  1 Or ce sont ici les enfants de David, qui lui naquirent à Hébron. Le premier-né fut Amnon, fils d'Ahinoham de Jizréhel ; le second Daniel, d'Abigaïl du mont Carmel.
  
  2 Le troisième Absalom fils de Mahaca, fille de Talmaï Roi de Guésur ; le quatrième Adonija, fils de Hagguith ;
  
  3 Le cinquième Sephatia, d'Abital ; le sixième Jithréham, d'Hégla sa femme.
  
  4 Ces six lui naquirent à Hébron, où il régna sept ans et six mois ; puis il régna trente-trois ans à Jérusalem.

  18 Dont les fils furent Malkiram, Pédaja, Senatsar, Jékamia, Hosamah, et Nédabia.
  
  19 Et les enfants de Pédaja furent Zorobabel, et Simhi ; et les enfants de Zorobabel furent Mésullam, Hanania, et Sélomith leur soeur.
  
  20 Et de [Mésullam] Hasuba, Ohel, Bérécia, Hasadia, et Jusab-hesed, [en tout] cinq.
  
  21 Et les enfants de Hanania furent Pelatia, et Esaïe. Les enfants de Réphaja, les enfants d'Arnan, les enfants de Hobadia, [et] les enfants de Sécania.

  1 Les enfants de Juda furent Pharez, Hetsron, Carmi, Hur, et Sobal.
  
  2 Et Reaja fils de Sobal engendra Jahath, et Jahath engendra Ahumaï, et Ladad. Ce sont là les familles des Tsorhathiens.
  
  3 Et ceux-ci sont du père de Hétham, Jizréhel, Jisma, et Jidbas, et le nom de leur soeur était Hatselelponi.

  8 Et Kots engendra Hanub, et Tsobeba, et les familles d'Ahathel, fils de Harum ;
  
  9 Entre lesquelles il y eut Jahbets plus distingué que ses frères ; et sa mère lui avait donné le nom de Jahbets, parce que, dit-elle, je l'ai enfanté avec travail.
  
  10 Or Jahbets invoqua le Dieu d'Israël, en disant : Ô ! Si tu me bénissais abondamment, et que tu étendisses mes limites, et que ta main fût avec moi, et que tu me garantisses tellement du mal, que je fusse sans douleur. Et Dieu lui accorda ce qu'il avait demandé.
  
  11 Et Kélub frère de Suha engendra Méhir, qui [fut] père d'Eston.
  
  12 Et Eston engendra Beth-rapha, Paséah, et Téhinna, père d'Hirnahas ; ce sont là les gens de Réca.
  
  13 Et les enfants de Kénaz furent, Hothniel et Séraja. Et les enfants de Hothniel, Hathath.
  
  14 Et Méhonothaï engendra Hophra ; et Séraja engendra Joab père de la vallée des ouvriers ; car ils étaient ouvriers.
  
  15 Et les enfants de Caleb, fils de Jéphunné, furent, Hiru, Ela, et Naham. Et les enfants d'Ela, Kénaz.
  
  16 Et les enfants de Jehallelel furent, Ziph, Zipha, Tiria, et Asarel.
  
  17 Et les enfants d'Esdras furent, Jéther, Méred, Hépher, et Jalon ; et [la femme de Méred] enfanta Marie, Sammaï, et Jisbah père d'Estemoah.
  
  18 Et sa femme Jéhudija enfanta Jéred père de Guédor, et Héber père de Soco, et Jékuthiel père de Zanoah. Mais ceux-là [sont] les enfants de Bithia fille de Pharaon, que Méred prit [pour femme].
  
  19 Et les enfants de la femme de Hodija, soeur de Naham, furent le père de Kéhila Garmien, et Estemoah Mahacatien.
  
  20 Et les enfants de Simmon [furent], Amnon, Rinna, Ben-hanan, et Tilon. Et les enfants de Jishi furent, Zoheth, et Ben-zoheth.
  
  21 Les enfants de Séla fils de Juda, [furent], Hel père de Léca, et Lahda père de Marésa, et les familles de la maison de l'ouvrage du fin lin, qui sont de la maison d'Absbéath.
  
  22 Et Jokim, et les gens de Cozeba, et Joas, et Saraph, qui dominèrent sur Moab, et Jasubiléhem ; mais ce sont là des choses anciennes).
  
  23 Ils furent potiers de terre, et gens qui se tenaient dans les vergers et dans les parcs, [et] qui habitaient là chez le Roi pour son ouvrage.
  
  24 Les enfants de Siméon furent, Némuël, Jamin, Jarib, Zérah, et Saül.
  
  25 Sallum son fils, Mibsam son fils, et Mismah son fils.
  
  26 Et les enfants de Mismah furent Hamuël son fils, Zacur son fils, et Simhi son fils.
  
  27 Et Simhi eut seize fils et six filles ; mais ses frères n'eurent pas beaucoup d'enfants, et toute leur famille ne put être aussi nombreuse que celle des enfants de Juda.
  
  28 Et ils habitèrent à Béer-sebah, à Molada, à Hatsar-stuhal,
  
  29 A Bilha, à Hetsem, à Tholad,
  
  30 A Betuël, à Horma, à Tsiklag,
  
  31 A Beth-marcaboth, à Hatsarsusim, à Beth-birei, et à Saharajim. Ce furent là leurs villes jusqu'au temps que David fut Roi.
  
  32 Et leurs bourgades furent, Hétam, Hajin, Rimmon, Token, et Hassan, cinq villes ;
  
  33 Et tous leurs villages, qui étaient autour de ces villes-là, jusqu'à Bahal. Ce sont là leurs habitations, et leur généalogie.
  
  34 Or Mésobab, Jamlec, Josa fils d'Amatsia ;
  
  35 Joël, Jéhu fils de Josibia, fils de Séraja, fils de Hasiel ;
  
  36 Eliohenaï, Jahakoba, Jésahaja, Hasaïa, Hadiël, Jésimiël, Bénéja.
  
  37 Et Ziza, fils de Siphehi, fils d'Allon, fils de Jedaja, fils de Simri, fils de Semahja ;
  
  38 Etaient ceux qui avaient été nommés pour être les principaux dans leurs familles, lorsque les maisons de leurs pères multiplièrent beaucoup.
  
  39 Et ils partirent pour entrer dans Guédor, jusqu'à l'Orient de la vallée, cherchant des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
  
  40 Et ils trouvèrent des pâturages gras et bons, et un pays spacieux, paisible, et fertile ; car ceux qui avaient habité là auparavant étaient descendus de Cam.
  
  41 Ceux-ci donc qui ont été décrits par leurs noms, vinrent du temps d'Ezéchias Roi de Juda, et abattirent leurs tentes, et les habitations qui y furent trouvées, et les détruisirent à la façon de l'interdit, jusqu'à ce jour, et y habitèrent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leurs brebis.
  
  42 Et cinq cents hommes d'entr'eux, [c'est-à-dire], des enfants de Siméon, s'en allèrent en la montagne de Séhir, et ils avaient pour leurs chefs Pelatia, Néharia, Rephaia, et Huziël, enfants de Jishi ;
  
  43 Et ils frappèrent le reste des réchappés des Hamalécites, et ils ont habité là jusqu'à aujourd'hui.

  4 Il eut ces six fils à Hébron. Il y régna 7 ans et 6 mois, et il régna 33 ans à Jérusalem.
  
  5 Voici les fils qu’il eut à Jérusalem : Shimea, Shobab, Nathan et Salomon, tous les quatre de Bath-Shéba, fille d'Ammiel,
  
  6 ainsi que Jibhar, Elishama, Eliphéleth,
  
  7 Noga, Népheg, Japhia, Elishama,
  
  8 Eliada et Eliphéleth, ce qui fait 9.
  
  9 Ce sont là tous les fils de David, en plus des fils de ses concubines. Tamar était leur sœur.

  11 père de Joram, père d’Achazia, père de Joas,
  
  12 père d’Amatsia, père d’Azaria, père de Jotham,

  14 père d’Amon, père de Josias.
  
  15 Fils de Josias : l’aîné, Jochanan ; le deuxième, Jojakim ; le troisième, Sédécias ; le quatrième, Shallum.
  
  16 Fils de Jojakim : Jéconias et Sédécias.
  
  17 Fils de Jéconias, le déporté : Shealthiel,
  
  18 Malkiram, Pedaja, Shénatsar, Jekamia, Hoshama et Nedabia.
  
  19 Fils de Pedaja : Zorobabel et Shimeï. Fils de Zorobabel : Meshullam et Hanania ; Shelomith était leur sœur.
  
  20 Puis il y eut Hashuba, Ohel, Bérékia, Hasadia, Jushab-Hésed, ce qui fait 5.
  
  21 Descendants de Hanania : Pelathia et Esaïe, ainsi que les fils de Rephaja, d'Arnan, d'Abdias et de Shecania.
  
  22 Descendants de Shecania : Shemaeja et ses fils Hattush, Jigueal, Bariach, Nearia et Shaphath, ce qui fait 6.
  
  23 Fils de Nearia : Eljoénaï, Ezéchias et Azrikam, ce qui fait 3.
  
  24 Fils d'Eljoénaï : Hodavia, Eliashib, Pelaja, Akkub, Jochanan, Delaja et Anani, ce qui fait 7.

  2 Reaja, fils de Shobal, eut pour fils Jachath ; Jachath eut Achumaï et Lahad. Ce sont les clans des Tsoreathiens.
  
  3 Voici les descendants d'Etham : Jizreel, Jishma et Jidbash ; leur sœur s’appelait Hatselelponi.
  
  4 Penuel, le père de Guedor, et Ezer, le père de Husha, étaient les fils de Hur, le fils aîné d'Ephrata, père de Bethléhem.
  
  5 Ashchur, père de Tekoa, eut deux femmes : Hélea et Naara.
  
  6 Naara lui donna Achuzzam, Hépher, Thémeni et Achashthari. Ce sont là les fils de Naara.
  
  7 Quant aux fils de Hélea, ce sont Tséreth, Tsochar et Ethnan.
  
  8 Kots eut pour descendants Anub et Hatsobéba, ainsi que les clans d'Acharchel, le fils d'Harum.
  
  9 Jaebets fut plus honoré que ses frères. Sa mère l’avait appelé Jaebets en disant : « C'est parce que je lui ai donné naissance dans la douleur. »
  
  10 Jaebets fit appel au Dieu d'Israël en disant : « Veuille me bénir et agrandir mon territoire ! Que ta main soit avec moi ! Préserve-moi du mal, afin que je ne vive pas dans la douleur ! » Et Dieu lui accorda ce qu'il avait demandé.
  
  11 Kelub, frère de Shucha, eut pour fils Mechir, le père d'Eshthon.
  
  12 Eshthon eut pour descendants la famille de Rapha, Paséach et Thechinna, le père de la ville de Nachash. Ce sont les habitants de Réca.
  
  13 Fils de Kenaz : Othniel et Seraja. Fils d'Othniel : Hathath.
  
  14 Meonothaï eut pour fils Ophra. Seraja eut Joab, père de la vallée des artisans. En effet, c’étaient des artisans.
  
  15 Descendants de Caleb, le fils de Jephunné : Iru, Ela et Naam, ainsi que les fils d'Ela et Kenaz.
  
  16 Fils de Jehalléleel : Ziph, Zipha, Thirja et Asareel.
  
  17 Fils d'Esdras : Jéther, Méred, Epher et Jalon. La femme de Méred lui donna Miriam, Shammaï et Jishbach, le père d'Eshthemoa.
  
  18 Sa femme judéenne mit au monde Jéred, père de Guedor, Héber, père de Soco, et Jekuthiel, père de Zanoach. Les autres étaient les enfants de Bithja, la fille du pharaon, que Méred avait prise pour femme.
  
  19 Fils de la femme d'Hodija, qui était une sœur de Nacham : le père de Kehila le Garmien et Eshthemoa le Maacathien.
  
  20 Fils de Simon : Amnon, Rinna, Ben-Hanan et Thilon. Descendants de Jisheï : Zocheth et Ben-Zocheth.
  
  21 Descendants de Shéla, le fils de Juda : Er, le père de Léca, Laeda, le père de Marésha, ainsi que les clans qui travaillent le textile à Beth-Ashbéa.
  
  22 Il avait aussi pour descendants Jokim, les habitants de Cozéba, Joas et Saraph – qui dominèrent sur Moab – et Jashubi-Léchem. Ces événements sont anciens.
  
  23 C'étaient les potiers et les habitants des plantations et des parcs ; ils habitaient là près du roi et travaillaient pour lui.
  
  24 Fils de Siméon : Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zérach, Saül.
  
  25 Descendants de Saül : Shallum, lui-même père de Mibsam, père de Mishma.
  
  26 Descendants de Mishma : Hammuel, lui-même père de Zaccur, père de Shimeï.
  
  27 Shimeï eut 16 fils et 6 filles. Ses frères n'eurent pas beaucoup de fils et leur clan tout entier n’atteignit pas le nombre des descendants de Juda.
  
  28 Ils habitaient à Beer-Shéba, Molada, Hatsar-Shual,
  
  29 Bilha, Etsem, Tholad,
  
  30 Bethuel, Horma, Tsiklag,
  
  31 Beth-Marcaboth, Hatsar-Susim, Beth-Bireï et Shaaraïm. Telles furent leurs villes jusqu'au règne de David, avec leurs villages.
  
  32 Ils avaient encore Etham, Aïn, Rimmon, Thoken et Ashan, ce qui fait 5 villes,
  
  33 et tous les villages situés aux environs de ces villes, jusqu'à Baal. Voilà leurs lieux d’habitation et leur généalogie.
  
  34 Quant à Meshobab, Jamlec, Josha, le fils d'Amatsia,
  
  35 Joël, Jéhu, le fils de Joshibia, lui-même fils de Seraja, fils d'Asiel,
  
  36 Eljoénaï, Jaakoba, Jeshochaja, Asaja, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaja
  
  37 et Ziza, le fils de Shipheï, lui-même fils d'Allon, fils de Jedaja, fils de Shimri, fils de Shemaeja,
  
  38 ces hommes, qui viennent d’être désignés par leur nom, étaient chefs de leur clan, et leurs familles grandirent tant
  
  39 qu’ils allèrent du côté de Guedor, jusqu'à l'est de la vallée, afin de chercher des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
  
  40 Ils y trouvèrent de riches et bons pâturages et une région vaste, tranquille et paisible, car ceux qui l'habitaient auparavant descendaient de Cham.
  
  41 Ces hommes mentionnés par leur nom arrivèrent là durant le règne d'Ezéchias sur Juda. Ils attaquèrent leurs tentes et les habitations qui se trouvaient là, ils les vouèrent à la destruction, et ce jusqu'à aujourd’hui. Puis ils s'installèrent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
  
  42 Il y eut aussi 500 hommes parmi eux, parmi les descendants de Siméon, qui se rendirent dans la région montagneuse de Séir. Ils avaient à leur tête Pelathia, Nearia, Rephaja et Uziel, fils de Jisheï.
  
  43 Ils battirent le reste des survivants amalécites et s'installèrent là jusqu'à aujourd’hui.

  17 The sons of Jeconiah, the captive: Shealtiel his son,
  
  18 and Malchiram, and Pedaiah, and Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
  
  19 The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel, and Shimei. The sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam, and Hananiah; and Shelomith was their sister;
  
  20 and Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and Hasadiah, Jushab Hesed, five.
  
  21 The sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah, and Jeshaiah; the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, the sons of Shecaniah.
  
  22 The sons of Shecaniah: Shemaiah. The sons of Shemaiah: Hattush, and Igal, and Bariah, and Neariah, and Shaphat, six.
  
  23 The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, and Hizkiah, and Azrikam, three.
  
  24 The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, and Eliashib, and Pelaiah, and Akkub, and Johanan, and Delaiah, and Anani, seven.

  9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers: and his mother named him Jabez, saying, "Because I bore him with sorrow."
  
  10 Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow!" God granted him that which he requested.
  
  11 Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
  
  12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.
  
  13 The sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.
  
  14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah: and Seraiah became the father of Joab the father of Ge Harashim; for they were craftsmen.
  
  15 The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam; and the sons of Elah; and Kenaz.
  
  16 The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
  
  17 The sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and she bore Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
  
  18 His wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.
  
  19 The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the father of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
  
  20 The sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben Zoheth.
  
  21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
