καὶ οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ ἡ θάλασσα αὐτῷ ὑπακούουσιν;
  
  28 Καὶ ἐλθόντος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ πέραν εἰς τὴν χώραν τῶν Γαδαρηνῶν ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ δύο δαιμονιζόμενοι ἐκ τῶν μνημείων ἐξερχόμενοι, χαλεποὶ λίαν ὥστε μὴ ἰσχύειν τινὰ παρελθεῖν διὰ τῆς ὁδοῦ ἐκείνης.
  
  29 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· Τί ἡμῖν καὶ σοί, υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ; ἦλθες ὧδε πρὸ καιροῦ βασανίσαι ἡμᾶς;
  
  30 ἦν δὲ μακρὰν ἀπ’ αὐτῶν ἀγέλη χοίρων πολλῶν βοσκομένη.
  
  31 οἱ δὲ δαίμονες παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν λέγοντες· Εἰ ἐκβάλλεις ἡμᾶς, ἀπόστειλον ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν ἀγέλην τῶν χοίρων.
  
  32 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὑπάγετε. οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες ἀπῆλθον εἰς τοὺς χοίρους· καὶ ἰδοὺ ὥρμησεν πᾶσα ἡ ἀγέλη κατὰ τοῦ κρημνοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, καὶ ἀπέθανον ἐν τοῖς ὕδασιν.
  
  33 οἱ δὲ βόσκοντες ἔφυγον, καὶ ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν πάντα καὶ τὰ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων.
  
  34 καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ πόλις ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ὑπάντησιν τῷ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν παρεκάλεσαν ὅπως μεταβῇ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.

  1 Et Dieu se souvint de Noé, et de tous les animaux et de tout le bétail, qui étaient avec lui dans l'arche ; et Dieu fit passer un vent sur la terre, et les eaux baissèrent ;
  
  2 et les fontaines de l'abîme et les écluses des cieux furent fermées, et la pluie qui tombait du ciel fut retenue.
  
  3 Et les eaux se retirèrent de dessus la terre, allant et se retirant ; et les eaux diminuèrent au bout de cent cinquante jours.
  
  4 Et l'arche reposa sur les montagnes d'Ararat, au septième mois, au dix-septième jour du mois.
  
  5 Et les eaux allèrent diminuant jusqu'au dixième mois ; au dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, les sommets des montagnes apparurent.
  
  6 Et il arriva, au bout de quarante jours, que Noé ouvrit la fenêtre de l'arche qu'il avait faite ;
  
  7 et il lâcha le corbeau, qui sortit, allant et revenant jusqu'à ce que les eaux eussent séché de dessus la terre.
  
  8 Et il lâcha d'avec lui la colombe, pour voir si les eaux avaient baissé sur la face du sol ;
  
  9 mais la colombe ne trouva pas où poser la plante de son pied, et revint à lui dans l'arche, car les eaux étaient sur la face de toute la terre ; et il étendit sa main, et la prit, et la fit entrer auprès de lui dans l'arche.
  
  10 Et il attendit encore sept autres jours, et il lâcha de nouveau la colombe hors de l'arche.
  
  11 Et la colombe vint à lui au temps du soir, et voici, dans son bec, une feuille d'olivier arrachée. Et Noé sut que les eaux avaient baissé sur la terre.
  
  12 Et il attendit encore sept autres jours, et il lâcha la colombe, et elle ne revint plus de nouveau vers lui.
  
  13 Et il arriva, l'an six cent un, au premier mois, le premier jour du mois, que les eaux furent séchées de dessus la terre ; et Noé ôta la couverture de l'arche et regarda, et voici, la face du sol avait séché.
  
  14 Et au second mois, le vingt-septième jour du mois, la terre fut sèche.
  
  15 Et Dieu parla à Noé, disant :
  
  16 Sors de l'arche, toi, et ta femme et tes fils et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.
  
  17 Fais sortir avec toi tout animal qui est avec toi, de toute chair, tant oiseaux que bétail, et tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre, et qu'ils foisonnent en la terre, et fructifient et multiplient sur la terre.
  
  18 Et Noé sortit, et ses fils, et sa femme et les femmes de ses fils avec lui.
  
  19 Tout animal, tout reptile et tout oiseau, tout ce qui se meut, sur la terre, selon leurs espèces, sortirent de l'arche.
  
  20 Et Noé bâtit un autel à l'Éternel, et prit de toute bête pure et de tout oiseau pur, et offrit des holocaustes sur l'autel.
  
  21 Et l'Éternel flaira une odeur agréable ; et l'Éternel dit en son coeur : Je ne maudirai plus de nouveau le sol à cause de l'homme, car l'imagination du coeur de l'homme est mauvaise dès sa jeunesse ; et je ne frapperai plus de nouveau tout ce qui est vivant, comme je l'ai fait.
  
  22 Désormais, tant que seront les jours de la terre, les semailles et la moisson, et le froid et le chaud, et l'été et l'hiver, et le jour et la nuit, ne cesseront pas.

  15 Et je les rassemblai vers le fleuve qui s'en va vers Ahava, et nous campâmes là trois jours ; et je considérai le peuple et les sacrificateurs, et je n'y trouvai aucun des fils de Lévi.
  
  16 Alors j'envoyai chercher Éliézer, Ariel, Shemahia, et Elnathan, et Jarib, et Elnathan, et Nathan, et Zacharie, et Meshullam, qui étaient des chefs, et Joïarib, et Elnathan, hommes intelligents ;
  
  17 et je les envoyai à Iddo, qui était chef dans la localité appelée Casiphia, et je mis dans leurs bouches des paroles pour les dire à Iddo et à ses frères, les Nethiniens, dans la localité appelée Casiphia, pour nous amener des serviteurs pour la maison de notre Dieu.
  
  18 Et ils nous amenèrent, selon que la bonne main de notre Dieu était sur nous, un homme intelligent d'entre les fils de Makhli, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël, et Shérébia et ses fils et ses frères, au nombre de dix-huit ;
  
  19 et Hashabia, et avec lui Ésaïe, d'entre les fils de Merari, ses frères et leurs fils, au nombre de vingt ;
  
  20 et des Nethiniens, que David et les princes avaient donnés pour le service des lévites, deux cent vingt Nethiniens, tous désignés par leurs noms.
  
  21 Et là, près du fleuve Ahava, je publiai un jeûne, pour nous humilier devant notre Dieu, pour lui demander le vrai chemin, pour nous et pour nos enfants, et pour tout notre avoir.
  
  22 Car j'avais honte de demander au roi des forces et de la cavalerie pour nous aider en chemin contre l'ennemi ; car nous avions parlé au roi, en disant : La main de notre Dieu est en bien sur tous ceux qui le cherchent ; et sa force et sa colère sont contre tous ceux qui l'abandonnent.
  
  23 Et nous jeûnâmes, et nous demandâmes cela à notre Dieu, et il nous exauça.
  
  24 Et je séparai douze des chefs des sacrificateurs, Shérébia, Hashabia, et dix de leurs frères avec eux,
  
  25 et je leur pesai l'argent et l'or, et les ustensiles, l'offrande pour la maison de notre Dieu, qu'avaient offerte le roi, et ses conseillers, et ses princes, et tout Israël qui se trouvait là.
  
  26 Et je pesai en leurs mains six cent cinquante talents d'argent, et en ustensiles d'argent cent talents, et en or cent talents,
  
  27 et vingt coupes d'or valant mille dariques, et deux vases d'airain d'un beau brillant, précieux comme l'or.
  
  28 Et je leur dis : Vous êtes saints, consacrés à l'Éternel, et les ustensiles sont saints, et l'argent et l'or sont une offrande volontaire à l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères.
  
  29 Veillez, et gardez-les jusqu'à ce que vous les pesiez devant les chefs des sacrificateurs et des lévites, et devant les chefs des pères d'Israël à Jérusalem, dans les chambres de la maison de l'Éternel.
  
  30 Et les sacrificateurs et les lévites reçurent au poids l'argent et l'or, et les ustensiles, pour les porter à Jérusalem, à la maison de notre Dieu.
  
  31 Et nous partîmes du fleuve Ahava le douzième jour du premier mois, pour aller à Jérusalem. Et la main de notre Dieu fut sur nous, et il nous délivra de la main de l'ennemi et de toute embûche sur le chemin.
  
  32 Et nous arrivâmes à Jérusalem, et nous demeurâmes là trois jours.
  
  33 Et le quatrième jour, l'argent et l'or et les ustensiles furent pesés dans la maison de notre Dieu, entre les mains de Merémoth, fils d'Urie, le sacrificateur (et avec lui était Éléazar, fils de Phinées, et avec eux Jozabad, fils de Jéshua, et Noadia, fils de Binnuï, lévites),
  
  34 selon le nombre et selon le poids du tout ; et en même temps tout le poids en fut inscrit.
  
  35 Les fils de la transportation qui étaient revenus de la captivité présentèrent des holocaustes au Dieu d'Israël, douze taureaux pour tout Israël, quatre-vingt-seize béliers, soixante-dix-sept agneaux, douze boucs en sacrifice pour le péché, le tout en holocauste à l'Éternel.
  
  36 Et ils remirent les édits du roi aux satrapes du roi et aux gouverneurs de ce côté du fleuve, et ceux-ci donnèrent leur appui au peuple et à la maison de Dieu.
  
  Matthieu 8
  
  1 Et quand il fut descendu de la montagne, de grandes foules le suivirent.
  
  2 Et voici, un lépreux s'approchant, se prosterna devant lui, disant : Seigneur, si tu veux, tu peux me rendre net.
  
  3 Et Jésus, étendant la main, le toucha, disant : Je veux, sois net. Et aussitôt il fut nettoyé de sa lèpre.
  
  4 Et Jésus lui dit : Prends garde de ne le dire à personne ; mais va, montre-toi au sacrificateur et offre le don que Moïse a ordonné, pour qu'il leur serve de témoignage.
  
  5 Et comme il entrait dans Capernaüm, un centurion vint à lui, le suppliant,
  
  6 et disant : Seigneur, mon serviteur est couché à la maison, atteint de paralysie, horriblement tourmenté.
  
  7 Et Jésus lui dit : J'irai, moi, et je le guérirai.
  
  8 Et le centurion répondit et dit : Seigneur, je ne suis pas digne que tu entres sous mon toit ; mais dis seulement une parole, et mon serviteur sera guéri ;
  
  9 car moi aussi, je suis un homme placé sous l'autorité d'autrui, ayant sous moi des soldats ; et je dis à l'un : Va, et il va ; et à un autre : Viens, et il vient ; et à mon esclave : Fais cela, et il le fait.
  
  10 Et Jésus, l'ayant entendu, s'en étonna, et dit à ceux qui le suivaient : En vérité, je vous dis : je n'ai pas trouvé, même en Israël, une si grande foi.
  
  11 Et je vous dis que plusieurs viendront d'orient et d'occident, et s'assiéront avec Abraham et Isaac et Jacob dans le royaume des cieux ;
  
  12 mais les fils du royaume seront jetés dans les ténèbres de dehors : là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents.
  
  13 Et Jésus dit au centurion : Va, et qu'il te soit fait comme tu as cru ; et à cette heure-là son serviteur fut guéri.
  
  14 Et Jésus, étant venu dans la maison de Pierre, vit la belle-mère de Pierre couchée là et ayant la fièvre :
  
  15 et il lui toucha la main, et la fièvre la quitta ; et elle se leva et le servit.
  
  16 Et le soir étant venu, on lui apporta beaucoup de démoniaques ; et il chassa les esprits par une parole, et guérit tous ceux qui se portaient mal ;
  
  17 en sorte que fût accompli ce qui a été dit par Ésaïe le prophète, disant : "Lui-même a pris nos langueurs, et a porté nos maladies".
  
  18 Or Jésus, voyant de grandes foules autour de lui, commanda de passer à l'autre rive.
  
  19 Et un scribe s'approchant, lui dit : Maître, je te suivrai où que tu ailles.
  
  20 Jésus lui dit : Les renards ont des tanières, et les oiseaux du ciel ont des demeures ; mais le fils de l'homme n'a pas où reposer sa tête.
  
  21 Et un autre de ses disciples lui dit : Seigneur, permets-moi de m'en aller premièrement et d'ensevelir mon père.
  
  22 Mais Jésus lui dit : Suis-moi, et laisse les morts ensevelir leurs morts.
  
  23 Et quand il fut monté dans la nacelle, ses disciples le suivirent ;
  
  24 et voici, une grande tourmente s'éleva sur la mer, en sorte que la nacelle était couverte par les vagues ; mais lui dormait.
  
  25 Et les disciples s'approchèrent et le réveillèrent, disant : Seigneur, sauve-nous ! nous périssons.
  
  26 Et il leur dit : Pourquoi êtes-vous craintifs, gens de petite foi ? Alors, s'étant levé, il reprit les vents et la mer, et se fit un grand calme.
  
  27 Et les gens s'en étonnèrent, disant : Quel est celui-ci, que les vents même et la mer lui obéissent !
  
  28 Et quand il arriva à l'autre rive, dans le pays des Gergéséniens, deux démoniaques, sortant des sépulcres, vinrent à sa rencontre ; et ils étaient très-violents, en sorte que personne ne pouvait passer par ce chemin-là.
  
  29 Et voici, ils s'écrièrent, disant : Qu'y-a-t-il entre nous et toi, Jésus, Fils de Dieu ? Es-tu venu ici avant le temps pour nous tourmenter ?
  
  30 Et il y avait, loin d'eux, un grand troupeau de pourceaux qui paissait.
  
  31 Et les démons le priaient, disant : Si tu nous chasses, permets-nous de nous en aller dans le troupeau des pourceaux.
  
  32 Et il leur dit : Allez. Et eux, sortant, s'en allèrent dans le troupeau des pourceaux ; et voici, tout le troupeau des pourceaux se rua du haut de la côte dans la mer ; et ils moururent dans les eaux.
  
  33 Et ceux qui les paissaient s'enfuirent ; et, s'en étant allés dans la ville, ils racontèrent tout, et ce qui était arrivé aux démoniaques.
  
  34 Et voici, toute la ville sortit au-devant de Jésus ; et l'ayant vu, ils le prièrent de se retirer de leur territoire.
