  1 Et il arriva, le huitième jour, que Moïse appela Aaron et ses fils, et les anciens d'Israël ;
  
  2 et il dit à Aaron : Prends un jeune veau pour le sacrifice pour le péché, et un bélier pour l'holocauste, sans défaut, et présente-les devant l'Éternel.
  
  3 Et tu parleras aux fils d'Israël, en disant : Prenez un bouc pour le sacrifice pour le péché ; et un veau, et un agneau, âgés d'un an, sans défaut, pour l'holocauste ;
  
  4 et un taureau et un bélier pour le sacrifice de prospérités, pour sacrifier devant l'Éternel, et une offrande de gâteau pétri à l'huile, car aujourd'hui l'Éternel vous apparaîtra.
  
  5 Et ils amenèrent devant la tente d'assignation ce que Moïse avait commandé ; et toute l'assemblée s'approcha, et ils se tinrent devant l'Éternel.
  
  6 Et Moïse dit : C'est ici ce que l'Éternel a commandé ; faites-le, et la gloire de l'Éternel vous apparaîtra.
  
  7 Et Moïse dit à Aaron : Approche-toi de l'autel, et offre ton sacrifice pour le péché, et ton holocauste, et fais propitiation pour toi et pour le peuple ; et offre l'offrande du peuple, et fais propitiation pour eux, comme l'Éternel a commandé.
  
  8 Et Aaron s'approcha de l'autel, et égorgea le veau du sacrifice pour le péché, qui était pour lui ;
  
  9 et les fils d'Aaron lui présentèrent le sang, et il trempa son doigt dans le sang, et le mit sur les cornes de l'autel, et versa le sang au pied de l'autel.
  
  10 Et il fit fumer sur l'autel la graisse, et les rognons, et le réseau pris du foie du sacrifice pour le péché, comme l'Éternel l'avait commandé à Moïse.
  
  11 Et la chair et la peau, il les brûla au feu, hors du camp.
  
  12 Et il égorgea l'holocauste, et les fils d'Aaron lui présentèrent le sang, et il en fit aspersion sur l'autel, tout autour.
  
  13 Et ils lui présentèrent l'holocauste coupé en morceaux, et la tête, et il les fit fumer sur l'autel ;
  
  14 et il lava l'intérieur et les jambes, et il les fit fumer sur l'holocauste sur l'autel.
  
  15 -Et il présenta l'offrande du peuple : il prit le bouc du sacrifice pour le péché qui était pour le peuple, et l'égorgea, et l'offrit pour le péché, comme précédemment le veau.
  
  16 Et il présenta l'holocauste, et le fit selon l'ordonnance.
  
  17 Et il présenta l'offrande de gâteau, et il en remplit la paume de sa main et la fit fumer sur l'autel, outre l'holocauste du matin.
  
  18 Et il égorgea le taureau et le bélier du sacrifice de prospérités qui était pour le peuple, et les fils d'Aaron lui présentèrent le sang, et il en fit aspersion sur l'autel, tout autour.
  
  19 Et ils présentèrent les graisses du taureau et du bélier, la queue, et ce qui couvre l'intérieur, et les rognons, et le réseau du foie ;
  
  20 et ils mirent les graisses sur les poitrines, et il fit fumer les graisses sur l'autel.
  
  21 Et Aaron tournoya en offrande tournoyée devant l'Éternel les poitrines et l'épaule droite, comme Moïse l'avait commandé.
  
  22 -Et Aaron éleva ses mains vers le peuple et les bénit ; et il descendit après avoir offert le sacrifice pour le péché, et l'holocauste, et le sacrifice de prospérités.
  
  23 Et Moïse et Aaron entrèrent dans la tente d'assignation ; puis ils sortirent et bénirent le peuple : et la gloire de l'Éternel apparut à tout le peuple ;
  
  24 et le feu sortit de devant l'Éternel, et consuma sur l'autel l'holocauste et les graisses ; et tout le peuple le vit, et ils poussèrent des cris de joie, et tombèrent sur leurs faces.
  
  Psaumes 10
  
  1 Pourquoi, ô Éternel ! te tiens-tu loin, te caches-tu aux temps de la détresse ?
  
  2 Le méchant, dans son orgueil, poursuit ardemment l'affligé ; ils seront pris dans les trames qu'ils ont ourdies.
  
  3 Car le méchant se glorifie du désir de son âme ; et il bénit l'avare, il méprise l'Éternel.
  
  4 Le méchant, dans la fierté de sa face, dit : Il ne s'enquerra de rien. -Il n'y a point de Dieu : voilà toutes ses pensées.
  
  5 Ses voies réussissent en tout temps ; tes jugements sont trop hauts pour être devant lui ; il souffle contre tous ses adversaires.
  
  6 Il dit en son coeur : Je ne serai pas ébranlé ; de génération en génération je ne tomberai pas dans le malheur.
  
  7 Sa bouche est pleine de malédiction, et de tromperies, et d'oppressions ; il n'y a sous sa langue que trouble et que vanité.
  
  8 Il se tient aux embuscades des villages ; dans des lieux cachés, il tue l'innocent ; ses yeux épient le malheureux.
  
  9 Il se tient aux embûches dans un lieu caché, comme un lion dans son fourré ; il se tient aux embûches pour enlever l'affligé ; il enlève l'affligé, quand il l'a attiré dans son filet.
  
  10 Il se tapit, il se baisse, afin que les malheureux tombent par sa force.
  
  11 Il dit en son coeur : Dieu a oublié, il cache sa face, il ne verra pas, à jamais.
  
  12 Éternel ! O Dieu, élève ta main ! n'oublie pas les affligés.
  
  13 Pourquoi le méchant méprise-t-il Dieu ? Il dit en son coeur : Tu ne t'enquerras pas.
  
  14 Tu l'as vu, car toi tu regardes la peine et le chagrin pour les rendre par ta main ; le malheureux s'abandonne à toi, tu es le secours de l'orphelin.
  
  15 Casse le bras du méchant, et recherche l'iniquité du méchant jusqu'à ce que tu n'en trouves plus.
  
  16 L'Éternel est roi à toujours et à perpétuité ; les nations ont péri de dessus sa terre.
  
  17 Éternel ! tu as exaucé le désir des débonnaires, tu as établi leur coeur ; tu as prêté l'oreille,
  
  18 Pour faire droit à l'orphelin et à l'opprimé, afin que l'homme qui est de la terre n'effraye plus.
  
  Proverbes 24
  
  1 N'envie pas les hommes qui font le mal, et ne désire pas d'être avec eux,
  
  2 car leur coeur médite la destruction, et leurs lèvres parlent de tourment.
  
  3 Par la sagesse la maison est bâtie, et elle est établie par l'intelligence ;
  
  4 et par la connaissance les chambres sont remplies de tous les biens précieux et agréables.
  
  5 L'homme sage a de la force, et l'homme de connaissance affermit sa puissance ;
  
  6 car sous une sage direction tu feras ta guerre, et le salut est dans le grand nombre des conseillers.
  
  7 La sagesse est trop haute pour le fou, il n'ouvrira pas sa bouche dans la porte.
  
  8 Celui qui pense à mal faire, on l'appellera intrigant.
  
  9 Le plan de la folie est péché, et le moqueur est en abomination aux hommes.
  
  10 Si tu perds courage au jour de la détresse, ta force est mince.
  
  11 Délivre ceux qui sont menés à la mort, et ne te retire pas de ceux qui chancellent vers une mort violente.
  
  12 Si tu dis : Voici, nous n'en savions rien ; celui qui pèse les coeurs, lui ne le considérera-t-il pas ? et celui qui garde ton âme, lui le sait ; et il rend à l'homme selon son oeuvre.
  
  13 Mon fils, mange du miel, car il est bon ; et un rayon de miel est doux à ton palais.
  
  14 Ainsi connais pour ton âme la sagesse : si tu l'as trouvée, il y a un avenir, et ton attente ne sera point réduite à néant.
  
  15 Méchant, ne mets pas des embûches contre l'habitation du juste, ne dévaste pas son gîte.
  
  16 Car le juste tombe sept fois, et se relève ; mais les méchants trébuchent pour tomber dans le malheur.
  
  17 Si ton ennemi tombe, ne te réjouis pas ; et s'il trébuche, que ton coeur ne s'égaye pas ;
  
  18 de peur que l'Éternel ne le voie, et que cela ne soit mauvais à ses yeux, et qu'il ne détourne de dessus lui sa colère.
  
  19 Ne t'irrite pas à cause de ceux qui font le mal, n'envie pas les méchants ;
  
  20 car il n'y a pas d'avenir pour l'inique : la lampe des méchants s'éteindra.
  
  21 Mon fils, crains l'Éternel et le roi ; ne te mêle pas avec les gens remuants,
  
  22 car leur calamité surgira tout à coup ; et qui sait la ruine des uns et des autres ?
  
  23 Ces choses aussi viennent des sages : Faire acception des personnes dans le jugement n'est pas bien.
  
  24 Celui qui dit au méchant : Tu es juste, les peuples le maudiront, les peuplades seront indignées contre lui ;
  
  25 mais ceux qui le reprennent seront agréables, et une bénédiction de bien viendra sur eux.
  
  26 Celui qui répond des paroles justes baise les lèvres.
  
  27 Prépare ton ouvrage au dehors, et mets en état ton champ, et après, bâtis ta maison.
  
  28 Ne sois pas témoin, sans motif, contre ton prochain ; voudrais-tu donc tromper de tes lèvres ?
  
  29 Ne dis pas : Comme il m'a fait, je lui ferai ; je rendrai à l'homme selon son oeuvre.
  
  30 J'ai passé près du champ de l'homme paresseux et près de la vigne de l'homme dépourvu de sens,
  
  31 et voici, tout y était monté en chardons, les orties en avaient couvert la surface, et sa clôture de pierres était démolie.
  
  32 Et je regardai, j'y appliquai mon coeur ; je vis, et je reçus instruction.
  
  33 Un peu de sommeil, un peu d'assoupissement, un peu croiser les mains pour dormir...,
  
  34 et ta pauvreté viendra comme un voyageur, et ton dénuement comme un homme armé.
- Lévitique 9
  
  1 It happened on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel;
  
  2 and he said to Aaron, "Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before Yahweh.
  
  3 You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt offering;
  
  4 and a bull and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before Yahweh; and a meal offering mixed with oil: for today Yahweh appears to you.'"
  
  5 They brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Yahweh.
  
  6 Moses said, "This is the thing which Yahweh commanded that you should do: and the glory of Yahweh shall appear to you."
  
  7 Moses said to Aaron, "Draw near to the altar, and offer your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself, and for the people; and offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them; as Yahweh commanded."
  
  8 So Aaron drew near to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.
  
  9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar:
  
  10 but the fat, and the kidneys, and the cover from the liver of the sin offering, he burned upon the altar; as Yahweh commanded Moses.
  
  11 The flesh and the skin he burned with fire outside the camp.
  
  12 He killed the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it around on the altar.
  
  13 They delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burned them upon the altar.
  
  14 He washed the innards and the legs, and burned them on the burnt offering on the altar.
  
  15 He presented the people's offering, and took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, like the first.
  
  16 He presented the burnt offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.
  
  17 He presented the meal offering, and filled his hand from there, and burned it upon the altar, besides the burnt offering of the morning.
  
  18 He also killed the bull and the ram, the sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons delivered to him the blood, which he sprinkled around on the altar,
  
  19 and the fat of the bull and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covers the innards, and the kidneys, and the cover of the liver:
  
  20 and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burned the fat on the altar:
  
  21 and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before Yahweh, as Moses commanded.
  
  22 Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings.
  
  23 Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Yahweh appeared to all the people.
  
  24 There came forth fire from before Yahweh, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
  
  Psaumes 10
  
  1 Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
  
  2 In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.
  
  3 For the wicked boasts of his heart's cravings. He blesses the greedy, and condemns Yahweh.
  
  4 The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God.
  
  5 His ways are prosperous at all times. He is haughty, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
  
  6 He says in his heart, "I shall not be shaken. For generations I shall have no trouble."
  
  7 His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
  
  8 He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.
  
  9 He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net.
  
  10 The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.
  
  11 He says in his heart, "God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it."
  
  12 Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don't forget the helpless.
  
  13 Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, "God won't call me into account?"
  
  14 But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.
  
  15 Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.
  
  16 Yahweh is King forever and ever! The nations will perish out of his land.
  
  17 Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,
  
  18 to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.
  
  Proverbes 24
  
  1 Don't be envious of evil men; neither desire to be with them:
  
  2 for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about mischief.
  
  3 Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
  
  4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
  
  5 A wise man has great power; and a knowledgeable man increases strength;
  
  6 for by wise guidance you wage your war; and victory is in many advisors.
  
  7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he doesn't open his mouth in the gate.
  
  8 One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
  
  9 The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
  
  10 If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
  
  11 Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
  
  12 If you say, "Behold, we didn't know this"; doesn't he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn't he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?
  
  13 My son, eat honey, for it is good; the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste:
  
  14 so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul; if you have found it, then there will be a reward, your hope will not be cut off.
  
  15 Don't lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don't destroy his resting place:
  
  16 for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
  
  17 Don't rejoice when your enemy falls. Don't let your heart be glad when he is overthrown;
  
  18 lest Yahweh see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
  
  19 Don't fret yourself because of evildoers; neither be envious of the wicked:
  
  20 for there will be no reward to the evil man; and the lamp of the wicked shall be snuffed out.
  
  21 My son, fear Yahweh and the king. Don't join those who are rebellious:
  
  22 for their calamity will rise suddenly; the destruction from them both--who knows?
  
  23 These also are sayings of the wise. To show partiality in judgment is not good.
  
  24 He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous"; peoples shall curse him, and nations shall abhor him--
  
  25 but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
  
  26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
  
  27 Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
  
  28 Don't be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Don't deceive with your lips.
  
  29 Don't say, "I will do to him as he has done to me; I will render to the man according to his work."
  
  30 I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
  
  31 Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
  
  32 Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
  
  33 a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep;
  
  34 so your poverty will come as a robber, and your want as an armed man.
